We braved snowy weather to try the new management's offerings. I must say it was worth it! I had a jalapeno/spicy mustard burger and it was delicious. Two quarter pound patties with jalapenos, spicy mustard and cheese, plus tomato slices (I passed on the lettuce, not an iceberg man) & dill pickle slices. The handcut fries were done just right. My wife loved her single patty hickory burger & onion rings. One possible caveat - the burgers were cooked well done. That is the way I prefer my hamburgers, I am definitely NOT into steak tartare! I realize that many burger lovers prefer their patties undercooked by my standards, so thought I would warn you.

Forget fast food burgers and drive to Broadway Burgers. I had the Swiss mushroom burger and it was GREAT. You can taste the freshness of the meat and the Swiss cheese was perfectly melted. I loved the French Fries as well as they reminded me of homemade. I will be back.

My brother had recommended this place a year or so ago, and the reviews have been so good I thought that I'd give them a go. I was really torn between trying the great smelling bbq or the burgers. I opted for the Double Cheeseburger and Fries. Nicely done, tasty and filling. Hope to try the bbq soon.

I frequent broadway burger all the time. It's a nice place to get some fast food on the way to work that isn't really fast food. Must try items: -brisket sandwich -chicken strips -breaded mushrooms They also have good potato salad, onion rings, and although the fries are sometimes a little limp and thicker cut than what I prefer, they have sweet and spicy rub on them that delivers a good kick. I am not a huge burger person but they have several burgers to choose from. I've tried one before but that beef brisket sandwich is too good to pass up each time. The meat falls apart in your mouth and the toasted bun combined with the meat gives you the best buttery and rich and smoked flavor. I don't even need sauce on it to eat it. The chicken strips are fire. They are cooked more like thin flat strips of chicken fried steak and have a great salty crunchy exterior, I've only had them once now (on my last visit) but I'll be getting them again. They don't even need sauce either. The mushrooms are perfect. They are very crunchy and have a hard breaded exterior but the inside is slimy and well cooked through but still firm. It's all sorts of flavor and texture happiness in your mouth. They are very nice and the prices are good for the quality and amount of food you are getting. I love broadway burger and have quickly become a loyal customer.

Driving down south Broadway, it's easy to see how this street used to be one of the city's major throughways. From the cheap motels to the restaurants, it exists in a different time than many of the other major cities in town, and (particularly south of Kellogg) that time hasn't been very good to it. Despite this, I found what I consider to be one of the better examples of a Wichita burger place, not because it avoids any of the typical ICT burger pitfalls, but because it doesn't fall into them quite as significantly. Just as much of this aplomb can be attributed to the smoker sitting out front. I wasn't looking for barbecue that day, and there wasn't really anything on the menu that allowed me to easily order a sampling of both the burger and the barbecue, but gosh darn it, the unexplained barbecue inklings of Broadway Burgers harken back to a starry-eyed time in my life two years ago when I was under the mistaken impression that Wichita was a barbecue town and there were smoked treats to be found around every corner. Plus it smelled something wonderful when I pulled into the drive thru, so what was to be a modest lunch turned into another shameful instance of me ordering way too much food for one person. It paid off. The sliced brisket sandwich (trimmed. Sorry.) was a pleasurable affair thanks to a nice rub and someone who knows when a brisket is done cooking. Even better was the application of that brisket rub to the fresh fries. Sure, they were still a little greasy and not too crispy, but they were a thin cut, so those concerns were minimized. I suppose it's not necessarily good that I have little to say about the burger, but I found the 1/3 patty to be proportionally pleasing and decent for the medium well type you'd expect to find here. Surprise barbecue is the best kind of barbecue, especially when it's sharing the spotlight with a good example of a typical burger. Perhaps there is hope for the south side yet.
