I enjoyed my three piece chicken meal. It's an occasional guilty pleasure. The chicken was delicious, the fries were tasty, the cole slaw was just right, and the serving sizes were generous. I found the service to be fast, and friendly. The dining area was clean, with a 50's decor, and music from that era. Also, frosty glass mugs were available for your root beer, or other favorite fountain drink.

I wouldn't consider LJS for a meal unless it was a Friday in Lent. This trip was just the case, my second trip here in as many Lenten seasons. Regardless of the time of year you visit, you're going to eat the same thing - fried fish, shrimp, chicken, and hush puppies. There really isn't much meat to speak of inside all that breading and doughy crispness. It's fast food and you're going to get what you pay for. I ordered the fish platter, a mishmash of the items listed above. Lots of fried stuff and grease at the bottom of the to-go container. I'll blame my post meal stomach cramps on the removal of fast food from my diet, not on the food or prep itself. As far as fast food fish goes, this place is among the top...but then again if you run a race with two people, you're going to get a medal regardless of where you finish.

I have fond memories of this chain so I thought I would give it a try since I also like A&W root beer which they serve. The cashier didn't know what kind of fish they serve and customer service is lacking here. The fish was salty and not crisp like I remember it used to be. The cook dumped a bunch of residual fried matter onto my plate under my fish. Not very nice or appealing. See picture. The best thing I had was the root beer and cole slaw. Done with this chain forever. My first one star.

I worked at Long Johns many years ago and you would think I would never want to eat the food again, but every once in a while I get a craving for a fish sandwich or some clams or some other greasy badness and swing by one. This location always has fresh food and friendly service. They also have a A&W and the hamburgers are decent for fast food. I rarely drink soda, but the root beer is delicious. I like the options of healthier sides, corn, green beans, etc. because when eating all that greasy, battered food, it makes you feel better and gives a little balance.

Hey, it's my fast-food guilty pleasure, OK? Don't hate. Sometimes you get an urge that only a hunk of greasy, oily fish can satisfy. Unfortunately, the hushpuppies were tough & lifeless, and the service at the drive-thru window was slower than molasses in January. Can't say I recommend it, but I'll likely be back anyway.

Ah yes... Long John Silvers ARRGH MATEY ARRGH. I'll be having the combo#4, fries for slaw or me hook goes in your face, shiver me timbers arrrgh. Okay - so I am horrible at imitating a lousy pirate, but I do like the chicken and fish combo once in a great moon. I never eat in because I am always on the go and this type of finger food is perfect while driving. What I dislike about this place is that it is expensive for a meal. You are looking at about 9-10 bucks for a meal... Crazy!

The was a LJS/AW combo. The floor was sticky, root beer was flat, , and dirty grease for fries. The only thing that kept us in the story was that the workers were ignoring their manager and trying to help us the best they could. Koodos to them.
