Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

You've got to try the taco pizza! Yummy! Doritos crumbled on the top! The crust is delicious and I really like the marinara sauce on the regular pizza. Glad you reopened after the fire!

Best pizza in Topeka. I went last night and got a personal mahrgherita pizza. It was only five dollars and I wasn't expecting much since it was I usually go there for bagels and coffee. I was shocked how good it was, they make the dough from scratch and the pizza was how I like it. A crunchy bubbly crust that's light on sauce and cheese with just enough toppings. I wish I got the size up! I've had pizza all over town and most lean towards thick crusts and over cheesing/topping. This was not that. The tomatoes on top were fresh and it tasted home made. I'm so glad they reopened and I hope people go in at night for the pizza too. The customer service is always good and they run a very clean and smooth operation. My one suggestion would be to keep one TV on ESPNNews, it'll make it easier for guys like me to just drop in and zone out.

Back after the re-opening. Pizza just as good!! Just wish they could do something about that evening sun making most of the tables uncomfortable at dinner time with the glaring light.

I have only been here for the bakery and cafe, so I have no experience with their pizza (though I hear it's pretty good). The bakery was pretty good, my husband loved the cronut. I got a coffee which was a little expensive, but good. It was definitely busy as it was a weekend morning - lots of families getting breakfast and people picking up donuts and bagels to go. The location itself is nothing special inside or out. The service was okay (seemed like mostly high school students running the place).

Although I mAy tend to rate places higher than others I try to base all ratings on food quality, service, and atmosphere. Service and food was great! Unique selection of food and desserts. Restaurant was nice. Would go back. The mini size pizza's were perfect size and fresh (non processed) toppings!

Weird that Topeka's best pizza is from a place best known for bagels! But it's true! Love the thin crust pizza, but the braided pan pizza is delicious too! For sandwiches, the tuna melt on an onion bagel is my personal favorite. Good place for groups. We just had lunch with friends today and they fit us in fine. They also have gluten free pizza that my daughter enjoys.

Thank God this place is back open! I have been pizza depressed since they closed down after a fire last fall. I am giving them five stars even after we had a hiccup with our order, which I will write off as an error by very new staff (I think they only retained like 3 of their former staff members, so almost everyone working there is brand-new), not to mention they were very quick to offer me a $15 credit on my next order. The problem was that they confused my order as to-go and boxed up the pizzas, then could not locate them when we arrived to eat there. The pizzas were made, deliciously and correctly (and I have some strange order requests, too) and once they realized what was going on it was all good. Even with new staff, the pizza tastes the same! Great! I love their Taco (I order without meat) and their Thai Chicken (I order with no chicken!) is excellent as well. Really, I love their cheese pizza, it's not very expensive, has tons of cheese without being greasy, and is just plain good. They make everything there- no crust mix, no frozen crap, just good food. also, their kitchen is enclosed with big glass windows so you can see right in to verify the cleanliness of the place. Another reviewer mentioned them not carrying alcohol, but they actually do have a modest selection of beer, wine and also margaritas. Aside from the pizza, their sandwiches are great and their pastries are PHENOMENAL. You must go early to get a good pastry selection- don't expect much to be left by dinner time. They cook them fresh, sell only that day and when they're gone, they're gone! They have unique coffees, but I have always found their coffee to be not quite strong enough to please me. That doesn't stop me from ordering, but I don't get the caffeine buzz that I would like. Just go there. Oh, they have a drive-through as well, which I have used many times- very convenient!

Ok, updating this after trying the pizza yesterday. Dang! It was delicious. Was not expecting it to be that good! Seriously, you need to try it. Still leaving it at four stars from my last review because it took about 20-30mins to get our pizzas. Best idea would be to call ahead I'd say. We also got doughnuts for this morning. Again, delicious. This place knows how to make good food! Still hate the name. I was even talking to someone about it today and they agreed that the name has kept them from trying the place, which is what took us so long to try it. Unattractive name or not, you need to try this place out!

We're driving cross-country and stopped in Topeka for the night, wanted a local breakfast spot. While the bagels here are not east-coast style (they're only baked, not boiled & baked), they are good. Great selection of flavors, the bagels are generously sized and very soft inside with a light crunchy outer skin. We also had a maple-glazed donut, delicious! The staff is really friendly, the interior is cute. I recommend this place for a quick breakfast.

Never had the bagels but theeee best pizza in Topeka! Thin crust is amazing, as is the regular crust. So pleasantly surprised!!

Used to be Bagel Express.... but then added PIZZA to their menu and changed the name. I haven't tried the pizza but the bagels are yummy! My favorite is the Herby Sandwich on an Everything Bagel. Very tasty, and not bad on the budget at $5. Fast, friendly service and a variety of fresh made bakery items, coffees and pizza to choose from.

Great selection of bagels and spreads. Staff treats customers very well; we come here so often that they practically have it ready for us when we walk in the door.

I'm a Yelpper and there was only one other review so had to give these guys some stars that they deserve. I haven't been here for pizza, I only stop by in the morning when I'm in town and grab bagels for my team. A half dozen bagels (blueberry, cinnamon crunch, plain, sesame, poppy, asiago this morning), a large latte, 2 8oz tubs of cream cheese (plain and honey pecan) and a sausage, egg and cheese on an english muffin for just over $20? Great deal! Love the selection of fresh bagels, the breakfast sandwiches are always fresh and yummy. Keep up the good work gang! I'll be back tomorrow morning for another round of breakfast treats and coffee!

Easily the most fresh and delicious bagels/cream cheese ANYWHERE, Bagel Express is the best reason to hang around Topeka. Now called "Pizagle's" (or something equally ridiculous; sorry man, not a fan of the new name), Bagel Express features pizza as well. I've never tried it. I always get stuck on the bagels (the triberry bagel with vanilla brown sugar cream cheese is both unique AND yummy!), only getting as far as the sandwiches on a day where I'm feeling particularly bold (the Reuben is to-die-for). The owner is a super-fantastic man and the staff is attentive and friendly. Bagel Express bests all other breakfast/lunch joins in a 100 mile radius *easily*.

Love this place. Really great bagels and cream cheeses, killer coffees, sandwiches that are really fresh and unique but the pizza, OMGosh the pizza! The thin crust is by far my favorite by all of them are so good.

It is a Bagel Shop on one side and a Pizza Shop on the other = Pizzagel. The pizza there is quite good to have there, may be a bit pricey for what you get tho. The bagel side I have never had but my wife has and has always enjoyed them very much. They have sandwiches on that side as well. A nice little treat to get away from the major food chains!!!
