Yum. Yum. Yum! Freddy's is always wonderful. Great food and the service is spectacular! You won't get these offerings at McDonald's!

Freddy's burgers are good and fries are among my all time favorite in fast food. When choosing my fast food burger joints, there are three things that lead to genuine satisfaction. The first is nice crispy fries. Secondly is a burger worth dying for (probably due to the cheese and grease). Lastly, is decent service. I'm not looking for award winning service at a fast food restaurant but I don't plan on being in line or stuck in a drive through for an excessive amount of time. Freddy's did great in every category that I care about so I will be visiting this location again.

We've just now tried Freddy's. I don't know why we've waited this long. We were just kind of bored on a Saturday evening and decide to give this place a try. I got a burger which was really good....You know how usually you have more bun than burger....well this was not the case here. I felt like I should have pick a table in the back corner and just ate alone because it was so messy and I just got a regular double hamburger. My husband got a hotdog and the first thing he says is...this is a Vienna Beef hotdog! We've been looking for Vienna Beef hotdogs in KS for ever. He's from Chicago so he said he just knew...and we looked over and saw a sign that say "proudly serving Vienna Beef hotdogs" haha! The fries are good but chili cheese fries are really good ;) Kids also got the oreo custard which was good too. The reason I gave this place so many stars was not only for the good food but for the service. The staff here was awesome....every last one of them. They were genuinely friendly and very helpful. I saw them walking around giving random people free sundaes and I totally forgot that I like their chili cheese fries until I got my meal w/ my naked fries...so I took my plate back up to the counter (yes, they looked at me like oh shit what did we do wrong) and I said can I pay for chili and cheese on my fries and the guy said No, but I'll bring some to your table for you, No charge...What??? For real! I'll be coming back for sure, not because I got something for free but just because they're so nice

Key tip- order the patty melt with fries, the fries come with an incredible frie sauce, dip the patty melt in the sauce...something HOLY Happens. .wow! Is it Nirvana, is it my wife in a bikini. .not that good, but its one damn fine combo. Enjoy! The chilli and the custard are also very good.

We had a chili dog craving and Freddy's exceeded our expectations! The chili dogs come smothered in chili, cheese and onions (just how I like them!) a little messy, a fork is a must. We also sampled the fries and a strawberry shake. The fries are the thin shoestring style and were very good. The shake was hand-spun with chunks of strawberries and served with an oversized straw for slurping this shake down. Really cool place and we will have to come back again to try the burgers next time.

First off. place was dirty. dirty tables dirty floors. Though I had stumbled into McDonalds by mistake. the chili was like Alpo mix... luckily they give you only a tiny cup for 4.69. you can get so much better chili at Wendys for half the price. Only thing worse was the onion rings.---- bland beyond belief. The only redeeming quality was decent fries. No way am i coming back.... unless I need a case of dysentary! ..... hold your horses. Just went to bathroom....filthy beyond belief..... best to stay away!!!

I very much enjoy their burgers and fries. I always have to order a double, or bigger because of their thin patties. They also accommodate for my gluten sensitivity by wrapping my burger in some lettuce leaves. This location has always wrapped up my burger very tightly, so nothing comes out. We have never had an issue with service.

Review #600 goes to a mediocre burger! I had been to Freddy's once before in Lawrence and left fairly blasé. These fast food places are becoming more and more boring. And as far as fast food places go, this one is right up there for attracting overweight people. I'm not small person myself, but it was very difficult to find someone here who wasn't well in to the "obese" category. And the smell...it's terrible - just oil, fat, grease, nastiness. The one in Lawrence would get in to your clothes and skin...and while that wasn't the case at this relatively new Olathe location, just give it a few months. Disgusting. So, obviously, we got to-go food. I had a burger, and my fiance had a hot dog. Both of them were average, and I wouldn't ever crave either. The fries are decent, but I am not a fan of shoestring fries so...meh. The layout of the interior is just absolutely cramped and difficult to navigate. If you get to-go food, there is no clear pathway to the exit, which seemed to be the case in the Lawrence store as well. Not a good setup. It's loud, cramped, crowded. No thanks.

This place has the most amazing steak burgers ever! I also love how every single person who works there are nice and extremely helpful. My boyfriend and I make a weekly trip to Freddy's we love it so much! Something to always look forward to and they have never let us down! :)

I am a big fan of Freddy's. I love their double cheeseburger and fries. Their concretes with frozen custard are very good too. If I had to say anything negative about this place is that when I go through the drive thru they do no give you as many fries as they do when you eat inside.

  • Samantha P.

Very disappointing. Poor service. Waited 20 minutes to be served ice cream that was already melted. Culver's is much better. Will not go back here.

Always love a good burger (or Steakburger). I also enjoy trying new restaurants. You can tell this is a new location by the abundance of staff and being asked how everything is by all 25 of them, one after each bite. The Steakburger is good but lacks flavor. The fries and good but are so thin they have established equilibrium from pickup window to table, without stopping for ketchup. I didn't try the custard, maybe that would have turned it around for me. Freddy seems to be a great guy from all the pictures of him. I will try again to see if we can go up a star or two.

One order of fries will easily feed two, perhaps more... If you're with a dainty group. This place is solid every time. Double-bacon cheeseburger never disappoints. Never. Solid, affordable, and consistent.

  • Kay L.

Decent burgers, although the patties are so thin you really need to order a double to feel like you're eating something. They smash them so flat that the edges get that lacy crispy edge, which is yummy, but there's just not much to them. I like mine California-style, which I suppose is meant to be like In-n-Out, but there's no grilled onions. :-( How come no one knocks off animal style in the Midwest??!! The crispy shoestring fries are good, though, and the shakes are a creamy custard treat. Service was friendly.

It's fast food, so nothing wild and crazy going on here. My least favorite menu item: the french fries. They are so shoe-stringy. If you're trying to eat them in the car (while driving in traffic, your knee on the steering wheel, and your cell phone in the other) they'll fall all over the place because if you remove one from the box, about a dozen kamikaze out of the box after it. It's like eating little fried pieces of nothing. Very little potato taste. Because there is no potato. BUT, everything else is tasty. I prefer the California burger (single or double). The greasiness and the Freddy's sauce combined make for the perfect fast-food burger. It's the type of burger that's flat, smashed on the grill (similar to Hi-Boy, for the local folks). And just about anything on the menu can and should be dipped in their Freddy's sauce, which is some sort of witch's brew -- not sure what it's made of.

The burgers are really thin and not big on flavor. The custard is pretty pricey, but very tasty.

For what it is, Freddy's does really well. Some of the reviewers seem to say they liked the food and service, but still gave a mediocre review. This makes me wonder if they are comparing Freddy's to a fine dining establishment. As a fast food restaurant, this place has quick and good service, delicious burgers and tasty frozen custard treats. Now that said, I wouldn't give them a perfect score. But they definitely deserve 4 stars. Great job Freddy's!

  • Caleb W.

The food was good. However the veggie burger I got seemed to fall apart way easy. The fries are way too small (in my opinion) but they give you a ton of them. The service was good. They were prompt in asking if everything was good along with taking the empty food baskets.

    (3)
  • Nick Z.

Not sure why Freddy's has low reviews, because I'm definitely a fan. Burgers are big, thin, juicy patties topped with fresh ingredients. The Freddy's sauce is pretty amazing. I also love the thin fries, all of them are fully cooked and crispy (compared to places with thicker fries). Restaurant is clean and staff was pleasant.

Burgers bore me, but if I'm going to have one outside of a barbecue, I'll choose Freddy's. It beats Five Guys buy a mile! I usually do a single California, though I don't know what's "California" about it. And I figure if I'm loading up on calories, I may as well bring it on home with chili cheese fries. It's pretty gross, but freaking delicious. I don't like skinny fries, so I fatten them up, I guess. :) Outside of Hayes, I can't think of another burger I'd want in a 100-mile radius. If you don't mind turning into the size of a house, try the chili cheese fries.

I love their frozen custard; specifically the concrete with pb, marshmallow, and hot fudge. Just describing it almost puts me in a sugar coma! I had a burger there once and it was so-so (I agree with another reviewer that it's better than 5 guys). Also not too fond of the skinny fries. I'd rather have onion rings or sweet potato fries. Overall I like this place.

Wow, five stars on a fast food place but it is well deserved. Really clean inside and out with delicious burgers AND fries. I'm from out of town, so moving away from In n out was pretty brutal. Thankfully I found a new burger place that's delicious in their own way. The manager even checked up on me to see if my meal was what I wanted, which is more than the local Applebee's did ;)

I'm not the biggest burger fanatic but my family does enjoy this place when they want fast food. When I am in the mood for a burger, I like to get the california burger! I'm a sauce freak and love the freddy's sauce! My kids love to dip everything in the fry sauce too! They also love the skinny fries. The custard here is pretty good as well. I also like the oreo custard cookie sandwich there!

Stopped here about a week after it opened to try it out. The burgers were good and nice flavor I thought. The fries are shoe string style with a nice crunch. They also have a dipping sauce for the fries along with ketchup. The decor looks like a 50's style diner. The prices are kind of high for the burgers though. Also we got some shakes for dessert. They were tiny for the price I thought. Almost $8 for two medium shakes. Don't know if the food is that good to make up for the high prices.

I tried Freddy's once in Lawrence and I didn't understand the hype. I figured being their was a new one in the neighborhood I would give them a try. I got the burger and hot dog combo to try some of everything. There is nothing special about them. The burgers are just a typical fast food burger. Save you time and drop over to Five Guys for a much better options. The hot dog is tough, I have never had a tough hot dog before. You can not cut through it with a spoon (I had to use my concrete spoon because they didn't give me a fork.) I added chili on it and the chili is bland, no spice to it. The fries are awful. I do not understand the desire for skinny fries. All crunch and no meat. A good fry is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, these are crunchy sticks. I completed my meal with a turtle concrete. Again, nothing special. You can get the same at Sheridans, Cold Stone, etc. For a restaurant that just opened, the place was dead. I am not sure another restaurant was needed in the restaurant alley of 119th street in Olathe, especially boring fast food. There have been many places come and go in this little area, it will be interesting to see if Freddy's makes it with the competition.
