I can sum this place up easily... Freaking Awesome! A small town surprise. Very quaint and delicious food. You need to try the enchiladas.

Giving one star is for the beauty of the place. But the food is NOT "high end" like others have commented. Its all frozen and they charge an ungodly amount. One time I ate their mushroom soup and went home with a gut ache. Another time the cook Rhonda said she made this pineapple salsa for on top of the salmon. She didnt make it, it was brown, she fished it out of the toilet! I swear I can cook way better!!

Stopped here on a whim on our way to Chicago from central Ohio. We try to make healthier choices and my wife is gluten free, so it isn't easy. This place was a complete surprise. The owner not only understood, but also uses locally sourced produce and wild caught salmon. He was great to talk with and our lunch was delicious. We would definitely come back if we were in this area.

So glad we read reviews before we went in. We seemed to know where we were going and it worked. Do not enter in the front as that is the event hall. At the other end of the building is the stairs that must be climbed up to the very small dining area/bar. Great atmosphere and a friendly owner but the important thing is that the food is really good. DH had the Mandarin salad which he enjoyed. I had the special berry salad. Both were on fresh mixed greens and topped with a grilled chicken breast. If only chicken were always prepared so well. It was nice and juicy as well as tender - not at all dry. My only mistake was ordering a half salad rather than a whole. Even the full salads are nice, appropriate serving sizes rather than gigantic plates of lettuce with a smattering of toppings. Delicious. We will return next time we are in the area.

Loved this place. The restaurant is small and intimate, but the food was incredible and the staff was attentive. Would recommend to any couple looking for a date night spot.

Above average food for the area, for sure. Clearly a lot of thought went into the menu. Loved the salad/sandwich combo and the homemade soup was great. Nice selection of beers on tap. Great atmosphere in the bar. Friendly staff. We went for dinner and karaoke two weeks in a row while I was in the area on vacation and I have to say it was the most stylish and fun karaoke I've ever been to. Tim May, who runs the karaoke on Thursday nights, sings lots of standards and classic rock tunes and made us feel very welcome to come up and do songs.

Traveled to Pierceton for a wedding reception last week. After a confusing walk-around the whole front of the building in the freezing cold, we finally found the correct door for the meeting room. It was the normal door for the bar/restaurant, and then past a table and through another door that had a sign on it that said "Please keep closed." Whatever. We were following another couple who thought they knew what they were doing. The reception was in a large room on the East side of the building. Since this place was built in the mid 1800's, I am guessing their are a lot of 'energy leaks' because it was pretty cold in there. While we enjoyed visiting with old friends, and making some new, by the end of the evening noses, toes-es, and fing-oes were all freezing! Food was OK, but it was buffet style so I won't knock them so much on that. It was all edible. I really liked the cucumbers with a sliver of smoked salmon on top of them! The bar area upstairs was a lot warmer than the reception area. They had several craft beers on tap (they had a Boulevard from Kansas city...one of my favorite breweries), and the bartender said they had 15 different kinds of bourbon. I was told later that he was also the owner. His name was Joe and he was very friendly. What else would you expect from a man named that? We had an enjoyable time, and look forward to visiting for a dinner some night...then I will report on the food in more detail.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere and the very friendly staff. The food has been very good and the Bourbon selection simply can't be matched in this area. A great reason to head to Pierceton!

My husband and I were spending the day antiquing in Pierceton and we asked one of the shop owners for a recommendation to eat lunch. She directed us here. I am so glad she did. Great atmosphere. The bar/restaurant is tucked into the upper level of an old train depot. It is a cozy atmosphere, with only a few tables on different levels. The chairs are very comfortable, and there are several microbrews available for customers to choose from, as well as a good selection of bourbons if you are into that. The owner is very friendly and we enjoyed talking to him at some length. The food is very good. It was cooked fresh as we ordered it, not the type of food the is prepared ahead and warmed over. The burger I had was HUGE, and stuck out at least a half inch all around the bun. The bacon on my husband's sandwich was freshly cooked, crisp and perfect. I could smell the bacon being fried up right after we ordered. There is a good selection of menu items for such a small place, and a wonderful variety of bread/ bun types very thoughtfully selected for each sandwich. There are also several salads to choose from and some pasta and vegetarian options as well. Oh, and the service was extremely fast as well. I highly recommend this place if you are visiting Pierceton. All in all, it was a wonderful experience, and a delicious meal.

We LOVE the bar/restaurant upstairs. Great atmosphere, architecture, ambiance, and drinks. The service is outstanding, the bartender and owner are both great guys whom we always enjoy talking with. They are both very knowledgeable about the liquor and beer, and make great recommendations.. All kinds of fabulous beers, from el-cheapo domestics to amazing craft beers, lagers, stouts... everything! We are thrilled and delighted to have a place like this in Pierceton!!
