Fresh yummy food! I feel like everyone can find something yummy on their menu regardless of their taste palate. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Quick and fresh! Love it!

Today my hubby, myself and our son ate at Avivos pizza. We ordered the manicotti, the meat calzone and a deluxe pizza. Everything was soooo good. AND THEN......... we ordered the new hot pecan roll. IT WAS AMAZING! This is my new favorite hot. Spot

There were 12 people working there. Our waitress explain she wasn't 21 so she needed to have the only 21-year-old person at the restaurant serve the wine. It took forever. Not our waitresses fault. When we brought this to the attention of the manager he promptly chewed out our waitress causing her to cry! Never going back!

Cute atmosphere. Great tasting pizza. I tried the bbq chicken pizza and it was amazing. Great sauce, great toppings and the connolis were great too (chocolate covered only, no original).

Delicious! Ordered the margherita pizza and it was perfect. Nice thin crust and it wasn't crispy or soft - just right. Will be back next time I'm in town.

Very good pizza! And bonus! Gluten free crust. The reason for the four stars; no gluten free beer. They had angry orchard but were out on the Thursday we went. Loved the speedy service and anywhere I can get gluten free, is a good day!

It's a small place, but the waiter was nice, the food was good, the overall service was good.

they have the BEST cheese bread sticks in Wichita BUT the price do not do its justice for the sizes of bread sticks it comes in. they should provide more bread sticks, or make it more cheaper for that size. the pizza is good, they have great variety of pizza. the atmosphere is what makes me come back, and the staff is nice and friendly. great location too, great to stop by to eat after a day of shopping

I love their variety of gourmet pizzas. They have a huge variety of options and specialty pizzas. Prices are great, and even the wine selection is tasty. The ambiance is nice, and the service is good. The biggest issues I have with the place is that both times I've gone, the person at the register doesn't offer any recommendations when asked. They kind of give you a blank stare and say "What do you like?" Also, the outdoor seating area -- while great for families with squirmy kids -- is a bit low rent with Walmart tables that wiggle and wobble. All and all, I'll be going again.

The atmosphere is really nice - like Panera but more open. Prices are good and there are good lunch specials. We were surprised by the nice atmosphere and my hopes were high, but the undercooked breads made it less than a 3 star experience. I had the Avivo salad which was fresh and the pesto ranch dressing and balalmic vinegrettte dressing was delicous. My salad came with two breadsticks that were barely cooked. We also had the pollo alfredo pizza. The sauce was not fresh, the bread was undercooked to our liking - the curst had little crunch and was soft in the middle. We had a 2-for-1 coupon (entertainment book) so I still thought it was good for the money but there is room for improvement. Il Vicino is better.

Finding Avivo in the deluge of businesses that is New Market Square proved to be quite the challenge, especially at night. My craving for pizza won over my frustration, so I drove around the acres and acres of developments until I found the place. It's facing Wal-Mart's direction, across the way from a kitchen supply store. I sat down at the bar and had a ten minute eye dance with the young'uns manning the place. Or maybe it just felt like an uncomfortably long time. Eventually, though, I was asked if I wanted to order, so I quickly slipped in a request for a portobello e cipolle, and paid immediately, not knowing when I would see this whippersnapper again. The garlic sauce, mushrooms, cheese mixture, and onions, all came together to make a very nice piece of pizza, and it sat on a wonderfully thin and crispy crust. The onions were caramelized and were so impossibly sweet that there had to have been sugar added to them. Almost distractingly sweet, but it provided some balance to the salty cheese. The pizza only comes in a couple of single-serving portions, and I blew through my pizza and still had room for a couple more inches, though I'm sure I'm not the first person to wish for a couple more inches on a Friday night. Maybe the issue of service was just a misunderstanding (it certainly improved once they figured out I was there to eat), and the pizza was a great and better alternative to the two Il Vicinos in the city. A local restaurant serving better food than a chain? Who've thought?

I have to say I absolutely love brick oven pizza! So when my hubby suggested we go to Avivo for dinner I was first in the car. When we arrived it was about 5:30 Sunday evening. At Avivo, you order at the register, then you find a table and they bring your food out to you. Because of this, and not being familiar with their menu, we were standing at the register for some time. After we ordered was a little taken back from the cost, but I don't mind paying for good food and good service. It was a beautiful evening so the family and I decided to eat out on the patio. Our food took 25 minutes to arrive to our table - a little too long when you have a toddler. When our food arrived, it was very good, with the exception of my daughters ravioli dish. The ravioli was disgusting so much so that she did not even finish one. She ate the bread sticks and pieced off my son's pizza. Because we were outside on the patio, I feel we were forgotten about by the waitstaff. Our drinks were only refilled once when our food was brought to us. Sitting with empty glasses makes me kinda cranky. To recap, the pizza's were good but unsatisfying and the ravioli was disgusting. Service was not as good as I would expect. Next time I have a desire for good brick oven pizza I think I'll go somewhere else.

Avivo is a great option for light Italian fair in W Wichita. It is a refreshing business model in the overrun world of chain joints in new market square. I was hesitant at first because there are plenty of other options that have proven their worth, but it is worth a test drive. The business model is interesting in itself, order your food and drink, pay, then sit. They bring everything to you, and refill your drink without bothering you incessantly. It's a great place to visit if you feel like having good food and not wasting money on overhead. I appreciate that it appears all the employees are keeping busy. Go, you won't regret it.

The pizza was good as was the salad. Mondays are $5 martinis and the classic martini was good as well.

Pizza is consistent, great ingredients, no charring under the pizza. Staff is friendly and it's the best pizza in wichita. I've tried il Vicino on the east side however the pizza is usually charred underneath.

I adore this place. It's an oasis in chain restaurant hell. The pizzas, panini, and salads are all great. They're well made, creative, and composed of high-quality, fresh ingredients. You order at the counter, but a server bring your drinks, meals, and refills. If you find yourself in West Wichita, give it a try.

Avivo one of our "go to" places, I just never thought to review it. Although Avivo is located in the westside chain restaurant haven (aka New Market Square), it is not a chain (I called them to confirm this). Avivo is a small brick oven pizzeria but pizza is definitely not the only food on the menu. If you check out the menu (which you can find on their website) you will see pizza (both Italian and American types), paninis, salads, pastas, dessert, wine, and (insert the sound of angels singing) a delicious martini list. Not only is Avivo a westside spot where two adults can enjoy some tasty, relatively healthy, non-chain food and drinks, my notoriously finicky children love this place. Shockingly, they choose it over McDonald's every time. Hallelujah. One of my favorite things about this place is the out of the ordinary offerings and of course the martini list. I don't get to partake in it often, but just knowing it is there makes life just a little bit happier. I've already decided that next time I'm going to try the Portobello e Cipolle (garlic sauce, portobello and button mushrooms, caramelized onions, mozzarella, provolone, feta, and thyme). Yeah, my weekends are crazy but somehow I fit in the time to scan menus and decide what I will eat next time I go to a particular restaurant (please notice the sarcasm). But please don't take my word for it, check it out yourself. blueberrylemon.net

Pizza is great. Some very interesting options. It took us a bit to figure out the ordering process, but once we got past that, it was good. Service was very good, glasses didn't get empty and when we needed some additional crackers for the TORTA di PESTO FETA FORMAGGIO they were delivered in short order. (By the way, I highly recommend the Formaggio, superb!) It is a little hard to find, but it sits on the back side of the Men's Warehouse. So don't look for it on the street, but inside of New Market square.

I've been to Avivo once for a quick lunch break with a coworker. I ordered a panini with a side of their house salad, both were tasty and portioned perfectly for lunch time. They delivered friendly service and acknowledged us immediately as we walked in. I did not spend more than $7 and left a happy camper.

My wife and I had a great pizza here, it was thin crust and prepared well. I would recommend the #14 along with the avivo salad to start with. We shared one pizza and had a half salad each, it was plenty of food

Great pizza and a friendly staff. Plenty of parking and fast service. Good place for a business lunch with a large group of co-workers. Everyone is bound to find some Italian dish they like on here. Don't go to the Olive Garden or to that nasty Wichita dive the Italian Garden - blech! Break out of the Chef Bouardie mold and try something a little different. They have wine, beer, and an actual martini LIST.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
