Always great service and food. Try a horchata for an authentic treat! Even when busy the service is good. I had enchiladas de mole which were amazing. Always a good experience!

Very good authentic Mexican food, prepared quickly, and tastes great. Service is hot or miss, sometimes you get drinks refilled and bill when ready to go, other times drink refills, salsa and chip refills, and bringing the bill, are very slow. I have had to just get up and go to the cash register and wait for someone to to come then have them find our server and get the bill, as we would get tired of waiting and had other things to do. Then sometimes the servers are on it and drinks are refilled and everything as it should be. The food arrives very fast, barely time to eat the chips and salsa, and tastes very good. Prices are average and as expected. Nice place to eat. Recently remodeled inside and added all new colorful tables and chairs.

Went to Cholula's tonight with my family and I must say I was very impressed. I had the shrimp fajitas and they were absolutely perfect. The onions and green peppers were cooked and seasoned just right with a bit of crunch still in them. The medium-sized shrimp were charred just to the taste and were tender and juicy. My plate of sides and tortillas was steaming hot and very adequate to prepare four really big shrimp tortillas....yumm. As I write this I'm in pain as I'm so full of all this great food!! If you get a chance to eat at Cholula's you won't be disappointed. The place was recently beautifully remodeled with new floors, tables and chairs and is probably one of the nicest Mexican restaurants I've been in. We went at 5pm and the place was already packed! Service = Food = Ambiance = (Dinning area was kind of crowded)

Shelbyville, Indiana seems to be untouched by the world of Yelp. Sometimes it means others think that there's nothing Yelp worthy here, that's not the way I think I'll Yelp everything. Scratch that, there seems to be a few establishments around Shelbyville that have been Yelped, a lot that looks good and I want to try next time, but still its mostly untouched, so if you're looking for FTRs and FTTs, if that's your thing. If there was at least one place that should be Yelped in Shelbyville Cholula Mexican Restaurant 2 is that place. A friend who lived here recommended Cholula Mexican Restaurant 2 and said this was the best in town and everyone comes here. It had to be if they have 2 of them. We ordered then waited. At first we kind of joked about how the quality was going to be like other Mexican restaurant we tried in the Midwest which we didn't like. It already had the right feel and smell to the environment so I had a feeling he might be right. The dishes came out and I was relieved cause everything looked and tasted delicious. I needed something good that made happy cause I was the driver I was drained. We ordered the steak fajitas which was served on one of those hot plates, watch yourself extremely hot, the food was sizzling and nicely in size. I liked that it was served on the hot plate, a little extra effort. We also ordered some enchiladas and a few other items. Everything was well made and delicious. yelp.com/biz_photos/chol… They also served us some complimentary freshly made tortillas chips and some salsa. My friend said it really fills up at dinner and Fridays, I can see that, there was a lot of tables and it didn't look like the business was struggling. Prices were pretty reasonable and portions were good, not small. I had no complaints and was satisfied with everything. I'd say it was as good as some of the better Mexican restaurants I've been to.

Chips were warm that's a plus in my book. But the salsa definitely came from a can or jar. (Not real). Let me say that I love salt, but this food was way too salty, I have never complained about too much salt before.. Only lack of salt!! I actually kept it to myself, then my wife said. "Mine is way over salted, how's yours?" Terrible food, I would never go again.

Love the food here! Service can sometimes be below average, but generally we are well taken care of. The place could use new flooring and a little sprucing up. We've been going there for years and hope to go there for many more.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque.
