Went for breakfast and had egg scramble with egg whites and sweet potatoe hash. It was very good. Scott's breakfast was good but nothing exceptional. Would defiantly go back and would like to stay there. Staff was very helpful and nice. Food was very responsible $20 for 2.
If you go to Fort Scott you must stop here. I can only imagine breakfast is awesome. We had lunch. It was great. Chicken Alfredo. Wow. I would guess the noodles were handmade. Great service. Nice atmosphere. Wonderful food. They were packed full of people so get there before noon.
Great coffee, good breakfast, and very reasonably priced (cheap as hell)

We really liked this place. Onion rings were awesome. Almost a tempura batter to them. Delicious. I got the broasted chicken and it was awesome. Everyone liked what they had, and we will absolutely be back if we are in the area. Oh, and there is a room in the back for groups.
I will try to time my drive's from KC to Pittsburg to put me near Fort Scott around lunch time if possible, just so I can drive slightly out of my way to eat at Nu Grill. Basic American and diner food, done very well for a very reasonable price. Good burgers, and fries. Great onion rings. Good chicken strips. Comfortable seating, especially in the table top sections. But for the full experience, sit at the counter. Someday, I hope to try breakfast.
Food is always good. Value is OK. Their pork fritter sandwiches are always my favorite. Sometimes their fried squash is over cooked but edible. Steaks are just Ok. Chicken is good and a community favorite.

Yep, it's Taco Bell. Not a lot to say about that, folks. There are few dining options traveling from KC to Joplin on Hwy 69 so I wound up here for a quick meal and it was pretty decent, as fast food restaurants go. VERY clean dining room with the 90's color scheme of white, teal, purple & pink. Definitely a trip down memory lane. The food was as expected and counter service was good.

Had a nice meal there a few weeks ago with my mother and family. All the food was excellent. The place is really small and we had a line to wait for. However it cleared fairly quickly. Service was fairly good.

This place is amazing! I highly recommend the Burnt ends ( Brisket) Saturday special ! The best BBQ I've ever had!
Sugar foot was a pleasant little surprise in whatever town this was in that we passed through! It was a Saturday, around 5:30. The place was empty. They have a "burnt ends" special only on Saturdays and that is what I got. It was actually really good!!! The outside looks kind of shabby, but the inside is actually decorated quite cool! It definitely doesn't match the exterior. It is clean and friendly inside. The lack of stars comes from our service unfortunately. We had about 8 people in our group, but like I said before, the place was empty. Our waitress took our drink orders and we got those pretty quick. It took about 10 minutes later for her to come back and take our order. The food took a good 25-30 minutes to receive. It was a pretty long wait for a BBQ joint. The food was good and the sauce was pretty good too. I would recommend calling in to place an order if you want to go here. The wait was almost unbearable with angry, hungry men! The waitress was also not too enthusiastic. I think she was in high school. She refilled some of our drinks, others we refilled ourselves, and she never checked on us, we had to holler at her to come over - she was playing on her phone. But I guess it couldn't been worse, no one was rude, she was just a teenager.
One of the best BBQ joints around these parts. Between the friendly staff & great food it's definitely worth a little drive.

My son will attend college here in a few weeks so we stopped off to show his mom the school. Stopped in here because one of his coaches had recommended it. Really good food, service a little slow. I had the Saturday special, boiled shrimp. Very good for a non-coastal area. My wife had a burger, my son the chicken fried steak, and his girlfriend had a chicken sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their food. Homemade fries were great. Side salad wasn't that impressive.
Good overall experience. Had the Sat. Night boiled shrimp special. I had the full pound portion and while a bit pricey ($(18) it was quite tasty. cocktail sauce was very good and spicy. Came with a side salad, fries, slaw and a mini corn cobb. I had two blue moon draws and my tab with tip was over $30. Lots of TVs to watch the game and the service was very good even though they were very busy. Place was LOUD but I guess that is to be expected for a sports bar.
Food is usually pretty good. Service is hit and miss. The clientele is sometimes iffy. Seems a lot of locals like to frequent and get into bar fights. Servers are not always attentive to customers which otherwise ruins the visit. The sirloin tips is always good.

For $87 (this included tax) I was expecting a whole lot more. Now, I used to stay in this hotel 30 years ago so I know it is an older property. Cleanliness was not bad but the rooms are tiny especially the ones with double beds. Good luck with four adults in a room - very tight. The refrigerators and microwaves are a nice touch but the bathroom is small but at least you have an outside sink. Beds were not that comfortable but overall OK. Again, for this kind of nightly rate I expect more for my money. Breakfast was almost non-existent. Don't expect hot items unless they come out of a toaster or microwave. Orange juice was some type of Hi-C drink and breakfast cereal was some kind of off brand. The swimming pool was marginal at best and my granddaughter and I skimmed about 200 crickets out of the pool so we could enjoy it. For$10-$15 less I would give this property another star. Hot food items in the breakfast bar and cleaning the swimming pool might have earned another star. There are better rooms in Ft. Scott.
I was not expecting this to be a fancy hotel. I knew it was older and that is fine, but I was hoping it would at least be clean. Yes it does have a microwave, fridge and TV. But when entering the lobby, I noticed it also has a pungent odor that is hard to stomach. It smelled like body odor and gas furnace (it's July). The room smelled the same and even after several hours of the noisy AC running, it was still just as strong. The bathroom sink was held up with 2x4s and the room was dreary. I checked the pillows and they stunk. Underneath the pillow case, I found a yellow stained pillow. All of them were that way. I will never stay here again and had another place in town been vacant, I would have left. Next time I'm in Ft. Scott, if this is the only place available, I think I'll just sleep in my car.
