I have to say that I do really like 12th Brick. It is conveniently located in the old Disciplinary Barracks and has a neat ambiance. It is pretty cool knowing that you are eating where prisoners were once incarcerated. The menu is also whimsical with names like the jailbird, felon, etc. The sandwiches, wraps and paninis are all good, though I tend to like the paninis a bit more as they are huge and fill you up. The lunch combo is a great deal and comers with sandwich, chips, and drink for a pretty decent price. Also, you can snack on free popcorn while waiting in line. They do tend to get busy at lunch, so try to come a few minutes early. This a great alternative to going of post. #Yelp100

Their sandwiches are pretty tasty. The wait is horrendous. It took 50 mins to get food, that was because I had to ask for my food to go. Do not expect friendly service, they are far from it.Call ahead, you can get your food pretty easily and pay in a timely manner.If you then want to sit and eat then go ahead. But If you only have an hour, this is not the place to order and wait. They offer complimentary popcorn to ease your hunger while you wait and wait and wait.

Food is delicious, service is terrible, staff very unfriendly, I waited 50 minutes for my food then had to go to the counter and change my order to a to-go order, the staff got an attitude like i kicked their dog, the get three stars for the food but thats it

I have just tried takeout at the 12th Brick Grill. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and it was alright, nothing special. If you are looking for a soup, salad, and sandwich shop that is a step above Subway this place is worth stopping by.

The 12th Brick Grille is an unusual find on an Army post. Good food and a nice atmosphere as well as a decent selection of beers. It's a lot nicer than the food court at the PX. Definitely not a bad choice for lunch due to their good selection of sandwiches and salads. By now, I think I've tried all of them. Their wraps are really large and almost enough for two people. I used to eat here more often but now I eat at the DFAC instead. This is a nice place to meet someone for lunch if on Fort Leavenworth, but it can't compare to the DFAC, especially on price and I like the overall variety at the DFAC. Also, since I've started to track calories, I've found very little here on the menu that is low or lower calories. Almost everything contains meat and has a dressing or sauce on it, adding to the calorie count. The chicken soup with rice is an exception and one of several really good soups available. Even when the line is long the service is pretty fast. And the cashier and servers are super nice and friendly.

Good place for soup and sandwich, especially if you're pressed for time getting lunch on base. There's a lot of missed opportunities, however, due to the limited operating hours and budget cuts.

Depending on the time you have for your lunch break I was limited to the restaurants on Ft. Leavenworth. I tried most all the places on post (ILE food court, PX, Commissary) and this was the BEST place to get lunch on post! I had the Jail Mate salad and it was super tasty. They don't skimp out on chicken (or you can get steak) or any of the toppings. If anything I'd almost say they need more lettuce, but that's very minor. The chipotle dressing brought it all together and was one of the better lunch/dinner salads I've ever had. They have indoor or outdoor sitting. Just be careful, depending on the schedule on post this place can get quite busy. To overcome that call in your order in advance.

I came here almost every day I was at Leavenworth for lunch. With sandwich names like "The Jailbird", "Breakout", "Cuffed & Stuffed" and my personal fav "The Warden", how can you go wrong? Food is pretty good, staff is really nice but the lunchtime line is looooong! Phone your order in and it will be ready when you get there. Commemorating the historic US Disciplinary Barracks, the "12th Brick" refers back to inmate produced bricks used to build "the castle" for the prison. Every 12th brick was stamped with USMP (United States Military Prison).

What a cool location for a grille! This place is pretty new, it's located inside the old military prison on Fort Leavenworth. Great menu, salads, sandwiches, BEERS! Very convenient location for the CAC/MCTP/MCBL folks working on post. The prison ambience just adds to the whole experience.

This is one of my favorite lunch spots in Leavenworth. We can walk here from our office so we add exercise and great food. The sandwiches and salads are amazing. I haven't found one I don't like. They give huge portions and they do take out. Service can be slow so calling ahead is the way to go. It usually takes about 20 min depending on how busy they are and how many orders you have. They have a nice sit-down atmosphere that gets crowded quick. The staff are great. You know you're a regular when they already have your order written down. The history behind the place is great. It's a nice bright spot in a busy busy day.
