I really like this place. The menu is very eclectic and features a fusion of latin america , cuban and american comfort food. Odd you ask? A bit, but the food was delicious. A nice touch of class for the area a great lunch spot. I would go again if anywhere in the area. I had the cuban sandwich and the poblano soup. The soup was just amazing. On the lite and fresh side.

Clean, bright and friendly! Sandwiches are delicious, and the salads are fantastic. One of my new favorite places on the far west side.

I was just in about 5 minutes ago and I was one of three people inside the restaurant. The cashier was rude. She rushed everything she said and when I couldn't make out what she was saying she repeated it just as fast and annoyed. She also never made eye contact at any point. I ordered carryout and she walks past my table and says "your food is done" and I figured she was talking to someone else since she didn't even look at me as she said it. She then waited at the door and said it again like she was annoyed. The food is fine but this is the second time I've gone in and had terrible service. I love the food but its not worth killing my great mood. :(

What a wonderful find!!! This little place doesn't look like much on the outside, but inside you will find delicious, creative, fresh food and wonderful service. I started with a strawberry lemonade, and the server actually apologized it took a few minutes because she had to cut up the fresh strawberries in it. Wow! It tasted amazing and was well worth the very short wait. I ordered the veggie sandwich, which has the usual suspects (grilled veggies, cheese, etc), but Metro Grille took it to a new level by adding mango, fresh mozzarella, and a basil sauce. Truly delightful. Their sides (many of which are vegetarian), were just as delicious. I had the cup of poblano cheese soup, which was served with croutons, and a side bora bora salad (has slivered almonds, apples, and strawberries). All of the food was wonderful, but it was truly the service that set them apart from other Wichita restaurants in my book and is the reason I rated them 5 stars. You won't be disappointed in Metro Grille. I can't wait to go back!

Love this place!!! Cheap and tasty, great Cuban specials. The owners mom was Cuban and father was Italian, great marriage of tastes and smells. You can't go wrong with this laid back hidden gem. Service is friendly, restaurant clean. This was just my first visit but I'll be back every time I come to Wichita.

Only a few weeks ago did Metro Grill open their fourth Wichita restaurant, and we finally have one on the west side! They are located in the old Bartelli's pizza and I really enjoyed how they updated the interior. There are ample tables that could be put together for large parties. Since the location is still very new, many of the staff are still getting used to processes of the business. The menu is exactly the same as all the other locations, and includes a nice mix of sandwiches and hot entrees. I don't think the price to terrible considering how fresh and healthy most of their menu options are. I believe they make almost everything from scratch, and that I am more than willing to pay for. I enjoyed the half sandwich lunch combo deal: a half Italian chicken, chips, and a drink. The one thing I wasn't a fan of was the way they had the napkins, cups, and plastic silverware displayed. Hopefully, once they get settled in a bit more, they will update this little nook. I would not recommend trying to eat their food on the go. The sandwich was super delicious, but tough to eat while I was driving back to work. I will definitely be back to try some of their other menu items!

Just tried this location last night. Everyone's food was great. I had the real cuban sandwich. It was as good as the ones you can get in Miami. Also had the white cheddar poblano soup which hit the spot. I split a flan with the family for dessert and it was tasty too. Service was a little slow but the food was made when you ordered. Only real downside is it can be hard to get into their parking lot due to being on the corner. Worth it though for a good meal.

Amazing! In probably 8 visits, Metro Grill has yet to disappoint, and has become one of my "go-to" restaurants. Sandwiches here are extremely flavorful -ingredients are fresh and strong. Brusco burger is probably as good a burger as you'll find in Wichita, and there are a few other sandwiches on the menu that are just as good. Portion sizes on some items are small, but a $2 cup of (really tasty) beans and rice will take care of that. Tiramisu is excellent. Quality and flavor of food is here is on par with Sabor, Public or Bela Luna.

I first ate at the Towne East spot they had several years ago and the Cuban Sandwich won me over. Also love the Infamous Bob, Arugula Salad and the Seafood Bisque. Friendly service and I'm happy we have the West side location.

Great unique tastes for Wichita- soups and sandwiches. Homemade tastes. We loved it! But we had driven by this place many times without noticing it. They just need more people to discover it. I understand he used to have some sort of food/hot dog stand at Town East. This goes well beyond that. Give it a try.

Went in last night and arrived at 8:45. I thought they were open til 10, but they closed at 9. I'll start by saying I never felt rushed, which is a pleasant surprise when you show up to eat that near closing time. Our server knew the menu inside and out and was more than willing to provide suggestions and detailed descriptions of the prep and ingredients. You can tell he was proud of his food, and it showed through, in both his presentation and the food itself. Attentive service, knowledgable of the food, and it was all delicious. Highly recommended as a step up from most of the standard fare we have in the area around it.

The food here is good however service could use a lot of improvement. i would come back a lot more if i can get my food quickly. Definitely don't come if you need to get in and out quickly. When they are busy it will take awhile for you to get your food. The service is very inefficient and it's not necessarily the servers fault, they just have bad systems. For how they are staffed, they are better off having customers order and pay at the front counter and serve themselves from the soda machine instead of trying to be full service. For what they are they need to think Jason's Deli instead of Bella Luna. I meant the place only has concrete floors, why try to be upscale when it's obviously not. There's no point in having someone open the door for you but it takes forever to get your drink or place your order or to get your check.

The Bam Burger was excellent. Very tasty. My wife had the VIP. Pasta dish that was also very good. Such a nice alternative to the chains and fast food on the west side. We arrived 15 minutes before closing. Service was professional and not hurried like others this time of night.

Ate ate Metro Grill a couple times when it was on the Waterfront and I loved it. Ate at the west location last night...didn't love it that much. At 6 pm the sun was streaming in through all the windows and into all the customers' eyes-might be time to invest in some blinds. You order at the cash register, which is OK, but the cashier was also the only server working. I ordered a strawberry limeade, but because the server had to make it, and there were customers that kept coming in after us, I didn't get my drink for about 15 minutes-after I'd already started eating my food. When she finally made it, it was just some limes and strawberries in the bottom of a glass that she took to the soda fountain and put Sprite in. I wish she'd just handed me the glass with fruit so I could do it myself and get something to drink!! Hubby's Cuban sandwich was stellar as always, both of us had plantains and they were good, my beans and rice were fine, my bisteck empanizado was just OK... the breading didn't really stick to it and it was tough. We love the sandwiches and probably would come back for a lunch sometime...but not order any drinks we can't get ourselves.

The Infamous Bob is the first sandwich I had and from this day forward Metro Grill moves to the top of my list for West Side eats. Great!

One of the more weird dining experiences I've had. It was a hot day and I had been working outside, so I was just wanting something light. A small cup of soup and a desert sounded just right. When I put my order in, the male employee advised me they were out of the desert I wanted, so I ordered Caesar salad instead. He then recommended I get a sandwich and soup combo. That was more food than I wanted and sounded a little too heavy, but he insisted I should order something else. I told him soup and salad was what I wanted. He acted offended and began copping an attitude. We got past that and he told me I needed a bowl of soup, not a cup. I stuck with my order and the attitude continued. He then displayed the same behavior towards the rest of my party. When I got my food, I was suprised how little I got for $10. That being said, the Poblano soup was really good. The atmosphere was fine, typical deli, but the music was too loud, in my opinion. I cannot recommend based on my experience, but I will probably go back and try it again for posterity.

Great food. Prices a little high for the deli style atmosphere. I will likely be back to try it again. Recommend the Cuban sandwich highly.

Oh man, this place is DELICIOUS. They have the best Cuban, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Try the tiramisu. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, a pretty classy sandwich shop. We were pretty upset that Bartelli 's closed, but since metro grill has moved in, we're thrilled!

I have been eating here since it was in Towne East Mall and it has been a favorite of mine for years. "The Bob" is an absolute marvel of a sandwich, deliciously and carefully crafted like a work of art. I've had other sandwiches and pastas there that are also very good. Great place!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
