Waiters were attentive for the most part. Viejo (old) is right. Food tasted bland and like a day or two old. Food is microwaved to perfection. (Don't touch the plates). Bottom line, don't waste your money here. Better tasting mexican food at Golden corral.

I have been to this place several times and have been pleased every time. This is more of a thank you post. On April 13th this awesome restaurant allowed me and my step mom set up several hours early for a birthday party. The food and staff for excellent! My girlfriend had the best three hour birthday dinner she could have asked for! Thank you MV! Now the drinks were on point! I never drank here before but for the party I had this glorious drink called the coronarita. Never had I thought of that before! I had the medium and my god I don't even want to see what the large would have been!m

Kennedy's Special - $10.99. Two plate dinner: one enchilada, one burrito, one chile relleno, one chalupa, one taco, rice and beans. This meal is big, just as the flavor! Try it! Functionally, Mexican food, like Italian food, shares a lot of similarities across a variety of dishes; there's a lot of variations on meat, tortillas, and sauces. The differences are found in the details, unless you're Mexico Viejo, in which case the differences are not there at all. I should be able to tell the difference between an enchilada and a burrito, and while one of the two rolled tortillas stuffed with ground beef was slightly larger than the other, they were indistinguishable in taste. Doubly so when they're both doused with the same generic enchilada sauce. Despite the menu claiming a ranchero sauce to differentiate the chile relleno, that same enchilada sauce was used on my stuffed poblano, too. The relleno was the only thing that required some significant amount of cooking, which explained why it was greasy. The generic hard shell taco, when paired with the generic hard shell tostada disc of the chalupa, is a staple of redundancy on plates like these, so I can't fault them too much, though it didn't help given how much other ground beef I had already eaten at this point. The beef was seasoned well enough; it would have been nice to try some other protein in one of my items. No one offered it. Rice and beans were bland. Mexico Viejo is the third restaurant to occupy this space in as many years. It replaced La Fiesta earlier this year, and La Fiesta replaced La Mesa in November 2011. You can still read La Mesa's name on the backs of all of the garish multicolored chairs. By far the best part of my meal was the bottle of El Yucatero hot sauce that was on the table. Service was nice enough, but the kitchen reeked of laziness in a way that indicated that Mexico Viejo wasn't interested in doing anything more than providing large quantities of boring Tex-Mex to this part of town.

Wow. It was fantastic food!! The service was top notch and super super fast service. Cheese dip so good. And pina fajitas the bomb. Live music as well!

Well, first dip into the Wichita area's mexican food scene and I'm not impressed. This is pretty much your standard "strip mall" mexican food. The fajitas would've been seasoned well if the pan it's presented in hadn't severely burned everything. The Hawaiian pork tacos each had one very small piece of pork in them so we're just pinapple tacos. The sides are obviously from a can. The table side guacamole cart was presented well but lacked flavor. Service was very friendly and attentive however.

Good food and friendly service. They have a large menu and everything tastes fresh. It is a new place and has not caught on yet but it was nice to not have a wait on Friday night.

Very good food. El Alambre is my favorite! Fajitas are also very good. Generous portions ( lots of shrimp given with fajitas Jalisco) & cheese sauce is the best. Michelada is the best I've had!

Horrible food and service. It's definitely not the same food or service from Las Fajitas. This is the second time we've tried it since the name changed, same results.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
