Most authentic Mexican food around and by far the fastest service. Ample parking and lots of seating. Summer weather outdoor seating as well. Full bar and the management can politely handle any disturbances. Great place.

Food was obviously not fresh. Absolutely nothing special, no different from what could have easily been made at home. I will not be going back there.

Pay no attention to the spooky hotel that it is connected to, this restaurant is fantastic authentic Mexican good food. Large plates, great flavor, fast and pleasant service. The spicy sauce is holy moly hoooooooot. Delicious.

Not impressed. A shady location, musky smell inside. Gross bathrooms. My daughter and I split the Ultimate Nachos. The queso was very watery. The beans had a funny after taste. The salsa was good, but too heavy on cilantro. Not appetizing at all. Left hungry with a stomach ache due to the food. Not good. Not authentic. Just watery, smelly and not very good food. Two stars because the chips, although over cooked, they are made in house.

Excellent Service, excellent prices, friendly staff Recommend enchiladas rancheras....delicious homemade sauce. We were driving on way to Indy and needed dinner. Glad we stopped!

The lunch, chicken fajitas were very good. Good size portion and cooked with peppers, onions and tomatoes. Tortillas were good and warm. The salsa and chips were okay. Salsa has quite an oil on top that carried thru to the taste. It was not a fresh tasting salsa. Downside: The manager had a 30 minute, loud conversation with another customer that droned on and on right next to my table.

I passed through Plymouth recently with family and we stopped here for lunch. I must say that this place has the best Mexican food I've ever consumed. Like most Mexican places, they serve chips and Salsa to begin. Theirs is a little different because it is sweet. I highly recommend the Camino Real fajitas. It is two plates: one loaded with steak, chicken, shrimp, chorizo, beef ribs, onions, green peppers, and taco shells. The other plate was packed with refried beans and rice, pico de gallo, sour cream, and guac. The prices are great, too.

You know this type of restaurant. Every town, no matter how small, has this type of "authentic" Mexican restaurant. Free chips and salsa. Mariachi music in the background. Murals of burros and sleeping agave farmers. While I typically enjoy these restaurants, Mi Camino Real leaves a lot to be desired. Based off of numerous dining experiences, I've noticed the following: The chips taste burnt and the salsa is bland. The soda is watered down and their water supply has too much sulfur in it. The service is pretty slow, with no remorse. The restaurant generally feels dirty, menus sticky, bathroom partially in order. On top of all that, it's connected to a very sketchy motel. I typically give restaurants the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the server was having a bad day. Maybe the cook made a few mistakes. Maybe the busboy didn't clean the table well enough. But eventually a pattern surfaces. I would go elsewhere. Hacienda and Yolanda's both offer better food and a better experience.

Great food. I had chicken chimi and my husband had two enchilada combo. Salsa was too mild but I asked if they had a hotter version and they did. Perfect! Peach margarita was awesome. Service reasonable but a bit slow. Overall a great experience.

Awesome food...great service...would go back again. Authentic Mexican food at great prices. It didn't look like much pulling up, but very nice inside. Wife got chicken fajitas, and I got a chicken chorizo dish...both outstanding! Best part, only $10 each, and we got tons of leftovers. We could have easily split a single order of fajitas.

Large, plenty of seating. Friendly service. The food was authentic. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. Good comfort food, price was reasonable.

Alright, there is no way I would've given three stars save for ME polling my two table mates for their ratings. They gave three and four respectively while I hand Mi Camino a deuce. Or dos, if we're selling 'authentic' which Mi Camino is not. Sorry, management. The salsa fer sure was from a can, way too sweet. The chips too, needed someone to vouch for them. No Green Card here. Way too corporate perfect to have come from a fryer in back. Mexican restaurants need to under stand that if they have authentic chips, and homemade salsa and sauces they will move mediocre food up from passable to stratospheric. Just ask Rick Bayless. The menu touted the fact that they use Kraft cheeses on its it's front. Ah, better living through product placement. This should've clued me in right away about the chips and salsa. My entree of steak fajitas with corn tortillas came with flour tortillas. Whoops, my mates ordered corn too, how'd I end up with flour? Guy probably knew I was gonna sack this place on Yelp. The skirt steak was a bit overcooked; dry, with little flavor. My mates had the taco platter and burrito which, you can see the ratings above. There are quite a few Mexican restaurants in Plymouth. I'll try another given the chance. The marguerita, was about 20 oz at $8 - Nize. Slainte, Danno

Wow, I didn't think I'd be writing a negative update on this place. My husband, daughter, and I went there last week. At first everything seemed the same. We were seated, brought the chips and salsa and then ordered. Our favorites are the chimichangas, with the chicken strips kids meal for our daughter (which she dips in their still awesome salsa). That's where the goodness ended. Prices haven't really changed but the food shrunk. The chimichangas which you could eat half and take the other half home are now tiny, smaller then taco bell burritos. My daughter was not served her normal chicken strips (which are nice sized) but she got four (yes four) chicken nuggets instead. For 4.99 I could understand the changes in the adult entrees but it would have been nice to have it noted somewhere that the portions had changed. But four chicken nuggets that you can get at mcdonalds for 1.00 and charging us 4.99? Service was so-so after seating, but nothing to rave about. I don't know what prompted the changes here, we ate there the beginning of last month and everything was as it always was and now this. We might go back again sometime but it's definitely not going to be our go to local mexican place anymore. I see us eating here once or twice a year after this instead of monthly. Pity as they used to be awesome, I would rave about them to just about anyone. Not anymore unfortunately.

This is okay Mexican - somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. It's not exacly your typical Mexican fare, but they have a wide variety. I was a little put off by the interior as the fluorescent bulbs and bright paints gave me a headache (you'll likely think I'm exaggerating, but see for yourself - particularly the electric blue). They serve margaritas, which is nice, and the salsa was decent. The guacamole wasn't impressive. My boyfriend had a grilled fish dish that was fantastic. My quesadilla rellena (which is my standard wherever I go) had high quality meat and veggies in it, but was really, really greasy - so much so that I couldn't eat the bottom of it. The service was prompt and friendly.

We went in there on my friends birthday. The food was OK...Chips are salt less and salsa leaves a lot to be desired. The real kicker was when they brought my friend a shot and a sombrero in celebration of his birthday. Well the sombrero was really nice and my friend was under the impression he was going to get to keep it. He wore it and passed it around for everyone to have fun with. When we were leaving a guy at the door said he needed his sombrero back. I just cringe at the thought of the sombrero being on so many peoples heads. If they didn't want to give out the expensive ones, maybe they should consider getting some cheaper ones that the birthday boys and girls can keep. Just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Mexican restaurants often swing in one of two ways: they're either SO authentic that some customers will swear they hear chickens clucking in the back (not necessarily a bad thing!) or they're trendy, overly glitzy, heavy on flair and basically just an Applebee's with an accent (even if the food's good). Mi Camino Real manages a modern, authentic Latino atmosphere even in a roomy, comfortably semi-lounge set-up where big-screen TVs glow right next to paper-mache parrots. Pricing, especially for lunch, is incredibly reasonable. Most importantly, the food is spot-on. MCR offers a somewhat wider variety than most Mexican restaurants, many of which seem to basically just offer variations on 3 or 4 basics...all dolled up, but essentially the same. Here you get different kinds of dishes made in multiple ways, like the numerous fajita possibilities and flexibilities. For example, the veggie fajita isn't just the basics sans meat -- they provide all kinds of vegetables, and regular customers will note that they experiment depending on seasonal availabilities or perhaps just the attempt for perfection. Another example: the tilapia comes full, head and all, very traditional. Miss breakfast? Try the huevos (eggs) -- never a disappointment for me. Those less adventurous can pick from a variety of standard dishes that always seem to come out just right.

I like it, but it has more of a commercial feel than the other two Mexican restaurants in town. At some point they started serving alcoholic beverages, but I'm not sure if it's beer & wine only or mixed drinks; call and see.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
