I applaud Culver's in Schererville, IN for their support and participation in Autism Awareness through their hosting an event yesterday where 10% of all sales was donated to the Autism Society of Indiana. What a festive affair it was where families with children on the autism spectrum enjoyed a fun family night out!! The staff was helpful and engaging and my 14 year old grandson on the spectrum had a great time. Thank you Culver's of Schererville!!! PS: I LOVE their shrimp too!!

Three or four times a year I travel to Northwest Indiana on business, and I always stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Schererville. With all the great local food options in NW Indiana and Chicagoland, I must admit that I manage to eat at Culver's as least once on the trip. Why not? They are close - a 30 second walk - and have pretty good food. On those winter trips when it's dark when I return to the hotel and don't feel like going out again, it's an easy trip. The burgers have a pretty good flavor, particularly a double burger. Some butter burger places have more authentic offerings, but Culver's burgers are tasty enough. The frozen fries aren't bad either. What helps complete the meal is the ice cream, like a concrete. Not all the food is worth eating. The breaded pork tenderloin sandwich is far from authentic and has an unpleasantly salty and prepackaged flavor. Once was more than enough. The fish dinner was also remarkably low in flavor. The key lesson here: stick to the burgers and ice cream, and you will have an enjoyable meal. I wouldn't eat here every night because it would become monotonous, but I would feel as though I missed something if I skipped a visit during a trip.

I am a total fan of Culver's; I love their cheese butter burgers and onion rings. They have some of the best burgers when it comes to fast food. Also, I have always thought they had some of the best customer service. However, today I went through the drive up and I felt that my service was not good at all. I ordered and after I paid I asked if I could get extra ketchup in the bag. The guy comes out to give me my food, and I ask to see if I have some ketchup packets in my bag. He looks in the bag and says " no", so I let him know that I asked for some. He looks at me like, "what do you want me to do about that." I say that I want some ketchup, and he says, "oh, well there's none in the bag," and goes back into the store. I was surprised by his lack of concern or lack lack of urgency. Since I was in a rush I could not go in get some ketchup. When I go places customer service is an important component for me, because I have worked in customer service, and I know what is expected of the worker. And when it lacks, I feels that shows poorly on the business. I gave this Culver's three stars because the food was excellent. My onion rings were cooked to perfection, crispy the way I like them. But I have definitely experienced better customer service than I received today.

I was impressed with the seafood they offered on their menu. My wife and I enjoyed the Cod and Shrimp dinner. The employees were very polite and nice!

It must be me. I must be speaking in another language whenever I walk into a Culvers. I told the little girl behind the counter that I wanted a single delux basket. She then proceeded to ask if I wanted a double.NO! Then she asked if I wanted the delux. YES! With Cheese. NO! The basket. YES! I got a double delux with cheese. Of course I got charged for it. But they don't give you a reciept unless you ask for it, so I didn't find out until I got my food. They must get a tax credit for hiring the window lickers off of the short bus.

You can't beat Culver's for fast food. It cost little more than most places but is so much. Better.

Yep - what Karen said! Join the Culvers club and they send a coupon for buy-a-value-meal-get-a-value-meal. Cool!

My first choice for dinner is not a fast food restaurant, but let's admit, some nights when you are racing home, you just don't have time for anything else - and if I have to eat fast food - then it should be good fast food. The burgers and everything else on their menu is head and shoulders above the golden arches. The burgers are juice and they don't skimp on the toppings. The fries have always ben crispy, and if you have never had a cheese curd - try them. How can deep fried cheese be bad? Onion rings are great too. Want to try something a little healthier? Their soups are awesome and they change them daily and they have great salads as well, and a good grilled chicken salad. Their shrimp basket is good and so is their fried chicken. And then there is the ice cream. Go in just for a good sundae! (Their ice cream cakes are good too). This Culver's also supports the local area with clothing drives and special nights where they give a portion of proceeds to local groups like the LC band and others. This is not a fine dining restaurant, but when you don't have time to cook or go to a sit down restaurant, this is a great place to go - you won't feel as guilty as a trip to the golden arches.
