I watched the clock tick down, five minutes went by, not five normal minutes but the last five minutes of an NBA playoff game, and during that time I totally forgot if I had paid my tab. Totally forgot that is until I looked to my left and saw my waitress standing there talking to her other table STILL HOLDING MY CHECK AND CARD! Are you kidding me? 15 'real time" minutes at least and you still have not made it to ring my card though? If I could have subtracted the tip I would have, that being said I left the smallest tip in the history of my tipping. Took my a while to get my beers as well, which was funny as every time one of the four waitresses walked by they each asked if I needed something. I guess they didn't want to bother themselves with actually getting it. (Coming up on finals ya know, lots to think about) Okay service aside, the food was forgettable. Wait, actually the Strawberry Salad, with chicken and blueberries was tasty. It had lots of walnuts too. Did I mention that it had lots of walnuts, too? Yeah it had a lot of walnuts, but was good. Oh yeah, its a sports bar, it has the appropriate number of TVs, but on a night when there is baseball, NBA & NHL playoffs on they had one big screen showing the Royals, one small screen showing the Celtics-Heat, one small screen showing English soccer and 321 different screens showing some ESPN Outside the Lines junk? Come on! Next time I'll just walk on by...

The only way I'll return to this place is if I'm drunk enough to not remember. The food was forgettable- except for the nachos my friends ordered. They were quite memorable due to the half-cooked breaded chicken portion and french fry leftovers at the bottom. Those ingredients, of course, were not supposed to be in there. When we asked to have the really, really sticky table wiped off the server used a dirty rag. I sent about two pages of other things that seemed out-of-place about our visit to the "contact us" page on the establishment's website. I've never received an answer. I've eaten at the location in Junction City with far, far better results. I understand it's a bar in Aggieville, but I've had a better experience at Burger King.

Conflicting and varying reviews. Decided to check it out via a Groupon purchase. We purchased the $40 for $21 Groupon. We also had a $20 groupon voucher -- essentially $1 to give it a try. Why not?? We ordered: App- Texas Flat Nachos Served on a pizza pan; tortilla chips, ground beef (option for fajita steak add-on available), dipping cheese (vs shredded/melted cheese that typically gets hard/crusty), jalapeños, sour cream, black beans. Generous portion and great taste. Only cons were diced tomatoes would have been a good addition and the salsa was served in a small condiment cup. Burgers -- can't go wrong with a good burger! The Big Kiter- bacon, onion, cheese with lettuce/tomato/pickle on the side with curly fries. Cooked Med-well. I actually didn't eat any of it! Brought home and ate for lunch today -- great burger, even after being reheated!! Ate too many nachos!! Royal Blue- mushrooms, blue cheese crumbles, onion with lettuce/tomato/pickle + fries. Good burger too! The Original Kiter- straight up cheeseburger with lettuce/tomato/pickle + fries on the side. Took this to-go! Equally delish today! Server was on point -- refills and items as needed (salsa!). Definitely would return.

Great service. Prompt and smiling. Food is great, and atmosphere is fun and energetic!! Great grille and bar in a great college town!

All of the food is frozen or from a can or a jar. The Southwest Egg Rolls taste like gas station burritos - tasty when you're drink but not worth $9. The staff is very friendly, accommodating, and very fast to bring you your order ad soon as it's ready.

College town bar and you get exactly the service you would get of any college town bar. Waitresses are young and semi knowledgeable but not overly friendly. They have 2 main bars and an outdoor patio area. Patio is great for the summer time but there's only a parking lot to look at out back. This place can be extremely packed on game days and Friday and Saturday nights so expect to wait on your drinks or even ordering!

I wouldnt write home to mother about it but it's a decent place for a sandwich and brew... don't expect a huge craft beer list but they have a couple along with the crap american standards and the crafty wanna-be's that those big names produce to confuse the less initiated....

Continue to become more disappointed with every visit. Service is never very good, but the owners themselves must be as lazy as the servers. Their "game day" menu is a joke. Every restaurant in Aggieville was busy today except for them, with only 4 tables of diners when we walked in. And when we sat day we figured out why. The game day menu is a tiny menu that only includes foods that take no effort to make, basically none of the food that people mention in reviews is served. Our tall, blonde, skinny server (I say that only in case a manager sees this) took our drink order when she gave us the menus. 5 waters, and 2 sodas. After seeing it was game day menu we decided to go elsewhere. I walked over to the bar and she came around the corner so I told her "I'm sorry, I think we're going to go someplace else". She gave me a disgusted look and turned and walked away without saying anything. I've worked in restaurants for 7 years and would never treat a customer like that, nor would I allow another employee to. Maybe if this place we're to get better servers again, and to stop this game day menu crap. They might actually have good business. I think we've had our fill of this place.

I've had nearly all of the appetizers there and have loved them all -- especially the hush puppies! The night atmosphere is fantastic...great DJs!

Trashy waitresses who have an attitude if you ask anything from them. They will talk about you negatively to the cooks and bartenders. I've witnessed this when i was working there as a contractor and never went back to eat there knowing how they talk about customers. This place always gets written up by Kansas Department of Agriculture for food and health violations, most of the time they are for the same thing. Waiting for food longer than an hour is normal on Friday's, Saturday's, game days and really anytime there is some sort of event in Manhattan.

The food was okay, the atmosphere was functional and the seating was alright. At this point I would be willing to say the place is average, but when we went in there on a game day the bathrooms were missing the only sit down toilet in the men's room and the drink prices were outrageous! I cannot tell you the last time I paid $10 for a glass of beer outside of the plaza. I travel into Manhattan to watch games for the experience, but in the future I will have to consider playing LESS at BUFFALO WILD WINGS in Topeka.

Burgers were OK, first batch of fries were raw. Just come for the beer and you will be happy. Typical college bar, complete with the day old beer smell.

This is a bar in a college town - right next to the K-State campus in Aggieville. My husband and I are die-hard Mizzou fans, but when your child grows up in Kansas, they sometimes end up at a Kansas school. But I digress. We had just dropped her off for sorority rush, the tears were dried and we were famished after traipsing up and down stairs to the 7th floor of Ford Hall with tons of stuff. We didn't want to go to a chain so we ended up here. Hubby didn't give me time to do a Yelp search. Actually, we were pleasantly surprised! I expected bad food and service after reading the reviews once we were inside. We ended up with 3 steak specials. I was too tired to think and the hubby and son ordered that so I said make it 3. Our waitress was definitely busy, but she was busting her butt and gave us pretty good service. She's smart. Tons of parents in the house means good tips for a change! I had a glass of Widmer Brothers Citra Blonde Summer Brew. It was really good - and I'm not much of a beer drinker. Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat is about all I will drink. The guys had water. Hydrating after sweating. And one guy is a high schooler. :) The "steaks" were typical $9.95 bar steaks. Thin. However, they were all cooked medium rare as we had requested. My baked potato and salad sides were very good. Son got fries. Crinkle cut but crisp on the outside and not mushy. My husband got a baked potato and a Caesar salad. Both good and fresh. Will we come back during another visit? Most likely. I'd probably try typical bar food next time. And, I would come for dinner and not come late. Too close to campus for us old folks to be around when the college drinking starts.

This is your classic college bar. The front is a large bar with okay drinks being served at night, and a dance area that usually has pretty alright DJ's playing it. In the back there's a lot of televisions to watch sports on (or they have karaoke nights as well) and another U-shaped bar here. This is a much warmer feeling area with wood and brick, booths and tables and stuff. It's a pretty nice bar. During the day they serve your normal burgers and fries type food. None of it is bad, but it's nothing I ever craved and I didn't eat much here while living in Manhattan. The service is good and friendly, but no better than any other place either. All-in-all, Kite's is just pretty average during the day, and above average at night.

I've ate here a couple of times and never got around making a review. Well this recent visit was probably the worst. Myself and a friend wanted to find a place to eat, and most of the places were closed on New Years. Kite's looked opened and noticed all their TV's had a bunch of different NFL games going on. Great, because I wanted to catch the Chiefs game. We walked in and walked past the bar in the front area, and a waitress told us to sit any where. Well we decided to sit in the back area by the bar. We sat there for a good 20 minutes, till we decided that we had enough of this pathetic service or lack thereof. I saw one worker who walked up to a couple who just sat down, and he was eager to help them out. I guess he was a bit biased, because they were friends. Another waitress helped another couple that was sitting directly in front of us by the wall of TV's. I made direct eye contact with her, and we still were ignored. Now it would be different if we had drinks, so it would look more like just 2 guys having a drink and don't need service. But we weren't. We were looking at the menu's clearly stating, "Hey we are paying customers". Instead, we were ignored. Now this is just one bad event, and I've been here numerous times and they are typically timely with their service, but this was terrible. The place was not packed and they did not look like they were short on staff. There were a handful of people there just drinking and about 2-3 tables that were actually eating. Now for the times that I did eat there, their food is average. It's not amazing by any stretch, as it's your typical burger/steak/sandwich wraps menu. Their prices are average to other places and are reasonable. You could get a beer and a burger for about 10 dollars. As for night life here, this place is fairly packed with hot sorositutes and douchebag frat boys. Their drink specials are not bad. The only non-congested spot would be the back outdoor patio area. It makes a great spot on a warm summer afternoon to watch some sports or have a few drinks with friends. This place is great for meeting friends, but their food/service could be better. For a Sports Bar that has the title "#1 College Sports Bar In The Nation" is a complete and utter lie. If you are number 1, you would offer the best. That is not the case. They got the title from redshirtfiles.com a website that no longer exists, yet they still carry the title..

Came here around 8 on a Friday night with a group of ten people. The servers were relatively prompt considering the fact that so many people ordered at the same time. The food wasn't very good. I ordered chicken strips and curly fries and was very disappointed with how bland everything tasted. I was expecting Jack-in-the-Box-style seasoned, browned curly fries, but instead I got non-crispy, greasy, tasteless ones. However, I did try a bite of the K-State Philly sandwich, which was pretty good. Will definitely order something different next time. Music was fun and mixed current top 40 with 90's top 40.

Ladies without cover, boys 3 dollars to get in to the dance area and the outdoor area where you chill and drink. Why cover charge when there's nothing special?

I ate there once, and I forgot I ever did. In other words, as far as dining experience is concerned, the place is pretty forgettable. I can't even remember what I ate. I don't think I got sick though because THEN I would've remembered, I'm sure. It's very loud. This is not the place to go to if you are starting to feel old. That probably explains why I've only eaten there once, and then hung out with friends at another. The second time I went there with a group of girlfriends... age ranging from mid 20s to around 40s. I sure felt like a chaperon to the kids who were there that night. Anyway, it's a bar. Enough said, yeah? But it's also supposedly a 'dance club'. Another letdown as far as music is concerned, not that I was expecting a jazz band or something fancy. I would've preferred some variations which would include some techno or house. However, I don't think it's Aggieville-style to have those music genres. My friends bought shots that were served in those tiny condiments cups. It's a total rip off. The wine selection was horrible. Just as the food I had was forgettable, so were the people there, not that I went there for a night to remember anyway. I was hoping that the younger crowd would, at the very least, include some swanky, good looking blokes or maybe some cute gals. Not to be had. I'd always have a great time at home watching movies, reading a book or playing RockBand, etc. I hope I won't ever be obliged to go there any time by friends or coworkers. This is just not my kind of place even if I had been younger.

Burgers are grey, shakes are very average, and once got moldy cheese on my nachos (which they replaced with more cheese from the same batch - yuck!). Fine to hang out if you just want to drink, but far better food across the street at Tubby's, So Long Saloon, or Pat's BBQ.

Came here after eating at Buffalo Wild Wings. Seem like mostly a college crowd, eveyone was dressed really casual. I was overdressed :( but Im form LA. Had some drink that was like an alcoholic version of a shirley temple. It was cheap and strong. The Dj was good. met some cool army men. Had fun, but of course doesnt compare to partying in Cali!

It's a college bar. I don't think you should expect much, but a bunch of college kids getting drunk. The BLT I had was good enough and the fries were good. I had a Tallgrass IPA and a lager. It's a good place to watch a game, especially a KSU basketball game.

Wow. Great local college hang-out in Aggieville. Close to campus. Great service, fantastic food! I had the Bacon Cheddar Burger. Wow... their burgers are some of the best I've ever, ever had!!! All their food looked fantastic!
