Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Good wings, good drinks, good times. Tuesday night is bottomless wings and I promise it's worth it. The staff is polite and the food is good. It's not too pricey but a large group is going to spend a good amount.

It's been over an hour and I'm still waiting for my food. They were also out of the first two beers I ordered. It took about 30 minutes just to get water. I don't understand how this place is in business. When my mom mentioned something to the hostess she had to wait a while for the manager. The manger came over and said she was "a little busy" and couldn't talk to my mom at the time. Great family dinner!

Might be one of the worst restaurant experience.s that I've had in a long while. Nice enough waiter, but 30 minutes for food & one of our party still received a raw hamburger. Won't be going back.

You talk about food that tastes like it came from a can or a box, Quaker Steak is the place! I've been here several times trying to give them a chance hoping I'll find something I like but I just can't find it. Last time I went I ordered a supposed "loaded" nacho appetizer, the nachos were stale and they didn't give me jack you know what for toppings! My days at Quaker Steak are definitely numbered. I've given them about 4 trys now and each experience is worst than the previous one. If you're in the Ameriplex, go down the road to Longhorn. You'll get a better meal there at not much more of a cost especially if you have one of Longhorns coupons from the Sunday paper. About the only thing worth going here for is the bikini contest during the summer months.

Ok, I've been to this place many times in the 7 years that I've lived in the region. In the past, food was always decent, and service was on par. But this most recent trip will be my last. Here's how our visit went down: We went with a large group of people. We got there and were told the wait would be 15 minutes. After an hour and a half with no updates, we began prodding the hostess, who was rude and unhelpful. After another 15 minutes, we were finally seated. Ok, so it was a long wait. We had a large group, so I could let that gaffe slide. We were all there to do the hot wing challenge. So we put our orders in, but that was before being told they had no t-shirts or bumper stickers for those who finished. Alright we are starting to get irritated now but we had been waiting nearly 2 hours and everyone was hungry. Another half hour goes by and we finally get our wings and food. The wings were good. Literally everything else was horrible. The sides were cold, the appetizers were cold, and they ran out of milk. We all finished the challenge, but we're pretty upset by this point. The manager and waitress were rude and didn't care that it was over three hours from the time we arrived until the time we left. They comped us one appetizer (again, it was cold and terrible) and knocked 10% off the bill, a paltry amount of they wanted to retain our business. Discounting the bill was a nice gesture, but far too little, and far too late. They took down our info, saying they would let us know when shirts and bumper stickers came in. That was several weeks ago. I don't think we will be getting them lol. All in all, terrible service. Food was awful, with the exception of the wings. Very rude staff. Yes, we were upset patrons, but they handled things very unprofessionally. One of the friends we were with owns a restaurant, so he is sympathetic towards these types of issues. But even he acknowledged that it was a terrible experience overall. I think I can speak for our whole group when I say we will not return and will not recommend (except to recommend that people avoid lol).

So ya. Not impressed. I ordered the steak, wedge salad, baked potato. My son ordered burger, fries and root beer. Hubby ordered the turkey wrap. Waitress informs us they are out of baked potatoes and root beer. Ok. So I change it to fries and lemonade. Waiting waiting waiting. Finally she comes with my steak and the burger. I ask about the salad and she says "oh, just found out we are out of salads and turkey." Awesome so now my husband gets to find something else and not eat when we eat. I ordered the steak medium. It was well done and disgusting. Also, no paper towels in the bathrooms despite asking twice for some. Never coming again!

The food was good, the service was good as well. The wait time was reasonable and the price was fair.

Great food, great atmosphere. The wings are great, good flavor and all you can eay on Tuesday night.

My fave place to go for wings, but the staff is like they pulled em from Wal Mart...my waitresses looked like Mark Farner from Grand Funk Railroad...it's gettin a bit messy, may have to find a new place for wings...

Haven't been here in a couple years, kids like the race cars so we thought we'd give a try.. Service: truly no issues - the waitress was friendly and fast. She left us alone and didn't annoy or bother us beyond filling our drinks and whatnot.. No real complaints here. Food: not horrible. I had a Mac & Cheese Burger, it was somewhat bland but part of that is my fault as I opted for no Pepper Jack cheese.. It was cooked well, wasn't overly greasy or gross looking. Wife had boneless wings and enjoyed them as well. Cleanliness: HERE was my issue... Place just didn't feel very clean. We were seated at a table with a bunch of stomped on fries on the floor beneath it, probably from the kids that were there prior. Seriously? Clean up between guests... I'm grossed out by restaurants with carpet anyhow, the carpet in this place just felt nasty and not well maintained. Overall the whole restaurant doesn't seem as well-maintained as when it first opened. It didn't feel like a health department emergency, just doesn't seem like the same effort is put into upkeep as it should. I may or may not be back, not something I'll go out of my way for anytime soon, but might try if options are thin.

Why this place is popular is beyond me. I don't get it. The food is very mediocre. Some of the worst chicken wings I have ever had. No taste and it felt like I was eating a piece of cardboard. Come here if you like to be around drunks and people who like subpar chicken wings.

We came here because of their reputation of good food. Wings were on the smaller size but the breading was good. Sauces were good too. My in-laws both ordered burgers. They were big and descent. Service however made everything a terrible experience. My mother-in-law asked for coffee but had to wait about 15 min for cream and sugar. We then waited 40 min for our food. My father-in-law asked for hot sauce and the waitress literally brought it when he was done eating. The last straw was we never got refills for our water and had to get the manager to bring us our check. We got there at 8:20 and didn't leave till 10:05. The restaurant was empty. Only one or two families there with us. The manager did take care of our bill but I would never go there again. I'll stick with Buffalo Wild Wings.

We ordered wings, guacamole w/chips, potatoe soup & fried shrimp appetizers. Everything was great except for the soup, had to send it back. It tasted like the can it was in!

Wish there was an option for less than 1 star. Haven't been here in months because the quality of the service has been atrocious. Thought we would try it again but what a mistake. Our appetizer came out after our food. Ordered the baby back ribs and they are so gross I can't even cut thru them with a knife. Manager was not very empathetic. Our waitress seemed more concerned with attending to the needs of her boyfriend than her customers. Was not offered a refill on my soda. This will be my very last attempt for this pathetic, sub par, and very disappointing place. The management should be replaced or this place closed for good.

I wish I would have read the reviews. It has a descent reputation around the country being a good stop and a descent chain to eat at. Has cars up on racks and bikes too. But pulling up to this place, it looks run down and dirty. That should have been my first clue to get away. It is dirty inside and has a scent that isn't all that pleasant. I wanted wings and they have a special on breaded wings. I had two orders and picked the Parmesan pepper and then the original bbq. Not impressed with it at all. Just your typical "I'm different" bbq sauce that was not good. The Parmesan Pepper sauce had potential, but fell way short of my expectations. The person I was with ordered the Pulled Pork Sliders. It was a 3 pack. After working hard on not gagging, and choking down 2 of them out of survival skills to eat to avoid dying, I thought for sure they were kidding. I mean, how do you mess up pulled pork? I decided to grab a piece off the 3rd sandwich, and sure enough, was not good at all. Mostly a fat chunk with a small string of meat attached. This place isn't going to be in business long, unless they do a complete overhaul on the menu, or purchase food from different suppliers. Thanks.

Our family loves chicken wings, but this place is horrible. Menu said "fresh jalepeno" and they brought ones from a jar. Chopped salad said bacon chunks, red onion, and egg, and the salad was delivered with none of those. The restaurant was very dirty and the bathrooms were so awful that my 13 year old begged to go across the street to Starbucks. Our server was talking with the rest of the servers and laughing and staring at our family when we asked about the food being different than the menu. Never again. Quaker Steak and Lube should be ashamed.

Where do you begin with this place. The food is just mediocre at best. I've been there once or twice for food and that's it... enough for me. The bar is decent for seeing friends but real food should be sought elswhere.

A special treat for the eyes and not bad for the tounge. As a late night spot in the area it works. Fair price for the flavor. Check with them about bike night if you don't want a crowd.

Worst service we have ever had in a restaurant. Incredibly slow and wait staff was indifferent. Food was fine. Our table was sticky dirty.

First realLy BAD experience with super long wait for our meals and waitress too afraid to tell us she probably forgot to place our order! Even after manager came to apologize it was still another 20-30 minutes wait! ! Then no silverware or salad dressing for another 10 minutes! They even sent a very nervous busboy out to finally deliver our poorly prepared meal, over cooked steak and broccoli and huge clumps of wet bleu cheese on the wedge salad! Terrible! Only thing worse might have been one of their cars falling on our table!!! Actually doesn't deserve even one star!

  • Alex S.

Well, quaker state seems like a great place to work, because the whoke wait staff does nothing at the wait station besides chat and laugh with one another. As a previous restauraunt manager id be pissed if i saw such idle staff doing nothing. Id be sending people home and hiring more bartenders because it takes forever to get a beer and a check. Oh, but the wings are awesome, thumbs up for the kitchen staff who have their stuff together, only reason why this place is in business. The wait staff sucks, and dosent take care of their customers. My order always is missing something simple. Like ranch...common ranch..there are five of you at the wait station..? Or how difficult is it to check a ticket before sending an order out?... common sense. Also what a waste of beer!!! Fix your taps or teach the bartenders how to pour!

  • Christian L.

Terrible food, terrible service, and a disgusting place to eat. Two hours before you close and you run out of glasses and silverware? 30 minutes to get our drinks and over an hour to get chicken wings when there were only two other tables in the place? Avoid this place like the plague. In fact, after 4 bad experiences in a row here, the plague sounds significantly more appealing than this lousy excuse for a restaurant.

Can I give Zero stars?! How RUDE! Once we walked in, the hostess was so rude! HORRIBLE ATTITUDE! We just left, didn't even need to sit down, thanks, but no thanks!

One time and one time only. This place needs to be closed, cleaned, re-staffed and re-booted. There are some good Quaker Steak locations...this isn't one of them. I give the other one star reviews 'mega dittos'.

  • Erin W.

We went here for a large family dinner. I have little complaints about the food and the atmosphere. However the service was bad, REALLY bad. We had a large party about 30 adults and 10 kids. We had 1 server who had other tables. She was really overwhelmed and often avoided us. The drinks came very slowly and the food came out all at different times. Not one time did the manager come to the table to speak with us or offer her help with another server. When spending well over $500 at a restaurant we were pretty disappointed. Not a place I would spend my money again.

How could you not love the wings here! We don't have any in the area where we live and make a point of trying to visit QSL. The service as of this visit was sub-par at best, which really lost at least a star, potentially two. There are lots of sauce options, none bad. My recommendation is the mango habenero and the Parmesan pepper. We'll be visiting again sometime soon, and hopefully the service improves so I can re-review and fix the rating that I really don't feel QSL deserves.

The place is usually mildly dirty, tables need refinishing so your forearms stick to the tables. The bathroom usually smells, the floor is slippery, the fixtures sometimes need repair and go weeks workout getting fixed. The drive through usually messes up my order. I've emailed corporate about these things and get no response. I come back here for the variety of sauces.

Stopped to eat here on the way home from a Chicago Cubs game. Should have left when my daughter ordered an unsweet tea and the waitress said they only had unsweet tea but could bring sugar. Honest mistake but it went downhill fast from there. Husband had to ask for a refill on his water and then wait way too long for it. Husband and sons meals came out after a lengthy wait. My daughter and I ordered a salad and soup. It didn't arrive at our table until at least 10 minutes after my husband and sons meals arrived. When the salads arrived no dressing was with them. We had to ask for silverware for our table. When the waitress returned with the silverware I asked my husband if he still wanted the Mac n cheese he had ordered and never received. He said it depended on how much longer it would take. The waitress replied "I HONESTLY COULDN'T TELL YOU!" I replied with "well this is bad!" She said she knew because several people had already walked out earlier in the night. The icing on the cake was when I moved a piece of lettuce on my plate to find a huge cigarette burn and crack in my plate. Won't ever go back.

Tried to eat at this location : 06/06/2014 Okay description states Crisp Romaine Lettuce... not horrible, horrible Romaine ribs that no one wants to eat... not even a bunny. When I am in Pittsburgh, PA with my sister and her family we all like to go Quaker State & Lube. So when I was driving from Chicago to Michigan... I was excited to see from the highway that there was one up ahead. I got off the exit and pulled in. Excitedly I walked through the doors and was seated. My waitress- Alex was bubbly, positive, and full of energy... suggested the Biker Chic Salad, my mother did as well. Okay yelpers, I was super hungry, and had already been driving a ways and I just wanted a refreshing salad... however when a random girl brought me the salad, I politely thanked her. As I was looking at the salad before me, It was piece after piece of romaine ribs... The whole salad was ribs... there was not ONE leaf of Romaine in my salad. I called Alex over and asked her is this usually how this salad is served. She embarrassingly said no... I guess the cook was way too lazy to get the lettuce out of the bag in the fridge. I told my waitress-Alex to take it back and then I told her I was leaving. Get this.... When I left I was handing her a tip... the salad was so bad she declined my tip. I think she felt genuinely bad. ***The waitress- Alex was great, that is why one star is till shining.*** I don't think she would have brought my meal to me like that. At least, I really hope not.

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat on our way home from Chicago. Should of waited at Longhorns for an hour. The food tasted like it sat in the kitchen for a while before they brought it to the table. Everything was luke warm, the ranch tasted warm/old, the cucumbers on the salad were mushy, the macaroni tasted like instant macaroni made in a microwave, steak was ordered medium and came out well done, a side of shrimp was ordered and we never received it (but still charged for it on the bill). I will never go back to another Quaker again. I can't stand McDonald's and I feel like I would of got better food there.

Love the boneless wings especially with the Thai-R-Cracker sauce.the service could be better but their food is so yummy and satisfying. Make sure you stop here on your way to or from the outlets

This is quite possibly the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. I was at this location 3 years ago and loved the decor and food. Well the decor is nice, but everything else sucked. I wanted to take my 5 and 9 year old out for a Sunday lunch. We arrived at the restaurant at 11:15, shortly after the restaurant opened at 11:00 am .....................................................................................................................................................The gentleman who met us at the door and proceeded to seat us smelt like liquor as though he'd just done few too many shots to get him going for the job..... whatever.... loser! The carpets in this place looked horrible .... I mean the floor looked so dirty in the lobby and the West side of the restaurant that I wanted to leave...... It looked like someone vomited by the bar and they just moped the carpet.....I was admit about leaving, but my kids got disappointed when I told them we were going. .........................................................................................................................................................This place smells like stale beer and vomit. Then the guy who stinks like hard liquor comes back 15 minutes later to take our order..... What luck! He takes our drink order and leaves us hanging for another 15 minutes when he brings us our cold wings and onion rings with our drinks. We had to ask another waitress who was pregnant for refills on our soda's as we never saw this drunk guy again until he gave us the bill ........................................................................................................................................................ I felt so sorry for the pregnant waitress as it she was taking over for the other waiters and waitresses who were congregated at the hostess table at the front door like they were eagerly awaiting the next guest to thoroughly disappoint them as well ................................................................................................................................................... This place literally stinks,.......... the food was cold and I couldn't imagine it tasting any better warm or hot. .........Whoever has let this place go as bad as it has really should be ashamed. ................ Lost of staff.... hanging out at the bar and front door,,,, but they do nothing but congregate while abandoning their customers.... they absolutely suck... yes .....totally suck for their food and for their crap for service.... Never, ever again. ........................................................................................................................................................... I have seen cleaner and better smelling porta-poties than this place,

Their draft taps weren't working and table felt a bit sticky. But they gave us free apps, free margarita and 10% off bill. Got the Thai R Crackers wings which were excellent. Also got the bacon cheeseburger which was very good. Staff was friendly and personably. I'd definitely come here again.

I'm a guy who loves guy food. I've come to quaker steak a number of times in the past, however I hate to admit it's gone all down hill. Their once great ambiance is now in need of a refreshing update, dirty outdated cheap tvs that are too small drape their walls and the once friendly staff young perky staff that was super friendly now is not so much. Today I ordered the 4 wheeler appetizer platter, consisting of cheese sticks, soft pretzels, onion rings, and fried pickles. The cheese sticks were good as can be expected, the onion rings weren't bad, the soft pretzels were good, fried pickles not at all. The sauces were ranch, a specialty cheese sauce and marinara. None was really good, but the cheese sauce was absolutely terrible. For our dinners I ordered a compact bucket, with the boom boom and medium sauces, my colleague ordered a boneless order of 12 with lube sauce. He seemed to enjoy his wings and said he would likely order them again. I on the other hand didn't care much for my traditional style wings. The sauce lacked flavor and the wings were incredibly greasy. The wings were definitely not jumbo as they advertised, but more resembled a cheap bag of wings bought from Gordons and slathered in cheaply made sauce and served at a ridiculous price of a dollar a piece. I don't want you to get the wrong idea, I love what this place could be. I used to like it 5 years ago, but the management needs to reinvest a little every now and then to keep it fresh, and they are not. It appears they are cutting corners, doing it cheaper to make up for lost profit from lack of business. I've seen it too much at restaurants and this place is too cool to let just go by the wayside, but until they make some changes I'm done here.

This place is awful. Food is terrible and wait staff is not experienced at all. Only redeeming quality is the outside area to sit and enjoy a beer.

Went to the Portage, Indiana location and the restaurant was dirty, the bar area had mass amounts of dust on the hanging decor. The food was cold and lacked flavor. Im a disable person and went to use the disabled stall in the women's restroom and the door was stuck and was trapped in there for over 20 minutes before they could get me out. Staff reported that that stall has been broken for months. No sign stating out of order. Staff were not apologetic that eventually opened the door. Stephanie the waitstaff was the only person who acted like they cared(tipped her very nice). The manager came over and reported that they normally keep the stall locked and was not professional. If your disabled don't go here!

    (1)
  • Gregory C.

After waiting 45 minutes for my food, it came out cold. If ordered loaded fries with my hot wings and they were cold and soggy. It might be that I live in a part of the world whose national dish is french fries, and maybe I've forgotten how fries are done in the US, but these were unacceptable. Never go here if you're hungry.

  • Stina N.

I was largely unimpressed with this place. The car themed decor was fun. Even though I'm not into cars, I'd take this over random crap on the walls like at Friday's... Our waitress was very nice and did her job well. Bonus points for accommodating three separate checks. The food was okay, and everything I ate came out lukewarm. I ordered fish n chips. The fish was kind of pathetic - about the width of a Gordon's fish stick and there were many bites where it was all breading no fish. The chips were actual chips not fries which was fine except the menu said fries. The fish and chips were both which were very well done (read: overcooked). The Mac n cheese would have been good had it been hot...or at least uniformly warm. There were bites that were cold enough that I'm pretty sure it was frozen and reheated in the microwave. Supposedly the wings are good, but I don't really care for wings. Also, the TVs are "set" so don't bother asking them to change the channel if you don't have a decent view of the game you want to watch. I get why they do this I guess, but it's not any less annoying when you're trying to see the Bears game on your periphery.

Service and food is always spectacular. Everyone is very friendly and seems to care about the experience.

They have a pick-up window not be be confused with a drive-thru window so you have to call your order ahead. You can probably order at the window but you'd have to wait awhile depending on what you order. Wings are good. I always get them plain with hot sauce on the side. Hot sauce is decent. Service at the pick-up window was good. Prices are comparable to similar restaurants.

After having a great experience at our first ever trip to Quaker Steak and Lube near Grand Rapids, MI, I was excited to visit a new location. My excitement soon wore off when we were told they were out of ranch dressing and celery. How does a wing place run out of ranch dressing? We were told the manager had someone running to the store to get more, but I doubt that, seeing as we were there 90 minutes and they were still out. The food was sub-par and the server was put in an unfortunate position of telling hungry guests that they were out of what they wanted. I'd skip this location all together.

  • Mark M.

I used to go here often when they first opened, but had not been there in a while. My wife and I took the family and one of my daughter's friends to dinner here. Horrible experience overall. Mistakes on the orders, late arriving order, and the fish sandwich that I had, which used to be very very good, was changed and there was more breading than fish. My son had wings and they were cold, like they had been sitting for a while. Makes you wonder why our food took so long to get to us. Go somewhere else, there are a lot of places that serve wings that will be better than what they serve here.

Let me preface with the fact that I've been in the restaurant industry, both front and back of house, for over 15 years. This was a really bad experience and I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone. I don't think my expectations were too high either because I lowered them when I saw the drive through and sat in plastic lawn chairs in the dining room. The hostess was rude, not welcoming at all. Our server was horrible. She had 3 tables, including us at any given time and we were there well before the dinner rush at 5 pm on a Tuesday. Our food took really long, then half our order came out (the hot food) WITHOUT SILVERWARE. So we waited for my dad's soup and salad...for 10 minutes. Needless to say by the time we were able to eat it was cold. The cherry on top was the 12 inch brown hair my dad pulled out of his salad. That's when I got the manager. We proceeded to wait another 15 minutes for our check before just going to the hostess stand to ask for it... I was ready to just keep walking out the door. Terrible service! Gross food!

    (1)
  • Alex M.

Food was great. Service was not. Waitress was nice but not attentive. Forgot silverware, didn't bring dip for wings even after reminding her. Drink was not refills until asked. Busser was worse. Asked him about dips. He forgot, seen him just standing around daydreaming. Asked him again and got oh my bad reply. Came back and pretty much threw them on table. So yeah not impressed and tip reflected that.

I don't want to knock all of QSL locations as this is the only one that is honestly this horrible. Family comes from Warren Ohio right on PA border where original QSL is located. That place is so good amazing atmosphere amazing food amazing people. Come to portage Indiana though and SERVICE SUCKS, the wings are drier than a desert. Had to ask twice for more sauce to actually flavor wings. Our appetizer was mozzarella sticks without the mozzarella when we ask for it to be fixed the only brought out two more... Wouldn't replace ones we had already "eaten" even though we explained it was just breeding and no cheese. I guess we should have spit them out. This place really is just a tourist trap. If you are locals save your money and go to BDubs or some other place. If you are a tourist and heading East down 80 wait till you get to a Quaker steak and lube in Ohio or western PA you will love the food there much better and experience what QSL should be. Portage, IN location is a shame and should have it's franchise pulled.

Good food. Ok selection of beer. I think they bought their table chairs at the dollar store. They are plastic, and would possibly collapse if you were very big.

They use to have a great fish-tailing sandwich, not anymore. The bike night on Wednesdays seems extremely popular. The food is ok but not nearly as good as the ambiance and location or potential. I mean considering the potential and appearances the food is barely mediocre.

Stopped on the way to the zoo in Michigan City. Got some boneless wings, the sauce had decent flavor, but they were cold like the rest off everyone's orders. My wife got a hamburger with veggie sides, the carrots were slimy so she tried to wipe them off and part of the carrot sloughed off in her napkin, obviously rotten or close to it. The service was really slow and the place was only about a third full. Our food had to be sitting for a long time. I am really dissapointed with chain restaurants, there doesn't seem to be any accountability in them anymore. Put on the no return list.

  • Frank R.

This place was very poorly maintained. (Dirty) That would only leave me to believe the kitchen is just as poorly maintained as the rest of the restaurant. The food was average. The service was average. The prices were also to high. I really have no reason to ever go here ever again.

So occasionally we come here for a family dinner and we stopped here on our way back home today and the food was absolutely terrible. The waitress was nice, but the quality of the food was absolutely horrendous, I would not of served my customers that garbage, especially the dishes that they are known for! I'm not one to complain or anything to management or to our waitress, I just one be visiting that establishment ever again..I hope your experience is better if you choose this place.

My boyfriend loves to stop here on the way to his summer home. I love that it is open late, has cold beer, and the Louisiana Licker sauce is delicious! We bought a bottle of it and the Arizona Ranch.

The all you can eat wings IS A SCAM! You'll wait for a LOOOONG time before you'll eat, even when it isnt busy. In 1 hour got 10 wings. WILL NO LONGER WASTE MY TIME GOING THERE EVER!

I'm in shock. I never would have thought that a car-themed chain restaurant would serve below average food at strange, somewhat unreasonable prices. I usually expect much more from the car-themed chain restaurants that I visit.

Like the theme which made the place fun. Also has a number of tv's for spots but does not have a full sports bar feel with the garage and cars inside. Sign says best wings which were very good but being the best is a stretch. Menu has something for everyone and impressive drink menu. Prices, food quality, average. Service below average but other staff assisted when we had issue. Would eat there again. I do like Buffalo Wild Wings slightly better overall.

I went in, one day before St Pattys Day, and ordered a Ruben. It was a special on the menu. 1. The waiter told us the kitchen had to go to the store as they had run out of bread 2 when my sandwich came it wasn't hot, not even warm. The cheese wasn't melted. I sent it back to the kitchen 3. Sandwich returned, corned beef looked all dried out, sandwich looked like it had been put together by a 5 year old. 4. I tried to cut it into 1/4 and my knife wouldn't saw through the corned beef. Took a bite and it was awful. Dried out, tasteless, and guess what. NO SAUERKRAUT. Who does that??? I refused to eat it and insisted they remove it from my bill. After we left, my (adult) daughter told me her fish basket wasn't very good either. Save yourself and go to Longhorn Steakhouse, up the street.

Wings are amazing ! I love the Chipolte rub ! Service STINKS every time I go there . Why can't management see that ? Yesterday I needed a beer while the bartender talked to a friend ? Not good . But as far as food goes I love the almost everything on the menu . Lastly , they just took a price increase AGAIN $$$$$

the wings were good: i got the buckeye bbq ones which were hot enough for me yet still had enough flavor. mango lemonade was a bit too sweet for me but whatevs you're not here for the lemonade damnit you're here for the wings. wish they were not understaffed but hey servers do what they can to battle the madness that is the 4th of july weekend. i got my order in relatively quickly.

We've driven past this place innumerable times on our drives to northwest Indiana and Michiana. And we both dig wings and "bar food", so we decided to hit it up and give it a try. It's always funny for me, as someone who's lived in more cities and states with public smoking bans than without, to be asked which section we want. Nonsmoking, please. So. This place is essentially a bar/wings joint with a garage theme. I would prefer not to sit under the Corvette hanging from the wall, thankyouverymuch, let's just admire the poster. The menu is full of wings, wings, wings, burgers, flatbreads, salads, and does include a few relatively healthy options (like grilled chicken strips paired with... broccoli?). We started with the triple queso nachos or whatever they were called. The cheese sauce was the best part, although the toppings were decent. The pico was kind of sparse, no extra salsa or guacamole on the side. Actually, I shouldn't say we "started" with them -- all of our food got brought out at the same time, with the vague apology from the waitress that they had "a new cook." Hmm. My husband devoured his burger and fries, said they were good. I got "Philly Cheese steak flatbread," which had chopped steak bits, grilled onion, mushroom, red pepper, a vaguely garlicky sauce and provolone (I think?) cheese. On a pita-like bread. It was pretty good, although I think they should call it something else (me and my Philly snobbery)... a large-ish portion but no side or anything. The service was decent but not great; the food was good but not fantastic; all in all I would stop back here since it's on the route, but not a place I'd seek out.

If you love cars this is place for you! I got the Cheeseburger which was delicious and the sampler platter. Best onion rings I have had in a long time! We ate in the garage which was great even with the strong wind. I highly recommend the wings and the restaurant! Will be back on our next trip up north!

This place is actually not bad when it come to food taste and the atmosphere is very awesome A lot of things to look at while you wait to eat BUT! The price for quantity ratio sucks so if you're coming here expecting to be full when you leave chances are you're going to have to reach into your wallet cause you're strictly paying for the atmosphere here. I had got a lemonade drink from the bar and it was babie size for the most part it was like a size u give a kid very disappointed and same goes for the food

If you are looking for a family friendly wing place with a jiffy lube decor, then bingo - Quaker Steak is what you've been looking for I've been here several times and haven't had a bad experience expect for a couple of Saturday nights where MMA fights were blasting on the TVs. Wings are better and bigger than BW3 and some of the other foods aren't bad at all. In the summertime, the outdoor bar section is a good experience. This is about a good as it gets in Portage IN.

I hate this place. The girls they hire to work there are surly, rude and poor at their job. Drinks are overpriced. The food is hit or miss, largely miss.

I'm still undecided on this chain but if you want interstate wings and need to stop and eat, you might as well try it. It wasn't all that bad. Stopped in here Saturday on the way home from the D, starving we ordered nachos for the app. They arrived with some sort of white queso on them, hey alright, but the nachos were...small. Like a half order at a regular place. Totally not enough to share with four adults. We ended up splitting a bucket of wings. One medium sauce and one with some sort of rub on them. They weren't bad. Service was decent. She seemed kinda pushy at first wanting to get our order ASAP but if you never been there before its kinda extensive. Another place crossed off the list between home and home.

Service was terrible, came in and no one greeted or seated us, they keep walking right pass, so me and my date went to sit down at a open table where the waitress was working the most and got Ignored for about 45 minutes, finally decided to leave, now the manager come and ask to seat us,with a local portage police officer coming up behind her, like we were criminals , never would return there at all... i would rather spend $100 dollars at gino,s in merriville for great service then 30 to be ignored!!!! racism is still alive and breathing here at this place

  • Sharon V.

This place is just okay, basically average in all respects. The food and service is standard. The wings, which are one of their "specialties" are decent but I have had much better. This was one of the first restaurants we tried when we moved to the area six months ago and I have yet to be back. I can see why it would be appealing to families, however.

Enjoyed their wings - what they are famous for. But other foods were so so. The decor was pretty interesting!

Having heard others claim the wings here were so great, we decided to try it on New Year's day for lunch. Figured it wouldn't be too crowded then and we were correct. Received horrible service by all - not that they were necessarily rude, just a bunch of completely disinterested teenagers. Got the feeling we were disturbing their boredom. We ordered the wings, of course, and were SO not impressed. They were small and their signature sauce was sickly-sweet (and we like sweet sauces). The "loaded" potato soup was served barely warm, pretty sure fresh out of a can, with absolutely no "fixins" - it was just horrible. My husband - a potato soup LOVER from way back - left half of it in the bowl. We are so glad we did not bother to try anything else. Will NOT be returning and actually wonder how the place manages to stay open!

The wings here are amazing. I love tearing into the wings with the Atomic sauce. The guinness here is good too. It also has a really fun atmosphere. I'd say the only problem about this place is the wait staff. Sometimes the waitresses and waiters seem to not care. It's a hit or miss really on if you get a good waitress or waiter.

  • Tim H.

Good wings but apparently they don't believe in quantity discounts as their pricing structure is all messed up. It's $7.99 for 10, $11.99 for 15 and $16.99 for 20 which is were it gets off. It costs $1 more for a basket of 20 then if you just order 2 separate orders of 10 for $7.99. It's also $28.99 for 30 but again 3 separate 10 piece orders would only be $24. This doesn't make any sense. This is the only place in the world that charges you more for buying more. Just order separately. Plus our food was cold when we got it. I know it it was late night, but I'd appreciate some hot hot wings at least. Tasted like the wings were under a heat lamp all night then slapped with sauce. Our waitress was nice though and agreed the pricing structure was F'd up.

OK Wings - the rest can be hit or miss, frequently my orders get messed up or come out cold (when dining inside). The service is usually quite slow and not the friendliest. I usually just stick to the drive thru window now and double check my order before pulling away. Good place to take kids though with all the cars, Twizzlers, and balloon animals.

If you love hot wings and racing, then you'll definitely enjoy this place. I've been here a few times and finally found a great sauce for my wings, Arizona ranch. Yummy!! The appetizer sample was delish too, deep fried pickles (I actually liked it), onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and the pretzels were awesome. My hubby and his friend had a huge 32 oz. glass of some kind of beer, make that 2 glasses. Wow!! We'll definitely be back.

Cool interior for car and motorcycle fanatics--extensive menu for those with a big appetite! We had fried pickles and french fries with cheese, bacon and scallions for an appetizer. I am still thinking about those fries!! The menu is huge and there's tons of options--everything basically fried and covered in sauce (take that how you will) Lots of TV's everywhere (including the bathrooms) so it must be a good place to watch a game (or nascar race) and you won't miss a second if you have to go to the bathroom. The waitress was so sweet--the wings were really spicy that my boyfriend got and he couldn't finish them...when she asked him why he said they were too spicy and she offered to go to her car to get him a Prilosec...so adorable! I couldn't eat there a lot but it was a fun stop off of the highway!

I should have waited to eat. But I have seen this place many times since it went up and was a little curious. I sat under a new Corvette and it did not leak. Woo Hoo for the Labor Union a raise! I had the wings and they were pretty bad. Yes they have about 20 flavors. But I tried ordering the mild with ranch and my waitress brought me ranch flavored wings. Yik! The whole place gave off this cheap vibe with the cars hanging off of the walls and tin decor. Spend the money on the food. I can see cars all day long on the road for free.

After reading the other reviews, and being an optimist, I decided to try this place out. Service (Kristin) was not bad. She came back and asked if we needed anything. She was quick with the bill and came back to tell us it would be ready soon. As for the food, soup was ok (potato) , chili, my husband had, was more of a purée paste. I had the steak and tequila lime wings. They did not taste like the tequila lime wings I've had before. The kids had burgers, steak and wings. The burger was ordered well, and not pink, yet it was and the steak was overly salted. I would not say the best ever wings. I am partial To Hooters, the kids and hubby like BWW's. For an hour ride from my house, I would go to something closer for a great steak. the decor was what I would expect. Nice. Probably would not go back unless I was on a road trip and wanted to eat out in the area.

I love Wings...I was not disappointed in trying the chicken wings. I had the mild (kids were with me) and the mid level hot buffalo wings. They were both good and next time I am going for it and getting the hottest wings. I finished the dance with a red velvet cupcake. It was gooood!

-meh Given the fact that I've only gone during lunchtime, and most of the time only gotten the buffet, this is only a review of that. The buffet is quite inconsistent with regard to the main attraction: Wings. Some days they're great! Some days they're no

Chain menu, chain uniforms, chains hanging from the ceiling. Good as it gets for what it is: Fried appetizers, Big Juicy burgers and fries. Expect to pay about $20 a person after they charge you for the pops and apps.

Quaker Steak & Lube are lucky their wings taste so good because their service is HORRIBLE. I have been there many times and not once have I had great service, even decent for that matter. Their wings keep me coming back. Once I sat in drive through while they looked for my food. The server thought it wasn't cooked yet. Only to find 15 mins later he found it in the warmer. The atmosphere is pretty cool. The cars are fun to see hanging around. All in all, get it to go through take out.

I wish I could give separate ratings for the food and the service. On food, this place is a solid 5. Service however, I am not even sure I could in good faith give it a 2...it was definitely of the 1 variety. I came here with my boyfriend and a good chunk of his extended family. I should also mention that we came here specifically for their allergy friendly menu as many members of his family have a serious gluten allergy. When we arrived, we were seated right away, and then it all went downhill. The table was sticky and covered in wing sauce. When we asked for it to be cleaned (three times) we got no response. Then our waiter took our drink order, he messed it up. Then we waited 20 minutes, he finally brought our waters and teas (Not even liquor). Then we sat...and sat...and sat some more. A table that was seated 20 minutes after us got their food, we still sat. Finally, we caught someone's attention and asked for the manager. She came over, cleaned our table, and apparently gave our waiter a swift kick in the ass, because we FINALLY got to order. Then he came and wiped our table (after the manager had done it), then we got our wings, and they were delicious. The menu is vast and has an amazing variety of wings. They are goopy and hot and sweet and spicy and flavorful. They had a huge list of options as well. Everything from mild to atomic. I mean, even Man v. Food said this place was great. Seriously, the food is excellent, but Adam didn't have to deal with the crappy service on his show. Finally, after we indulged on the wings we waited well over an hour for, we then had to wait a half hour for our check. I mean seriously. And even with the complaints to the manager and the seemingly genuine apologies, they didn't even comp us an appetizer while we waited for our food. I have never been treated so poorly in a chain restaurant. So order these wings to go...trust me, you don't want to waste your time at the restaurant.

Kind of expensive for what you get. Kids menu is just ok, and the kids grilled cheese is not kid-friendly.

Staff is rude, managers could care less about customer service, questionable kitchen cleanliness, most items on the menu are sub-par compared to cheaper better alternatives in the area.

I had heard of this place from my fiancee before it actually came to NW Indiana. Apparently there were already locations in Ohio and Pennsylvania that he had known of. It sounded awesome--all those wings flavors! I was thrilled when I was finally able to go. I'm not a racing fan, but I still think the decor is pretty cool. There's parts of cars hanging from the ceiling, fake gas pumps, etc...Also, lots of very nice TVs...I've come here when the Cubs were playing and liked that I didn't miss any of the action when I got up the use the restroom--there's TVs in the bathrooms too! I always overeat when I'm here, and for a decent price too! I usually get the wings and pretzels combo...The beer cheese for the pretzels is top-notch! I've had the onion rings too, and they breading make it. Very crisp, almost like ground corn flakes! I play around with the wing sauces each time...I stay away from the Atomic but have been known to enjoy Buckeye BBQ, Thai "R" Cracker, Golden Garlic, Arizona Ranch, and Louisiana Lickers. Each has it's own unique flavor and heat factor. It's fun to experiment, and I love having options! Every time I've gone, the service has been great, too. And they give Twizzlers with the moisty-naps at the end. Sweet! Luckily I don't live tooooo close-by. Otherwise I'd eat here a lot more often, and might end up with a weight problem!

My wife and I came here for lunch and I can tell you that the wings I ordered were decent sized but as usual they give you more wingettes than drummies. They had no seasoned flavoring sprinkled on them before they fried them so they were very plain. I didn't have that WOW! sensation when I ate the wings. As a matter of fact I ordered 10 wings and only ate 5 of them. I was disapointed with the flavor of the wings. The sauce was OK I guess, but I believe BW3's wing are more flavorful than QS and Lube. Everything was a little pricy and the waitress was a little rushy with us so she didn't get much of a tip. Overall the only way I will go back is if I go with the guys from work for some beers after work. I wont eat there anymore with my family. If I want wings, I'll hit BW3's instead. Later alligator!

In all honesty, the name "Quaker Steak and Lube" does not conjure up thoughts of mouth watering food. When my sister mentioned this place all I could think about was being under a car, draining dirty oil, and changing an air filter. But this place has some awesome buffalo wings. The sauce is great too! This resteraunt has actual racing cars mounted from the wall and ceiling. It's like a racing museum with food. As wierd as all this may sound the company actually made it work. I'll go back again next time I'm around these parts.

new wings? you're buying lunch? oh ok sure i'll go along :-) a saturday afternoon at Bass Pro Shop was not the first thing i had wanted to do, but my aunt didn't want to either.....and i felt sorry she was being dragged thier by my uncle so with an offer of free wings :-) i went to keep her company while he looked at shiny boats, bullets and bass things...... Quaker Steak & Lube located just around the corner was the place i wanted to be and after an hour or so we were there....walking in was kind of a maze....no hostess and not sure where the hell we were going.....finally someone showed up and we decided to sit in the bar area..... if you like, or love cars, this place is for you because they are everywhere.....even hanging from the ceiling...( is that right? lets see, i before e ?? oh never mind ) water and menus brought out quickly.....but i knew what i wanted and it was wings.....but checking the menu lots to offer...we started by sharing an order of fried pickles....and love fried pickels and these were did not dissapoint....not the usual slices breaded and fried...these were wedges...fried perfect and had more of a pickle flavor than any i have had before.... i guess my aunt and uncle felt like bikers this day becaise she ordered the *biker chick salad* ..... was loaded with orange sections, pineapple strawberries pecans and boneless chicken strips...with a poppyseed dressing she said it was really good.....Unc got his billy biker burger or something like that, basically a bacon cheeseburger, but it was cooked perfect and at 1/2 lb was more than enough for me to steal a few bites from :-) served with your choice of about 5 different sides, from fries to steamed broccoli.....he got fries they wer ok nothing special...... and now to ME :-) of course i had to go with the wings....i went with the supersize single order which is 12 jumbo wings and when they say jumbo they mean it, holy crap these wings are freaking huge.....very light breading and covered with sauce.....blu cheese and celery sticks come with or you can choose carrots sticks.....i went with 2 different sauces.....Hot...which was pretty good, not super hot but not a wimpy hot either with a decent flavor, and the Garlic....full of garlic flavor and swimming in butter :-) i would say the garlic was much more my fave of the two.....one drawback they charged us 99c for having 2 sauces in one order....i thought that was pretty lame..... enough food to stuff ourselves at lunch and bring some home too....trust me those wings are big....BW3's wings would run scared if they gotta look at these suckers...... they have a full bar but we just went with pop, free refils which is always nice.....the place was super clean, we had really good and friendly service.....big screen tvs all over the place so if your comming to watch sports you wont miss any action, even when you go to the bathroom because there are tvs in them as well :-) if i lived closer i would come back often but its a little out in the middle of nowhere for me.....but if your headed out to Bass Pro Shops or a day at the Dunes stop in, i think you will like it

So I went here when this place first opened and enjoyed them. They have unique decor with cool cars suspended from the ceiling and things. In the waiting area there are a few arcade style games and TVs in the floor as well as a decent bar area with TVs all around. I hadn't been here in a while but went recently with some friends. Man has this place gone down hill. The food was gross, our waitress was awful and the place was filthy. They use lawn chairs at the tables and those all looked like they hadn't been washed since it opened and the booth we were in felt sticky even on the seats and wood frame like it never gets wiped down. One of my friends just ordered soup and when our meals came out she had forgot it, we inquired about it and she rolled her eyes and walked away then took about 20 mins to bring it back at which point she slammed it down on the table and walked away. She never returned to fill our drinks and we had to hunt her down twice for a bill. It felt like eating at a bottom of the barrel truck stop. Not worth another try unless they do a major clean up and staff overhaul.

Finally stopped in with my husband and 4 year-old since we had a craving for burgers and wings. We waited about 10 minutes to be seated when we were told about 30-35 minutes (not bad!). Nothing personal, but the hostesses or young teenagers in charge at the front could use a dose of communication skills. They seemed to be really bored of their job and when our pager number was called out, the girl who was to take us to our table did not make that known. So we stood there for a while wondering what was going on. Finally, the other girl signaled us to follow the young lady who was just staring at us I guess annoyed that we didn't assume she was going to take us to our table. A big turn-off. Thankfully, our waitress was super nice, bubbly, and attentive. We ordered wings with their HOT sauce and well expected them to be much spicier, but they were still good. My husband and I ordered burgers and thought they were ok. I ordered the coleslaw on the side and it was enjoyable. I stole some of my son's fries and they were much better than BW3's fries. They also have a great beer selection, since they now serve 3 Floyd's beers!! The restaurant was packed (as should be expected ), on a Saturday night. It's a good place to come with a large group and even kids, since they get their meals in a cute little paper race car type of container.

Okay it's super cute inside...they have full size cars and motorbikes hanging from the ceiling....but they inflated the menu prices to pay for all that "cuteness"....our bill for 2 adult lunches with pop and 1 beer with an onion ring appitizer and a kids meal was just under $40. My husband took us their for lunch...the food was okay...I had the chicken wrap...I didn't like that it had carrots, they just didn't seem to fit the flavor of the wrap...and they used the whole grain tortilla...which never tastes good...it also had celery..which I wasn't fond of either...I ate half and boxed the rest. It came with a handful of fries and for like $7.50 (pop was additional) I was expecting more...I wanted to flavors to come together instead of...why are their crunchy carrots and celery in my wrap?? My son loved the fries...I thought they were to salty..his chicken fingers were good though...(figures)...they used real chicken breast in the "fingers"...and he loved the "bendi" straws. I think it would be fun to meet up for drinks and an appitizer...we had the onion rings with ranch sauce and they were great...but as for a meal...I think I'll stick to the finger food!
