Once again I find myself an interloper in a neighborhood bar that is not necessarily looking for my business. I don't care about the big game. I don't care about the camaraderie. I'm just here for the food. The food, in this case, is pizza, because they say it's famous and I say we'll see about that. I don't know about famous, but it's pretty good. Not a cracker crust, but a thin crust that is ladled with a heavy helping of a seasoned sauce, my toppings of choice (pepperoni and jalapenos - aka the Texan), and cheese. The cheese might have been the weakest part of the pie, if only because it was applied with a heavy hand, though considering the amount of sauce, it shouldn't be a surprise. This overabundance was salvaged by the cook knowing that browned cheese tastes good, and it was left in the oven long enough to get plenty browned and tasty. This is one of those bars that is light on the tap selections and heavy on the promotion of the Kansas Lottery, but it otherwise looked like a friendly place to enjoy the game. With their nice handling of the pizza, I would be willing to explore their burgers or sandwiches during a weekday lunch.

This is a solid neighborhood bar. I recently moved here and wanted a place to have a drink and found magoos, they have an updated music system, laid back, easy going and friendly crowd. Staff is nice and the drinks are tasty.

We have eaten and drank here many times. Tonight (unfortunately) the service was rough and the food sat in the kitchen window for 15 minutes before it got to the table. We will come back. But if we have another night here like tonight...it will probably be our last time.

We ate lunch at Magoos for the first and probably last time around 2pm on a Tuesday. There looked to be the manager and then one server/bartender who was doing both jobs. Everyone else that was there besides us was sitting at the bar. It appeared to have been a pretty regular crowd. A bunch of elderly people who got together at the bar every now and then. The server greeted and addressed each person by name. But by no means would they be considered BUSY. Definitely not too busy to give our table proper attention. It was just me and my boyfriend and we both ordered waters, I got mine with no ice. The server went back to the bar to pour our drinks and shouted at me from across the room if I said I wanted no ice to which I said yes, to which she shouted back "okay I made it that way but just wanted to make sure." Wasn't a huge deal, but the shouting seemed pretty unprofessional to me. Then came time to take our order. The food seemed to take a while coming out for how slow they were and that we were pretty much the only table who ordered food. The food finally came out and everything was right and tasted really good. Huge portions for the burgers. 2/3 of the plate was filled with fries that were slightly over cooked but still good. My boyfriend got wings and the potato skins. He said his wings were great but the potato skins were overcooked. The server did not once during the whole time we were there come back to ask us how the food was or if we needed anything else. She did however use that time to take a smoke break, and the sit and mingle with the bar guests. She also was drinking with them. Now she could have been drinking soda or whatever but she was drinking from a short liquor glass with a straw which really gave off the wrong impression. My boyfriend's drink also sat empty through the last half of our meal so for about 20 minutes. She came back to check on us when we were pretty much finished at which point we were ready to leave. I would have understood if we received this service and they were swamped, but it was pretty unacceptable for us being the only ones eating outside of the bar which only had like 5 or 6 seated. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars instead of 1 was because the food was good and it was reasonably priced. May or may not be going back here again.

Food is outstanding. Pizzas always been good but they just change the menu recently and it was fabulous. Try the flaming chicken sandwich!
