I grew up in Mac and make it back to see family once or twice a year. I was a first timer here today. I had a 1/2 Club and a bowl of potato soup. The future in-laws had quiche. Everything tasted great! I would have liked the soup to be a little thicker- just a personal preference and I admit to being somewhat of a food snob. You can expect friendly counter service and plenty of seating. Tasty, friendly and roomy... Good job!

The Deli has been a family staple for a couple of decades. They have great sandwiches, savory soups, and oatmeal cookies. When we come to visit family in town we always hit the Deli. My favorite is the Reuben. Generous portion with a great combination of flavors. Give it a try, but save room for the chocolate cream pie. If you're traveling north on I35 out of Wichita, toward Nebraska, stop in at the Deli. You'll be glad you did.

Food was great and it was a nice atmosphere. I had the general and everything is super fresh on it. The line took a bit and the wait took a bit but over all this was a great restaurant. Oh and the chocolate chip cookie is amazing.

The Main Street Deli has some absolutely delicious sandwiches. That's all there is to it. I guess I'll elaborate some, though... The only "reuben" I ever had before trying the Deli's was from my college cafeteria. Now THERE's a bad move. Luckily now that I've had the Deli's my hope in sandwiches has been restored. Whenever I go in (which has been sadly, few and far between due to my fierce loyalty to another locally-owned cafe in town) I either get the Reuben or make my own sandwich. Don't forget the raspberry honey mustard! It is so good it will make your head spin. Their soup is average, but I love the fact that it is available in a bread bowl--something I just love. I wish they'd sell their chipotle lime black bean soup like they did in 2007, but a girl can dream. All in all, if someone suggests Main Street Deli for lunch or dinner, I am SO THERE!

Great food with a wide selection, good service with a smile, and a nice environment to boot! Kim, the owner, is a pleasant lady that will go the extra mile to make you happy and I really enjoy the vibe I get from the store considering it is in NoWhereVille, USA. I thought it cool that the tables and orders were assigned based on influential people throughout history from Gandhi to Mr. Rogers. Stop in to the Main Street Deli for quality food and know that you are supporting a well run and intentioned mom-and-pop.

I was in town briefly on Saturday for my niece's graduation. Our family stopped in for dinner before the ceremony. My wife and I both had their Reuben and it was one of the best I've ever had. As a bonus there are some great novelty and gift items.

I love this deli-- I travel to McPherson regularly, and lunch at this deli never disappoints. Good portions, nice Americana atmophere, great taste, reasonable price. A regular place for me...

Hands down the best sandwiches I've ever had! (I know, most of my reviews have been raves, but I'll soon eat somewhere crappy then shred it to pieces on here until i get enough reviews to be respectable) but all that being said, this is truly a place that cannot be passed up if you are in McPherson. The bird's eye and the pioneer are among the best of their sandwiches in my humble opinion, and they have homemade desserts that are out of sight! A truly wonderful place.

If you are looking for a quick bite to eat, this is the place. I no longer reside in Mac, but I remember this place specifically for how good their sandwiches are! The space itself is right on Main Street. It's kept clean and the staff are very friendly. The longest I've ever had to wait for my food was 10 minutes, but I came in during lunch and understand they are busy. I usually got the bird's eye sandwich with everything on it... All I have to say is that it beats out every other lunch place in Mac with just this sandwich alone If you have a couple extra minutes, then check out their store as well. Lots of fun little nic-knacks to give as gifts or for fun to people.

The deli has been a staple if mine since if was in high school, I've since moved away from McPherson but make sure to get my pie fix every time I am home! My moms office is just next door so it's an easy choice for me when I am home visiting. While I have always live the pioneer sandwich my favorite item on the menu would have to be the broccoli cheese soup in a bread bowl! Oh and don't forget to try a slice of pie, homemade each day and is beyond amazing!! The atmosphere is so cozy, yes it's old and a bit outdated but this is a must if you're ever in the area. Not only do they have amazing food but they have a gift shop in the front, which comes in handy if you're there during the lunch rush, which lasts from 11-1:30.

Consistently great sandwiches, soups and salads! And all at a reasonable price. It's all very fresh and tasty. The little nick-knacks are always fun to check out while waiting for your food. They have some very funny things!

My husband and I were in the area and decided to stop by Main Street Deli. So glad we did! I had the Birdseye and my husband had the Club sandwich. Ingredients were fresh, and while the some of the combinations seemed strange, they were actually really well put together. We ended the meal with a peanut butter and M&M and double chocolate chip cookie- chewy and delicious. We'll be back when we are in the area!

Always good quality sandwiches. My go to place in McPherson to get a good quality lunch. Full of fresh baked sweets and always a soup of the day. It will get busy during lunchtime with a line out the door. As a vegetarian, I can build a sandwich including avocado, alfalfa sprouts and sundried tomato dressing. The wheat bread is delicious, coffee is organic and the place is very clean and welcoming. They are open late, but still serving lunch items. My only wish is more vegan soups and possibly a vegan cookie. That might be stretching it, so lets start with the soup. Very rarely you can find a black bean soup of the day. Going on the opinions of my friends, their deserts and meat sandwiches are delicious too.

Basically, I wish we had a panera here. Not that I like panera all that much but at least my clothes don't stink when I leave a panera and I can get a quality sandwich for a reasonable price. The deli is overpriced, and the food is just acceptable.

I was in town for business and I always try to eat at the local places. This place was top notch. The line was out the door but it moved fairly quickly. Everyone was extremely friendly. The soup was delicious as was the sandwich. the half sandwich was huge and more than filling. All of the desserts looked amazing so I couldn't resist taking a cookie for the road. It was just as good as everything else. Every small town should strive to have great local places just like this. Keep up the good work!

I always make sure to eat here when visiting McPherson. Great food and atmosphere. The sandwiches are a step WAY above all the chain delis (subway, etc.) Toasted bread with alfalfa sprouts, cream cheese and raspberry honey mustard make any sandwich choice a winner. The soups are very good also - they always have broccoli cheese plus several other rotating choices. The addition of a freshly baked bread bowl is an upgrade worth making. I'm told by others the quiche and salads are good too. Finally, their desserts are not to be forgotten. The iced sugar cookies are a hit with the kids. The assortment of pies and other cookies have always been good no matter what I've chosen.

Main Street Deli is a surprising find in the surprisingly quaint little burg of McPherson. Those hoofing it on the Colorado-Texas Connector (i-135) should really consider driving 5-7 miles off the interstate to stop here, especially for lunch. McPherson is almost stereotypical in its small-town charm--stretch your legs, it's nice--as most of the businesses appear to have been around for a while and speak to a main street Americana that the Deli does all it can to partake of. From its name to its decor to its fare, MSD is straight out of a Jimmy Stewart movie. Fortunately its fare is really good; even in Wichita I have a stunningly (depressingly) hard time finding a good sandwich made with fresh ingredients and decent bread. MSD satisfies this want, though. Not especially surprising or creative in its menu and not the best sandwiches you'll EVER have, they are nonetheless very wholesome and tasty-- sandwiches include sprouts, greens, fresh veggies, quality meats, and house-baked breads. The Deli clearly believes in quality and cuts no discernible corners. Additionally, the sweets they offer really sing from the no-cutting-corners approach; this is the home of some of the best oatmeal cookies you'll ever have and there's plenty of fudge and pie to satisfy your other wants. So when you go, take your apetite, and be ready to rationalize those cookies and pieces of fudge by knowing that you ate real food with real butter and real sugar instead of processed this and pre-frozen that. Then you can walk around the block for a few minutes to keep the calories in check. Hooray for McPherson and the Main Street Deli!

This place is a great place for a sandwich & soup! The pioneer is amazing!!! Best sandwich I've ever had, & if you know me, I've had quite a few sandwiches in my time. Love this place anytime I'm in town!
