My family goes here often and each and every time, we get great service and good food. From the time you order to when you get your food, the staff is friendly and very helpful. They come around to tables and clear them for you and ask you if there is anything they can do. That personal attention is what makes this place great. The food may take a while to get there but it is very good. I enjoy the variety of food they offer. This is how far they will go for their customers: My daughter had been sick with a sore throat and was diagnosed with strep. She was being treated with antibiotics but was not able to go out Trick-or-Treating for Halloween that year. The manager came by and asked if everything was ok and what my daughter was going to be dressed up as. She told him she wasn't able too because of strep. He took her over to a little case with Culver items for sale. He let her choose one because she wasn't able to go out for Halloween. That impressed me.

I really like this place. The staff is so friendly. I think the custard is just OK and not as good as Freddie's but the burgers and cheese curds are the best. They are so good that I've been here several times since moving to Lawrence.

Great food!! I hadn't been here more than twice before. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and it was great. Than I asked for something minty and chocolate and they gave me a mint Oreo concrete and it tasted great it was perfect for the hot day today. It hit the spot. I'm definitely coming back here again! I couldn't find mayo for my chicken but still it was good with ketchup.

Culvers serves (warm) gluten free Udi's buns! This location charges $1.00 for the bun and requires you to assemble the burger yourself but it's definitely worth it if you're looking for a quick GF burger. They also have GF soups available. The only negative about this location is that their fries are cooked in the same equipment as their breaded items. This would be the standard drive thru meal if I could eat the fries!

I really like Culver's. Admittedly, I haven't experienced much of their menu. So far, all I've had were the fries, the cheese curds, and a sundae. However, all three of those were great. Their custard is awesome and their sizes are much more reasonable than a lot of places. As a cheese lover, the cheese curds were perhaps some of the best fried cheese items I've had at any fast food place, and the fries were nice and crispy. The cashier when I went in was very friendly, which is nice; I know how soul-killing that job can be and it's so easy to let the customers get to you and have a bad attitude. I wish I remembered her name because she definitely deserved recognition for being so friendly without being overpowering and helping me pick out a custard dish. The atmosphere is almost more like a Village Inn or perhaps an IHOP than a fast food joint. They had mullioned windows, carpet, and ceiling fans...it was a very comfortable place to sit down and have some quick food! I will definitely be returning because despite the homey setting, it was still very clean and quiet, even with it being somewhat busy.

To be clear, I don't think that Culver's is truly "fast food". Trust me, they aren't exactly "fast". This is NOT a place to go if you are in any kind of hurry. They do have a drive-thru, but frankly I think that they shouldn't even bother. Yeah, I'm biased against drive-thrus in general, but in this case I really do think it shouldn't even be there. Unless all you want is a shake or something, don't use the drive-thru at Culver's. Just don't do it. You'll have to pull up into their special designated "I was just at the window but now I have to sit here wasting gas still waiting for my food until some kid walks it out to me" parking spaces. Don't do it. Just park your car and go inside. Okay, now that I've made that point, why the 4 stars? Because the food is excellent and the dining room is nice. It is a great example of what a burger joint dining room should be- bright, clean, simple. Two soda fountains flank a little "hallway" into the dining room, spaced far enough apart to disperse traffic and reduce crowding at each fountain. And yes, the Culver's root beer is nice. It's been awhile since I've had any of their frozen custard, but I do remember it being good. The burgers are very tasty. I don't usually like mine well done, but this is well done done well. There's a nice char on the patty, but it's not all dried out. Toppings are fresh and flavorful. If you want to try something different, the menu is quite large and varied. I recall pork fritter sandwiches (something you don't see every day) fish and chicken platters, and maybe even chicken fried steak. Culver's is a little more expensive (and definitely slower) than true fast food joints, but I think it's worth it. The location is not convenient unless you're already going to Target or the movie theater, but do make a point to try this place out at least once.

I love frozen custard. So Culver's makes me happy. They have a decent selection of toppings and frozen custard treats. I think I prefer Sheridan's, but since the Lawrence location closed, I have been heading here. Not so in love with other food here. Burgers are bit too done for me, and I tried a pork tenderloin the other night and was not impressed. They do seem to have a wider variety of food choices, though, than other frozen treat places. Update: Recently got the sourdough melt, and that's good. Their mashed potatoes aren't awesome, but that at least seem to be "real" mashed potatoes, not reconstituted potato flakes. They come with chicken gravy which is eh; salty and chickeny. Upbeat interior, clean, friendly service. Oh, and I do enjoy their root beer :)

I hate fast food, but this is one place I like. The food is really good and they have a wide variety of things. The custard is very good.

There's better custard to be had in Lawrence. But for a quick, easy custard fix and hell, a greasy food fix... Culver's is your spot. I actually prefer Culver's plain old chocolate custard. Just plain. Nothing on it. It's good and creamy with the perfect consistency. It would hit the spot if I had a chocolate craving... OR a custard craving. How convenient...

This place is awesome! Not your run-of-the-mill burger joint where disaffected adolescents will unapologetically mess your order up and serve you cold fries, just because you are in the drive-thru. The employees here genuinely seem to care about customer satisfaction. I have never been here when my food wasn't fresh and the lobby wasn't clean. Totally worth the money to come to a place where the food is decent and the service is consistently fast and friendly!

Great custard, even though it's more expensive than a ice cream from the golden arches across the street, it's much much better. And, if the custard is not perfect (too frozen, melted) they are more than happy to make it again. I have always been impressed with the extreme friendliness of the staff at this Culvers. It could have something to do with the very involved owners who are often there working a shift. If you a frequent customer, many of the staff take the time to remember what you orders! They bring food to the table and come by and ask if you need anything. This Culvers is simply not your standard fast food burger joint. Oh yes, the burgers are vastly superior to the golden arches, and better priced too! Consider the patties are bigger and they are made out of real God-to-honest beef! They are more than happy to put any burger on the sourdough melt if you ask, which I love.

Burger was ok, not a whole lot of actual burger to it. Definitely get lots of napkins with it. Fries were pretty good. Don't know how often I'd come back, mostly gave it 3 stars for the root beer which is fabulous.

I love their frozen custard so much! The vanilla flavor is very good as well as some in the flavor of the day. Last time, I bought four pints of frozen custard for a party. The price is only $7 or $8 total, which is not expensive at all. The waiter was so nice in taking care of the package for the frozen custard in the extremely hot weather in Lawrence. The mint Oreo flavor is so good that the pint was almost gone in an hour.

The streak continues-- never met a Culver's I haven't liked. Kind of wish it was located further north than it is, but that's about the only thing I mark it down on. Food is what you know from Culver's- greasy, delicious burgers. Awesome frozen custard. But what always sets Culver's apart is the service. I've said it before, I don't know how but they seem to attract the friendliest people to work there. And they must train them exceptionally well, because the service is uniformly good at each Culver's I visit. This one was no exception.
