We had a terrible time here. Went on a Sunday for a birthday get together. Food came out slow but the service was a complete disaster. The food used to be pretty good, I would say 3-4 stars, sometimes the steaks would come out really salty and the medium to medium rare steaks are inconsistent. We used to go to this place for special occasions, like 3-4 times with large family groups of 5-10 people. Service was so bad last time we are giving up and not going back. Seems to have been a slow slide down. I wish we had better stuff to say here. Place has always had potential and a great location. Bar always seems full and lively.

We went here for our anniversary last night. They treated us like royalty. They took our picture and gave us a print. Everyone was so nice to us. The food was phenomenal. I got a filet which was perfect. The market fresh salad and french onion soup were both incredible. They gave us a free dessert, we ordered the key lime pie. Absolutely super. My husband doesn't eat meat so the chef made him a special veggie plate which was really delicious. Our server's name was Kylie. Apparently there are two Kylie's, our girl had dark brown hair. We will request her for sure next time. Exquisite place to dine. You can't go wrong.

We had an amazing experience at Sullivan's. We can't stop raving about it to our friends and have already planned a date to go back. We went to celebrate our anniversary and they took incredible care of us. My husband made a reservation, mentioning it was to celebrate our anniversary. We we arrived they were running 10 mins behind and suggested we wait in the bar. They gave us a round of drinks on them as we waited. After about 10 minutes we were seated and greeted. Our server knew it was our anniversary and offered us another round of free drinks and a complimentary entree. We had the Kung Pao calamari, it was excellent. A bit of spice, fresh cilantro, crunch from peanuts and perfectly calamari. For our main course my husband had the ribeye with the peppercorn sauce. He said it was one of his favorite steaks he's had. I tried the seabass and it was perfectly cooked. I did think the soy flavor was a bit overpowering in the sauce. I prefer to taste more fish than sauce. To finish up we had the bananas foster bread pudding topped with ice cream. It was delicious, big enough to share. I loved the combination of the bread pudding with bananas foster. During the meal they came and took our photo. The manager served our dessert and brought us a card with our photo inside, signed by all the staff. Just this week, about one week after dining there, we received a hand written note from our server. She said she hoped we had an enjoyable anniversary and would come back to see them soon. This was a great combination of delicious food and quality customer service. The menu is a big pricy, but we thought the whole experience was worth the money. Next I think we're gonna go on Thursday for their all night Happy Hour.

My fiance and I decided to go here for Valentine's Day. BIG MISTAKE! We made reservations for 9:30pm, got there and they told us they were backed up and we wouldn't be seated for at least 30 minutes. That's understandable since everyone is obviously going out to eat for V-Day. We waited and waited, checked in with the hostess twice and told us we still had to wait. FINALLY after an hour and 15 minutes, we were seated! The place was modern and clean but the tables were so close together. Luckily our table was next to the window but the tables were so close, my chair kept bumping into the chair behind me. The menu was pre-fixed so we were able to choose what we wanted real quick. The soup and salad were pretty good. We asked for bread 3 times and were never brought any..that made me pretty mad. Both my fiance and I ordered the steak and I asked them to make mine well done and specifically told them I don't want to see any pink. Guess what I saw...PINK!! The waitress was so slow and only came to our table a couple times so I didn't bother sending it back. My fiance also said that his coke was flat and had it return and the waitress still brought a flat drink so he just settled for water. The dessert was okay, I've had better. All in all, I would not come here again and I would not recommend this place to friends or family. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE $100 DINNER.. Next time we'll be going to the Capital Grille like we usually do.

I want to update my review after more and more visits here. It's always fantastic, and I cannot say enough good things about Sullivan's. I have been to other locations as well and always get top notch service and food, but I think this one is even slightly better. I rarely go far from the fillet, but recently I decided I wanted something a little richer, a little unhealthier, and a little tastier - NY Strip. It was juicy, cooked perfectly, and just melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I need one right now. My fiance stuck with the fillet and it was as good as always. The side of asparagus was a bit disappointing, but I think that was a fluke - I've had the asparagus before and it was always fantastic. Perhaps a seasonal thing? Not sure. Her wine and my Chopin martini were both excellent. Funny thing - I love Chopin vodka and normally am willing to pay the extra for it. Here, the martini with Chopin was cheaper than the "CEO Martini" (their house martini?) which has, in my opinion, a lesser vodka. Our service this past time was probably the best we've ever had outside the bar (in my previous review, I mentioned that the bar often gets you the best service).

Yes, it's a chain, but a very decent chain! I have dined in the restaurant and the bar area, and have enjoyed both experiences. If you don't want to drop as much money, I definitely recommend eating at the bar. They have a great menu with steak sandwiches, a seafood offering, good appetizers, and one of the best burgers in town, appropriately named "The Leawood Burger". Like all reputable steakhouses in the area, they have a signature pineapple martini, made with homemade pineapple infused vodka. Enjoyed the food and as always, loved the martinis, but the decoration in the bar is kind of lame. The silhouettes on the wall feel cheesy and out of place.

In from out of town, excellent service, portion size and atmosphere. Be ready to break out your wallet though, its certainly not an everyday dinner spot.

Our server was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the calamari which was tossed in a delicious hot and sweet sauce and topped with sesame seeds and scallions which was bomb! I ordered from their special called "the sure thing" letting you pick a starter, soup or salad, and an entree. I ordered the calamari (smaller portion but perfect), French onion soup and porcini shallot crusted strip steak. The French onion soup was delicious! Loved it. The steak wasn't the best I've had but my mom ordered the filet and it was amazing. I also had the white cheddar potatoes which were hot, cheesy and delicious. For dessert we had the apple crumble and bananas foster bread pudding and the bread pudding was my fave. Soo good, especially the vanilla bean ice cream on top. For 4 people it was around $300 so it's a splurge but worth it! Great wine, amazing atmosphere plus a live band! Nice

We had a great dinner at Sullivan's. It was my first trip to the restaurant and friends assured us we would get a good steak (good steak is hard to find in Michigan). They were right. My filet was perfect, side of creamed corn and potatoes. Everyone's food was delicious and the wine was flowing because we were served by a fantastic server who made sure we were happy. Best of all the coconut cream pie was AMAZING. Decadent my hubby called it. Indeed.

First off, I was in the upscale steakhouse business for 10 years, and all I can say is: wow! I am staying in a local hotel as I move my family to KC for business. I began my evening by trying J. Alexander's. when the bartender all but laughed at me for asking if they had wifi available so i could work while i ate, I left. I called Sullivan's and asked the same question. The host replied, "absolutely!" When I walked in to Sullivan's, the host saw my iPad and asked if I was the one that called. She then proceeded to give me the password and wish me well. I was surprised to find an amazing patio to sit and enjoy my meal. Gerard Petite Sirah, customized Wedge salad, MR lamb chops, cream spinach, cigar, and coconut cream pie. All excellent, as was the service, thank you Barb! Rest assured, I will use this experience w my staff at the restaurant tomorrow to show what a huge difference great hospitality and service can make in a dining experience. I will spread the word about Sullivan's!

I've given this restaurant three chances because I tried them during restaurant week and for the most part really enjoyed it AND they do have the best Banana Bread pudding (I don't even like bread pudding or banana desserts in general)! In fact the bread pudding is one of the main reasons it gets as many stars as it does. The service is generally pretty good and the thank you cards they mail you are a nice touch, but the chef needs to lighten up on the salt. He/she has either built up a tolerance for salt that the general population doesn't share or he/she is a smoker, although you'd hope a restaurant of this standing would know not to rely on a smoker's tastebuds! The only reason I went back the 3rd time is that I had a gift card to use. In hindsight I should have just thrown the money away. It wasn't worth my time or extra expense. The food was lackluster, to say the MOST, and this time the service was lacking as well. Their prices far exceed the quality of the food or dining experience! I wonder if there prices are the same everywhere or if they feel they can charge more in Leawood? Either way, it wouldn't be worth it at half the price.

Took my wife and kids today for the Mothers day Brunch. The food was very good. I had teh Fritatta and my wife had the lobster/basil stuffed shrimp. Both cooked to perfection. Our waitress was very friendly we enjoyed her service. I would not recommend the brunch in the future because of the lack of choice but I highly recommend the resteraunt.

I think I may have offended a cow in a previous lifetime, but I've been here twice and twice my filet has been very dry. Luckily, I haven't had to pay whenever I've dined here though.

This was the first time I'd been to Sullivan's. The service was overbearing at the beginning and a little pushy. We all ordered variations on the combination menu. The calamari was good, the jumbo shrimp ok the lobster bisque was ok although greasy. Three steaks were delivered as ordered. Mine medium rare was served rare at best. I cut it in half and showed the waiter. He said I'd ordered it warm red (a term no one at our table had ever heard before). I said no medium rare my partner had also ordered medium rare and that was perfect. We compared colors. The server took it back after it had been on my plate at least ten minutes he said they would fix it. The same steak returned re heated still rare when I cut the larger piece in half again. He then went to get the manager. By this time the rest of the table had finished. I tried to reject further action. They said they would replace it this time. 10 minutes more and finally got another steak. This time much thinner still on the rare side, when as instructed I cut it in half. In the end I ate it. Wasn't a bad steak although nothing I'd return for. In the end I got the bill. My meal was free although that didn't really make anything taste better. Perhaps i was unlucky. My guess is the place is variable and at two stars I've rated it that way.

Starting this off, we've been to Sullivan's before. Great cocktails and wine selection and the patio where you can purchase and smoke a cigar is wonderful. With that said we decided to dine at Sullivan's for Valentine's day and our anniversary since they fall on the same day. Our reservation was set for 9:30 since my partner and I worked that evening. We arrived at the restaurant about 10 minutes early and were told there was a thirty minute delay. Okay, I can understand that since $99 dollars for two people is an incredible deal for the prices at Sullivan's. The host told us we could wait in the bar and order a drink or wait in the lobby. We chose the bar, we sat at an open table for about 15 minutes before a waitress came over and spoke to us, I had their signature Knockout Martini, which was wonderful. About 40 minutes had passed by so my boyfriend went to go see how much longer the wait was going to be. We were told we were next on the list so we tabbed out and went into the lobby to wait. About 10 other couples were sat before us and 15 minutes later we were seated at 10:25.... almost an hour after our reservation was made. I understand things go wrong and it was a very busy night, but they clearly over booked their restaurant. It was a time where the two managers needed to go around to every table and apologize, they weren't doing anything but talking to one another and making multiple stops at tables since almost every table complained about something. My boyfriends friends were also celebrating vday in a group of odd people, one of the women was single and about 3 people came to their table and told her the only menu provided tonight was for 2 people.... if I was single and then everyone came to the table and threw a big deal about an odd number I would feel terrible! She was already surrounded with couples and to be singled out couldn't of made her experience very good. They were also served two side dishes before their food had came out, then about 10 minutes later one of the food expeditors came to their table and said "sorry this was not for you" and directly took it to a table right behind them....YUCK! Also throughout the night were multiple complaints about the lamb being raw. We ordered a bottle of wine, and placed our order with the waitress, she the only good thing about the service at sullivan's, she wished us a happy anniversary and was very knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. We didn't order the extra $16 cold seafood platter but one was put on our table....we told the expeditor right away we didn't think it was ours...it went right to a couple next to us...I've worked in the restaurant industry and know it's a rule that once you place a food item on the table you need to take it back to the kitchen, but I guess Sullivan's doesn't care about sanitary needs. When we received our food my Rib eye was thrown in front of me hitting my water almost over without a word from the expeditor. I was shocked and appalled. I made eye contact with the manager at least 5 times, and not once did he come over and ask how the food was, or to apologize that their running behind. It honestly came off like a bunch of meathead idiots running a restaurant. I understand it's a big dining holiday, I understand a lot of people complain to get things for free. As I looked around most people were drinking water with their meal, you can tell those people are wanting to stay as cheap as possible. But to go above and beyond and order a round of drinks in the bar plus a bottle of wine, I thought it was just common courtesy and something a good manager does...and when you're paying the prices Sullivan's charges you expect to see the managers acting professional and trying to make things run smoothly. This was not the case. I don't think we will ever return after this and that's a shame. But after an experience like this one I don't see why we'd waste our money on a restaurant who doesn't care about their guests.

Went for the first time during KCRW on 1/24 for lunch. Asparagus Bisque was unique and fantastic. Steak was cooked perfectly and potatoes and asparagus were a perfect match. One of the best meals I ate all week. Would recommend them for their steaks as well as this restaurant.. Will return.

Enjoyed lunch here with a friend today. The atmosphere is classy, the service was superb and the food was delicious. Warning: lunch here took nearly an hour and a half and all we ordered was two sandwhiches... make sure you have to commit to the enjoyable experience! My friend comes often and informed me she always orders the steak sandwich. This time as no exception and she happily ate every perfectly cooked bite. TIP: opt for their in house made chips! Warm, crispy, lightly salted, there wasn't a single one left on either of our plates!! I ordered the dijon chicken sandwich since it had several elements I am fond of... gruyere cheese, carmelized onions and a pretzel roll! The sum was definitely better than its parts and I would order this again next time. I loved the beautiful table settings and the very fine glassware. I noticed that at least one of the side rooms had a business luncheon going on and I hope someday my company will be here for an offsite meeting! We should all be so lucky! 5 stars, no complaints.

A nice place for a getaway date night. Amazing ambiance along with soothing live piano jams. I ordered rib-eye and Alaskan King Crab for main course meals. The highlight of the night was my mouth watering juicy rib-eye cooked perfectly in medium rare topped with flavorful seasonings. I also ordered a strawberry cheese cake for dessert. I love how the sweetness tickles my taste buds and stimulates my sugar fix for night. I would rank this restaurant as one of the top steaks house for rib-eye. The reason why I gave 3 starts because the side dishes and appetizers isn't all that great. Overall I'm satisfy for the night.

Overall a great experience and I would come here again, but for the price only for a special occasion. The service was excellent, coordinated and perfectly timed. Of the appetizers we tried, the shrimp cocktail was excellent-- jumbo shrimp and a homemade style cocktail sauce (normally cocktail sauce doesn't really turn me on that much, but this one was awesome!) the cheesesteak egg rolls had a nice flavor, but were a bit on the greasy side (piping hot oil shot out of the rolls on biting more than once) not the best recreation of a comfort food that I've seen. For the main course, I had the filet, which was perfectly cooked. I recommend pairing it with a side of mushrooms-- the steak alone may be slightly bare without it in my opinion. For the dessert, the warm chocolate cake was incredible!

Stopped in for cocktails and apps which were good, but the live music in the bar was so loud we couldn't have a conversation and we had the worst waitress. We waited 15 minutes for our bill while she stood on the patio chatting. Will definitely not be going back - too many other places in the neighborhood with attentive service.

I hate to give this place such a low rating because I see how many people have had a great experience but being our first time here we were definitely expecting more and didn't end up getting it. We came here last night, and for a Monday night it was quite busy. The place is great, has a great setting and the servers are wonderful. What we were kind of surprised about was the food. My husband and I both ordered the french onion soup which was AMAZING. For the main course we ordered steaks: him the filet mignon and mine the filet duxelle. I ordered mine medium well and it came back for the most part, pretty much well done. He ordered his medium and it came back almost well done as well. He has NEVER EVER sent a plate back to the kitchen but not only was the degree of doneness wrong it was incredibly salty. Server was apologetic, even brought us an extra side of brussel sprouts and dessert was on the house :) BUT the second steak was cooked even more than the first he sent back! Like totally well done...he ate it, we paid the bill and left. Anyways, our first impression of the place wasn't so impressive and even though we live 2 minutes from this place, we probably won't be coming back unless it's for drinks and appetizers. SIDENOTE: What's funny is this article I found on Sullivan's and their struggle with the degree of doneness at their Seattle location - bizjournals.com/seattle/…

We came here for our 10th Anniversary, we had gift cards and decided to give it another try. ASHLI was on her game tonight and really made our date night a great experience. Cold seafood sampler, just order it and see for yourself. Bone in filet's were perfect and sides mighty tasty. Key lime pie was so so good. Good luck in Dallas Ashli!

Sundays and Thursdays there's an all-evening happy hour at Sullivan's, with $5 martinis and $5 bar menu items. A group of four of us came tonight after 9:00 p.m. following a meeting of a group we belong to. The bar was packed and we wanted to be able to talk, so were going to find somewhere else when the hostess offered to check with the manager and see if she could seat us in the half-empty main dining room with the happy hour menu. Evidently it was possible, because a few minutes later we were happily ensconced in a booth and giving our orders. The special martini and bar food menus are limited, but offer several choices and very good value! I had an elderberry and muddled cucumber martini (I wanted to know what elderberry tastes like) which was slightly sweet and refreshing. I ordered the house burger with blue cheese and house-made potato chips which were nice and crunchy. Others at the table split a burger and someone else ordered the sliced steak and the big plate of blue cheese chips. Everybody was happy with their choices. The main dining room is handsome in a steak house kind of way, and the bar was also attractive, although it's obviously very popular (at least on Thursday nights). For the food and atmosphere, this happy hour was very good value and I'm sure we'll be back again. Who knows, maybe I'll go sometime to try the regular dinner menu, although it seems to be pretty pricey. But an occasional splurge is good for the soul!

Came here to dine on the outdoor patio around 6:30 on a Friday.. Service was slow and apathetic, although there were only two other parties on the patio, and extremely unattentive with the server behaving as if she did not want to be bothered. Politely paid for my drinks, rounded up my family and left immediately to dine at a nearby restaurant that had MUCH better service ( J. Alexander's). Would not have written this review if I hadn't had similar experiences at this place previously. In comparison to other comparably priced steakhouses around the country, this location just does not measure up. Any of the other well-regarded steakhouses in KC would serve as significantly better choices than this restaurant. Clearly, I will never dine here again and would encourage others to think twice before doing so as well.

I went there with a group of friends from work for a pre-Christmas HH. The service was outstanding, the CEO Martini's were amazing, the appetizers were delicious - and all at such great (HH) prices! Everyone in our group had a wonderful time! (It made up for the lack of Xmas spirit at the office.) Thank you Sullivan's!

My friend came in town for a loved one's funeral. We had much to talk about and wanted a nice place to talk and have a glass of wine. She choose Sullivan's and it was the perfect choice. The music was relaxing and the heated patio was very comfortable. The service was good and our server seemed aware that we were having a conversation that at times was emotional. While we didn't eat, I would recommend Sullivan's for a meal or just to sit outside and have a drink if you are looking for a quiet comfortable place for conversation.

HORRIBLE experience! This place has gone WAYYYYYYY downhill over the last couple years. I was in this evening for happy hour with a couple friends and a waitress "Hillary" was EXTREMELY inappropriate! Made a snide remark to two lady friends I was with about me. I was SHOCKED! Manager Joshua told me the GM wasn't in and he would handle it. That was a lie because she WAS there after I called with a complaint. GM Lisa was nice but I still refuse to go back after being treated with zero respect as a patron. Save yourself the drama and support LA BODEGA, DRUNKEN FISH, RA SUSHI and NORTH if you are in the Leawood area. You'll have a much better time. If you do go there make sure you ask for someone OTHER THAN HILLARY!!!

Friendliest waitresses (nice looking too) and awesome food! We have been regulars here for about a year or maybe a little longer. There has only been one time that my steak was not cooked right and had to go back for a few minutes and they were so nice about it that it was no big deal. The wait staff is awesome with my favorites being Jillian and Michelle (hope I spelled them right). Outside on the patio for a cigar is fabulous. Good music and great service is the normal weekend deal. Highly recommended!

FOR THURSDAYS: If you haven't noticed by now, I am a happy hour fanatic. There's nothing wrong with having a few beverages after the 9-5 before heading home to shower, shave, hit the sack and do it all over again. So when I think Thursdays, I think CEO Martinis w/ stuffed bleu cheese olives at Sullivans! In Leawood, this is the spot to be with sleek high tops and bar stools by the bar and the jazz band playing or lounging on the covered patio w/ tables scattered throughout. On Thursdays, this place is always packed. And with $5 martinis and other cocktails, why wouldn't it be? There's the famous Knockout martini which packs quite the punch and so tasty, you wouldn't know how much damage your liver was taking for it. I've also had the Perfect Manhattan and Blueberry Lemon Drop. All of which are $5 from the normal $9+. For the eats, they've got a decent selection of bar food on special for $5 as well. My usual choices are the Bleu Cheese Chips which are kettle-cooked potato chips topped w/ a concoction of bleu cheese sauce and bleu cheese crumbles. YUMMY! My personal fave is the gnocchi. I am a pasta fanatic and these are just delicious. The gnocchi is so soft and the sauce is something of a creamy mushroom sauce that works perfectly w/ the dumpling. The Greg Richter Duo is the jazz band that plays there on Thursdays and are some cool dudes! One of these days, you may see one of my girlfriends (after one too many CEO martinis) shouting at them to play "Billie Jean" or ANYTHING by Billy Joel, preferably "Only the Good Die Young." My life is truly interesting.

This location's Happy Hour leaves a lot to be desired for me. Came here with a few coworkers and sat outside in the covered and sometimes enclosed patio. It was a cool evening so they had the plastic walls up. They allow people to smoke cigars back there and the smoke and smell were overwhelming and obnoxious. It was also super crowded and loud. The burger I had was amazing, as they always are, but I don't know if I'd be back to this location. I've been to the Palm Desert location and liked that one much better.

We went here on a whim because we had a gift card, and it is a night out without the toddler. We decided to sit in the bar area on a Friday night. It was really nice, they had live music and the band was great. Very cozy atmosphere and they serve a full menu from the bar area. Honestly, I would sit here every time, less stuffy and we could listen to music and watch the football game. We order the tomato, mozzarella and basil salad and the French onion soup to start off. Both were amazing, the tomato could have been a little bit more ripe, but I understand they are not in season. The mozzarella was to die for. Perfect. Great size as well. The French onion soul was delicious if you like a lot of cheese, which I do. For diner we decided to go the opposite of what this restaurant is and both got seafood, they advertised it as fresh so I figured it would be good. My husband got the tuna medium rare and it was cooked well, the flavor was just a bit off. Not has favorite, I got the sea bass. They did not ask me how I would like it cooked so I figured it would be at least medium well. The sauce on it was good and flavorful and the fish was a little crispy on the outside. So that was great. However, once I started eating it I notcied it was mushy. Maybe they cook it medium rare and that is how it is supposed to be done. I would have preferred it cooked more so the meat flaked off a little like a good salmon steak. Next time, I might give this a try and mention I would like it cooked medium well. As a side we shared the crab fried rice, which was very good!! No soy sauce needed. I would go back. Next time I might just stick with appetizers and sides because those were our favorite part.

We were going to be out south for Christmas shopping, so we made an early dinner reservation. I wasn't aware of it when I made a reservation, but there is a special pre-fix early bird dinner. Basically, you get a caesar or wedge salad to start . Your dinner is a fillet, mashed and green beens. Dessert is raspberry sorbet, which is giant. All that for $30 a person. A really good deal after hearing about how expensive this place can get. The only bad part of the evening was ironically the steak. I ordered medium and the center was completely raw, not even rare. My partner had the same issue, although his was not mooing quite as bad. It was obvious from the look on the server's face that it was obviously cooked way off temperature. Now when you are a steakhouse, you can mess up a lot of things...but the steak? Remember, we were there early...the place was only half full. This was not a kitchen in the weeds situation. Anyway, it was fixed, but it is still annoying to sit there and wait. The horseradish potatoes were pretty tasty, but the green beans were undercooked. One odd thing-the waiter whisked away our bread and butter with the salads. This is usually done in formal dining, but I have never had it happen at an American steakhouse....just different. The interior is "minimalist steakhouse". I liked the fact that there was a level one step up, along with several private dining rooms. There is also a really nice bar just off the entrance. I imagine that a lot of people come here after work. There was a trio playing in the bar on the night we had dinner. All in all, not bad if you want a good steak in a good atmosphere and you are out south. There are a lot of good steakhouses downtown, so I doubt I will go back.

I was excited to try Sullivan's because I know a few friends who had been and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I did not have that same experience! We got there around 830pm (or so ) on Thursday night and it was pretty crowded (always a good sign). The hostess sat us right away and was very friendly...but it went downhill from there. It took over 10min for our server to even come over and take our drink order. The food was only so-so for the cost (we got the 3-course special that donated 13% to Susan G Komen - really YOU donated it as an extra fee). The Chiefs players at the table a few down seemed to get GREAT service from all the female employees. I don't think I'll go back.

Two of us went for dinner. The filet was excellent and tender. The KC Strip (ordered it medium) was a little on the tough side, but well seasoned. Overall, food was good, but for the price paid, 2 meals, 2 cocktails and 2 desserts, we could have started a decent college savings fund for a small child. Way overpiced.

Tried Sullivans for the first time last night. I'm very particular when it comes to a filet. Theirs was great! The lobster was very good as well. The drinks were AH-mazing! Things I was not impressed with: the waiter took his time in getting all of our orders, and we had to wait longer than I expected between courses. Other than the time factor the service was excellent. I'm also very particular about service! The other thing I was not impressed with was the caesar salad. It was not very flavorful. But since I went for the steak primarily, the salad was not a deal breaker. I will definitely go back the next time I'm craving a filet.

I went for lunch tonight with my wife and son who was home from college. They have a $22 lunch special including a huge and cheesy bowl of french onion soup, a good sized and perfectly prepared filet with mashed potatoes and vegetables. For desert the waiter overheard us talking about my son's upcoming birthday and brought him a huge and hot brownie with tahitian vanilla bean ice cream. My wife ordered the creme brulee'. They serve it in a tart dish, it was the largest creme brulee I have ever seen and she said it was great. We had iced tea with our lunch and it was a very unique and tasty blend of tea. Not your average ice tea, but not too fruity. I ordered coffee after the meal and this was the only disappointment - with the Roasterie Cafe right across the parking lot I was expecting a bold strong roast, but it was weak and not that good. The price wasn't cheap for lunch, but the service was exceptional, the food was hot, fresh, fast and perfectly prepared. I would go back for a nice business lunch any time.

Went here for a wine lunch this week. The wine was fantastic as was the food. I ordered the business lunch for $22 and got a caesar salad and 6oz filet with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The wait staff was very good and the only flaw was they delivered my salad to the man sitting next to me. Me being the good sport I am I let him eat it. That and he was footing the bill. All and all. Very nice place.

I ordered the Chili Crusted Ribeye from the Chef's Selection. It was the thinnest steak I have ever received from a steakhouse. Also, it was nearly 1/3 fat. The crust was good and cooked to how I like it but not worth the $40 they charged. The best part of the meal was the Creamed Spinach. If I ever go back, it will be to have that and nothing else. The service started out slow as I was the first to go out to the patio and the server was not aware I was there. Once he was aware the service was adequate.

There are few options in southern Johnson County for an after movie dessert and coffee. We stopped at Sullivans, thinking their outdoor patio might be a comfortable choice on a warm evening. The hostess offered restaurant, bar or outdoor patio seating. The bar was empty even though there was good live jazz music, but it was too loud to talk. The patio was partly filled but relatively quiet. We decided to have drinks with our desserts. We had a step-up Cabernet and a White Russian and they were wonderful until the cigar smoke invaded. I ordered the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding and my husband ordered the Toasted Coconut Cream Pie. The Bread Pudding was crunchy and the Coconut Cream Pie almost tasted like canned vanilla pudding with cool whip on top. The portions were huge in volume and price but completely lacking in taste. The waitress offered us any other desserts, but we declined. Instead my husband ordered a coffee. It was flavorful, but barely warm. We didn't bother reordering hot coffee. Our 2 drinks were $23 before tip. This seems to be another example of a Johnson County restaurant that feels local patrons have more money than brains! The waitress was very accommodating, but we won't return because we were completely dissatisfied with the desserts, coffee and the smokey atmosphere.

Oustanding cust service and very good food. With all the steak houses in KC to choose from, this is a refreshing relatively new addition that is on par with the best of KC and NYC. Great place to go for drinks with your significant other or a group (if the weather permits, def sit outside; they have a great outdoor seating area with tables and couches). Also a good lunch/dinner spot for entertaining business associates/clients. My wife and I have been here for drinks, dinner and I have taken clients here for both lunch and dinner. Some of our favorites include the Hong Kong Chilean Sea Bass, the Jumbo Scallops with Thai Sauce (cooked to perfection), and for steaks, you can't go wrong w/ the Mushroom Duxelles 8 oz filet, 12 oz Strip or my fav, the 20 oz Cajun Ribeye. I have also had the Lamp Chops which were moist and tender and had excellent flavor. For dessert, if you're with your SO, def split the Peanut Butter Black Bottom Pie w/ roasted peanuts and caramel! We also like to add the Key Lime Pie w/ rasberry sauce and mint. Excellent wine list as well as a nice selection of single malts, bourbons and dessert wines. Free valet parking with plenty of shopping in the same location if there is a slight wait.

Now how am I going to review a place when its a steakhouse and I didn't have a steak? I'm not, so hone in on my bar scene advice folks. First, I just think the whole Town Center Plaza area is a mess, except maybe Park Place except that it's too small and separated. For Sullivan's what a pity that it faces a parking lot. You know, the patio. Decent patio, but let's get a firepit rocking out there, let's jazz this thing up. Yes, the heaters under the awnings are great for the shoulder season, but let's get some more sexiness on that patio. Second, nice work on the bar area, has a decent scene of cougars too, particularly on Thursdays I hear. I always judge a place by their Seared Ahi Tuna. Bam! That is some gooooooooood stuff. Love the wasabi soy sauce glaze, just spicy enough. Finger lickin' good. The cheesesteak eggrolls. Not so good. But you can't mess up rolling up meat in a wrapper and deep frying it all that bad. Waitstaff, good. Very willing to please. Not enough for me, but probably enough for most. Hey we can't all be perfect. 'gain, can't vouch for the steaks but the rest seems pretty good, and half of a place like this is the 'scene'. What beats cougars? Meow.

I'm not really sure how to describe my experience here, but the food was pretty good and the service was insane. My problem is that I still am not sure what this restaurant is trying to accomplish. The mostly individually priced food made the meal per person pretty expensive, but the portion sizes were crazy like Bucca di Beppo or something like that. So for ~$70 a person, you can have a huge meal and leave with another huge meal's worth of food. You can also easily just order an entree, split a side item, drink water, still have a huge meal and escape for ~$45 a person without left-overs. So I am still not sure if this place is going all out fancy, or mass market group feeding. The steak I ordered was okay. I order steak just past medium, but my steak arrived about 1/3 well done, 1/3 medium well, and the last 1/3 medium. The well-done part had the seasoning burnt on. I didn't have any of the side sauces with it, which might have been a mistake since others liked theirs so much. The side items were hit and miss, the twice-baked potatoes were the best I have ever had, the onion rings were the most underwhelming I have ever had. The entrees all come with a blue cheese wedge salad which is the size of half a head of lettuce and very good. My only real food gripe is the bread that comes with the meal. Lets just say if I had dentures, I would not have been able to eat it. The service is the best service I may have ever had at a restaurant. Very attentive and helpful while ordering, drinks never close to empty, food not sitting eaten very long, and they bagged up the aforementioned leftovers like I ordered takeout. The restaurant itself is very classy with a giant wall of wine on one side, the kitchen on the other, and a library shelf wall for the other inside wall. I will say as popular as this place is, it is a party on the inside. Very loud with the bar packed standing room only, and the restaurant usually full. If I want the best steak in KC, I don't think this is it. I would head to Plaza III or Benton's first. I would actually rate a steak I had at Longhorn recently as better. So the food I would give 2 or 3 stars. But, the atmosphere and service were so great, I have to give the restaurant 4 stars.

I had a business lunch here a few weeks ago. I had the filet, and it was cooked perfectly, and every bite was absolutely delicious. The mashed potatoes were really, really good. The mashed potatoes were excellent, yea I said that twice ;-) The vegetable was string beans which were fresh and presented very well, but under cooked. It is a style of vegetable preparation which I typically prefer, but does not fit well with string beans in my opinion. I can't wait to have another meal here.

Ed.Tech dinner at Sullivans Steakhouse with a Bone-in filet MRare among top 5 steaks ever, rivals Spencer's of Omaha and Bob's of Dallas. Sullivan's is a cut above the KC traditional home town favorites. Sean the waiter pleasant and available without being intrusive.

okay after reading the other two reviews i was interested- and i returned $$$ poorer and having the best steak and dining experience this place was hopping bar was packed but the parking lot behind the Crate and Barrel at 119th and Roe thankfully was large - they do also have valet parking- something i remember from my LA days- still by the time i left everything was a tad bit busy* the dining room but not a ton of people were waiting- future reservations will be in order so i can get my steak i think- the wine and drink menu was offered and my server Angela was knowledgable about the whole menu- having tried just about everything on the menu she had excellent suggestions we discussed my meal and instead of me ordering it became an experience in creating the perfect meal of what i liked the most- i was impressed with the friendliness of the entire staff and saw it throughout the restaurant as they created the happy din of excited patrons by fussing over us all, i was greeted by everybody asked my name and they all introduced themselves and checked on me quite often- not just my server Angela who was a very sweet and funny and of course extremely professional server, the Manager Lori and the OTHER managers and waiters as well were personable and checked in assuring me that if i needed anything they were available as well- not that Angela let that happen, nothing sat on my table for a second after i finished including crumbs that were cleaned off- the food was completely excellent- everything from the fresh hot bread and butter to the spinach salad with bacon dressing to the steak itself- a filet mignon perfectly prepared with a bourbon peppercorn sauce- this sauce i want to figure out how to make it since i want to put on everything i cook here at home! i ordered the white cheddar gratin potatoes which were incredibly good but it was a double serving a bit too much for a single diner when i was stuffed on steak and spinach salad! i didnt even get to finish my bread. i think in the future i'd just get a baked potato- the after dinner menu had an excellent round of desserts key lime pie was in house freshmade and excellent- after dinner drinks cognacs ports and the like and cigars- All in all very enjoyable- for a heads up on people who are watching thier dinner spending- this place is more well alacarte would be the way i'd put it, than it is dinner all together price like i've gotten used to here- so everything is on TOP of your steak price which can add up. but i will say it is worth it that meal was incredible and something i'll make money in my budget because it was worth it.

I will say that I've been to Sullivan's for business lunches on two prior occasions and the food was good (not great). My wife and I went to Sullivan's last night for a postponed Valentine's Day dinner. I wanted something that was a "step up" for our special dinner, and we wanted to try something new, so I picked Sullivan's based on my business lunch experiences. We started with the Cheesesteak Eggrolls, which were very good. My wife had a Raspberry Peach Bellini, which she said was good as well. She ordered the bone-in Kansas City Strip while I decided to try the Dry Aged Long Bone Ribeye, both medium-rare. We had the Horseradish Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Three Cheese Mac for sides. Both of the steaks were cooked medium-rare. However, there was too much of a char on the outside for our liking. Also, neither steak was really tender, and both were full of gristle. Instead of slicing through a tender ribeye steak, each bite had to be sawed off. Each time, I hoped the next bite would be better, but it didn't get any better. Since it was a 26 oz steak for $59, I expected much better quality. By no means did I eat the whole thing, and had them wrap the remainder to take home. My wife said her Kansas City Strip was also not tender, but not quite as full of gristle as my own. You might ask why we didn't send them back and ask for new steaks. I loathe seeing steak go into the trash unless it is utterly inedible. It's a shame for a steakhouse of this level to serve two steaks of this quality. I've had many steaks at Longhorn of much better quality and half the price. Either the pricing is due to self-inflated ego, or the chef picked two bad steaks. Either way, it's not representative of the prestige that the atmosphere and pricing suggest. The Horseradish Garlic Mashed potatoes were overwhelmed with horseradish. I tasted no garlic. I expected a hint of both flavors, but only tasted the one flavor. The Three Cheese Mac was the best part of the meal, with the Cheesesteak Eggrolls coming in a very close second. The three managers came by early in our stay and were friendly. The staff made sure to keep our glasses full of water. And our waiter was friendly and prompt. I realize that there are many 4- and 5-star reviews for Sullivans. And if I reviewed my business lunches, they would have probably received 4 stars. But last night was a disappointment. At the end of our meal, we questioned whether it was worth anywhere near what they charged. Based on last night alone, I would say they fell far short of my expectations.

Sullivan's was extremely enjoyable. Great atmosphere. Perfect cocktails. Excellent food. I took my father there for the first time for his birthday, and we were very impressed. If I was forced to pick something to criticize it would their menus. For such an upscale and enjoyable restaurant, their menus are remeniscent of the corner diner, however that it my only criticism. We will be returning.

I was here Monday as a corporate sponsored buffet dinner. I was told they expected 400 people over a 2-hour time frame. They seemed to accommodate everyone in a timely fashion. The buffet line was long, but it moved. I was very surprised at how good the food was. Among the choices of meat there were sea scallops, not just beef and chicken, and they were delicious. The green beans appeared to be fresh and oven roasted. The mashed potatoes were perfect just like I would make at home with a little bit of the skin in there. No earth shattering desserts, just cookies, but they tasted homemade. A co-worker complained about his drink being expensive. I sat at a high top in the bar area, with the outer wall open to the patio. The atmosphere was upbeat. I did enjoy my food and the atmosphere, I'll come back again to check out other menu items and I'm looking forward to it.

Average steakhouse that has an upbeat vibe. Good steaks, but not too much on the culinary side that sets it apart or above any of the other local steakhouses.

Restaurant week warning...The $33 dinner is a GREAT value, BUT be cautious when ordering wine. The first two bottles (of my choice) were delivered with dry corks (result of improper storage). The one my server recommended (at $46 for the bottle) was mediocre, available online ( wineearcher.com ) for $13.

The filet mignon is excellent and the bananas foster bread pudding is the best dessert I've ever had but you pay for it all. The great deal they did have, the amazing Sullivan's burger w/ thick bacon and candied jalapeños, is now gone from the happy hour menu. It may be off the menu completely. The Knockout martini is the cocktail to go with on your first visit.

This is an ok chain but overpriced compared to better chains like Morton's or capital grille. However, it is nice to change it up once in a while and hit a Sullivan's. Just not this one. Average service, unremarkable food. Waitress was pretty good, hostess average, sommelier too chummy, kitchen under seasoned sides. Shrimp was frozen. Not worth the $125 for my one person dinner. I got the perfunctory visit from the GM, but a lone business guy is an easy mark. It's a Monday night and the place is dead. Like only five tables active at 8pm dead. This should have been a clue when I walked in. I checked Yelp before I came, but should have trusted the 3.5 stars and gone somewhere else.

AWESOME SEA BASS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE COUNTRY! OH, and perfectly cooked calamari!! Not a steak person, but I was with friends who are. I was so pleased there was a terrific sea bass option. thank you Sullivans! Great TVs too, watched the NFL Draft! Fit for foodies!!

This review is just for happy hour, because there is no freakin' way my wallet could handle this biz. BUT HAPPY HOUR RULES! It's actually more like happy day, since it lasts all day Thursday (and Sunday? I think?). Me and my girl come pretty frequently when we feel like getting fancy-turnt on cocktails that normally run $12 and up, but just $7 on Thursdays! I can swing that! The Knockout, Blueberry Lemondrop, that one that tastes like red velvet cupcakes, and my personal fave, the Blueberry Bourbon Mule, are killer cocktails. Shoutouts to my man Al holding it down at the bar! He's fantastic. Also, the super nice jazz guys. The menu's ok, not the best, but that kale-artichoke dip is delicious and the ahi nachos and sriracha shrimp are bomb. Apparently the Leawood burger has been replaced with a lesser, shredded-lettuce'd burger and my best friend is OUTRAGED. If you make a scene, they'll bring you bacon and candied jalapeno to top your burg. Pro tip. Downside: getting hit on by drunk middle-aged dudes sporting wedding bands and stupid light beers. "You look like my future ex-wife." BARF.

Great experience here! It would have been 5 stars except the 1 thing I'll mention at the end of review My restaurant week dinner selection was: Iceberg Lettuce Wrap Vine Ripe Tomatoes, Crumbled Blue Cheese & Blue Cheese Dressing Hand Cut Filet Mignon 6 oz & Béarnaise sauce Bananas Foster Bread Pudding with caramel sauce & vanilla bean ice cream This is the ONLY place I will order an iceberg wedge because iceberg lettuce is just....well, iceberg lettuce. What prompts me to order it here is their blue cheese dressing. It is house made and excellent! Perfectly blended and flavorful, complimented by pieces of tomatoes. Iceberg lettuce never tasted so good. My filet was flavorful, cooked perfectly and the bernaise sauce sauce was spot on. The dessert was excellent too. While the bananas foster bread pudding was fab, the vanilla bean ice cream was not just a ho-hum topping. It was flavorful in it's own right. My server, Jamarcus, was a pro. He stayed on top of the details and was attentive but not hovering. Another server (whose name I don't know) also impressed me when he checked on me & we talked 'steaks' for awhile. He was quite knowledgeable and gave me a tip regarding a ribeye w/ bone attached. So, the menu, food, presentation and service were five star. Then there was the head line cook. I refuse to refer to a selfish moron as 'chef'. I assume he was in charge as he was instructing others. Their line/grilling area is open to the dining room. So, while normal conversations probably couldn't be overheard, loud voices in a relatively empty dining room can be clearly heard. Every other word that came out of this guy's mouth was "F***" this and "F***ing" that. I could hear the other guys working with him tell him that he was being overheard (they were sheepishly looking out at me) & encouraged him to be more quiet but he didn't stop. Never even slowed him down. Quite insulting actually which is no doubt what he was hoping for. I mean when someone flat out tells you that you're out of line & being insulting and you keep it up??? He either didn't understand or care that his language was a reflection on the entire restaurant. Well, that says a lot. Too bad Sullivan's keeps this guy on staff. I didn't leave, but it really marred what would have been a great experience otherwise. I usually hit Sullivan's a few times a year, but I was really turned off this time.

Atmosphere was great. Food was okay. The flavor was decent, nothing tasted bad, but it wasn't extraordinary either. For the price, I expected a lot more. The service was incredibly slow. It was a Friday night and somewhat busy, but two plus hours for two steaks is a little on the long side (part of that was waiting on the check and then waiting to pay). We probably won't return. Nothing against Sullivan's, but if I'm looking for a good streak, there are other places with better food and for a better price.

We had a nice dinner here! Everything was excellent! Let's see, we went on a Sunday evening for my husband's birthday and there were some people in there but not too much, it was our first time here. You walk in and the bar area is the first room you see, it's nice and lit w/ live music (I'd like to come chill in the bar area sometime). We walked in and got seated right away, got our drinks and decided on what to eat. :) I like strait forward and to the point. I picked from the $42 Prix Fixe Menu (it's totally worth it) I started off with the Shanghai Calamari, it was really good, cooked perfectly light and crispy batter tossed in a sweet chili sauce. I got Oysters they were nice and plump and fresh. and a Wedge Salad to start with, It was really good surprisingly...it looked plain and big but it was good I finished it...and I probably could have been done eating now but then my steak came, It was cook perfectly med. on a bed a mashed potatoes. I also got the cream corn which I thought was good as well. My husband got a long bone ribeye and a baked potato, he said it was good and cooked perfectly except there was too much Char on it on other than that it was really good. We shared a warm chocolate cake for dessert and finished that too! We had a great experience and an awesome waiter. I think this place is expensive which we knew going into it. I wouldn't say it's on the Morton or 801 Chophouse level but it was good and a nice change up!

Went recently with some business folks nice private room. 3 of 10 meals came out wrong. either way under cooked or in one case completely wrong. A medium fillet came out as a well done piece of shoe leather that wasn't even close to what was ordered. The service was margin. Not a 4 or 5 star. Don't know if the problem was the waiter or the cooks but this was a sub par performance. The manager did his best to make up for it but the night was toast. Too bad. I came to KC expecting great steak. My bad.

Got treated to a lunch and this was my first food experience here. It lived up to everyone's hype about it. I had The Mixer which allowed me to choose between fixed menu items. This ended up being too much food for me but it was delicious! I started with a fresh green salad, then moved to the Crabcake Po Boy and Carmelized Cauliflower. The Po Boy sandwich was so big they cut it in half so I peeled back the bread (which was soft and yummy) and just ate the insides - very good - lots of flavor and exactly what I was expecting. The carmelized cauliflower was out of this world. I could have eaten the entire pan full they were so good. Definitely make this a lunch spot in the future. Some of my colleagues had burgers - they looked HUGE and they said they were excellent.

Best anniversary spot. Had my first date here with my fiance, and have been coming here every year since. Best filet mignon in the KC area, in my honest opinion. The service is superb as well. Only giving it four stars because it is very, very expensive.

Our anniversary celebration was tended to with perfection--perfect service, perfect food, perfect place. My sea bass was lucious (not just awesome) and my husband's dry aged strip steak was both an excellent cut and cooked to perfection, served with the oscar/bernaise sauce he ordered it brought that smile of satisfaction to his face. Instead of just giving me advice on which wine to have with my dinner, they actually let me taste the two I was considering and then choose! Our server was there when we needed her, but gone enough to make it a romantic dinner. I loved the room-facing booth where we could sit side-by-side and see all that was going on. The key lime pie was the perfect end to dinner--the memory of that balanced tang and sweet still makes my mouth water. Mmmm! Yes, there are other wonderful places in town, but Sullivan's will be one of my favorites.

IF you don't mind dropping a Benjamin and a half for dinner, Sullivan's is fairly legit. We made reservations on Open Table for Restaurant Week and all they had available was 8:30. We got there 5 minutes early and grabbed some wine from the very busy bar as the hostess told us things were taking a little longer than expected. We were finally seated just before 9 o'clock and immediately told by our very nice waitress that we would be treated to an appetizer on the house due to the wait. We had the cheesesteak egg rolls which were delicious. We ordered another round of drinks as we waited for our food. Apparently they forgot our bread at this point and brought that out toward the end of the meal. It was a yummy sourdough loaf with melted butter on top, but unfortunately it was quite large and the middle was still cold/frozen. My husband ordered the 22 oz bone-in cowboy cut (ribeye) with a side of white cheddar au gratin potatoes off of the regular menu. I opted for the Restaurant Week menu with a caesar salad, Bay of Fundy salmon with tomato sherry jus, and New York Style cheesecake with strawberries. As my sides I chose garlic horseradish mashed potatoes (after the waitress assured me that the horseradish was not overpowering) and the creamed spinach. The mashed potatoes were surprisingly much better than the au gratin potatoes, and the spinach and salad were also good. The salmon had good flavor, but was a a touch too thick and therefore the inside not as done as I prefer. Next time I would try a steak. It was a lovely evening in a beautiful restaurant with soft live jazz on the piano and great service. Great place for a date night. The food was very good, and I'm sure most people expect to spend quite a bit on a fancy meal. But in my opinion, for the price, it should be spectacular. Tip: If you are a Costco member, you can spend $80 there for a gift card to Sullivan's worth $100. Every little bit counts!

I've wanted to try Sullivan's for awhile now, but I finally made it in over restaurant week. We made reservations over Open Table and were seated within five minutes of our reservation. There was a jazz trio playing in the bar area and they sounded great. We listened for a few minutes while we waited and, once seated, the lovely music wafted into the dining area. We ordered cocktails. I went with the Knockout (the restaurant's signature martini : Svedka Clementine Vodka infused with Fresh Hawaiian Gold Pineapples) and because I'm a weenie I had them add a little orange juice. It was delicious. My table mate ordered the Knockout as listed on the menu and it was delicious, too. I started with the wedge salad - iceberg wedge with Bleu Cheese dressing, Bleu Cheese crumbles and tomatoes. The salad was generously loaded with crumbles and tomatoes. I thought it was delicious. For dinner I had the 8 oz fillet with creamed spinach and horseradish whipped potatoes. I wasn't a fan of the potatoes. There was only a hint of horseradish, but I didn't enjoy it. Sure, they were different than potatoes I could've had anywhere else. The spinach was good. I really enjoyed the steak, which was the star of the show. It was perfectly cooked to order, medium-rare, and had a beautiful crust. My meal was finished with cheesecake with strawberry sauce. I don't usually order cheesecake but I was in the mood. I'm so happy I did because I think Sullivan's cheesecake was better than any other I've ever had. It wasn't dense or heavy, instead it was light and fluffy. The restaurant is beautiful and well kept. The service was impeccable. The cocktails were delicious and free-flowing. The food was overall very good. I have had a couple of friends label this place Cougar Town and I would probably agree with that assessment as far as the bar goes, but that certainly wouldn't deter me from enjoying a drink there. Will I go back? They were running a Valentine's special and that just might be where I end up (sans horseradish mashed potatoes).

From our waiter, "Magic" Mike, to my French union soup, my wife's salad and entrees, the place was great! I haven't eaten like that in years and judging by my paralyzed state write now, I'm hoping that it will be a few more years before I strap the feed bag on like that again! Baked potatoes put me away... would have laughed when Physics Mike asked if we wanted desert, but I was barely conscious. Thanks!

My wife and I have dined at Sullivan's before, but tonight was our 33rd anniversary. Our dining experience was a disaster, especially considering the occasion. We shared an appetizer, my wife had a cocktail, we ordered soup/salad, entrees and a side. My wife ordered her steak medium-well done and was very specific in requesting a little pink in the middle and the rest gray-brown in color. Her steak arrived medium rare, and we waited at least 3 minutes before our waiter came by to check our food. The steak went back to the kitchen and my wife waited at least 10 minutes to receive the same steak cooked exactly the same in the middle, and only the outside more charred. The GM had delivered the steak to our table on round 2, and argued with my wife about the definition of "well-done". By then, my wife was hungry, tired of waiting and only ate a few bites of her steak. She cut the remainder open to fully display the medium rare interior, and called to the GM as she passed the table (while trying to ignore us). This time the GM admitted that the steak was undercooked. By then my wife was upset and just wanted to leave. The GM comped our meal, but that didn't help. We didn't go there for a free meal, we went there to celebrate our anniversary with a nice dinner. I don't know how a chef in a high-end Steakhouse doesn't understand how to cook a steak to the customer's preference - with 2 attempts! There was really no excuse for our disappointing experience tonight; Sullivan's may want to work on training their chefs and GM to deliver a level of food and customer service that matches their prices. I don't think I can get my wife to go back there, and I understand why.

I've heard a lot about the happy hour here, and I was extremely underwhelmed. My server didn't know if the bar carried sweet tea vodka, so she brought me a different drink which was awful (6 people agreed), until she thought to ask the bartender if they had Firefly or Jeremiah Weed (they had Firefly). She took about 20 mins to bring us anything, including water refills, did not ask how we were doing checks so a group of 8 women got one check. She was unwilling to split it herself and asked us to do it. Considering it was a birthday celebration, which the server knew, it was extremely disappointing. The jazz trio which was playing was so loud that we had to yell our conversations to the people next to us. It was impossible to talk or enjoy ourselves. Martinis were tasty but overpriced, food was what you would expect from a steakhouse. I might go back for a lunch sometime, when there is not a band to scream over.

Indeed.

Meow.

Average steakhouse that has an upbeat vibe. Good steaks, but not too much on the culinary side that sets it apart or above any of the other local steakhouses.

My bad.

Food was delicious. Service was great. 3* because there are area steakhouses that are just as good or better for less $
