Very friendly service each time I've been there. Some of the fast food in Indy could learn a thing or two about being more friendly. The food seems fresh and tasty. Quick to your car with a thank you.

Boondocks

My husband and I love going to Boondocks! Just last week we called ahead to see if we could bring our dog Cash if we sat outside in their beer garden and Shawna ( the owner ) said ABSOLUTELY! Shawna and Steve are always so nice and seem genuinely happy to see us. Their bartenders have always been top notch and I cannot get enough of their loaded "potachoes" nachos made with potatoes instead of chips, pulled pork, corn salsa and a wonderful sauce! We are so glad to have a place like boondocks in our town.... They are an absolute asset! They are so unique from their Cajun menu items to their French Quarter decor and "where everybody knows your name" style of service! I highly recommend a visit!
I read the other review and it did fit our situation. We were stopping off on the way to the Association fot Gravestone Studies Conference in Franklin, IN as I wanted to get a picture of Cole Porter's Grave on the way. The local Chapters never seem to meet there. I expected open on a weekday afternoon and decent. It was maybe the best burger I have had in a while. I did the Verde Burger and it has a homemade Chili Verde sauce and fried green tomatoes. Seriously, when was the last time you ate a burger that did not need a slather of ketchup? The fries are really good and garlicy, like rolled in garlic and oil... they also did not need ketchup! Isn't that a good sign, order a burger and fries and you do not need an extra condiment. Leaving we noticed that they probably do bbq. I bet it's great! We also said to one another, this is probably the best place in town. They have a bar, good food and live music. If I were closer I would probably spend a lot of time here!
Fantastic food! In our group of 9 no one ordered the same item. Everyone raved about what they ate. Large menu for every want. From jambalaya to steak. Service was great. Our server (Deb) was attentive but not pesky, very quick service from drinks to entrees. Extremely fair prices. Only drawback is the interior, very dark with dark walls and decor. With the New Orleans decorations not sure how to fix. Great experience, will be back!

Delicious pizza and breadsticks and awesome salad bar. Also many other Italian inspired options to choose from. Lovely service, a local favorite. Can't come to Peru without stopping in.
Usually great place with good service. Bad night for the staff 15 minute wait for service with no one in restaurant. 1.25 hour experience for a sub. Staff walked the other way as I was going to register to pay had to wait even longer.
Great for lunch. Small crushed ice. Pizza. What could be better. This place has been around forever so that should say something about the quality.

Mr Weenie

600 N Broadway
Peru, 46970
Reviews:
OK, the place is wonderful. Slightly run down, but not much -- more like the veneer of character. I was warned by the carhop (yeah -- curb service!) that the namesake hot dogs were nothing special. Neither was the breaded pork tenderloin, but the fries are truly addictive, and really -- who can complain about a pork tenderloin sandwich, fries, cole slaw and drink for under $6? Places like this should have shrines erected.
I had high hopes for an old style drive-in Mr. Weenie. And thankfully, you can get a slaw dog...yummo. Overall, I'd rate a 3.5 star. In the words of the sweetie - the weenies are too teenie. She loved the coney sauce though and we both really liked our onion rings - breaded on site I believe. Served crisp and piping hot. Advice - whatever you order, unless you've got a carload of ankle biters - order with the big dog or brat. (an extra $1.25 but well worth the price as the normal weenie is about a 1 ounce weenie - 16 to a pound - about as big around as my wifey's pinky finger) Funny: take an extra $13-15 and get yourself a "It's Mr. Weenie Time" pair of boxers or a t-shirt. We snickered at that the whole time we were there.
We ate here after a bike ride from Peru south to Cassville. Hot dog with sauerkraut, hot dog was not hot, sauerkraut was a dark brown and slimy, worst I have ever eaten. Onion rings were very good, mushrooms were not hot either. Iced teas that were supposed to be flavored were bland. I would not visit again.

My family absolutely loves the food and drinks here! We've been coming to Los Tres for years and have never received a bad meal. The restaurant is always clean and the waiters are always friendly. They serve the best Margaritas I've ever had! If you like spicy, I highly recommend the Camarones a la Diablo.
Two locations of this restaurant in Peru - both equal in service and food. Was disappointed in selection. Definitely Americanized but popular with locals. Service is okay - things often forgotten, large party meals often have diners waiting for their entree while others are finishing theirs.
My husband and I frequent the Los Tres Caminos on North Broadway which is the original location. We have developed friendships with many of the staff members over the years. They are all very nice and attentive and remember what we like to drink and eat! (Dos Equis draft) and I love to Taquitos Guadalajara! The service is super fast so I recommend not ordering your food right away if you just want to relax and enjoy your company for awhile. My only actual complaint is the margaritas. I know lots of people that love them but I think they are horrible. ( I'm a bartender so I'm kinda snobby though!) They are just tequila and some chemical compound better known as sweet n sour mix. Yuck. Overall...it's a great place to eat and hangout!

Visited this interesting establishment on my way through Peru on business. The decor reminds me of my grandma's old house. If it had couches here, I'm sure they'd have plastic coverings. They definitely need to de-clutter the place and update the decor. At least do away with the creepy clown art. The train cars were a little interesting but kind of weird. The manakin with the wig was an awkward touch. Overall the food was good. My friend and I enjoyed the buffet, especially the fried chicken. However, the cake was dry and tasted as though it came from a box. The wait staff was very friendly and did well to make sure that we were taken care of.
I'd have to agree with most all of what Nicole W. said about this place. This place is amazingly charming. We came here with my parents, who are vegan, and the owner talked to my mom ahead of time and figured out what things they had available that would work with their diet, and also offered to modify things on the menu for them. He also let her know what vegetarian options they had available for my husband and me. I'm not sure what I was expecting from The Siding, but the interior was lovely, clean, and nicely decorated. It was an upscale atmosphere while remaining very comfortable. We had average food here (though all meals come with salad bar and bread, which was very nice) - my parents had a veggie stir fry they really enjoyed, I had a vegetable lasagna, and my husband had a vegetable fettuccini alfredo, but the service was what really set it apart. Our waitress was really sweet, and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was wonderful. Oh, they also had really good brewed iced tea - I might have been biased because it was around 1,000 degrees outside, but I drank down about three glasses of tea and wasn't sad about it.
A charming, off-beat place with a to-die-for $20 8-oz filet mignon. I first brought just my dad here, as he's a fan of railroad nostalgia. He enjoyed his filet, I thought the prime rib buffet was a little under heated. Still, he insisted we visit again with my mother and we did all love our filet. The salad bar and soup was also nice.

I don't know what has happened to this once great place to eat. We just returned from there and will not be going back. At least until we here it is better. The rolls were hard and very dense, also a grayish color inside. The pulled pork was super dry, and no seasoning. The hamburger steak had absolutely no seasoning. The fried chicken used to be the thing to go for, it was dry and lukewarm tonight. My coffee was very old. Surprised at the lack of good service. The staff seemed to be standing around talking, not smiling or friendly. Just has changed so much. Sure hope they can regroup and get back on track.
Truly Amish cooking. Start with the excellent salad bar with fresh ingredients plus home made puddings and desserts. The hot buffet has a good selection of meats and vegetables, mashed potatoes are to die for! Fresh hot bread and desserts, too.
If you like homemade - homestyle food, then this is the place to eat. Amish cooking at its best. Large restaurant with huge buffet and menu service. Everything is cooked to order and made fresh. Staff are friendly, upbeat and food can't be beat! Always busy for a reason - very popular with locals. Look for the Amish horse and buggy across from Grissom AFB entrance on US31.
