While visiting the area it was suggested that we take our 10 person group to this establishment. I'll start by stating that the service was very good. We had a great waitress who handled the entire table. The food was a let-down. This is as far from authentic Mexican as you can get. The salsa tastes like ketchup with some spices thrown in. I had tacos and they came smothered in melted cheese. They were HARD SHELLS which were obviously soggy. The meat was pretty much flavorless. All in all, it's pretty bland and tasteless food. This place needs a lot of work. Apparently, the locals like it a lot. As a traveler I would never go here again. It's pretty bland and bad. Nice big room with lots of tables and chairs.

They had people waiting because they got a 20 person table and the kitchen fell over an hour and a half behind. So everyone else suffered..finally after 35 minutes they sat us. Then it just took awhile from there. The chicken fajita wasn't bad but the steak was overcooked and hard. I did enjoy most of the fajita but wouldn't go back

How can we trash good ingredients. They get 3 stars for doing a decent table side guacamole. No cooking here, merely assembly.

Such an excellent establishment. 5 stars. Great food, great service, and a great place to have a party! The bar has the best selection of craft beer that you'll find anywhere and if that's not enough, you should try the amazing craft whiskey flights. Truly amazing!

I came here with a group for work so it was not my choice to eat here. Wow. Terrible salsa. It's was basically crushed tomatoes with nothing else. Really terrible. How can people think it's good? Google salsa recipe, people! Ordered a chile relleno - it was barely warm and the chorizo was the mildest I've ever had. The churros tasted like rancid oil. Yuck. Will never return.

Somebody told me that this was the best Mexican food in South Bend. They lied. Even if you were on Prince Edward Island, this would not be good Mexican food. Still, it's clean, and the service is decent, so it deserves two stars for that.

Okay. This place is not really Mexican and is VERY Tex-Mexish, however there are antlers on the wall!!! The hideous red "salsa" we were originally served had the consistency of tomato sauce (but the chips were freshly fried). Later, the waiter brought us a very strange indescribable (at least spicy) green salsa. The portions were Cheesecake Factory size, however the fake cheese on my tamales was a little frightening (but they DID have tamales). There was no special drink menu so I didn't get a Margarita or any alcohol. For dessert, both my friend and I got Fried Ice Cream (which I love). You had the option to get it with caramel or HONEY! And it was real whipped cream or ready-whip and not that nasty cool whip stuff. There is nothing else on the side of the road in rural Indiana, so if you are ready to eat fake Mexican, stop on in! (Plus, the service was great) One more thing, there was a heavily painted festive car outside that claimed it would take you do the Hacienda. I wanna ride!

Just had drinks. Not a bad selection of tequila. Margarita mix is made in house. Too sweet for me but my companions liked it. Salsa was above average.

"Mexican Food" a la gringo. Eating at Hacienda is about as like eating at a real mexican restaurant as eating at my grandma's house. Every little thing about it exudes fakeness. The chicken is ALWAYS dry. They must prepare stuff from frozen precooked "food". I can make a frozen burrito in my microwave. And it is just as good. This place isn't "Mexican". It isn't even Tex-Mex. It is Hoosier-Mex. Which is lame. Do yourself a favor. Eat at someplace where the proprietors and the ethnicity of the food share some common background.

Went there two nights ago for the first time for a late Valentine's Day dinner; very busy when we arrived (which is usually a good sign), and the host quoted us a 30-35 minute wait (we were sat within our quote time). Had a good experience at the bar while we waited and the bartenders were helpful with giving some suggestions on drinks (tried the orange frozen margarita; very tasty but not too strong). The reason that this place has two stars is for the awful service and lackluster food we received afterwards at our table. Our waitress insulted our next margarita order and literally said the words, "Ew, that's just gross!" (to elaborate: we ordered a Cabo Wabo Margarita.... Nothing out of the ordinary). Really, 'gross'? Not to mention we ordered this to be brought out with our meal and it was not. Our food came out next (fajitas, and their 'famous' wet burrito) and it was NOT HOT. Barely warm! I even placed my hand on the fajita skillet and it was not warm at all.... The burrito was not warm inside and the plate was not warm, either (and it was explained that this was ran through an oven/melter to melt the cheese...) We asked for a manager who came by shortly afterwards who explained, "Yeah, this happens from time to time but we aren't sure why..." After they took everything away to have it re-made, our waitress came by asking if the food had been delicious; we hadn't even had it at our table for 5-7 minutes before they cleared it. We were just astonished. Here's a tip, Hacienda: figure out why your food comes out cold to your guests 'from time to time', and hire some servers with some common sense.

Very friendly staff. Chips and salsa good. Tex-mex atmosphere and menu. Chimichanga was small but tasty.

Warsaw...come on. Are your taste buds completely dead? You have several good Mexican restaurants in town now. Let this place die.

Taco Bell does better Mexican food. Over priced Margaritas. Wait staff was really bad.

My boyfriend and I stopped by this place for a bite to eat since it's the on the way from Chicago and let's say I wasn't very satisfied. We both were very tired and hungry from the long trip and I was expecting the food to be somewhat close to cebolla's. It was no where near it. We both got burritos except I got the wet burrito and goodness, the meat did not taste like real meat... It definitely tasted like processed meat or something similar to it. just very disappointed.

3 stars for the Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday frozen "out of the machine" margarita specials. (For the record I prefer frozen margaritas out of a machine.) The food is horrible (1-2 at best). Tuesday: Frozen margarita special $3 mugs. Wednesday: $2 glasses with $1 hangers (extra shot of tequila) available. Thursday: Top shelf on the rocks margaritas for $5 Wait until you get loaded on the cheap margaritas before eating their food.

Not good food at all, it reminds me of a bad chi-chi's meal. Salsa taste like un-seasoned tomato sauce, and they offer ranch dressing with nacho chips, come to think of it, that may have more flavor than the salsa. The entree was no better. The only thing Mexican about it was the fact it had a tortilla. Service was good and waitress offered good beer recommendation. Otherwise not worth the trip.

I went there the other night with my significant other and we both decided to never go there again. We sat in the bar section of the restaurant and were served chips and salsa immediately. The salsa was like ketchup and had no flavor. We ordered the small Queso sauce. It was extremely small and tasted gross. I ordered the Chimichanga ( black beans inside) dish with the sides as rice and fried beans. I ate one bite of the Chimichanga and the sides were okay. I would not recommend the Chimichanga as it is very bland. My other half ordered the Steak Fajitas. My other half ordered a soup as well to come before the meal. He thought the soup was okay. However he barely got a bite of it before the meal came out. It seems like the just warmed our meals up and served it. It tasted very much like processed food. He could count the number of pieces of steak he got for his Fajitas. He had to ration them out so that he could have meat in each shell. He also had way too much lettuce to put in the shells. When you are paying a little extra to eat steak, give the man his steak! We also order drinks, the Margaritas. I had the sour apple one and he had lime. They were okay, but I don't want a slushy I want an "adult beverage".

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
