Unfortunately we took a detour to eat at this place in hopes to have a glass of wine as well. There was an older lady behind the wine bar who was really snooty & was like can I help you...no one was on the cafe side to help us. Very unprofessional as we were ordering the lady was telling us about all her personal problems. The quiche was wet, jiggly and disgusting. Veggie soup was good. We didn't even get wine bc the lady at the wine bar was so rude we didn't want to give the business anymore money. So we left disappointed and hungry!
Exceptional service, food, and atmosphere. Come here for delicious coffee, food, and libations.
Wonderful place, food and service! We had a family reunion and went here a little late for dinner. We were a party of twelve. We ate on the patio and the owners were very kind and considerate. The menu was great and the food delicious. A great place to eat or just chill!

Brunch on Valentine's Day sounded like a good idea to me. So we followed the Wabash river downstream to New Harmony and the Red Geranium. Remarkable that such a nice place can be found in such a small town. Dining area is simple, low key, lovely. Menu is more breakfast/lunch than a blend of brunch options. But what they got is pretty good. Wife had the steak and eggs. Steak was first rate. I had the tortellini, also fantastic. Service was excellent. All smiles and hospitality from our well dressed, friendly server. Shortcomings? Asparagus with the steak and eggs was shriveled and limp. As the only vegetable on the plate, it's flaccidity was pronounced. Maybe a more generous serving of fruit on the plate? My shrimp cost me an extra $10. Kinda steep for four of these guys. But they were so good, I almost didn't mind. No, wait! $10!! A final thing that is peaking as my greatest peeve: cold butter. Can't spread it on bread. So that's a lot of criticism. I really liked the Red Geranium. No hesitation recommending for a nice meal. Reasonable price and attention to detail that just isn't going to be found outside of metro area establishments charging much, much more. One regret, just not enough room for dessert.
As beautiful as this place was, our breakfast was terrible. The waffle tasted as though it had been made with sour mix and the eggs were burnt, but served cold. The is probably because we were the only people to order while we were there and it still took 30 minutes to get our eggs served. Our coffee was served with apologies for it being cold, but no offer to get it warmed up. After paying the bill, we left to find breakfast.
Ate here with friends yesterday, hadn't been here in years. Wow, it is still as good as ever. We had small salads and the lettuce/greens were SO nice and fresh (I grow my own and I know good lettuce when I see it!) House dressing was excellent as well. We all had various sandwiches and they were ALL excellent. I had the portobello mushroom and it was one of the best I've ever had. Service was excellent as well, even though they were fairly busy. We all kept remarking to each other how good everything was. I can see I have been missing some good meals, we'll be back!!!

Arrived at 9 on a weekday. Even though the place was empty, they were willing to stay open to serve us. Food was nothing spectacular, but it was quick and pretty good in a town that closes down early. Good beer recommendations, but the meat on my Reuben sandwich was cold in the center and used Kraft cheese.
Bar review only: Late night weekend after-dinner drinks are great here. The bartender was super friendly, attentive and made excellent drinks...and I must say, the people watching is great with the drunkards running back and forth from the legion! =) Next time we're in town we will have to try the grub. Know before you go: No one under the age of 21 allowed.
Rude, rude, rude!!! We were in town for a family reunion and thought we would stop in for some late dinner. Met at door by "hostess" / owner. One of our party did not have her identification and we were told no one would be served. She also accused some of our party ( all adults) that she "knew" we had tried to enter the night before through the backdoor. Not true!! Most of us were from out of state and had never been there before. Take your business down the street this is simply a local/ biker bar.
