We visited on a Friday evening. Looking for someplace not too busy we succeeded as the only patrons in the restaurant left when we arrived. Mission accomplished though we are not sure this is a good sign. I must state neither my wife nor I are big wrap fans, at least not the type you eat. In any event we wanted to like Twisted Fresh but failed. We were not converted to wrap fans. If you like wraps you might enjoy Twisted Fresh. We found they lacked flavor and are messy (I'm guessing that is normal for wraps, the messy part that is). If you do like wraps be sure to check in with Front Flip as you will be inundated with offers to come back. I don't mean this to be a negative. Most places I check in I never hear from again. Unfortunately even a free cookie and drink with an entree purchase are not enough to get me back.

Accidentally discovered this place today when I was looking for a quick lunch. It's a beautiful 85-degree day here in Kansas City and I don't have long for my lunch break, but I really prefer to spend it somewhere with a patio and wifi on a day like this. Twisted does have wifi, but it didn't happen to be working today -- though several of the other neighboring businesses also have wifi I was able to tap into. The staff here at Twisted Fresh was absolutely lovely, so polite and friendly and accommodating. When I asked if there was more than the one vegetarian option on the menu, one of the staffers chimed in that they could add quinoa instead of chicken on any of their wraps. Very kind! I took them up on that and got what would have been their Thai Chicken Wrap but subbed the chicken for quinoa. It's got a nice zesty kick from the sauce, the quinoa was a great fit. Cheddar cheese is a little weird on a Thai burrito, but whatever. The patio has about 5 tables, all with access to shade - so that was a win! I would definitely come back and snag lunch here again, and next time I'll try something else subbing quinoa for chicken probably. I think adding tofu as an option would be an awesome way to improve here in the future.

I have now been to Twisted Fresh 4 times and I have to say, it's not only delicious, but it is also a great value. The wraps are big, the prices are low (7.00), and the service is quick. This place is getting pretty popular too, from the first time I went in to today, there is definitely a lot of people finding out about this place. So far my favorite wrap was the Buffalo Chicken. The Jamaican Jerk I had today was ok, but the ingrediants inside it basically ate away the wrap and it fell apart in my hands. Side option of cantelope is a good choice, but they could probably make the thin slice a bit bigger. I would definitely recommend this place.

My wife and I were in the mood to try something different for lunch. So, after a few minutes trying to recall restaurants that we had never tried, we decided on Twisted Fresh. We didn't know anything about it other than the name and it sounded like a wrap place, so we headed over. We arrived around 2:00 and there were only a couple of other people in the restaurant. Being a Sunday afternoon in a predominantly office area, I didn't think it was odd. The employees were friendly and everything in the restaurant seemed very clean. I ordered the "California Turkey Twist" and my wife ordered the "Turkey Pesto Pepper Jack". We both opted for the flour tortilla and I had chips while my wife ordered the German Potato Salad. The wraps were prepared within a few minutes. My California Turkey Twist was very good, except for the flour tortilla. While soft, it was quite bland. I'll remember to have the honey wheat or spinach tortilla next time. My wife didn't care for the pesto in her wrap, but that was due to misunderstanding what the flavor of the pesto was going to be. So, she and I swapped the second half of our wraps and I had her pesto wrap while she finished my California wrap. I liked the pesto, but thought it was a bit overpowering. We both disliked the German Potato Salad. It wasn't horrible, it just wasn't to our taste. The wraps were actually large enough to have half for lunch one day and take the other half for another day's lunch. At $7 per wrap, making two meals of the wraps would be economical for the light eater. When we were getting ready to leave, we weren't sure what to do with our food baskets and trash. There was a large trash can next to the front door, but no place to put the plastic baskets that our food came in. I asked at the counter and he said we could throw our trash in the can and just set our baskets "on a counter somewhere". So, we put our baskets on the window counter where a customer would normally sit to eat. A small shelf or table next to the trash can would be an excellent addition and would keep dirty baskets from being placed on clean eating surfaces. Overall, we thought it was a nice, clean establishment with friendly staff. And we saw enough on the menu that we are willing to give Twisted Fresh another try sometime.

Okay bbq burger. Well done was burned. Not my typical doness but I'm pregnant gotta stay on the safe side. Odd bbq sauce and not my favorite potato salad. Next time, I'll try a wrap.

Well i loved this place, the maui fish tacos were outstanding! Three of them were huge, loved them and will definitely go back. Great value.

Fish tacos are the best thing on the menu, and you can get them plain for change of pace if you don't want them cajun style. But pretty much everything is awesome. They don't have a fryer; everything is grilled, and therefore (in theory) healthier than your typical fast-food lunch. There was so much pico de gallo and slaw on my tacos, I ended up eating all the stuff that fell off of them with a fork, so it was like tacos + a bonus salad. Win! The one thing I don't like is the counter setup; it can get crowded in a hurry and there's no line management, so everyone is milling around confused. They could benefit from a couple of those line-control stanchions during the lunch hour.

While staying in a hotel on a business trip it can be difficult to stay on track with healthy meals. After scouring reviews on every restaurant within miles of the hotel, I decided on Twisted Fresh. There were a couple of negative reviews, but the good ones out weighted the bad ones by far. I had the Mahi Mahi Tacos. They were very flavorful, the fresh cilantro along with the spices on the fish made a decadent combination. The serving of 3 tacos was more than I could eat. The price was right as well. A delicious healthy quick place to eat. Not fast food, this is pan cooked and assembled fresh right before your eyes. Love it!

This is an okay place for a wrap, which is what I had. Specifically, I ended up with the Jamaican Jerk Chicken wrap. It came up pretty quick and the chicken was hot, but the veggies were VERY cold (not quite frozen, but very cold) which sort of clashed with the freshly heated (note: not freshly cooked, I don't think) chicken. There was an okay amount of chicken, but there definitely could have been more. Plenty of veggies, but nothing stood out beyond the pineapple. I will say that I missed any resemblance of a jerk seasoning in the wrap...not one bite showed it. So, it was almost like a chicken and pineapple wrap, not a jerk chicken wrap. Service was very friendly. The space itself is average, but clean and spacious. I could see parking being a pain at rush hours (like lunch), but cannot confirm.

I have yet to try something here that isn't chock full of flavor and just flat out amazing. Quick service, clean restaurant and fair pricing. The portions are large and can definitely be split into 2 meals if you are eating them as a lunch item. Fish tacos are especially superb! It's not a typical "sit-down" restaurant....you order your food at a register, they make it and you sit down to eat. So if you are thinking about a first date place, this isn't it.

  • Kev L.

I got the spicy turkey salad. It cosisted of deli sliced turkey cut into strips, some field greens, cheese, spicy salsa, and ranch. For the price I am truly disappointed in the quality and time its takes to get an order. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place as my first impression was unsatisfactory.

Mmmmmmmm! Seriously. I was in town for business and had the Cajun chicken tacos and they were delicious and filling and reasonably priced! Check it out if you are ever near JCCC or KU-Edwards

Food was good and very fresh. Loved the idea of cantaloupe as an option for the side vs. chips. The restaurant was not very cool inside, so we couldn't enjoy it as much as we would have liked. May be back but take it to go or go on a cooler day. (AC seemed to be blasting toward kitchen more than dining tables.)

We stopped in for lunch last Friday just after arriving in town for the weekend. It was a great choice. They are correct having fresh in their name. They've come up with some unique combinations of tacos and wraps here that we found pretty awesome. The guy at the counter must have been the owner. He had the aura of a business executive, was super friendly and later I saw him wiping down the top of a piece of equipment. Only someone who paid for it would got the extra mile like that. I also noticed all the other employees were heads down trying to act super busy, even though the crowd wasn't that big. The location here probable hurts a bit - it's in a strip mall and set back from the road. If there were signs up on the road, I didn't see them. I got a special called Kung Pao. My expectation was something like the contents of Kung Pao Chicken; green pepper, peanuts, red pepper...nope. None of that. It had something called Thei slaw with grilled chicken and..uh...can't remember, but it was really good. It was a wrap, but the way. I didn't ask for it, but I guess I could have gotten it as a taco or salad as well. This seems like it would be a pretty healthy choice if you made it a salad. My wife had the Mahi Mahi tacos. I got to eat one of them. The shell was kind of straight fro mthe box and a flour tortilla was wrapped around it. I wasn't terribly impressed with this, but the contents were excellent. It would have made a good wrap or salad. I think it's pretty cool that you have that choice. It was a very good lunch, Check it out. We'll be back if we're in town and in the neightborhood.

Oh man! What a hidden gem. Twisted Fresh is exactly what it claims to be. A place for fresh tasting food with a little twist. The mahi mahi tacos are amazing! I have also has their Thai chicken wrap. Each meal you get tastes fresh and crunch with just cooked meat. One of my favorite sides with the meal continues to be the quinoa. It is mixed with raisins and a couple of other things (served cold). It's so good. My only complaint is that the AC in this place is always blasting. Brrrrr! But the staff is young but all super nice. I'd recommend this place for a simple meal. I think this is one of the places I'll be craving in the summertime.

I ordered a grilled chicken gyro wrap, chips, and a drink at the counter for a total of about $9.00. My wrap was ready in about three minutes. The wrap had very generous amounts of delicious chicken breast, feta cheese, and fresh veggies, making it very filling. The restaurant was clean, with music playing.

A little crowded and noisy. But first rate wraps. Filling and delicious, interesting dressing and seasonings. Quinoa salad to die for!

I was told about this place by a friend and thought i'd give it a shot this past weekend for dinner and needless to say, Im a FAN! from the time i walked in until the time i left, it was an absolute satisfaction. I loved the energy of the workers there. as soon as i told them it was my first time there, they started suggesting dishes on the menu. they recommended i get the cashew chicken with their house dressing. It was the most delicious wrap ive had. very fresh. They even brought it out to my table. the gentleman that seemed to be in charge there, checked on me and was very charming and adorable. He complimented me on my hair. I felt very welcomed. The main reason why i support local restaurants. Im originally from Oklahoma and in town for a short time but I will definitely recommend this place to everyone. KUDOS guys!

Driven by this place and decided the yelp reviews gave me a reason to stop in. The mahi mahi tacos were recommend by the worker & another patron near by. They did not disappoint. They were hot and fresh. It had a great blend of flavors spicy, sweet, & crunchy. My daughter got the daily special- chicken pesto quinoa wrap. It was good for the first few bites but the bitterness of the spinach & too much pesto took its toll. I will definitely come back & try another item or get the tacos again. Price was reasonable for the three tacos or the huge wrap.

I nearly inhaled the tacos! If you're not obsessed with pico de gallo then I recommend telling them to take it easy... I think their tacos and burritos should come with lettuce and shredded cheese... I know it's not really authentic mexican food but even Chipotle offers those ingredients.

Yum! Amazingly fresh and delicious. Huge portions were a plus. Better yet, the food is cook to order, so it has not been sitting around.

I work close, so I'm here often. It's an easy order then have your name called process. All wraps can be changed to salads. Several sides to choose from. Specials every day. Try a wrap with quinoa. Thai chicken wrap is my usual order and never disappoints. Share a brownie!

First time at Twisted and I will without a doubt be coming back soon! I heard the customer in front of me talking about the Mahi Mahi Tacos and decided I would give them a try since he kept going on and on about how incredible they are. He could not have been more right! Wow...I can't wait to come back for more! They are spicy, yet sweet fish tacos with slaw and spicy aioli. I opted out of the pico de gallo that normally comes standard. I could not be happier with my experimental lunch choice today! Fast and friendly service with incredible food. It's listed as Fast Food but I would rather call it...."Quick Eats" as fast food seems to have a negative connotation. Again...couldn't be happier! Go here, don't think, just do it and you will NOT be disappointed!

I heard good things about this place so I really wanted to like it. Unfortunately the high prices for what you get are highway robbery and the quality of the food was less than what you'd find at a questionable food truck on a drunken Friday night. First off, I ordered the special of the day which was Kung Pao Chicken, which I assumed was going to be tacos, but apparently it was a wrap, would have been nice if the special stated what form it came in. Anyways, that was $7.50. I thought for that price it would come with a drink or something, but nope. Extra $2 or so for a drink. So I paid roughly $10 for a small-ish wrap, 2 teaspoons of potato salad and a drink. On to the review of the food quality: So my wrap contained quinoa, cabbage, carrots, peanuts and a nice sweet/tangy sauce along with some chicken. The only real problem I had was that the chicken was damn near inedible. I don't exaggerate often, so please take my word when I say that this was the absolute chewiest chicken I've ever had in my life. I honest to god thought it was made with a real rubber chicken. It was so bad I had to take it out of my wrap, and I just ate it vegetarian. I chose the potato salad to go with my little wrap, and you get about 2 spoonfuls of this "side item." This was the blandest potato salad I've ever had. It wasn't creamy or anything, no flavor. It tasted like they just added some mayo to a bowl with mustard grain and that's it. Really unimpressed overall. I wouldn't recommend this place to any of my friends, but if you're determined to try it, stay away from the rubber chicken. TL:DR- Rubber, chewy chicken wrap (small). Flavorless potato salad (2 spoonfuls), and a drink for ~$9.50. Not recommended, but if you go here, order something other than chicken.

Went there during a lunch break and the place was packed! Almost didn't find a spot to sit, but I would have stood and ate if it came down to it! The food came out fast and it was awesome! I had the cajun chicken tacos and my boyfriend had the gyro wrap. We both agreed that they were awesome! I can't wait to go again.

So the wife and I went to Twisted Fresh over the weekend. They make tacos, looks a lot like a chipotle except not as upscale. My first impression was that the place looked a little dirty and small. So we went and ordered and they used Ipads to create the order. They gave me the ipad to pay and a page came up for the tip. the options were 15,20,and 25%. I chose zero because I had to stand at a counter to order, had to fill my won soft drink, and clear my own table. My thinking was that after I ate if I felt I needed to leave a tip I'll leave a buck or two on the table. I was commenting to my wife how this made me feel cheap to feel like I was supposed to leave a tip and didn't. I noticed that several other people left a tip and other people got their food brought out to them. When my order was ready, they called my name and made me walk over and get it. I didn't mind walking over and getting it, especially if they think a trip across the restaurant was worth a 20% tip on twenty bucks for a few tacos. I was just shocked at this kind of service. I've never seen this before. I ordered the fish tacos. I love fish tacos. These had good reviews on yelp, but I wasn't impressed. Too much slaw and too runny. The shell was a novel idea but wasn't enough to make up for the rest of it.

I work close by so I frequent this place often. It used to be mouth-watering delcious... until recently. Since about October of last year I have continued to get just okay food. For the price I pay to come here for a healthier lunch I expect to enjoy it. I have ordered wraps the past couple of times and they have been thrown together or cut so horrible it turns into a fork and knife meal after two bites. I can't say I'll be coming as often until they get their game back.

Food is very good but this place is way too cold. A 62 degree day they had the ceiling fans on and the air conditioning going full blast. Maybe takeout?

Great little place! I had the mahi tacos and they were full of flavor and loaded with goodness. There are a lot of unique items of the menu, I'm looking forward to trying more of them! Definitely a nice change from the usual!

I was on my way to Wendy's and saw a healthier alternative....so I decided to try it. The guy at the register was super helpful and recommended a few things with substitutions. I ordered the Chicken Cashew wrap with the honey aoli. Seriously delish. Will definitely be coming back!!!!

This is a new business near JCCC. I was actually headed to eat at another restaurant in the area and noticed they were now opened so gave them a try. I ordered the Caribbean Jerk Chicken wrap. It comes with your choice of potato salad, chips, or an apple. I chose the apple as potato salad or chips didn't sound appealing with the wrap I chose. The wrap was lacking in chicken and had an abundance of the Asian slaw which overpowered the taste of everything else. It had good flavor, but it would be nice to taste the other items on the wrap. I pulled out a few pieces of chicken so I could taste them. I did not taste much spice on them alone, although the overall wrap did have some heat to it. Not sure if the jerk seasoning is added to the wrap instead of the chicken? The chicken pieces were a little on the dry side. The service was friendly and quick. The set up looks like it could be a nightmare if they get busy. The register, menu, and ordering area is right inside the door and that seems to be where you also pick up your food. This area is not very big so if a Chipotle like line formed, it would be quickly out the door. The space is very open with ample seating. Nothing exciting decor wise. I will stop by again and give their tacos and burgers a try. It seemed like most of the people had tacos or salads as I looked around or listened to people ordering as they came in. I probably won't rush back for a wrap as it was a little disappointing.

The only bad thing about this place is that they close too early on Mondays. Other than that the tacos are amazing.

Healthy never tasted soooo good! This is one of my favorite lunch spots, turned on to me by a friend who knows the owner. The theme here is definitely FRESH. The kitchen is open so you can watch them build your wrap or tacos before your eyes. My favs include the Jerk Chicken Wrap and the Fish Tacos. Yum! Patio and free Wi-Fi. :) Bonus - they have also implemented a new rewards program - ask your server!

I've been into Twisted three times now and every time the food has been really good! Great stop for lunch. Priced fairly for the portions and quality. I highly recommend the mahi mahi tacos, carribean jerk chicken wrap, and the hot and spicy thai chicken. Fair warning - all of those do have a bit of a kick, but good flavor hot and not just hot for the sake of being hot. My hubby had the cajun chicken tacos and they were much milder than we expected, so they were just different than we expected but not bad. Service is always friendly and quick. Can't wait to go back and try some more!

I recently moved from the Gulf Coast area to KC and have been skeptical about any sort of seafood taco in the Midwest (comparatively speaking). Boy, was I wrong. The Mahi Mahi tacos did NOT disappoint and were outstanding. The additional sauces they offered by the drink station were great too (the name slips me at the moment). Very fresh, very quick, very good!

This quick stop for wraps and tacos is tucked into a strip mall near College and Quivira. To be honest, I am at the point where I prefer their wraps, especially the Thai Chicken, to the burrito mega-store up the street. It has a fresher taste and you don't feel like you are getting meat, veggies, and sauce that have been cooking for a while with the same old spices. Staff and service is laser-fast. I paid my tab and didn't even have a chance to sit down (to check in on Yelp) before they called out my order. TF offers a side with their wraps and tacos. Though normally tasty and filling, the potato salad was lacking on my last visit. You really don't need a side, however, once you take on their good sized wraps. Highly recommend this for a fresh, healthy, and fast option for dinner or lunch.

I've been here numerous times and almost always get the same thing - the mahi mahi tacos turned into a salad. They basically deconstruct the tacos and serve it over mixed greens. The Siracha dressing is spicy and amazing! This is my go to when I'm in the mood for a great salad. It's always consistent and on point. I always carry out because I live so close and prefer my dining room to theirs.

Traveling from out of state - came based off of yelp reviews and was NOT disappointed! Food was absolutely delicious.. fast but fresh.. Lots of unique flavors and combos - group got the mahi mahi and beef tacos.. And the buffalo chicken wrap and everyone was thoroughly satisfied! Would definitely recommend!

I went to Twisted today with a work colleague, and we were thoroughly-pleased with everything. The service was great. Someone even asked me what name was on my order to let me know it was coming up. You didn't see any employees standing around, twiddling thumbs... We were there during the lunch rush. Our togo orders came out quickly. The place was very clean and tidy. But here's what really got my attention... The Mahi-Mahi Tacos! Wow, they were awesome! All of the ingredients are grilled and fresh. The flavor was outstanding. The sauce on the tacos was a "Sriracha Honey Aeoli." I was surprised that it wasn't very spicy at all. Next time, I'm going to ask them to add more Sriracha, which it appears they do keep on hand. We ordered a few other things, and I won't deliberate - but everything was really good. They are grilling the meats real-time, and the flavor is outstanding! We both said we'll repeat visit this place. I recommend you do the same.

I had the bacon burger. It was very tasty. The tiny cup of potato salad was also good, but left me wanting more. For the price paid, I think you could do much better elsewhere, and I likely won't go back, but the place is popular so maybe it's just me.

We love this place. I generally watch what I eat and I love how you can make any wrap into an amazing salad with fresh ingredients! We eat here often, I haven't had anything I didn't like. The restaurant is small, so if you plan on going for lunch try for an 'off time' (like 11:30 or 1) if you want a table.

  • Stacy M.

This place is SO good! I got the beef tacos and they were excellent. The portion was huge and it tasted really fresh. The service was also friendly and quick. I'm so glad there is another unique place to eat!!!

  • Lee P.

This place is fantastic. The food is fresh and is made to order. I enjoyed the beef tacos. They were 3 large tacos stuffed with fresh ingredients including large slices of avocado . The menu has a lot of variety with great wraps, sandwiches, burgers, and tacos. My next trip I am going to try the Cajun Mahi Mahi Tacos. The location is a little funky which is in a older strip business center that has had some problems keeping businesses and needs to be updated. However the inside of twisted is very nice neat and modern. If you're in the area and need to grab something quick that does not taste quick try this place you will love it

    (5)
  • Mike B.

Wow, this place rocks. I will say this, I only had one meal the recommended "maui fish tacos" these were outstanding and jumbo, was completely full after polishing off the three of them. They have sandwiches, burger, wraps, and salads...give it a try.

  • Pat B.

This was the first time I've eaten in Twisted Fresh...I had a wrap sandwich and considered it very average! The establishment is open, airy and clean...I will only come back if I happened to be in the neighborhood!
