Newer TVs and lots of Space set the pace! Come on over if you're at Lake Shawnee, Bettis Family Sports Complex, or the softball diamonds. You'll undoubtedly be pleased as Reed's Lakeside offers all the comforts one can expect from a sports bar / restaurant. There are plenty of lowtop and hightop tables, and you'll be seated at the lowtops in padded swivel chairs with armrests. The bar stools have arm rests, too! What?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!.......Yup, I'm serious, Jack. The full service bar offers all one can ask for, and there are daily food and drink specials from my experience. They feature a full menu, and serve pizza, too! I play around with the pool tables, pin ball machines, and other games. Plus, there are even two back rooms that can be rented for events and parties. Reed's packs a punch, and that might be related to the fact that it is owned by a local Topeka professional boxer! At least, that's what I've been told. Lastly, I'm no fire marshall, but I'm guessing this place can hold 300 people or so. Again, I AM NO FIRE MARSHALL and the previous statement is only for entertainment purposes...so, I am not liable or responsible under any circumstances or if you schedule your 400 person family reunion there. THANKS! Agent Luke, Over and Out

A baseball tournament at Bettis Family Sports Complex was delayed due to rain so maybe 50-75 adults and kids poured into this place. Obviously I expected the wait to be long but truly we waited an hour after ordering before our food started to trickle out to the table, the most frustrating part was just that the food was all cold. Not even Luke warm but cold. So that means the food had been cooked but was just sitting in the window at least 10 minutes. I did feel bad for our waitress, she was just trying to keep up with the large group! But it seems Reed's needs to work on their team work and also plan better for large grouos since they are a sports bar and grill right across from a sports complex that has weekly tournaments...

This Reed's location is WAY BETTER than the one North of Topeka. I actually went here for lunch on a Sunday and tried the Buffalo Chicken Salad, which I absolutely loved. The portion was way too huge for me, so I ended up taking home half of it, but there's nothing wrong with that! My friend always orders their cheesy breadsticks and adds pepperoni on them. I tried one stick of that and it was pretty delicious as well. Overall, I really liked the food here. I didn't expect too much since I've always gone here during "bar time"... But I was very surprised. Really not too bad. Would this be my first choice to go out and eat again? Probably not, but I won't turn my nose up to it if a friend wants to go again.

Consistently horrible food, absolute waste of sports bar. Big TV'S and no cover is about all this place has going for it.

Was invited to a surprise party here in their "private room." It was filthy. The floor was gross, the tables sticky... went to the restrooms which looked awful. Graffiti all over them, worn out fixtures, beat up walls and toilet paper all over the floor. Gross. We had fully planned on having dinner there, but decided against it... the prices were overkill ($9 for a bar burger) although the reviews say the food is good. I just couldn't do it with the state of the rest of the surroundings being so dirty. Sticky tables and handprints all over the glass door and splotches on the carpet. It was very off-putting. On the flip side, our waitress was very pleasant and did seem to take care of the room quite well. And, the main area appeared to be a bit cleaner than the party room - course, that could have been because it was darker. Regardless, we left unimpressed and headed over to the Shack for a fantastic burger, fries and a drink, for about $15 for 2. Probably won't be out here again anytime in the near future.

Absolutely terrible service. Went in on a Thursday night just after 6 pm and it was not busy. Numerous waitresses around but took over 10 minutes to get one to come over and take a drink order. After 20 minutes no one had returned to take our meal order so we left. I must stress that there were numerous waitresses around that seemed more concerned with their cell phones or talking with each other than waiting on us. Will never return or recommend this place.
