This place is close to the office and a nice change from the fast food chains in the area, even if it's sandwiches. I love the Popeye and beer chips but I've never had a disappointing meal. The tortilla chips are on the salty side but during happy hour you can just drink more and that problem is taken care of! Service is great during happy hour, over lunch is hit or miss depending on staff. I've had a waitress hand mix a cherry Coke for me (awesome!) and I've been totally ignored after receiving my food because the waitress was busy flirting with a guy sitting at the bar.

This place was a great bar and if you want to drink and watch the game. It's Kstate themed, which is fine..but I'm a Jayhawk fan ;-) but still a nice place. Food selection is not very good, was at Old settlers Day and wanted to eat dinner but they have 3 apps and sandwiches. If they would have had burgers and fries probably would have stayed! All in all an okay place.

I tried the "belly buster" - unfortunate name but it sounded good. Was not worth the price - supposed to be a hot sandwich but was still a little cold in the middle - and the cheese was yellow american that tasted like government cheese and/or the cheese that they put on hoagies in the school cafeteria!

Great place and great food. This place has a fun atmosphere with a cute back patio area to hang out. Only drawback is that sometimes the food seems like it can take a while. But it's a fun place to hang out with friends and watch a game!

Lunch: This should have been an easy meal to execute. It wasn't. I ordered a chili cheese dog and a bag of chips. The beef hot dog was petrified to the point of looking like a "little smokie" or beef jerkey. Bag of beer chips was the highlight of this visit. I wish I had my phone with me to take a picture of this pile of S@*% on my plate. No bun in sight no hot dog to be seen. The service was the worst. I thought I was on "John Keonis - What would you do". We sat at the bar and the guy literally never spoke a word during our whole transaction. No greeting , no follow-up, no thank you - nothing. I didn't think that was possible, but it can be done at Dub V's. I think they have to know you to get any type of service. Won't be going back. Note to bartender, owner, server whoever you were - don't pick up the drink pitchers by putting your fingers inside the pitcher. Use the handles.

Hubby and I decided to eat there in the afternoon after the lunch crowd. He got the Big Joe and I got the Chicago Hot Dog. The menu provided a decent variety of foods. The food was good and I liked the casual atmosphere. The bartender/server was friendly and the food was served fairly quickly. I enjoyed my experience there in the city square of Olathe and would definitely go there again.

I just moved here from San Diego and wondered where I would find a great place to drink beer. Found it! Thanks Willie, great bar.

This may be a good place to go on a weekend to watch a game and hang out with friends. But that is really all I see as being a possible plus. I ordered the Sweet Hot Beaver Sandwich (I had to!) It was roast beef, turkey, lettuce, tomato, provolone, and mustard. The roast beef is fatty. That right there ruins the sandwich. Buy a decent cut of roast that is lean. I ordered potato salad for the side. It was very basic and the portion was 3-4 bites. I had a whiskey sour with my meal. Apparently I have been spoiled by some decent quality well whiskey sours because my last couple of experiences haven't been that great, including this one. Seriously, how tough is it to make a decent whiskey sour? The manager or owner, guessing who he was as he was sitting at a table on a laptop appearing to be working, kept going behind the bar and switching the music. About half way through every song he would change the selection. I have to say this was pretty annoying. He may want to spend some time after hours checking out the options to know what he likes to listen to. All of the options were alternative slanted, and I enjoyed most of the music, just would have been nice to hear a full song. He did finally settle on a station that was mostly top 40 alternative. The bar has a KState vibe which is nice in an area that is overly KU. I know KU is closer, but seriously, they only have one successful sports program... Lunch has that "I'm a lawyer" vibe with all the suits who fight traffic tickets in the area with the courthouse across the street. I am betting the same vibe fills the bar for happy hour. There is a patio behind the bar, but that is where the smokers go. If you park in back, which is the only place to have a chance of finding a parking place during the weekdays, you will probably encounter a smoke cloud just to get through the door. Places like this really need to designate a smoking area away from other patrons and not at the entry way. Service was lacking. I got my drink. I got the kneel down beside the table acting like my buddy order taking, my food was delivered and that was it until I was done for a few and made eye contact to get the servers attention in order to get a to go container(which was a plastic bag.) Granted, he was doing a great job of taking care of and checking on the people sitting next to me because their order was prepared incorrectly. I noticed a guy at the bar who ordered a glass of wine and was treated to a nice glass of Franzia. I don't have issues with box wine, some is really good, but this just added to my perception that the owners first concern was with profit margin (cheap roast beef, small portions, plastic bag for taking my leftover sandwich home, etc.) and not customer quality. There was nothing that really won me over with this experience, except the name of the sandwich which entertained my inner Beavis and Butthead. I don't see me going back based on today's experience. Bummer because I was eyeing the Cuban also..

Went to Dub V's for lunch with some coworkers.I had the SSSSPORK sandwich on ciabatta bread with a side of their queso dip and chips. The sandwich was awesome. Nice juicy pork, fresh bread, and I really enjoyed the "super secret Sriracha sour cream". I guess that is the "SSSS" in the sandwich name. While the sandwich was delicious and satisfying, I can't say I recommend spending the extra $1.50 on the queso and chips. It was good, but was a really small portion size and the small handful of chips I got wasn't enough to even use the small dollop of queso I got. The joint is definitely owned by some hardcore KSU fans, but I didn't hear a thing about my KU shirt from anyone. Service was good. Bartender was pulling double duty serving all of the customers in the place, and she was doing a good job. If you are in the area, and looking for a non-chain place for a decent sandwich, I'd say it is worth the stop in my opinion.

Over priced deli sandwiches. Serves was good but the food was way overpriced for what you get. This would be a great place to meet friends for a drink, but not the best place for a lunch date

This is a copy of the infamous Rock-A-Belly Deli in Manhattan KS. Awesome food, the owner is very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed...as long as there is not a K-State game playing! Awesome little out of the way sandwich shop!

Short and sweet: this is a great little dive bar. No frills or flash, good ol fashioned American bar.

Nice little bar with a good variety of bar food minus the burger but it's worth it. A wide variety of cold n hot sandwiches are very filling. It's a full bar with great happy hour specials. Great music and video games!! Bartender provided good service. If u want a no frills bar with great food and very reasonable prices, this is it.

Oh... my... gawd. I adore this place. Something cool in Olathe? Who knew? OK, OK, that wasn't fair. So here's the deal. This is your regular kind of old downtown joint with decent bar food, friendly service, a few TVs (but not enough or loud enough to distract from conversation) and $2 pints of O'Dell's 90 Shilling. BOOM! New fan. No pretense, fun atmosphere, good outdoor patio, good selection of drinkees. Me likes!

Downtown Olathe an Epicurious wasteland no more! Seriously have you ever tried to find a decent meal or drink in downtown Olathe before? It's been long overdue. So, the next time you are getting a divorce, paying a fine for possession, or bailing your brother out of jail; stop in at Dub V's. Seriously, these are the times when you need good food and Alcohol the most! I like the Cuban, but you should also give the Nachos a go or any of the other sandwich selections. I'm a fan of the Beer Chips for my side. Who has Beer Chips out there? The food is good and the staff will go out of there way to take care of you. As mentioned in the another review there is some Manhattan Rock-a-Belly going on here. It's right next to the Courthouse on Cherry. Also, they have a great patio out back and you will find additional parking out back as well. If you are in the area for Old Settler's you are obligated to give this place a try!

After reading the reviews and thinking this would be a good meal - it was all quite the opposite. Short Answer: Service was horrible and no apologies were made for it Food was nothing to warrant a return visit Contrary to a few people who reported good service - they must have been the only people in the place when they went there to eat. We had ZERO service for the first 5 minutes (sitting at the bar) while staff wandered around and ignored us. The place was less than half full on a Sunday afternoon. After finally taking our drink order, it was a long time before we saw our drinks. And then they were never refilled again until we were ready to leave - and they thought to ask if we'd like one's to go. Uh - okay... (?) We (and the person next to us who ordered a sandwich to go) (and the two tables sitting near us) all waited OVER 45 minutes - for simple sandwiches and salads. Isn't this a "sandwich shop"??? Shouldn't food be able to be prepared and delivered to 3 tables (and a to-go order) within about 15 minutes (TOPS)? Apparently not. While the other person in my party thought her sandwich was good - my salad had wilted lettuce and the tough core pieces throughout it. Seriously - how hard is it to mess up a salad? Even if her sandwich was good - it is NOT worth the wait or the randomness of the staff and their service. They also neglected to bring silverware to me for my salad - of which I had to ask for - and then waited another four minutes (because I was actually timing it at this point to see how long it would take) and at that point - I walked to the other end of the bar where the waitresses and various other staff were all standing but not really doing anything... and asked again. As we were getting ready to pay and leave (thank the stars we had a Perks deal or I would have considered leaving before we ever got our food)... but we asked for a to-go box for the other half of her sandwich and chips and queso. After asking the staff (again) - she hands us a plastic bag not much larger than a ziplok and says we use these for to-go boxes. What? So we had an open-ended (non-closing) clear plastic bag to take her sandwich, chips, and no-lidded queso in. Whatever... I just saw you hand the guy who waited 45 minutes a styrofoam lidded container for his order. Needless to say - we will not be back and will be sure to tell anyone who ventures down to that part of Olathe to avoid at all costs. You will get better service, pleasant staff, and food served in a timely manner at the worst McDonald's you can find.

Great clean bar&grill. Big KState vibe. Service was a little slow but the sandwiches were fantastic. We were in town for the holidays and it was out first time there an we will definitely be back.

I came in with a good friend, who was wearing her Jayhawk shirt. As a KSU grad, I loved that they teased her about it! We were just in there to enjoy some Happy Hour for Girl Time, but I liked what I ordered. The Spicy Avocado Turkey Sliders were tasty and the nachos were extremely large portions. I would have liked them better if the Chicken was shredded instead of that precooked Tyson cubes... The drinks looked good, but we did't try them. Guess I'll have to come back- maybe for a Caturday!

They have great food and nice staff, especially for a K-Stater's place ; ). Go with the Uncle Rico if you like a little kick. All the sandwiches I've had there were top shelf. It is a basic bar/deli, but still plenty of excellent options.

Good little pub on downtown Olathe. Pluses: very well prepared menu items, but the menu is VERY LIMITED. I mean NO Burgers! Minuses: as stated, a very limited menu--sandwiches and a daily soup. Good Mexican items. I love their pork tacos (their Tuesday special), but don't expect to get anything other than chips and salsa with them, nor try for corn tortillas--they only make 'me with flour tortillas. They focus mainly on beer and have some mixed drinks. If you're a wine drinker, find another place (like granite city or Barley's Brewhouse), since they have only box wine. Also, if you drink wheat beer, bring your own orange, since the owner doesn't have them! Thinking about it, I think I'm rating it a 3-star because what they do have is pretty good and it is pretty clean, friendly and good place to watch a game. But, not a flexible place at all. Customer service is not so great.

Seriously why haven't I been here sooner? This place is nice and clean, awesome service and awesome customers. We went in on a Tuesday night, no it wasn't busy but there were a few people in there, bought a couple drinks and guess what....everyone introduced themselves to us!!! Pretty cool right where...no stuck up joco folks in here for sure! I had the spicy avocado turkey it was pretty darn good! and the Beer chips were pretty awesome too! I would recommend this place to anyone, good service, good food, clean place.
