Since I've been back from California, the one thing that I have missed is good authentic ethnic foods. Sure there are plenty of mexican restaurants around, but none had that authentic flavor and menu that I was looking for. Until now. There have been at least 2 or 3 other restaurants in this location, but none lasted long. I have very high hopes for Cancun though. The food is super fresh and authentic to the taste. (it's the only place I've found where I can get carnitas, carne asada, chorizo, and even fish tacos!) The staff is very friendly, and the environment is welcoming and comfortable. The place fills up fast and stays busy during the day. We hit it lucky and arrived just before the noon rush. The chips and salsa are home made, and so are the tortillas. I had the carne asada plate, and oh my goodness. It was just what I had been missing. The guacamole was fresh and delicious, and everything was cooked wonderfully. I'm definitely going to be going here as often as possible!
While I originally gave this place three stars (mostly for having a disgusting bathroom, and having a generally queasy stomach after learning this fact), it struck me that there really isn't anywhere to eat for miles. The food wasn't bad and the staff were very friendly. Don't hold it against me, but understand that I know what I know. The food prep practices used in the kitchen will be communicated throughout a restaurant, whether good or bad. If a restaurant has a filthy bathroom or dirty floors in the dining area, you'd better believe that the kitchen is also the same. Sanitary care (or lack thereof) doesn't magically improver at the threshold to the kitchen. Keep this in mind when you visit the restroom at any food establishment. Thanks for making lunch, I appreciate the meal. Please do clean your bathroom though, as it's making some of us continue on down the road.
Best Mexican Food in the Wichita, Ks area. We eat here once or twice a week... sometimes even 3 times a week. Amazing friendly service.
