I wasn't impressed, but I will say the prices and serving sizes were amazing. Came for breakfast, service was fast. Ordered a coffee which tasted VERY weak. I ordered a simple eggs platter and a side of fruit. I was expecting fresh fruit but it was the kind soaked in syrup, which isn't what I wanted so I didn't touch it. The bread was my favorite part - it was awesome and very moist. Nothing to get excited about in my opinion, and the fact the coffee was bad put a bad taste in my mouth about this place.

We visited on a Saturday morning, and based on the reviews here on Yelp. It took a few minutes to get seated, yet with a popular place that's to be expected. Our waitress took our drink order quickly and took our order when she brought our drinks. Due to a couple of large groups, our order was a bit slow coming out. The eggs were lukewarm at best. My sausage was burned, and there was a constant odor of burned bread in the air. Looking over the crowd, most patrons were of the older demographics. I can see where this would be popular with them. For us it was 3 stars at best.

I love chicken fried steak. I only get to have it when I travel to KS. Dutch Kitchen makes fantastic chicken fried steak and pies.

If I could only use 2 words, I'd say "homemade deliciousness!" Growing up in Hutchinson, Dutch Kitchen is where we would always go for special occasions and I try to make a trip out there everytime I am in town. Members of the local amish community run this homey establishment. Service is friendly and they serve huge-portions of homemade comfort food. Fried chicken with mashed potatoes and cream gravy with a homemade roll is my favorite, but they also have superb chicken fried steak. Last night I had a bacon cheeseburger with all the fixin's and a gigantic portion of crispy sweet potato fries. If you go, you must save room for a piece of their pie with mile-high meringue. If you don't save room, get a piece to go.

Ohh the Dutch Kitchen. Its been a few years now since I've been, but boy oh boy, how fantastic. Growing up in Hutchinson, this place was a special treat (since it was quite a way out of town). Their food is all delicious, "home-cooked" familiar favorites, such as fried chicken, meatloaf, chicken-fried steak, burgers, pies of all shapes and sizes. You really can't go wrong with anything you order, but one of my all-time favorites was always to come out in the early morning and enjoy their homemade donuts. Baked fresh earlier than I care to get up, their cinnamon rolls are some of the best rolls I've ever had, the likes of which I've really never found anywhere else. As big as a plate, covered in delicious icing, and filled with ooey gooey cinnamon sugar, these rolls are [literally maybe?] to die for. Mmmm I want one right now!

All I can say is home made is questionable. Its decent food but it is losing its quaint charm!
