Old Chicago Bistro

Reviews:
When looking for great local restaurants, it easy to miss this one because it's open for lunches only. If you're hungry for a great lunch, don't pass this one by. The food variety can meet most anyone's taste. The personal service cannot be beat and servings will fill you up. It is nicely decorated in Chicago style, but definitely has country hospitality.

This is an amazingly-managed branch of Sonic. It does a brisk business especially during lunch, but the food is still fast and fresh.

Typically, the service at this KFC is outstanding. There are a couple ladies in particular that work here that are just the most friendly people you'll ever meet at a drive thru. The food is also usually served very quickly and fresh. I don't have any complaints about this fast food eatery.

Great breakfast burrito; the coffee was good. The prices are great. The shop is a single room with lounge chairs, tables and chairs. Nice people.
Enjoyed white chocolate raspberry scone and Leslie's SF FF coffee concoction. Yummy. Like dessert. Lots of choices. My husband had sausage crust less quiche that he really liked. Great way to start our day. Headed to Quivira for a day of birding.
Our first time in. Is sunday and somewhat busy shop here. Apparently only one gal doing everything and she is trying. So service is slower but not bad. We each had breakfast sandwiches. They ok but got quite a bit of microwave construction involved. Dessert of choc-cherry brownies pretty good. Drinks are real good. Would like to try this again. First look inside was great but they need help and boost up the sandwich prep method to total hand made.

Wonderful lunch specials!!!
Great independent restaurant - there are maybe 8 tables. The menu has the traditional daily lunch special with desert. The bacon cheeseburger with tater tots hit the spot for me.
LeAnn's is not a bad place to eat, but not great, either. The menu is pretty limited; seating is also pretty limited. Service is decent, but not exceptional. The food is "home made" type food, but again, nothing special. Very reasonably priced. Also, they DO NOT TAKE CREDIT/DEBIT Cards.

Just had some great pulled pork with good smokey flavor. Delish even without sauce. The potato casserole and broccoli salad were tasty. Very friendly service in a small but cozy space with 6 tables. Server even gave us a small bag of peanuts to go. Will visit again next year when we're in town.
Great food and friendly staff. A bit disappointed that they were out of ribs by the time we arrived.
A small town bar-b-que with big taste. The food was excellent. I enjoyed the brisket and turkey. Baked beans were excellent as well. A nice surprise was the cheesy mashed potatoes. Unique and tasty. Very friendly staff. Please don't judge this place by the outside. A great meal. I'll go back if I'm in town again.

The Rack Billiard Cafe

3322 Railroad Ave
Great Bend, 67530
Reviews:
This is off the main street and sketchy looking from the outside, but it is worth finding. I sat at the bar for lunch and watched a guy practice his impressive pool skills. The server was attentive without being smothering. She made sure my drink was always filled. My food came promptly. I ordered a hot beef sandwich. The mashed potatoes were freshly mashed and the beef incredibly tender. The gravy was prepared with some sort of a commercial base and could have been better, but was certainly adequate. I would order this again, and there were many items on the menu that looked like they would be good.
This location is a little off the normal route in Great Bend, so visitors would probably miss it completely if they didn't look it up (or possibly see an ad for it on our one electronic sign in town). Anyway, the outside appearance is not the most inviting, but it actually has excellent burgers, fries, country fried steaks, etc. The staff is very friendly as well, and they usually have plenty of seating if you have a large group. Prices are not outrageous, either. Skip Applebees or Montana Mikes and check out The Rack. It has much better food than either of those.
This place is off the beaten path and looks like a dive. That being said its a great place to go with friends or family. You can get a great burger and have a beer while shooting pool or just hanging out. It makes for a decent night out.

Another hidden gem in Great Bend. The food was great. The service was nice and the price was excellent. The hours are limited, but this will be my breakfast place!
Great little cozy restaurant that appears to be a local hangout because everyone stared as we walked in. I am not certain as we have a loud talker in our group. The B&G had a good flavor and the biscuits had decent mass. The mouse shaped pancakes was received well by kids. The loud talker made a special request for biscuits and honey. No flak about his request. OH OH OH, the one thing that I noticed was the jelly selection. Yeah, they were prepackaged, but they had apple butter and a couple other choices besides strawberry and grape.
Decent place to eat. Priced well and quaint decor. I had the Monte Cristo with chips and a salad. Salad had a little frost bite and the lettuce was a little translucent. The issue is the odor - it smells of grease and it left my clothes smelling of deep fried food.

Born and raised in GB in town 20 to 30 times a year, unfortunately people I was with said this was best Mexican in town,,,, someone please reply and tell me a real authentic place, this place sucks, salsa is ketchup even asked for hottest u got, ketchup with jarred pickled jalepenos, Chilli relleno was a joke, no wonder they all went out of buisiness in wichita never again what about los dos on Forrest ???? Do they have ral meats like barbacoa and lengua? Help coming back in a week
This is one of our favorite restaurants in GB. The are fast, friendly, and have great food 99% of the time. They do have that rare occasion they mess an order up but they always make it right.
A very pleasant surprise. The pork chili verde plate was very well flavored and accompanied by delicious traditional refried beans. We also had tacos carne asada. Very well flavored meat. Three generous tacos. The menu said it was accompanied by a tomatillo sauce. The red chili in the sauce far overpowered any tomatillo flavor but was good any way if a tad spicy for my Kansas palate. This dish was also accompanied by traditional refried beans with some queso. The decor was pleasant.

If you are looking for a good, local, old-fashioned hamburger establishment, Mr. Burger fits the bill. This is another longtime staple of Great Bend, and is very good for moderately fast food. I've gone here occasionally since I was a kid. Prices are a bit higher than most places in town, but the quality is also a bit higher, too. Probably the closest comparison to a chain restaurant would be Steak n' Shake. The burgers are similar, if a little bit bigger than Steak n' Shake's.
