A fantastic gem! I had the fish tacos and the flavor, texture and presentation was perfect! The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming! Will definitely come back!

The service was a 2 star since we where the only table in the restaurant. We orderd our appetizer which was crispy buffalo cauliflower she forgot to put it in so we did not get until we where half done are entrees and they where not crispy Booo that's the best part. Salad dressing could be better. The smoothie's are great but $11? Not worth it. Cheese cake fell flat tasted like bland nothing if that's possible.

Three years ago, I gave a too-generous review to the heavy-handed crepes of the newly-opened Lotus Leaf Cafe and Creperie. I promptly forgot about it until they moved and opened in Old Town under a slightly different name. The focus might not be on the crepes anymore, but instead Lotus Leaf provided a fully-realized and successful take on healthy food in a way that doesn't alienate the people who aren't interested in rhetoric. Much of Lotus Leaf's menu is vegetarian, vegan, or gluten free, but rather than substituting lame soy products for things that we actually want to eat, they place the emphasis on vegetables. You would be hard-pressed to miss the meat in the Lotus Crepe, which is so jam-packed with roasted eggplant, mushrooms, and peppers, the well-rounded dish is incredibly fulfilling. Even something common like a black bean burger, when dolled up with green chili, avocado, and caramelized onion, can make for an ample burger. Soups are rotated daily, which is no surprise, though you will also find a daily juice or soda selection too, whether it be a freshly-juiced watermelon or an Italian soda, it's something that adds a level of sophistication to the menu. The crepes have come a long way, but they're not the focus anymore. The focus is now on the juices and soups and menu full of vegetables that are on equal footing with meat. It takes more effort, but it's worthwhile.

I've been in twice so far, but plan on making this a habit. Fantastic juices, smoothies, and food. The turkey burger is fantasmic! The service is top-notch, I can't wait to go in again! A great healthy and tasty stop.

The atmosphere is clean and modern. The menu oriented towards healthy foods. The food is simple and packed with flavor. Healthy food can taste great!!! The staff was friendly and helpful. The price-to-portion ratio seemed a tiny bit high, but the flavors were wonderful.

Friday night, 5:30, I was the only one there, maybe I was early. That's fine because my order came quickly and my smoothy was awesome. (Joyful Almond) this is a must if you like almonds. While waiting for the food I took a look around, they recently moved to a new location, and already the place has a good atmosphere. (The bartender was topping fresh strawberries to freeze, I'm betting they are using some awesomely fresh ingredients for all their dishes) For dinner I got the (Triple B) black bean and quinoa burger. I've had many veggie burgers, this one is up there with the best, and it was sturdy to boot. The sweet potato option for my side was savory and sweet, a very nice side dish.

I have eaten here twice in the past week. Both times I was impressed by the food, cleanliness, and service. High quality ingredients combined to make tasty sandwiches. I have had the Big D sandwich and sweet potato chips and another turkey sandwich (the tom?). Both were perfectly delicious! Yum!!! A nice variety of offerings on the menu. The salads look wonderful and will be trying one the next time. This place will be in my regular rotation.

Excellent meals. Great, fresh food and the male server is super nice. A female server we had once wasn't very friendly. I did notice from our table, I could see in the kitchen. The cook/chef put a spoon in a pot, dipped fingers in for a taste, and then put the spoon back in the pot. Bordering on pretty gross.

I wrote the message below privately to Jacqueline Keefer, the owner of Lotus Leaf. Since I didn't receive any response, I figured fellow Yelpers deserve to know about my experience. Too bad, I really wanted to like Lotus Leaf Cafe. I am in Wichita on business and found you by searching vegetarian Wichita. I first ate here Monday, when I left you a 5-star review on Facebook for the delicious eggplant sub. The only thing I could complain about (which I did not mention in the review), is the slow and unprofessional service. Your server actually wiped her nose with her hand on her way to pick up my plate in the window. I gave her a pass for being the only one serving several tables. My experience today has been extremely disappointing. My server (the middle aged white woman - the receipt says Ann), was too busy talking to the younger server to come and take my order. I tried making eye contact a couple times but she kept looking away like I was a bother. I ordered the buffalo cauliflower and the quinoa tabbouleh. On my first bites, I didn't care for either item. The cauliflower was not crispy as described on the menu (very soggy), and the tabbouleh had way too many onions. I was hoping the server would check back in so I could let her know and see if I could get something else. She was too busy complaining to her coworker about the loads of people who will be coming in for some wine event you are hosting. Yes, your employees complain about you when you aren't here. I was starving after a long day of work, so I ate it anyway. About halfway through she came by and asked how everything was. I said, "you know, I am really not a fan of either dish because the cauliflower is soggy and the quinoa has too many onions for my taste." In my mind, this was her opportunity to ask me if I would like to order something else. She said "I will let the owner know" and walked away. I figured she was heading to the back to let you know. When she came back, I asked if she had spoken with you, and she said no, she would tell you when you get in tomorrow. I told her that I was frustrated with her customer service and that she should have taken the opportunity to make it right. She rolled her eyes and made a snide comment to a neighboring table as she walked off. I then watched her complain to her younger coworker about me, which was completely humiliating. The check came, and no offer to discount/comp the items I didn't like or offer a discount on anything else if I wanted to reorder. I wasn't looking for a discount, but I feel it is an appropriate measure of goodwill in an organization that cares about customer service. I love small business, and take every opportunity to support local restaurants when I travel for work. You had the opportunity to earn my business every day I eat in Wichita, which will be at least 6 weeks this year. I would love to sing your praises on FB, Yelp, to my colleagues, etc. however, after this experience, I can say that I will take my business elsewhere, where I am appreciated as a customer and where the staff believes in customer service. I would recommend Micah Soloman's book: "Exceptional Service, Exceptional Profits" as training reading for the server I had tonight, if you don't decide to fire her. I feel for you, as I know business ownership (especially restaurant) is not easy. I just believe you deserve to know how your staff act when you aren't around, and you deserve to know why you are losing business. Call me anytime to discuss if you'd like.

Food was delicious. We ordered the pumpkin dip with the sweet potato chips. So delicious. I asked for more chips but they said they were out & waiting on the truck to arrive. I ordered the eggplant sub. It first came out with feta cheese though it's marked vegan on the menu. The manager said that they are changing their menu and the server forgot to mention that it now comes with feta. Luckily they remade it for me and I was very pleased. Probably one of the best vegan sandwiches I've ever had!

Great spot we found in Wichita. Loved that there was something for everyone (including vegans) on the menu and the food was very good. I had a fresh squeezed juice, buffalo cauliflower appetizer and amazing sweet potato crêpe plus a slice of raw vegan cappuccino cheesecake. I ate every single bite. Have also tried the grilled cheese which was yummy, and took a nibble from almost every other plate at the table. No disappointments. Nothing seems over complicated on the menu, which is nice when you have as many picky eaters in your family as I do. I will gladly go back anytime I'm in Wichita. Nice to see there are some healthier options out there.

Good place for juice/smoothies and simple vegan food! The juice and smoothies are exceptionally good but the food is closer to what you would expect at a health food restaurant; pretty tasty but I wasn't wowed. Overall pleased with this place and would recommend trying out for lunch!

Our server, Ashley, recommended the carrot ginger cheesecake for desert. It was beautifully presented, fresh, perfectly sweet and delicious. It is now my personal favorite recommendation for all of you. We missed the pumpkin almond dip for appetizer but it will be another reason for coming back. I also thought the turkey burger was a bit dry and wished the green chili avocado came with it had a little more kick and creamier. The tarragon chicken crepe was just ok because the smell of the chicken pieces were really off putting. They smelled like left-over rotisserie chicken pieces and I was not sure why. I also really love the music they played in the back ground and the friendliness of our server. Restaurant.com helped us discover Lotus Leaf Cafe and we will definitely be back.

I stopped by on a road trip from California to Texas. This is one of only two places with Vegan options in the area. This restaurant was fantastic! We were served by the owner herself, who was wonderful. She was nice and spent some time talking over the menu options. We settled on the buffalo cauliflower appetizer, which ended up being better, yes BETTER, than the buffalo cauliflower I typically get from a vegan place in Los Angeles. (I would highly recommend trying it) We also got salads and sandwiches. Everything was fantastic!

Don't miss the pumpkin almond dip with sweet potato chips and house made nut and seed crackers! So so so fabulous! The staff has been very helpful and knowledgable in every visit! Great fresh squeezed juices and smoothies. Fun outdoor seating in summer and large clean bathrooms. Many healthy vegetarian, non vegetaian, vegan and gluten free options.....right in the heart of downtown Wichita!
