Horrible service. My husband and I came to eat and u would think it was packed. Took forever for our food. Our waitress coughed in her had. Then when I got my food my country fried steak was burnt and my hash browns. When I told the manager she said well does she want another one ya think. Been sitting here for a hour and still have not got my new hash browns. We will never be back. Turn around do not eat here. About to check out and still didn't get my hash brows.

Disgusting! Things floating around in the water. Milkshakes taste like bleach. Do not bring a big party in they get confused

En route to the coast. Stopped in with the kids because I knew we would all get what we wanted. Waitress is friendly (thanks Amby!), coffee is the usual Denny's joe . This ain't a five star restaurant; it's truck stop food, family style. We are good with that. If you aren't, then go elsewhere.

Food was good and service was good too. I am from out of town and have never had a bad experience at a Denny's until this one. My sister and her family and I came for breakfast on a Sunday morning around 8 am. The grandkids wanted milk with their meal. The waitress came back and apologized and said they were out of milk!! What restaurant runs out of milk at 8am? Lucky for us as we were bitching about it at our table, the manager overheard us saying they should send someone across the street to Walmart to get milk! So, he did and the grandkids got their milk after all. 5 days later I came in for a late breakfast. I ordered rye toast and was told they were out of rye. Again, Walmart is right across the street. How can they be out of rye bread? Never eating here again.

I don't know why people are complaining. Been coming to this one for years. This is a nice clean Dennys, got seated right away and service was fast. The cook even came out, to check on his customers after I got my food, never seen this before, it was nice for once.

Saturday Morning about 10am. I haven't been to a Denny's in years and years. I'm not sure what exactly possessed us to go... I knew as soon as we hit the doors, what to expect, and it was going to be the same-'ol, same 'ol. The doors were filthy and covered in disgusting greasy prints. (sigh) Why we didn't just turn around then and there, I don't know. The waitress was really quite good. Fast and attentive, and got everything right. I have to give them that much. :) The decor hadn't changed much since I'd been there last - at least 10 years before. (They have remodeled the outside though.) I never looked at the main menu, as the specialty menu hand enough to choose from to keep me busy. I ended up with a "grand slam" breakfast with the seasonal sweet potato pecan pancakes, two eggs over easy, hash browns and bacon. Prices were reasonable - lower than I'd expected actually. I think my meal was $5.99. The food was... well, I could have done better at home. It was edible, but nothing spectacular at all. Let's start with the bacon. It was wafer thin and very small pieces. Tasty enough, but barely what you'd call a serving. The eggs (over easy) were watery inside when I cut them open - the white part, that is. They were cooked all the way through but it was as if they'd sat on a holding tray for a while and condensation had accumulated in them. It was really gross. The hash browns weren't crisp and the pancakes didn't have any sweet potato flavor at all to them and just a few pecan pieces sprinkled on one side. Ech. You get what you pay for? My biggest gripe with Denny's has always been this: they are ALWAYS out of something when I go. Some ingredient or part of a meal - ketchup, biscuit mix, lettuce, mayo - something. Every. Single. Time. This time? The cheese bread they were advertising on the "Hobbit Hole Breakfast" my husband ordered. Instead of cheesy bread, he got a hamburger bun - sesame seeds and all - with a hole ripped out and an egg cooked in the middle. Sad. No discount. No real apologies. Just an excuse about the holidays killing them. Ha. Right. This is just how Denny's does it. So, not a good experience. It'll be another 10+ years before we go again.

This is a Denny's. If you're looking for true 5 star dining here, you're an idiot. If you show up on a Saturday morning not expecting a wait to sit, and your food immediately, you're a fool. If you want a hearty, filling breakfast, this is the place. If you want a prissy little upscale bistro to serve you a $10 cup of coffee, move on past this place. This is an American diner in it's most traditional form. Eggs cooked how you want. 5 different kinds of meat are available for your breakfast, one being a breakfast sausage so big that puts most brats to shame. Classic pancakes, French toast, biscuits, and waffles. If you want peanut butter for your pancakes, they'll bring you a vat of it. The waitresses are as prompt as possible, and sitting at the breakfast bar will get you conversation as they all come by. Depending on the cook, the chicken fried steak is pretty darn good. So, if you drink your coffee with your pinky tucked in where it belongs, enjoy your breakfast with a little grease, and are a Patriotic American, this is what you want. Damn commies go somewhere else. (Read best in the voice of Sam Elliott or Patrick Warburton)

Food was as expected at a run in the mill Denny's. Not bad at all. Older wait staff and at times kind of grumpy. No problem for me.... I would go back if I wanted a goid Cup of coffee and a pretty good omlette.

Horrible late night service. While I waited 5 minutes to be seated-there was no one in front of me, I was just ignored-I had one server look at me and then walk in the back. Eventually I just seated myself and waited another 10 minutes for the servers to finish their conversation to come over and ask for my drink order. Once I got my water--5 minutes later--I had to ask for a menu and silverware. I ordered a fish meal that was listed as coming with fries, one side, and toast. 35 minutes later I got my food--I assume it took so long because the cook was outside smoking from before I got there till 10 minutes after I ordered. When my food came out I had my fish, 11 fries( I counted) and that was it. No toast, no second side, no sauces-nor did they ask if I wanted any. I asked the server when they came by the table--which wasn't to check on my meal but to drop the check and ask if I wanted to pay now--if I could see the menu because I thought more was listed. He told me that was all and wouldn't bring me a menu. After I finished I waited 15 minutes to see him again and gave up and left my money at the register and he got a .42 tip. When I got outside all three staff members were outside smoking. I told them I left the money at the register and all they could muster was a "cool thanks." Worst service I've ever received in my life.

The night shift cooks refuse to turn down their radio in the back. Then when confronted, they proceeded to turn it up to an even more obnoxious level. At no point in the hour I've been dining here has it been turned down to provide my party of 4 with a comfortable dining experience. Also, the restroom here smelled moldy. I eat here all the time, but this was an even more unsatisfactory experience than usual. I'm sure that some of them think their clientele are only transients who they'll never see again, but that isn't the case.

Not many places open late at night in Topeka, so we ended up here. Food was OK. This location is in dire need of a remodel. Looks like it hasn't been touched since the 70's. Service was pretty good. My daughter said they had good coffee.

It is 8pm on a Wednesday night, I am sitting at Denny's restaurant with a coworker and I am thinking to myself, what am I doing here ? Usually when I hit a denny's, it is at 3 in the morning after a night of partying . Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, the fact that Denny's serves breakfast 24 hrs a day, made sitting here not as bad as it seems. The place was clean, not very busy, and the waitress was attentive to our needs. Even tho we were sitting in the non-smoking section, the place was a little smoky. I am guessing they don't really filter the air from the smoking section and just recycle it for the entire place. I ended up going with the Meat Lovers scramble that came with 2 eggs scrambled with all the breakfast meats, 2 slices of bacon, and a generous portion of hash browns. The meal also came with 2 buttermilk pancakes. Everything tasted good, which seems to be the standard with all denny's restaurants. Overall it was a good experience, but not somewhere that I would go for dinner on a regular basis.
