Stopped in for a late lunch while visiting Hutch. This place features good food, reasonable prices, fun atmosphere, and friendly staff. What more is there to say?

Cool beans is one of my favorite places to go in Hutchinson. However, whenever I think about going, say on my way to or from the Saturday farmers market, or any weekend day, it's usually closed. I swear it's been about 5 to 10 times I went and it was closed. Food's great, service and staff are better than the food, and the environment is hippie-dippy fun.

First things first. You can get beer here. And not just the swill offered at most Hutchinson establishments. We're talking Smokestack Series beers from Boulevard. Wine and ish too, if you're into that. Coffee's good. Atmosphere is cool, despite the echoey nature of the train depot. Check out the squished VW Bug on the north side by the tracks.

Best place in Hutchinson to eat. Unique and flavorful menu, fresh ingredients, friendly service reasonable prices, and outdoor dining option. They also have a great band that plays on Fridays during the lunch hour. One of the few vegetarian friendly places to eat in Hutchinson. LOVE this place!

A Must Try! And Try, Try, Try Again!!!! I absolutely love this restaurant! I can't say enough good things about it. I love that the food is always fresh, very healthy choices, and never skimps on the flavor! The restaurant is unique, eclectically decorated, with an awesome atmosphere. Gives it more of an old-school 1960's feel being in a train depot. I love all of the vinyls used as decor, as well as serving platters! Too clever! The only downside is the hours. As I no longer live in Hutchinson and work all week, it's pretty much guaranteed I won't be able to eat there ever again :( This makes me very sad, but that won't stop me from recommending it to any and every one who has a chance to eat here. Two thumbs way way up!

One of my favorite Hutch lunch spots because the food is always fresh! Fresh coffee. Fresh breads. Great soup. Excellent sandwiches. Cinnamon rolls & pastries vary--but always fresh. Big salads (and yes they're fresh too, no wilted lettuce here!). Consistently good food every time I've gone. This is a former mid-century modern train depot outfitted in vintage 60s decor. Pick up a vintage magazine from the rack to read up on Elizabeth Taylor's recent wedding to Richard Burton. Bright and sunny with huge windows. Minus 1 star for 1) plastic dishware and 2) the hard surfaces everywhere make for tinny sound acoustics and terrible air drafts...ladies, soften this place up! How about some shag rugs and oversized plants pretty please :) Call ahead to make sure they're open!

Great local sandwich place with a wonderful 60s/70s retro vibe. It's located in the old Amtrack station (which is still active if you want a train at four in the morning!) All the food was fresh and healthy-- to think that grapes are included but chips cost extra!

Great food and a great vibe. I like the non-traditional seating on the low couches (don't worry, grandma and grandpa! they have normal tables too!) Delicious, fresh, good-quality sandwich. I had grapes on the side, it was a little small but nice to have a healthy alternative to potato chips. It was fun to watch the train go by while eating :) Also, they had a very clearly marked recycling receptacle which I REALLY appreciated!

We've been trying to eat here when we visit Hutch for a couple of years, but the limited hours prevented it. However, we finally went and it was worth the wait. In a town that is super-saturated with greasy burger joints (sorry) the healthy and fresh menu is a breath of fresh air. The veggies are a welcome sight. I will try to make it again before we leave town.

Super Awesome! I'm not sure if this is a coffee shop in a train station or a train station in a coffee shop, but who the heck cares -- they have mushroom salt n' pepper shakers! All of the food is super-fresh (read: homemade breads, pastries and soups ). They have sandwiches, soups and coffee. Everything's good -- the sandwiches are really interesting -- the ingredient mix is unexpected (read: cottage cheese or cream cheese instead of Best Foods Mayo) and all of the food tastes very "soft," subtle and earthy. The whole place is like a spatial-time-warp because Cool Beans feels like it should be in Santa Cruz (read: extremely laid-back) and the decor and magazines are all from the 1970's. Last time we strummed through an old issue of LIFE that was discussing the future of Baby Carrie Fisher! Hey Rach, Let's do the time-warp again...

I have to admit that I didn't want to eat here when I saw the outside of the building. This train depot looks like an old K-Mart cafeteria. Fortunately, I wasn't in charge of the group, or we would have been eating lunch at the much nicer looking Jillian's next door. I forget the name of the sandwich I had because they are all named things like Rapture. (Maybe that's the one I had.) I really enjoyed my sandwich and iced black tea, as did my husband. The breads were clearly homemade and delicious. Others in our party had salads, and those salads looked fantastic. It was cute and quirky inside, with lots of seating. I imagine it would be crazy noisy in there when it's busy. There is quite an echo.

Ok. Not a large menu. Slow service. Food was good.

Love this coffee shop. Tasty sandwiches made with fresh ingredients, soups and salads. I do wish they had a little more variety but everything they do have is great. Quite enjoying their lunch specials recently, sandwich with side and iced tea for 5 bucks. Good prices and good food, wait is a bit long if you hit the lunch crowd but otherwise its fast. One of the best places in town for lunch, it won't disappoint you.

I love the atmosphere and friendly service at @Cool Beans. Add delicious food and fresh baked goods, and it's easy to see why this is a 5, for it's fun factor.
