Looking for a quick bite me and a friend pulled off the highway and one of the first places we saw was Old Chicago. Neither of us generally go for chains but we were in a hurry and were both familiar with it, and also knew they had a good variety of things t choose from. The hostess seemed to skip us a few times but who knows, we were pretty burnt out from the road and were just trying to relax a bit. After 20 minutes or so we were seated and ordered some sodas and the pepperoni rolls - which are always good. When my friend told the server she wanted a burger she was asked if she wanted fries with it. After saying yes the server asked her if she wanted "ranch" fries. We said we hadn't heard of them and she said they were "kind of famous" for them. So of course she said yes to them. When I ordered a chicken pesto panini I got the same question, only she said I should try the "jerk" fries, so we could share. Sounded reasonable enough. Food shows up and the panini was pretty much soaked in oil, and very soggy. The pesto tasted like it was weeks old, and the chicken was a few dried up chunks. Easily the worst panini I've ever had. Oh yeah, and those fries pretty much sucked too. The were cold and tasteless, you can't sprinkle seasoning salt on something that isn't good to start with and expect it to be great. Then it hit me, the only reason I ever went to an Old Chicago was to drink and being on a road trip we couldn't enjoy a few cold ones. After a few beers the food isn't too bad, so if I ever find myself in an Old Chicago again I'll be sure I am able to drink!

My first time here was a huge disappointment. It took 30 minutes for our appetizer to arrive, when the waitress told us the food would take just as long, we ordered our entrées. They arrived 6 minutes later while we were still working in the appetizer of pizza rolls, which were the best part of the meal. I got the spaghetti pie and it was stone cold in the center. I asked for water twice and never got it. The waitress was very apologetic for everything. I won't be back.

Great service and good selection of beers and food. Always friendly staff. One of the favorites of my wife and myself. Staff and management always willing to make things right on the very rare occasion they are wrong. Beer tour is a fantastic gimmick that gives you am incentive to try new beers and the mini tours take that one step further. So far the changes made to the food, beer selection, and how the beer tours operate under the new owner, Craftworks, have been for the better.

Service is terrible. Took 30 minutes to get a salad. Many service staff just standing around. No team work. Never bring a large group in. Almost 50% of reviews say something similar so it is quite obvious they don't care about service.

Great service! Great food! Manager took care of most our bill because our food took too long to make which we didn't even notice we were good with the amount of time it took but we appreciated the generosity and thoughtfulness of the management!!!

The food is decent but not enough to continually come to this establishment for their poor customer service. I came on a Friday night, not as busy as usual. There were plenty of empty booths on the right side of the restaurant, the waiter promptly said we would have to sit on the left side on the high top bar side. And if we wanted to sit at a booth, we would have to wait awhile... so we sat at the high top bar side and our lungs continued to fill with the poisonous odor of cigarettes. Amazing...

Not good service. Seems management has not trained staff properly. The only good thing about this place is the food.

You think it would kill them to get an order right. I wanted a simple bacon Swiss cheeseburger only pickles. Came with mushrooms so I sent it back. Got it back with mayo, onions, tomatoes, and lettuce. SMH. At that point I should of asked for the manager but I realize they hired these idiots so what's the point of complaining. Plus with this level of stupidity I didn't want to risk them adding bodily fluids to my food by sending it back again.

I came here on a late Saturday night just for some drinks to catch up with an old friend. I had a Pomojito and she had the OC Iced Tea. Mine was fruity and very limy, with almost no taste of alcohol, so I guess it was like a hard limeade. Hers was sweeter and pretty light on alcohol too. After that, we both had some wine because it was $4 wines during their late night happy hour specials.

We had been travelling for 2 months and were desperate for some GOOD pizza. We passed this place on the way to our hotel and decided to give it a try. The inside is very nice. I loved all the brick and the decor. My friend ordered one of those drinks that come in a hammered copper cup, and she said it was very good. I ordered a salad appetizer that was fresh and came with some really good ranch dressing. All good. My friend ordered some garlic french fries that looked good, and she said they were good, but that's not my thing so I didn't try them (she loved them). We shared a plain cheese pizza and ordered it WELL DONE. The pizza was delicious, and came out well done, exactly how I ordered it. I like my pizza almost burned, and they cooked it perfectly. We were SO happy to finally have good pizza. We topped our meal off with a warm chocolate chip cookie topped with vanilla ice cream. The prices were VERY reasonable, the inside was clean and friendly, and the service was exemplary. All good, no complaints. When my travels bring me back to Wichita, I'll be back - for sure!

Great wait staff. Chicken Caesar salad had a half tablespoon of dressing on it. Lettuce seemed chopped, not torn or shredded.

We come to this location 3+ times per week. We frequently order food and drinks. One time when we could not finish our order they refuse to give us a box. We are not abusing the $2 appetizer policy but good service would give us a freaking box. We even offered to pay extra for the box and they refused. Terrible terrible customer service. There are a few great servers but management and most servers are terrible.

So, I would never come to a place like this, but got dragged-in by friends. It took forever (10 minutes) to get any service once seated. It took forever (10 minutes) to get our order taken. It too forever to get an appetizer (15 mins). Asked for another beer. No beer was forthcoming. Server dropped a slice of pizza on me. Yes. Dropped pizza on me. As in, there is pizza on my leg. Thanks for that, glad I had shorts on. Pizza was marginally cooked ... doughy and barely cooked. Did I mention my second beer never arrived? And I am sure I mentioned the pizza slice on my leg? Just checking. This is not my kind of joint and experiences like this one just underscore that. Nothanks.

Bad customer service, rude Asst Mgr makes excuses for simple, fixable mistakes and blames customers. Food does not taste fresh. Staying near in hotel. Will never return to this location. It was so bad I contacted corporate to see if there is a resolution. Watched bartender hold order receipts IN MOUTH and then stick orders to tap wall. Basic Restauranting rules ignored.

  • Erin W.

I frequent the OC near my house (not in Wichita) so we stopped in for a late night snack and a beer. The beers on tap are cold and there's a ton of options. The pretzel was a little greasy for my liking and we got the sampler apps. Server was friendly and not in our face (thank you for that). I like the layout of this location as well, with the bar being the prominent part of the building. The prices on beer are more than you'd pay in most places, but that's across the board with their corporate. The parking lots surrounding it make it a maze to get to, but once you make it there, it's a good time.

I'll skip directly to the service. The service wasn't too great on my end. It was a friends birthday, and they had 2 tables reserved. On my end of things, the waitress got my drink and food order in, but pretty much ignored me the whole time. My drink was never refilled, and I waited a long time before I was able to ask for my desert that I had previously put in the order. I figured the service would be much better considering the people I was with, knew the people that worked there. When the waitress did show up to ask people if they needed anything, she would say, "Can I help you with anything else?", and 2 seconds later she would be gone. Not enough time for me to turn around to say anything. If she could at least wait for a response from each individual, I think the miss-communication would not be an issue. My only suggestion is that the waitress take a little bit of extra time going around asking people. It's a loud environment, so some people may not be able to hear them. The food was very good. Had no complaints in that arena. I got their special which was a Stromboli and a dessert for 9.99. I got the Philly chicken with fresh cut veggies with it. They provided a lot of veggies with it. More than I expected, which was good. Other than that, the experience wasn't too bad. Just a minor quip.

Pizza's, both deep-dish and pan-size, are great and filling (in the restaurant). I just wish their order to-go or pick-up pizzas are the same. The last pizza I had after a long trip was surprisingly not as appetizing as sitting in the restaurant and dining in. Eat in the restaurant or just pop a Digiorno in the oven rather than order pick-up.

I really like the food here and the service is typically friendly. First experience wasn't the best with the server. We asked about a military discount and the waitress was really rude about saying they don't do that. We never expect a discount, but it doesn't hurt to ask and it wasn't necessary for her to be so rude about it. We have returned because my kids really like it and we haven't had further problems.

110 kinds of beer but half of them are just normal beers you can find at any local liquor store. Ordered a Chicago style pizza...not quite a deep dish but it tastes ok. I think I'd rather go to BJs. But the beer selections I got were very tasty. The left handed milk was a nice stout. Some other Colorado brews were worth tasting too. Some of the dark beers were surprisingly light but had some nice flavor.

The trip down the Kansas Turnpike from Topeka to Wichita almost always inspires a trip to Old Chicago. I've been going to Old Chicago since I was a teenager in Colorado at what I assume is restaurant #1 in Boulder, CO. My standby order has always been "The Chicago Seven" but today I tried one of the featured pizzas, "The BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger." If I see the three letters BBQ on a menu I'm usually game. I was tonight, and was blown away. Ground beef, shredded cheese, green onions, bacon, diced tomatoes, fried onion shreds, (some accidental stray pieces of chicken and green pepper) and a VERY generous slathering of a sweet and smokey BBQ sauce made for a magnificent pizza. If only they knew how awesome those two stray pieces of green pepper were in the mix. I'd suggest trying it with the green pepper. That fresh burst of flavor was incredible--and FWIW, I'm one of those people who isn't wild about the excesses of green pepper on pizzas, but in this instance found an exception.

Since my arival to Wichita, I have been looking for that mom and pop hole in the wall that fills our bellies and makes us smile big. While Old Chicago is neither a mom and pop or a hole in the wall, it was clean and the menue is varied. Picture Applebees meets Pizza Hut and you get the idea. I worked at Dominoes Pizza for 8 months, so I do have a good idea what pizza is all about. While there are several non-pizza items to choose from, I wanted to taste the item that put Old Chicago on the map. I bellied up to the bar and ordered The "Old Chicago" personal size Pizza and waited. They have a large selection of beer on tap. I am not much of a beer drinker, but I do know pizza and beer are the two foundations in the triangle of fun. The Pizza was very good. The crust had a slightly sweet taste to it. The cheese was a wonderful gooey mess, but tasted spectacular. I liked that the toppings had a more natural made in you kitchen look to them. All-in-all, a great experience and some good food.

A chain that I had never heard of until I moved here. It's a good deep dish pizza place that has a bunch of other stuff on the menu and a ton of beer on tap. It was quite loud, which was a plus for us and our three kids( it drowns out the kid noise). It's good if you want "normal pizza". Try Il Vicino for an even better pizza.

A really good place to eat at night. The atmosphere actually reminded me of the time I went to Chicago, and it was great! The outdoor seating is perfect in the summer and the food is always good. I like the fact that they serve a lot of fries with their burgers and that their pizza is freshly made. Because of the construction on Kellogg it will be hard to get there, but it will be worth it, so go!

A good place to hang out in Old Town. The food is tasty from soup, salad, and pasta. Not so much for pizza. I mean, the pizza is decent but not to compare with the ones served in Chicago. They have a good selection of beer. Friendly service, too.

Good prices, great food, and a wonderful experience! I didn't have very many expectations when walking into Old Chicago. With Chicago being one of my favorite food destinations, I figured, I'd give it a try. When stepping into the restaurant, I already knew that pizza would be my meal of choice, of course, I was enticed by a number of other options available on the menu. Checking out the appetizer menu, I was tempted to try their nachos as I imagined the mozzarella, pepper jack, pepperoni, sausage, and banana peppers piled high on each chip, however, I figured, the Sicilian pepperoni rolls sounded much better. Wow, I was amazing by the flavor that came out of that roll, while not too overpowering, the roll was loaded with pepperoni and for a pepperoni lover, you will fall in love with this roll. Combined with ranch dressing, pepper jack, and mozzarella, the roll was amazing! For pizzas, they had a few different choices for the types including Chicago-style, Artisan, and NY Thin Crust. I was tempted to try to Thai Pie (Chicago-style), however, something at the last minute pulled me towards the Artisan Chicken Pesto Pizza. I tried making a few pita pizzas in my own in the past and figured I'd give a restaurant a shot at making me one. To my delight, the pizza was exceptional. The crust and the cheese were not one, as it was a layer of bread, sauce, then a layer of cheese, however, when you took that bite, it hardly even mattered. What made this pizza SO good? The combination of the normal chicken pesto pizza in combination with the caramelized onions! The sweetness of the onions really did the trick and put me in heaven! The restaurant's environment provides a sports bar type environment with at least eight HD televisions that are on different channels for you to enjoy while you done, so it can also be a nice hang out spot after work, even if you are not looking for a meal.

I have to admit that I picked this place purely because it was close to my hotel. That said it was a good light dinner. I had soup and an appetizer and was pleased with both. The service was friendly and prompt and the atmosphere was pleasant as well. Lastly - give the pomojito a try :) it was yummy!! That said - the pizza smelled amazing and if I was more hungry I would have ordered that.

I'll start out by saying this is a great place to enjoy a wide a selection of beers and to catch some games with some friends. As other reviewers have mentioned, it's just another chain that specializes in pizza, pasta, and sandwiches. The night started out good with our waitress and she was holding a conversation with our group of 5 people. Then maybe she got a little too comfortable and was probably too ignorant and started with some racial jokes that were funny at first. I'm guessing because we didn't say anything then she just kept going and needless to say, no one was finding it amusing anymore. To give you an idea, I'm Chinese and she called me Jackie Chan and Wong Foo in reference to the movie with Wesley Snipes. We had nachos and their buffalo chicken rolls for appetizers. The nachos were average and the buffalo chicken was soggy and all you can taste was the wrap. I ordered Chicken Parm and only the spaghetti was enjoyable because the chicken felt like rubber. I'd stay clear of this location if you decide to try it for yourself.

This is crap. Even for Chicago "pizza," which this is not (whether that Windy City cassoulet is even itself pizza is another discussion), this isn't up to par. The "Chicago-style" is just a run-of-the mill pan pizza like at Pizza Hut. Sauce is run of the mill, toppings are your standard variety sausage blobs and the like, the cheese is salty mozzarella from the bag, the crust may as well come from frozen. It just isn't good. I should also add that I've eaten here twice and three times at the Old Town location. There appears to be a difference in the service, as in, the Old Town location seems a little more professional and competent. For example, at the eastside location I got laughed at when I asked if they had a white pizza ("WHITE pizza?? What is THAT?"), and another time it was apparent the server had no idea about the beers they serve, unable to distinguish a Belgian-style from an amber ale. Go to Bartelli's anyway instead for ICT's best REAL pizza, if you care enough to taste anything.

This is one of our favorite family places to go. We always have a great time here. The food here is awesome. Although a little pricey, it is well worth the money. The pizza is very good, as is the Calzones. Because of the size, my wife & I ordered one Calzone today to split and was given 2 small ones instead. This was the perfect size, I am stuffed! The service is uneven. As with most places, you have good and bad servers. There are a lot of good servers, but if you get there at shift change (4 pm) it does get a little worse. Most of the servers want to get out and may abandon you. However, the good news is that they do a good job keeping servers from quitting. So, if you do find a good server, get their name and ask for them when you go in next time and you will get consistently good service. In all, this is a great restaurant to go into. I highly recommend it.

I miss the old building, which has now been replaced by the generic Old Chicago building. The food isn't terrible, but nothing that has me wanting to come back either. Terrific selection of beers and the beer tour is fun. Unfortunately with most of the bottles coming in at over $5, this is not a place you want to try to get drunk at. Even the pitchers of domestic beer are over $10.

Just tried the new NY style thin crust pizza...it was greasy but really good. Great drink selection, just wish this place wasn't so expensive.

Its a small step above Applebee's, and mostly just for the beer selection. Food is average for a chain restaurant. Really nothing special or imaginative.

They have some spectacular servers, and I'm never disappointed in the food. From their house salad to their pizza, it's always delicious! My boyfriend and I both work nights as servers, so this is great when we want to go have drinks and/or dinner after work!

Unless you really want to have a drink along with your meal, you can find better places to eat. I have tried their pizzas and calzones and they were both average. Pretty cool atmosphere, but I don't find the quality to be worth the price.

I see that this place is listed under pizza, but it's got that and so much more. My absolute favorite here is the Old Chicago Burger and the Stromboli. Their pizza rocks of course. Now, a lot of people come here for the drinks, but since I don't drink so I can't say anything about that. When I was going to Wichita State, we would come here a lot on the weekends to eat and shoot pool. Great place to meet friends and hang out. They've got a west side branch and a downtown branch as well. Oh and their spicy fries and ranch fries are great as well.

Great food. The best selection of beer in town! The World Beer Tour card works in other states as well. The cleanliness of the new east location is much great. The service is and friendly staff is great. The food comes out fast, so space out your order or ask the waiter/waitress to hold your order for a few minutes if you ordering an appitizer to start. The patio is nice in the summer when the wind is not too gusty.
