When Tucano's reached out to me about correcting the poor experience I had the first time I dined there, I was not so sure I would even want to give them a chance. Our last experience was not great and we didn't love the food. They sent us free meals and told us we should ask for the manager next time we went in. Tonight was the night we decided to go back- simply because it was free. They were very accommodating and had a table for us at 7:30 on a Friday evening- a mere 45 min after I called in. We were greeted by what seemed like a whole new staff! The waiter (Brandon) was a gem, the meat servers were quick, fair, and polite, and the manager, Cam, was a definite people person. He was charming and attentive. The food was better than last time, even. But still we didn't LOVE the offerings. It's merely a preference of taste at this point that would keep us from coming back. But we were definitely pleased this go around. Thanks to everyone who showed the best side of Tucano's tonight. The difference was worlds better than our first trip.

This is my second visit to Tuscano's and while the service was great (Shannon was wonderful!) there were 'other' things that made my experience less than memorable. We had reservations for 7 and we arrived at 7:05. There were three other groups waiting to be seated (I thought they were walk-ins). When I have a reservation at a restaurant, I am used to being seated right away or within a few minutes. We sat in the waiting area for at least 10. It turned out that the other groups also had reservations and were told to wait. The hostess stated that they only had one person to bus tables so that was the reason for the wait. Meanwhile, my husband noticed there was an entire section of clean and empty tables. Either they were short-staffed or they thought there would be no way they'd be busy on a Monday and did not staff properly (which is crazy considering they are closed on Sunday). The salad bar was stocked but while I was there, no one was coming out to make sure the food looked fresh. Some of the hot food looked like it had been there a while. All-in-all, Tuscano's just OK. Nothing special. I haven't decided if I'll return. There are so many other (re: better) choices in Carmel, Fishers and Westfield that I doubt I'll be back to Tuscano's for a while.

First time reviewing and my first trip to Tucanos. The salad bar was good, the roast on the meats was perfect, service was fantastic. My gripe for the evening is they do not grill over coals & the result was everything that was roasted/grilled tasted like gas. Probably wont be back...

Fogo de Chão meets Golden Corral...... This was my birthday experience. It started out well with the salad and hot food bar which was well stocked and fresh....this, along with a very nice and friendly drink server, is the only reason that I give it a two star instead of one. After finishing the salad bar, we started in on the meat service. First was the chicken, overcooked and dry. Second was the top sirloin, blood literally running down the serving skewer. Third was some sort of bacon wrapped chicken, again, severely over cooked and dry. Fourth was sausage! I love sausage and after all it was my birthday, so I asked for a second piece. I was the first at our table of 11 to be served and the server very rudely explained that I could have a second piece after everyone else at the table had been served. He then asked my wife if she would like a piece...she declined, but then I talked her into taking a piece. The meat server, treating us like little children, explained very rudely (as I think is his nature at this point) that the piece of sausage had better be for her and not me. For the rest of the evening, that particular meat server started at the other end of the table and was very cold and distant. Meanwhile, the entire time my daughter had noticed that the servers were touching plates as they served the meat to each guest. This completely turned her off for sanitary reasons and she didn't try a single piece of meat. Like I said before, it was my birthday, so we were there to celebrate. The service staff came out to sing at my table in Portuguese, I language I don't understand by the way. They sang so loudly that all conversations stopped in the restaurant every time the birthday song was sung. There were six birthdays including mine that evening. Positives from this were the drink server (who was so nice), the salad/hot bar, the sausage and the grilled pineapple. Negatives are the meat preparation and meat service along with the disruptive noise of the birthday celebrations...not things you expect from a $35 per plate restaurant (I'm including drinks and tips). Needless to say, I won't be returning.

Tucked away in the Noblesville outdoor mall, Tuscano is a cheaper less stuffier version of its classier cousin Fogo de Chao...the concept is the same, but the price and selection is just a little downgraded. First the salad bar. Traditional salad choices with spinach or regular lettuce mix and toppings. Then there was about four different cold pasta salad to choose from. Finally, beans and rice, crusted fried plantains and a Brazilian chicken gumbo and a horrible thin brothy lobster bisque. The meat selection was miniature..several types of beef with teriyaki beef being the winner, then pork which was very well cooked, tender and flavorful, bacon wrapped turkey and chicken thighs were the only poultry. Major missing item :Seafood which is extra...and no lamb. The service was EXCELLENT. The men there was just so attentive to the family even though they did fail to sing happy birthday to the husband.... Overall I give it a 7 outta 10. Its definitely worth a trip back...with friends.

Well it's finally time to update my review. This should really be 4.5, almost a 5. What an improvement from when we went last time!!!! It was the first warm sunny day Indy had seen in a while so everyone was obviously getting out to everywhere. That included us as we also shopped our way North. We opted to go to "try again". So glad that we did. This time we were seated in main dining room, actually very near the salad area. The assortment of meats brought out was fantastic! The differences this time were that we had a table waiter who attended to our drinks and wanted to ensure that we were being taken care of. The meat servers assigned to our area also checked to see how we normally preferred our meats cooked. When we arrived there was about a 15 minute wait we were told, and that ended up being maybe 5 minutes at the most. They do accept reservations and I encourage this because I think we were just lucky! We were seated, greeted, and sent on our way to 3 tier salad bar. One side has sushi and mixed salads, another side has warm sides (like lobster bisque, pastas, and cheese mashed potatoes), and the final side is a build your own salad with a variety of ingredients - some common and some very uncommon. The only slightly disappointing spot on a perfect visit was our first meat server. He was perhaps new, at the end of a shift, or overwhelmed as the only one on our portion. We didn't see him very often and were slightly concerned it would be a similar visit. This changed shortly and suddenly there were three coming by, trust me if your marker is green you almost cannot keep up! Although they were busy, we met the manager as he walked personally to every table to check on things. He had was very personable and had a good command of his location. I can guarantee we will be back the next time we travel North!

Let me start by saying that I have never been to Fogo De Chao. I will make it there just haven't yet because of the location (I hate parking garages downtown) With that being said I really enjoyed Tucanos! For the price I thought it was a great choice. We walked in on a Saturday around 5:30 and were immediately seated. They do take reservations but if you call the hostess isn't allowed to give time quotes (I thought that was a little odd maybe even a tad aggravating) However, when we got there we were seated right away. Out server was super nice and explained how things work so we got right to chowing down. The salad bar is a 3 bar area with the normal salad bar, fruit bar, and hot bar with things like mashed potatoes and mac n cheese, and rolls. There was also a crab and mango sushie roll in there somewhere. Now to the MEAT! I'm not sure if I will be able to remember all of the meat but as I recall there was: bacon wrapped filet, garlic parmesan filet, salmon, tilapia, bacon wraped ham, smoked ham, brisket, sirloin, chicken heart, parmesan vegetable, and GRILLED PINEAPPLE! (maybe a couple others that I'm forgetting) The meat was so flavorful and juicy and the grilled pineapple was delectable. The portions are a little small but YOU CAN ASK FOR MORE. There was a huge graduation party right next to our table that kinda hogged all the servers from time to time but that wasn't the restaurants fault. They didn't even have a reservation. (I overheard the manager talking to the head of the party) All in all I had a great experience. My only suggestion/wish is that they would have had a little more...Brazilian touches/food on the salad bar. We will go back again and again I'm sure.

For $23, we are talking at least two different cuts of beef, grilled sweet pineapple, chicken hearts, bacon wrapped turkey breast, sweet N spicy chicken, and plenty more just from the servers. The salad bar has fresh leafy greens, some type of small eggs, beets, cranberries, sunflower seeds, olives, pickles, mandarin oranges, onions, much more and a variety of dressings. Turn the corner and you'll find many salads. Pasta, broccoli, bean... Round that curve and there is bread, fried bananas, mashed potatoes (which I like with my steak!), rice, beans, vegetables and probably an array of other choices. If you don't like something (like how well done your meat is), I suggest you politely tell your server --- not hop on social media to complain to the internet. Yes, small plates will be given to you for the servers to put their items on. Duh, after they put it on the small plate, move it wherever you want it because it's a salad buffet so get however many plates you want. Now, the $23 includes the salad and the meats... But you can choose just one of them if you want.

Can I tell you about the Tucano's Pineapple?! I mean seriously! Between the pineapple and grilled Parmesan veggies's Tucano's won me over. I didn't believe a fellow Yelper when she stated that this place is better than Fogo? Was she mad? No, she was spot on! My initial visit to Fogo several years ago honestly left me underwhelmed and didn't live up to the hype. I just remember a boring salad/side bar and endless meat, but nothing that stood out. For the price, it just wasn't worth it. This was definitely not the case for Tucano's. So many varieties of meat and veggies. The salad bar wasn't anything spectacular, but it did the trick. It was so fun just trying out the glazed wings, parmesan crusted filet, bacon wrapped filet, fish, and more. Oh yes! A plate full of deliciousness. Not to mention, this place is fairly budget friendly especially for lunch. Although the staff was friendly at times they were super slow or wouldn't make it to our table, so it was a complete bummer to see those sweet delicious pineapples run out before reaching our table. Sigh... This place is definitely worth a visit. I can't wait to go back for lunch one day soon.

This place will inevitably be compared to Fogo, but given the price difference there are going to be differences in the experience. Will your meat be brought to you from an authentic Brazilian person with intimate knowledge of the meat (heh) they are bringing to your table? Probably not. There's actually a chance your meat server will be a stoned guy named Chad who will refer to you as "bro" at least once and hand you his band's newest demo (they're finally about to make it!), but I personally don't care as long as the meat policy is to eat as much as you can. There is also a slight difference in the salad bar. There are plenty of offerings on both, and obviously Fogo's will be more impressive and higher quality, but the salad bar at Tucanos is nothing to seeze at. Seriously, don't sneeze at it, I'm tryin' to eat that stuff, man! They have plenty of damn good offerings that will tempt you to make another trip for seconds or thirds. Given the price, this place is well worth it. Plus if you need some drugs, wink at Chad. He'll know...

The buffet food that people mention is very good. You feel like it lacks options. The rolls on the Buffett are horrible. The meat is good but sometimes it takes forever to see certain ones. They should leave a list at the table so you can ask for certain ones that you don't always see. The service can be slow. Last night I think they were understaffed. Plus one meat cutter you could tell just wasn't into it. Like another person mentioned they can have favorites and you do notice certain tables they go to more. The price is the best part and why I go. Love steak. $23 for all you can eat makes it affordable over its competition.

The three star rating is right in the money. The staff could not have been nicer and the manager very quickly came over and changed a drink someone didn't like. Grace did a great job with our table full of kids. Nothing but good to say about the staff! The food was ok but nothing special. The lobster bisque was quite good and I had a few cups. The meats were ok but not high quality. This is a good spot if your into quantity over quality. A couple beers, a drink and two adult dinners, $70. Not bad. Wouldn't want to come back but it wasn't bad either.

This restaurant was a HUGE disappointment! The portions were small and didn't offer a choice between rare, medium and well done. I suppose for the price it wasn't bad, but it's certainly no Fogo De Chou! I will not be going back!!! UPDATE, manager quickly replied to my poor comments and offered to send me a gift card so we'd be willing to come back again. Although this way not my intent on giving an honest review, I agreed. Three + months later and no gift card.

I returned! This time they were serving a few different items. Mostly, I loved the beef brisket because of the amazing flavor! It was a treat to get the deep fried turkey in line with the holiday! Again, the steak, whitefish, pineapples, chicken hearts, and the chicken were delicious. I did not enjoy the vegetables as much as before. As for the salad bar, I made and ate a salad and some fruit. I tried their lemonades which looked alike. The passion fruit and pineapple were great tasting. The mango lemonade was not for me. There are other flavors. The lemonade order comes with free refills. For some reason, the taste of the food seems to come up even two days later. For this reason, I have to beware of how much I go visit.

Let's get it out of the way. This place is not as good as Fogo de Chao. But it's less than half the price of Fogo de Chao. So saying a $25K car is not as good as, say, a $55K car is quite useless. The more useful question is: How good is that $25K car compared to other $25K cars? The dinner is $23 for all you can eat beef, chicken, fish, salad, etc. What can you get like that for $23? Not much. The beef is pretty good quality. No, it's not prime grade or aged like Eddie Merlot, but, again, it's $23. Compared to the alternatives, this is a very good value. Try it out.

The service was great!! Every one was super nice and I liked that most about this place. The atmosphere is a bit kitchy. It's like they went to Home Goods and bought every plastic vase they could find. The little plates for the meat were just stupid. I get that they only give you small portions of meat each time but that was ridiculous. There I was cutting meat like an idiot on a salad plate. That was hard! The food is nothing to write home about and this is what really got me. I won't go back to this place because the food just isn't that good. If I'm paying $23 for just myself to eat, it had better be excellent, and it was a far cry from that! I would rather spend $50 per person at Fogo de Chao for a real Brazilian churrascaria. The meat was undercooked to say the least. A server asked us how we wanted our meat cooked pretty much right when we got in there but the server chick kind of gave him a dirty look at took over. It was kinda weird. Bonnie S. From Tucanos, you can write all you want about how you are going to do things better next time but once someone has had a bad experience with a restaurant, they normally don't go back, just sayin.

I went with a group of friends for a birthday celebration, and it was so much fun. Half spectacle, half extravaganza, it was certainly an experience that I'd love to try again! There's a salad bar buffet with Brazilian sides...it includes some uncommon Brazilian specialties for the adventurous as well as some familiar favorites. The meat servers are mostly attentive and bring food as quickly as you can eat it! Despite the large group, everyone was fed well and got to try most of the options. The meat was delicious, and the staff sang a rousing version of happy birthday to several patrons over the course of the night. My only complaint (besides the admittedly high price per plate) was that the atmosphere, while festive, was so loud that it was difficult to hear other members of our party. As fun as it is to share an experience, it's not ideal to shout :(

My wife and I were excited when we heard this place was opening and when we went there for the first time it didn't disappoint. Every time we go the meats are very good. Grilled meat how you want it with a fully loaded salad bar you can't go wrong. Save room for dessert because those are delicious too!!

This is my 2nd time here! I appreciate what Tuscanos has to offer. It's a Fogo De Choa that's great on the wallet. I RECOMMEND the grilled pineapples & garlic beef oh and the grilled vegetables. Their drinks are very good to.

Nice place, great salad bar. However the roasted meats leave a lot to be desired. Tough cuts, chewy not that great. The place is a lot cheaper then the other guys in this category, now you know why.

I lived in Brazil for a time and, in a lot of ways, eating at Tucanos takes me back. They have a great selection of skewered meats featuring the likes of picanha, bacon-wrapped filet, garlic beef tenderloin, sausages, and even chicken hearts. They also come by with grilled pineapple and some special seasonal dishes. The servers were more than happy to accommodate any requests to get a certain dish again the last time we were there. The salad bar, or Salad Festival as they call it, is also quite impressive. They have a wide selection of salad greens, pasta salads, breads, cheeses, soups, and even sushi. Most of the items I've tried are good, but some seem a little generic. Not a big deal to me, though, as I'm mostly in it for the meat. Who needs salad anyway? Another of the highlights are their fruity lemonades. Holy crap they're good. I drank fresh fruit juice from a little restaurant down the street all the time when I lived in Brazil and these are about as close as I've come to tasting that again. These things are great and well worth spending a few extra dollars. (Pineapple is my personal favorite, but to each his own.) I've never had bad service at Tucanos. The meat servers were helpful and the main waiters have usually been good about drinks and clearing plates. Perhaps the waiters could be a little more attentive, but not by much. Let's also address the fact that we have a Fogo de Chao in Indianapolis. So how does Tucanos stack up against Fogo? Pretty well, I'd say. When compared to Fogo we find they're lacking the upscale atmosphere, a bit in meat selection, and a little authenticity. For instance, most of the meat servers at Fogo are actually Brazilian; something Tucanos doesn't do. But, while Tucanos may not offer everything Fogo does, they do come in at about half the price. So if you're looking for a fancy night on the town, a chance to truly engage in another culture, and a nice bottle of wine then head to Fogo de Chao. But if you're just looking for a delicious meal, some tasty fruit drinks, and all at a reasonable price then Tucanos is for you.

If you've ever been to Fogo de Chao, you will be beyond disappointed with this place. The portions are small, the sides are at the bar, and we got the damn pineapple three times. How about some beef? Apparently they've run out of a bunch of it. Oh, and my turkey wrapped in bacon was undercooked (t was pink on the inside). The servers were young and very inexperienced, and under-trained. They were not able to tell us the cuts of meat available, and one of the servers asked us what pinot noir is. He didn't know it was wine. With that being said, they were very polite and the food was actually tasty (for what little bits of it we managed to get).

It was just ok. Nothing special. Fogo may be more expensive but the quality is better. You get what you pay for!

Let me start off by saying if I could I would give them 2 1/2 stars. And also let me go ahead and say this if you've been to Fogo you are ruined and you will never want to go to this place. I kept comparing the two and they were basically night and day. I was disappointed in the service and the portions of food they kept trying to give me. They kept trying to give me a little tiny boy size pieces of meat, okay I'm 6'3 well over 200 pounds, don't give me a little tiny piece of meat. It was almost insulting because I had to keep asking for more food versus when you go to the other competitor they were not being so stingy. I cannot believe the way they were acting and treating me, the only reason why we went back was because we had a coupon for buy one get one free. Unless they send out that again I will never return. And let me state too I'm not portly, I'm an athlete. Not that it should matter. The service was really slow, the food is very slow to come around. Not until I said something to the manager did I get what I was actually wanting to eat. Very disappointing.

My husband and I went to Tucanos to celebrate my birthday. We were there on a Monday evening and we had made reservations, although it wasn't busy so I don't think they are needed. We are fans of Fogo de Chao, so we wanted to try this less-expensive alternative. It was good. But it's not Fogo, which isn't a criticism. It's like comparing Outback Steakhouse to St. Elmo's. Both have good food, both have their place in the market, but although they both serve steak, they are very different restaurants. The salad bar at Tucano's was great - fresh and a large variety of options. The service was also good. Everyone was polite and attentive. The meat was good as well. I also had a Piranha drink that was huge (a decent value for the $8 price). Overall, I would go back if I'm in the area. It's a bit of a drive for us, so we might not make a special trip, but it's definitely a great choice if you are nearby.

Oh how I wanted to love this place.... I have wanted to try Tucanos since they opened and finally made it. But now I wish we would have skipped it. We went for lunch. My mom just wanted the salad bar cause she is not a big red meat eater. I went for it all. Lunch was $15.95 and I think just the salad bar was $11.95. The salad bar was ok. It is broke down into 3 parts. The normal salad bar with lots of extras. This was the best part. There was every thing from beets to quail eggs. The next section was premade salad. And the was even a mango crab sushi roll. And the last section was a hot bar. There is pasta (that was so dry you could not bit into it) with a couple of sauces, cooked veggies & mashed potatoes. When you are ready for meat you turn your marker to the green side. (Green go & Red stop) I was asked how i like my steak cooked. I am a medium rare kinda gal. He said ok. The first skewers were chicken hearts & bacon wrapped turkey. Well I will try anything once. It was so dry and hard I could not eat it. Next was pineapple with brown sugar sauce. It was good, it was warm pineapple. Next was a sirlion. It came out WELL done. Not the way I like it. But it did have a good seasoning on it. More beef opions came out and they were all over done & dry! They also came around with beef & pork bbq. The pork was good but the beef was tuff. I dont understand why he asked how I like my beef cooked if dry & overcooked was the only way it comes out. One positive is everyone was super nice and very friendly. But the food didnt meet the price!!

This was my second trip to Tucanos. The first didn't resonate with me but this visit certainly made up for it. While out shopping I opted for something different for my wife's birthday. We had a wonderful group of servers. We arrived right after a lunch stampede and prior to the dinner rush, but don't be fooled they were still busy. Our marker was green and they just kept coming, it was almost impossible to keep up. The management staff also came around to check on us, and our formal server never let a glass go empty. My only recommendation would be to maybe add a little more variety to the meets being served, although they were coming fast and the options delicious, they were somewhat repetitive. If you happen to be in Noblesville, definitely make this a stop on your trip.

I'm all about the entire experience when I dine out. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The venue is beautifully decorated. I thought the salad bar set-up was perfect. Loooooved the garlic beef, grilled pineapple, and grilled veggies. I'd mos def go back. CONS: DISTANCE The floor at our table hadnt been swept. The hot items on the salad bar needed to be freshened up. It's as if they set it out and forgot about it. The buffalo wing appetizer (which was free) wasn't seasoned. It was as if they took frozen wings, fried them, and tossed them (my personal preference is to have my meat seasoned). Upon being seated, I was asked how I liked my meat prepared (medium-well). I was only served well-done and medium :-( if you can't commit to preferences DON'T ASK The hallway leading to the restroom smelled of urine.

The good, the bad and the ugly... The good: the meat was really really tastey, cooked to perfection (better than some fogos I've been) the salad bar had a decent selection, an you even get fried pineapple, yummy! The bad: the service, they are unprepared, don't take away your dirty plates, really unprofessional. The ugly: they ran out of 3 of there already small selection of meats, I only took notice when I specifically asked for those meats, only then they told me that they ran out of it; and we are talking about the meats that made me wanna check this place out in the first place, like the fillet minion, and the beef tender, I'm out of words... Can't articulate how disappointed I was.... Ps. I would of looked away on there service, and rated them 5 star, if they would of had there full selection of meat.. What a missed opportunity to make it my favorite rodizio place..

When we were invited to join friends for dinner at Tucanos, I was excited. I had no idea there was another Brazilian steakhouse aside from Fogo de Chao, so I was anxious to see how it compared. The variety and flavor of meats were comparable (though, Filet Mignon is not on Tucanos menu) and both salad/side bars are plentiful. The atmosphere at Tucanos is much more casual (i.e. Loud), but the price definitely reflects that. The service was exceptional. We were there celebrating a birthday, so the servers stopped by to sing before we left...very full, I might add. My first visit won't be my last.

Tucanos offers the same dining concept at Fogo de Chao and other Brazillian steakhouses--for one flat price, you get unlimited trips to their salad bar and unlimited servings of meat, which is brought to your table by roving servers with giant skewers. We ate for about $25 per person, and it was a nice dinner. Not as nice as Fogo, but, you know, it's half the price. I did notice that many people were dining with small children, which is a good indication of how much more affordable (and casual) Tucanos is. I also noticed a couple of large groups, which seems like a good idea for feeding a crowd. The restaurant seemed very accommodating with tables and seating. You could easily make a meal out of the salad bar alone, which contains not just salad fixings but hot sides, cheeses, breads, and deli salads. I would highly recommend ordering one of the specialty lemonades, also. I got the mango flavor, which was delicious, and it comes with free refills! I'm five months pregnant, so it was nice to find a specialty drink without alcohol that wasn't a milkshake. My husband tried all of the meat selections, and he was happy with all of them, although he was pretty stuffed by the time the last couple of offerings came around. He said the barbeque chicken wings and the Brazillian sausages were particularly good. We'll be back. We both thought this would make a nice place to take family members or guests who are visiting from out of town, since it's pretty much impossible for anyone NOT to find something they like on the salad bar or in the meat rotation. Also, the location, in Hamilton Town Center, makes this a convenient spot to meet people who are coming into town from 69.

Just went there for dinner with my boyfriend and had a good experience. Our server, Sarah, was very sweet and attentive and so seemed the rest of the staff. I really enjoy the atmosphere and I love that they provide you with both the English and Portguese translations of each meat. However, the salad bar is very average with the exception of a few items. Additionally, some of the meats seem to be lacking in flavor. Speaking of flavor, this is the third time I have been there and each time I went the salt shaker did not work. I tried grabbing one from other tables but they didn't work either. In conclusion, Tucano's has excellent customer service and atmosphere, but should spend more time focusing on the flavor of their food.

We took our kids on a Friday and the service was great. The food was hot and fresh. I normally do not take my kids out to places like this but they did great. One thing of note is that they have appetizers and while that is great it is a distraction from the meat. I can never get enough of the Grilled Pineapple.

We went to Tucano's Brazillian Steakhouse for my husband's birthday and I have to admit I was disappointed. It was much cheaper than its counterpart Fogo De Chao but I'm afraid that it's meat quality suffers for the price difference. It was loud enough that we couldn't have a conversation but that could be partially attributed to the Mothers Day Special they had going on; the rest was just poor acoustics. They salad bar was okay but nothing to write home about. The best part of the meal was the dessert we purchased separately. All in all it was still too expensive for the quality of food and I doubt we'd go back.

Horrible, horrible, horrible. Where do I even start? The best part of the whole place was probably the ranch dressing for the salad. The meat was disgusting! I don't know how a Brazilian steakhouse can mess up a filet but they managed. I will say they were very nice to offer a special made filet that was not wrapped in bacon, but when we finally received it, my fiances med rare steak was well done and my medium steak was practically mooing. Still decided to give it a taste and it had the same weird plasticy flavor all of their steaks had. The ONLY good meat I had was the Parmesan chicken. I think the reason they have such a giant salad bar is to distract from the nasty meat they serve. Also, our table was bumped into twice by servers which almost toppled our table both times. And we witnessed one of the servers RUNNING with a giant skewer and knife in his hand in the middle of customers and other servers. Nice and safe. Such a disappointing way to celebrate my 30th birthday and engagement. We will not be back. Here's hoping we don't get food poisoning like another reviewer posted! Update: my fiance emailed the company directly and less than an hour later he received a phone call from the general manager at the restaurant who apologized profusely and promised us a better time next time. He was embarassed. I can always appreciate it when someone owns mistakes. We will try them again, but we need to wait awhile

Ok normally I'm not that adventurous when it comes to dining out. I'm a creature of habit so when we went here for my father's birthday I was nervous and not sure what to expect. Immediately we were given how things would work. You move the item they give you to green and they bring around meat. If you want it when it's brought around you tell them. Or you can pass on it, I had what to me resembled smoked sausage and it was delicious, I also had rice. Basically if you want burgers and fries you've come to the wrong place. But if you want to try something new and different than absolutely try it.

Tucanos fits in the space between your more established, swankier Brazilian steakhouses/churrascarias and your typical lower-end American chain steakhouse. With the popularity of churrascarias on the rise, it's inevitable that you're going to compare them so here it goes. Tucanos is definitely a case of "you get what you pay for". Dinner is just $23 (as compared to over $40 at other churrascarias). It's not on the level of your higher end steakhouses (you wouldn't want to wine and dine a client here), but it's a step above your run-of-the-mill chain steakhouse. The service is definitely not up to par and that could be due to a few reasons. First, unlike most other churrascarias, the servers aren't trained gauchos from South America. They are just locals like at most restaurants. They haven't spent years training to work at a churrascaria. They don't cook the meat themselves. There's a grill cook who handles that task. And therein lies one of the problems here. The night we visited, the grill cook was definitely NOT on his game. We prefer our cuts to be medium-rare to medium and the servers knew that. We sat near the grill so we could hear them barking at the grill cook, "This is NOT medium!", "This is dry!", etc. In other churrascarias, a gaucho is responsible for his meats and you're guaranteed that he's going to get the temperature right for his tables. A single grill cook has too many things going so he's going to tend to overfire when he falls behind. Another reason the service was not quite up-to-par is that this location is fairly new (only open about a month). For instance, when a server brought meat to our table, instead of coming around to both of us, they made me reach over the table with my tongs to grab my cut. They should walk around the table to each diner instead. Some of the servers were in training (they were wearing different color jackets than the other servers) and the people training them had only been on the job for at most a month themselves. Perhaps in a few months they will be a little more polished. Here's one little detail that may just bother me. In other churrascarias, each diner gets a little card (green on one side, red on the other), to let the gauchos know that they are ready for some meat to be brought to them. At Tucanos, there is just a single stick (green on one end, red on the other) that you stand on end to signal the servers. The problem with this setup is that there is only one stick for your whole table so most of the night we left it on "green" as at least one of us needed a refill. We were rarely ready at the same time so one of us was constantly having their meal interrupted by a server. Each time a server came to our table, he/she had to ask both of us if we would like some meat. The individual red/green cards for each diner at other restaurants works better and is less intrusive. Temperatures aside, the meats themselves aren't as flavorful or tender as at other churrascarias either. I think they use a lower grade of meat (Select instead of Choice). There aren't as many choices either (although part of that is probably due to the fact that we came on a Monday night). There was no skirt steak or flank steak. The only filet available was bacon-wrapped. However, the picanha (my favorite churrascaria cut - sirloin) was very good. The picalho (garlic parmesan beef) was a little salty, but also quite good. One of the surprise favorites for me turned out to be the assado (brisket). It was very tender and moist. It wasn't served on a big skewer, but came out in a tray. The linguica (sausage) was not as spicy as I usually like. Another big star was the abacaxi (grilled pineapple). I had never seen that at a churrascaria and it was delicious - sweet and warm. On this night they also had coracao (chicken hearts), which were like little marbles of mineral goodness (if you like liver or gizzards, you'll love hearts). Also, the chimichurri sauce was some of the best I've ever had. There was an extra kick of lime juice which put it over the top. It definitely helped some of the overcooked meats. The salad bar is a little different than at other churrascarias. The hot side dishes are located there so it's self-serve (at other places the roving servers bring them to your table), which I love. There are also more choices (rice, black beans, mashed potatoes, breads, soups, pastas, collard greens, charcuterie, sushi, pre-made salads, cheeses, etc.). A final note, make sure you order the lemonade. They have several flavors (mango, guava, pineapple, strawberry) so try them all. For $23, it's definitely a place I would come back to. The salad/side bar and the chimichurri make up for the spotty service and lower-end meats. (The next time I come here, I expect the service to be much better.)

Ok first of all its not Fogo...more like Fogo's little sister with nicer service. The best part was the service..the servers and the meat guys...they were fast and attentive!! The selection of meat was lacking..lots of beef..pork and chicken thigh and bacon wrapped turkey. My 8 year old loved the bacon wrapped turkey..the pork was tender and the teriyaki beef was divine!! What was missing..lamb and seafood :( The salad bar was small. No smoked salmon..but the fried bananas was divine but the lobster bisque was thin and watery. Overall I give the place a 7 with service pushing the score up!

Probably one of the best churrascarias I've ever tried...and I mean that. I can honestly say that it's better than Fogo de Chao. Price is very reasonable, great and fast service, convenient parking, superb meat selections, salad galore, yummy drink selections etc etc etc. Seriously, the list goes on. The way they grill and season their meat selection is just fantastic. I absolutely love the caramel pineapple! The only thing I would like then to improve on is their pao de queso. It's far from the traditional kind but it's ok nonetheless. I highly recommend this place! Make sure to bring your empty stomachs and you won't leave unsatisfied.

This has been my second time to Tocanos. The first time, service was nothing less than terrible. Now trying it for our second time (party of 4), not only the service but the food was much less than desirable. We had to wait for meat to be brought to our table even though we were seated in front of the fire pit. The meat was dry, but I must say that Kelsee was good. This has been a horrible experience. I don't believe I can convince any of my friends to try I again. I have 4 free meal tickets and 4 free deserts. If anyone is willing to try it, reply and we can see if we can work out something. I'm willing to give these away for an honest opinion of the place on an weekend.

Absolutely horrible. Hostess staff is completely unorganized. They drove me over my breaking point when they served other patrons before me who arrived after. Sure fire way for bad reviews and to also set the tone for first impressions! Way to go!

Love this place. Definitely one of my favorites in the area. My wife and I usually come for lunch and it's never crowded. I know others have complained about the service, but it's been nothing but great. The food quality is excellent and I love the variety. This is a definitely recommend. I went to a similar style place in Kentucky and it didn't compare at all (even though it was a lot more expensive) Go here, I don't think you'll regret it.

Little more than a glorified Golden Corral. Meat was okay but salty, dry, and cold.We liked our waiter but the meat service was inconsistent. Way over-priced. Came there for a guest's birthday and told them that when we made the reservation but they made no note if it and forgot when we told them. We won't be back.

Wonderful food and experience. Though I felt that they needed to bring meat more often...though we got offered pineapple 4 times...2 times before we were even offered meat. Everything was cooked wonderfully. Oh and the chocolate cake is so huge that it would feed 8 people. It was amazing. The salad bar was great too! I wish I had made a couple more trips to it. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back again.

A great and cheap night out with more than enough meat on offer. I went to this restaurant with a buddy of mine and enjoyed various Brazilian inspired meats. The restaurant had a good atmosphere and the service was quick with the meat servers visiting our table every 3-5 mins. The salad bar was extensive and had plenty to chose from. Beer and wine selection was good with a strong influence on local brews. Very enjoyable!

I am very on the fence about my experience here. We went when I was STARVING, so usually food tastes even better than usual. The fact that the meal was still in the three star range doesn't bode well. I have been to "that other churrascaria" and the quality of the meat and level of seasoning was just so much better. That said, it falls under you get what you pay for. The price here is about half, and the meat quality is definitely better than half. The salad bar is pretty phenomenal. In addition to the basics, there were fresh soups (mmm...lobster bisque) and all of the sides were on the salad bar rather than delivered by waiter service, so you could get all you wanted ASAP. The desserts were also fantastic. I was stuffed, so I took home the cheesecake, and it was still good and moist several days later. They also had housemade limeade in a million different flavors. I was shocked that there was free refills on something house made. Definitely try this! Our server was great about explaining how the restaurant worked and was prompt in checking on us and delivering refills. The rest of the servers were a bit annoying at times though. We were unfortunately seated at the table the closest to the grill, so we were able to hear all the servers fighting over meat. There was not enough coming off the grill for each server to get some, so there was literally yelling and elbowing (jokingly, but still!) to try to get meat from the griller. There was also a young lady in training who decided to put a skewer of hot meat and a sharp knife right next to our baby, rather than on the other side of the table and looked confused as to why I would want her to move. Several other servers cut meat on my husband's side of the table and stayed there to serve me, passing bloody steak over my limeade several times. Luckily there was literally no blood spilled, but ew, gross. Ok, so here is the rub that bothered me for days after it happened. To the point I was going to drop them down to two stars. I am instead withholding judgement until I go again and chalking this up to management being boneheads and nothing malicious, but the lawyer in me keeps repeating the mantra -- ignorance of the law is no excuse. So, I took my baby to the restroom for a mommy-daughter potty break. There was only one handicapped stall and it had a changing table...but no door. I changed my little bundle of joy and then had to use the stall with no door. Yes, I could have walked her all the way back out of the restaurant to her dad and then went back, but when you gotta go, you gotta go. Now I am not fancy and I have gone potty in my share of open spaces (don't ask), but this is a place touting itself as a nice steakhouse. And we don't have a door? On my way out, I asked the manager when the door would be replaced. He kind of joked it off and went through an overly long and detailed explanation of what happened to the door. That's nice, buddy, but I just want to know when it will be replaced. He said a day or two. His attitude was very blase about the whole thing. I wonder if I was in a wheelchair if he would have taken my question more seriously. I am not up on my ADA law, but I am betting that some reasonable accommodation was expected, such as putting up a temporary door or curtain, or converting the men's room to a unisex handicap. It was just an ignorant way to handle a possible ADA violation and not very considerate to truly handicapped customers.

In a word - horrible. Service was so slow, it took us 2 hours to get through dinner. The meat runners were pretty quick, but the server who brought us drinks and the check (we had to ask for twice) we saw maybe once every 25-30 minutes. The buffet was okay, but that's not really what we went there for. If we wanted that, we would have gone to Golden Corral and the quality of the buffet was just notch above that. The line was long, and hungry people get attitudes waiting for food. What we went there for, the meat, was disgusting. We started with "beef tenderloin". I put that in quotes, because it had the consistency, grain and flavor of pot roast. Then came the "top sirloin" - It was literally so tough I spit it out after trying valiantly to chew it. Pulled beef brisket was next - unfortunately, it was probably the best thing we had. It was decent, but not what I had in mind for this place. Then comes "bacon wrapped filet" (picture attached). I was cautiously optimistic because I thought, finally, a decent cut of meat. It was fatty, gristly, and all I could taste was salt. We tried other meats, but they aren't worth mentioning, more of the same. In conclusion, if you go expecting Golden Corral-esque food, you probably won't be disappointed. If you are expecting quality cuts of meat that match the description they give you, spend $25 more per person and go to Fogo. Other reviewers have said you get what you pay for, and I would have to agree. We won't be back.

I've been here twice now. The first time was pretty good, food was decent, service was decent and more than half the cost of that *other* Brazilian restaurant in town. Liked it enough to take my Mom there for their Mothers Day special and it was a totally different experience. It's hard to know where to start. The only bright spot was our server, she was great and very attentive. The salad bar was disgusting. First time I went up I had to pick through a couple of plates before I got one that felt clean, they were each very gritty like the dishwasher wasn't working. Went back again and there were no plates, came back a few minutes later, got a plate, but there was old food on the one below, a guy came over and added a new stack plates, I expected him to do something about all the dirty ones, but no. So, no more salad bar for me this visit. Because of Mother's Day the place was busy which was expected, but I think the crammed in a couple of extra tables because it was cramped. When going to the salad bar, multiple people at our table mentioned how rude the meat servers were to the customers, they never waited for customers to move through tight spaces, always charging through, apparently they always had the right of way. Finally, our table was near the kitchen doors so I was witness to much unprofessional staff activities. Like one of the servers practically stripping off his uniform before even reaching the doors, then coming back in a stained wife beater to enjoy the salad bar. I heard lots of banter between servers and management, apparently none of them liked the people who were in the banquet room. Another person who I guess it was his day off but just wanted to hang around and talk to his friends who was wearing headphones and checking his phone when his friends couldn't talk. Lastly, a manager who clearly was on his last nerve was bumped from behind by a customer, he turned around like he was going to hit somebody before realizing it was a customer and not an employee and then rushed off instead of apologizing. Probably won't be back.

My boyfriend and I were really excited to try this place. We both love Brazilian food and are huge fans of Fogo. When we heard of this place we just had to try it, it turned out to be too good to be true. We had heard to make a reservation so we did and there was no problem there. However, after sitting for about 10 mins our server had simply walked by said, sorry, it's busy, I will be back soon. About 5 minutes later another server walked up, explained the process to us and took our drink order. Went to the salad bar, it was great. The only complaint I have there is the place was way over packed so it made if difficult to maneuver. Moving on we get back to our table...still no drinks. A few minutes later our server came by and asked about our drinks again...she had forgotten what the other server told her. About 5 minutes after that I finally get my drink, a glass of water. However, my boyfriend had to wait another 25 minutes to get his drink. The meat servers were very pleasant and helpful. The only downside was that they kept spilling the juices and stuff on out table so I had to use my napkin to cover up the sticky sauces they left behind. The meat was okay, portions were very small (compared to Fogo at least) with long waits in between. The other downside? Most of it was overcooked/dry but some of them were fantastic...definitely hit or miss. We got to watch all the tables around us get great services while our waitress continually didn't check on us and forgot my drink refill multiple times. Finally when it was time for dessert we had to wait another 15 mins for her to bring the dessert tray and instead of explaining them to is she just was like pick something and if you want I can explain it...everyone around us got an explanation. After all that it took another 20 mins to get our check and another 10 to get a box for our dessert. Needless to say the horrible service we received from Ashley C. does not make us want to return. She kept saying she was sorry and it was busy but other servers seemed to handle things just fine. If if was really that bad she should have handed us off to another server. EDIT: I emailed Tucanos after my horrible experience and it took them two days to reply in which they offered to send me "meal certificates" that was over two weeks ago. No meal certificates, no follow-up...What happened to their customer service? It's absolutely horrible.

Several notches below Fogo, but to be expected at half the price. Main complaint was atmosphere which kind of felt like a low-price cruise ship buffet. Long lines for the salad bar, lots of screaming kids, huge stacks of dirty dishes everywhere you look, servers with long hair not tied back, it was so loud our server was yelling at us the whole time. Tacky drink menu with lots of overdone fruity drinks with umbrellas. The salad bar was solid and most of the meat tasty, though not of as high of quality as Fogo. Again, you get what you pay for.

Great place to go for a Brazil style steak house. They offered a great selections of meats and everything was great. I personally like the salad bar for the soups (lobster bisque yum!) and cheese bread. My boyfriend lives that they offer wings as well unlike other similar restaurants like fogo de chao. The price is almost half of what similar restaurants charge but just as good just don't get nervous when they come around with meat on sticks and sharp knives :)

My wife is Brazilian and I've been to Brazil probably 15 times, so I had pretty high expectations going in. We arrived a bit skeptical but left very full and happy. I had dinner here during the first week it was open. It is an Americanized version of a Brazilian churrascaria. They have caipirinhas made with good cachaça, excellent cuts of meat (the picanha was awesome), and some pleasant surprises like grilled pineapple. I wasn't expecting them to have farinha, but they did (although I'm pretty sure it was made with Panko instead of manioc like in Brazil) which was excellent to have with the meat. The chicken wings have a barbecue sauce on them which you wouldn't find in Brazil. I thought they were excellent though...give them a try. The salad bar is excellent... It was hard not to fill up there, and still save room for meat. We didn't have appetizers or dessert, but everything looked pretty good. I had to do a double take when I saw something called "Nachos Brasilieros" on the menu (there is no such thing as nachos in Brazil) but then I saw that they make them with filling that would typically be used in a Brazilian food called coxinha -- neat idea, credibility restored. It's a beautiful restaurant, service is fantastic, and the food is awesome. If you're not familiar with Brazilian food, go and try something new... You'll leave happy.

I had reservations at 8pm on Friday night. We got seated at our table at 8:15pm. The first thing I noticed walking in was how loud it was in the restaurant. We had hard time hearing our server. We ordered drinks, and the margarita was not even drinkable. I ordered a mixed drink that was not made correctly 2 times in a row and gave up. The server was not personable at all. The steaks were very leather like, and hard to chew. I was very disappointed in the restaurant.

I went to Tucano's over Mother's Day weekend last year. I was very disappointed. The service wasn't great. And for the $95 I spent I had to fill up on buffet items because they hardly bring any meat out each time. Each server was walking around with 3 or 4 tiny fillets of meat and would run out so quickly that they hardly ever made it to my table. Definitely NOT worth the money.

Meat is overdone and dry. This was the only restaurant around that had available seating on a Friday night, and there is a good reason for it. Save your money and go downtown if you're looking for excellent meat selections cooked appropriately.

Stopped there last night for dinner. Great food and even better service. The power is in the wooden flippy thing, green means meat will appear at your table. My date and I talked about the dynamic personalities of our server, the meat servers, and the manager. Everyone we encountered, was alot of fun. The food was amazing and I am looking forward to going back.

If you want a good steak, this isn't the place to go. There are only two descriptors for the meat here: Overly Salty and Overcooked. Often, you'll find the cuts tough. These aren't premium meats, and that may be reflected in the price. It's only 23 dollars per person. When they come to your table, they shave off about 1-2 bites of meat for you. Just keep the green side of the wooden column up. You'll finish the 1-2 bites fast. When we visited, on a Friday, and not very many people there. They even shave off only a bite of the pineapple when that comes around. Although, near the end of our meal, the waiter did ask us if we wanted him to shave off a bit more. We appreciated that. I liked that they had dark cooked greens...collard greens. Perfect for low carb. Their bacon wrapped filet tasted a bit weird. The bacon tasted odd. The best meat was the sirloin when it was medium well...which was not often. They did ask us once how we'd like our meat. We said medium well and it mostly came well done. A family of 3 can expect to spend 90 dollars with good tip. I think a better value is had at Logan's or Texas Roadhouse. Either have better steaks...and lower prices. All in all, you won't leave hungry at Tucanos. Go there once to say you've had the experience. PROS: Plenty of food, some not too bad, pineapple is really good, good amount of salad bar fixings, and sides. Waiters come around fairly quickly. They serve chicken hearts. Who else does that? Waiters are nice. Lots of food if you want. CONS: Food is way too salty for most people's taste. Meat is a bit tough on most skewers. You'll drink a gallon of water after eating there. Used plates aren't policed off the table for the most part. I really have my doubts about the germs on those tongs touching the knife and meats. It just didn't seem that clean to me. Who knows what someone does with the tongs on their table? Only 1-2 bites at a time carved off for people. My son said, "Is this it?" If you are a slow eater this is great. For a teenager...not so good. It's like a buffet place but they bring the meats to you. If you don't like buffets, you likely won't like Tucanos. If you don't want to spend as much money, go for lunch there.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch last Friday. The waiter was very good at his job and explained everything well. The salad bar was awesome! I'm not much for salad bars, but this was a positive experience. My favorite had to be the parm. tenderloin, all the things I tried I enjoyed. We will definitely be back!

Compared to ALL Brazilian Steakhouses we've eaten at, Tuscanos didn't compare. I was surprised to see the cheap price when we first sat down, but the old saying "you get what you pay for" comes to mind. The salad bar was not as fresh or as many choices as others. The soups were dismal. The meat was a very poor/low quality. The only reason this isn't a 1 star rating is that our server did a phenomenal job. I will not return. When my wife and I want the Brazilian experience, we will spend the extra money for quality food and experience.

The atmosphere is a tropical elegant, like you're on a vacation. The salad bar is very good, but when it comes to the meat, Fogo de Chao's is better. The price, however, is pretty good. The service of meat could definitely be better; it takes a while for the meats to rotate around, so I don't feel like I got as much as I should have.

I had the opportunity to visit Tucanos here recently and had a I had an enjoyable dining experience. The food was very nice. The wait staff were very attentive and pleasant. Overall a good experience. If I had to pick one thing that I didn't like, I would have to say that I didn't like the fact that they give you such small portions of meat when they come to the table. I kind of felt like we were only given small slivers of meat. We visited the restaurant on a Thursday night and it wasn't that busy in there. Since it was after 7pm, maybe they were trying not to have to cook anymore meat for the evening? We weren't necessarily hungry when we left because we definitely didn't have room for dessert. I guess I am just used to getting larger samples of the roasted meats when visiting other similar establishments and would have appreciated more of the samples that I really liked. I will try this establishment again...maybe not so close to the end of the day and see if that makes a difference.

Reservation at 7:30 was seated at 7:40. Waiter explained what's going on. 7:50 went and got salad stuff most of them were empty. Got salmon sushi at the salad bar is just sweet rice vinegar taste. I understand it's not sushi restaurant. The bread rolls were amazing though. 7:54 meat came bite size portion not like fogo where they give you great meat and not scrap looking meat. 8:19 waiting for meat 8:21 got chicken heart. 8:25 asked the server to start the meat in our direction. Sitting the furthest from where meat comes in you see them bring in the meat but it never reaches you. And they serve the same direction every time so it doesn't reach you. 8:34 tenderloin came. 8:39 top sirloin came. We special ordered some type of meat cause they were running a seafood specials. That meat never came until the end when we were all done so they gave it to us for free. Ordered coffee and that didn't come until the end. Scewers when empty it feels as if your not eating all you can eat. It feels like your eating scraps. One of the server was just plain rude. We got the managers biz card in order to complain about him. Like the rest of the people who mentioned the serving size is like a bite size. It's really frustrating when you ask more the dude says can we have some for the rest of the people? I'm like you got to be kiddin me. First of all your job is to serve us all you can eat meat not all you can wait or all you can share... Second, you don't argue with your clients and make them feel stupid in front of your friends. Like I mentioned above our table was far from where the servers bring meat in and out from. I mentioned it was my birthday. Had to have the server change the ticket since he didn't take out my meal. If you like cheap meat that's not all great go here. Meats were chewy and stringy. I took a photo of it as the meat came. There chickens were pretty good.

I was never expecting this place to be of a Fogo De Chao caliber. However, I was expecting that after 3 months of delayed openings, that this place would have been laid out much much better. There is no room for ANYTHING. You got half assed waiters/waitresses trying to maneuver around a crowded bar and a crowded front lobby waiting area. It is a CLUSTER $!$!! I was happy with the beef related meat items . Wait staff was all very rushed and clueless. I saw quite a few manager/owner types milling around basically getting in the way, but NOT HELPING in anyway. I was not impressed by the "carry around" extra sides. They were downright nasty and after tasting, I avoided all together, I would go to this place again if someone else was footing the bill, but I would never waste my own money here again. I work hard for my money, I will choose to leave it elsewhere!

Oh my god. Never again. I was so horribly disappointed. The meat was dry, the limeade was bitter, the salad bar was eh, okay, but really rather Golden Corral like. One server even said "this place is not a steakhouse, the meat is supposed to be dry" Are you kidding me? I have never left a bad review anywhere, and I have never had a meal comped anywhere before. To you people that think this is better than Fogo De Chao, you are insane.

This was my first time at a restaurant like this and I loved it. Great service and excellent food.

We had reservations for Valentine's Day. They seated us in a corner by the fire exit where we didn't even get to sit across from each other. We ordered a bottle of wine, the server comes back to inform us they are out of wine. The meat servers were high school boys who were just screwing around and trying to flirt with all the ladies- it made my fiancé very uncomfortable. The filet was very small and did not taste like filet, most meat was dry and our special valentines dessert was wrapped chocolate candy. The next day we were both sick with food poisoning. Having so many different types of meat in one location is no joke, they need adults with experience working there- not high school kids. Tucanos you need to take some notes from Fogo De Chao. We will never go back, EVER.

I think this place might be getting a bad rap. Hubby and I ate here this past Saturday night at 7:00 pm. We made a reservation and were seated right on time. Though it was very busy, I had no problem getting what I wanted from the salad bar. There was much to choose from on the salad bar and I would think that most people could find something they like. Also, the meat servers rotated constantly and we did not want for more...the terriyaki beef was our favorite! The skewered veggies and pineapple were also delish. Our waitress was the perfect amount of attentive! We had a great time!

Extremely disappointed. We were very excited for this place to open when we heard about it, as we love Fogo and other chiaroscurias, but this is place is ABSOLUTELY bad. Service is really terrible at $23/plate at dinner; meat selection was really sub par. We had a 7 o'clock reservation and were seated on time, but I noticed they were still bussing our table as we approached (the hostess was walking like, bridal-march pace to stall). Not a big deal, but a sign of things to come. Waitress was sweet to start and gave us a basic description of the run-down; tried to push some add-on sides a few times. Salad bar was really mediocre but not bad. Meat service is where the whole thing fell apart. We were offered steak a total of twice (top sirloin and garlic beef); we were offered roasted pineapple five times, and then a random assortment of other meats--potroast, chicken wings, sausage, and turkey that tasted like lunchmeat. At around 7:35 our waitress came by and asked us if we wanted dessert (we'd been on meat service for about 15-20 minutes tops at this point). We were kinda confused, but declined. She came back not ten minutes later and asked if we maybe wanted dessert, or just the check. We got the hint and took the check (which she had brought with her). We noticed the same trick with the hostess and just-barely-bussed tables and realized this place's MO is to rush you through the meal and turn tables as fast as possible. On a Tuesday. Overall, I can't recommend this place--our meal was buy-one-get-one and even at that price I STILL don't think we got value. Spend the extra money and head to Fogo de Chao (or better yet, do Fogo's great lunch service for about the same price as dinner at Tucanos) and stay away from this place.

The front desk doesn't know what they are doing. Messing up the check ins. On a Friday night this is ridiculous.

So my wife wanted to try this place out thinking the food would be as good as fogo's! To her surprise, not mine, it was not! I believe their favorite seasoning was SALT! I am a big fan of Brazilian restaurants but i was not impressed with Tucano's.

My family and I really enjoyed our experience here. The meat was cooked perfectly, the grilled pineapple and veggies are just right as well. We really dug the salad bar and it's variety of choices. * You really need to try the Brazilian lemonade.*

The food was very good and we did not experience any of the issues with service as others on here did. We liked the variety of foods on the buffet and everything was fresh. Although it was extremely busy we were still able to get a bunch of different meats and they were all delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone

Terrible service! Waiter forgot our table was there, then our drinks. When we finally got drinks they were out of regular Pepsi. The food was cheap quality meat. The salad bar line was long and didn't look appealing. Not worth the money. It took 20 minutes to even get them to take our money.

I ventured out to this restaurant with my family on a Saturday night. It was packed! The waiting area is tiny and we had to stand the entire time. We had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated even though we had reservations. The salad bar was impressive- a good selection of salad toppings, shrimp, sides, soups. The fried bananas were great! I was impressed by the selections of meats. Our favorites were the top sirloin, brisket, BBQ chicken, and turkey. Service was a bit slow at times and we were there for about 2 hours. I would definitely return. Prices were fair for the amount of food that you get. One complaint was the layout of the restaurant. We also noticed that the floors were very slippery.

We never got to try it, even though we sat at a table for twenty minutes. It was 3:00 in the afternoon, so the restaurant wasn't even busy. The waiter ignored us and headed over to another table that had been seated after we had been there for fifteen minutes. We did get to see a server cut off bite-size pieces of sausage for a table in front of us. We got up and left, informing the hostess of our situation--she couldn't have cared less.

It's like a casual fogo de chao. For the price go here amazing salad bar, great meats and half the price of bigger places. It's busy at night so be prepared.

My family and I went to Tucanos on 5/10/14 the day before Mother's Day. I'd tried getting a reservation but found I'd waited too long. But since we were going to be in the area my sister-in-law recommended we at least give it a try. And I'm so glad she did. They were still accepting walk-ins and quoted a 30-40 minute wait but really it only took half the time. It was the first time my mother had ever been there and she had a fabulous time, which was all I could ask on Mother's Day weekend. The 5 of us enjoyed the divine meat selection especially the parmesan steak, the turkey wrapped in bacon, the wings and the mango honey white fish. Our drink server was only at our table sporadically so our drinks ran low a few times. But our meat server was a delight. He was always there with a new skewer, paid attention to which of us liked what and made sure to only bring things to the table we enjoyed. My brother had a mojito from the bar that was awesome. And their "salad" bar had many really tasty options. I recommend the beef stroganoff on mashed potatoes. We loved our server so much we even raved about him to the manager. It was such a fun experience and my mom felt thoroughly spoiled and that's exactly what I was going for. Thanks Tucanos for making her special day so fun.

My family went here for the first time last night. After reading the reviews on here i have to say i was a bit nervous. It was a saturday night and i knew they would be packed. We had a 6 pm reservation that was filled promptly when we arrived. I have never been to a restaurant like this so I have no bar set to judge off of. I do however know good food when I eat it. All of the meats were sauced, seasoned, and cooked to perfection. As others have commented, there is the occasional drips on the table from the servers but what do you expect when hot fresh juicy meat is being served tableside! I think some people need to just get over themselves and not be such snobs. As for the service, we had to wait an extra 5 min at one point for a refill but that was it. The meat servers are on it! We were getting meat faster than we could handle and had to flip the puck multiple times. The salad bar is delish and offers excellent warm sides as well as the best hot rolls. All in all I would rate it a 10 and will not hesitate to go back, how bout this week! Yyyyuuuuuummmmmm!!! UPDATE: 8/27/2014 We went back for our second visit and some things had changed. it seems there were enough complaints on refills that they now bring you your drink with a sidecar of extra drink for you to refill your own drink. At first I thought this was pretty cool but then realized there were two elements that work against you. 1. at a table of all adults you lose an enormous amount of space and have a lot more reaching over and clutter on the table. Add an element of an alcoholic beverage and you now have three glasses to contend with if you like water as well 2. it would appear the servers used this to check on the tables less often as the need for service was less. We had to ask the meat servers frequently for other table service needs. now lets get to the meat, lets just say this experience I was less impressed than my first experience. a lot of the meats this time were not as tasty and the meat service left a little to be desired. we had made a request for the top sirloin and it took 27min to get it. this request was made with two different meat servers and our table server twice. They kept bringing the sausage and turkey frequently but not the red meat. All in all I still had plenty of delicious items and would come back it just knocked my rating a bit.

Terrible! Very loud, SLOW service, and cold food. We were so excited to go because we have been to similar places and loved it. This on the other hand is a huge disappointment. Never again!

The food is very good, the service is poor. It took over 20 minutes, and then speaking to manager for our bottle of wine to be delivered. The meat service was slow as well. Hopefully these corrections in service can be corrected. Hopefully they make improvements on their service levels. We will give it one more shot.

Wife loved the salad bar. The meat was hit and miss. I loved the bacon wrapped turkey and I am a steak guy. The meat came out slow but it did not stop until I said uncle. The bacon wrapped filet was overcooked all 3 times. The garlic sirloin was tender and good. The chicken heart tasted like mild liver. The beef and pork BBQ was okay. The terriyaki beef was tender one time and chewy another but flavor was like a mild beef jerky. The BBQ chicken wing was flavorful. The beautiful pink top sirloin lacked flavor. The unsauced but chicken wing was over-seasoned and dry. The grilled pinapple was full of flavor but the grilled veggies were a bit bland. The smoked sausage was flavorful but the skin on the piece a bit thick and overdone - try this dipped in their hot or mild BBQ sauce for extra flavor. Our service was great from the bartender as our waiter. The servers were polite and hustled. The wife had an excellent Creme Brule' for desert! Even with the uneven food we will be back to navigate to the good stuff and share a great time together.
