Not a good experience. My wife and I went here for dinner and the steaks were undercooked, burgers undercooked and seevice in general was slow.

We called ahead and were told they could seat the 8 of us. When we arrived we had to split our group into two booths. Waited 50 minutes for our food after ordering. Some of the food was cold, some looked as if had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite a while, and my steak was well done even though I ordered medium. It will be a long time (if ever) before I return to this Roadhouse.

Well, where do I begin. There were four of us and we waited for over an hour to be seated on a Monday night. Our waitress was prompt to greet us, but that was as good as it gets. We all ordered the same thing, except my wife and I ordered our road kill medium and potato with butter and sour cream. My parents ordered their road kill well done and potato with butter only. Pretty simple you would think, but after over 45 minutes, she brought our food and give my parents ours and vice versa. During our wait for our food, the only way we got our drinks refilled was to get her attention as she stood at the bar conversing with a friend and not attending her tables. The times she did walk by our table, she never picked up our empty plates, the other waitresses did. Our waitress was horrible! Something has changed at this Road House because their service and food use to be fantastic. When we did finally get our meal, or road kill was much smaller than usual and not very good. To top of our not so wonderful experience, as my father was paying our waitress in cash, she ask if he wanted any change and as he paused out of total shock of the question, she said well being you paused, you must want your change. Luckily my father was nice and left her a small tip, because I wasn't leaving one, she didn't deserve it. I'm not sure if my family and I will ever return again. Please think twice if you are thinking about eating here.

Saturday we had steaks at Texas Roadhouse with 2 other couples. I had the 8 ounce Sirloin and my wife had a 6 ounce Sirloin. We both had a salad and steak fries and a drink. The others had ribs and chicken and shrimp. The food was great and the service great also. One of the couples asked if they gave a discount to military veterans. They server said he she thought it was 10% but she would check to make sure. When she returned she said it was 30%. We were amazed. The bill for my wife and I was $16.00 I left a $5.00 tip and the others also left a $5.00 tip each. The food was excellent as was the waitress, she was extremely helpful and was very personable. I will definitely be back and highly recommend the Texas at here in Muncie to anyone who wants a great meal for a reasonable price. The steaks were really well prepared so compliments to the chef. Many times when the meals are excellent we forget to compliment the cook. It would be nice if we could also have a way to provide the chef a tip.

Arrived shortly after 4 which was the opening time. No waitresses available till 4:20. So had to give our name and wait till staff arrived. They were not very well organized. When we finally got seated found the peanuts were too stale to eat. You would think they could afford fresh peanuts. Meal was ok but just to many other negatives.

Muncie, IN: Not steller as the location near home. Considering the dining room policy of not seating you until everyone in your party is present, we did have to wait a few extra minutes the first time we ate here. On the second visit, we did the "Call Ahead" about half an hour prior to our 7 pm arrival and received a table in less than five minutes after walking in the door. FOOD *Steak Kebobs, salad *Steak Kebobs, side of Broccolli and Carrots *12 oz Ribeye, green beans, Steak Fries *Salmon with sides of House Salad and a Sweet Potato The assorted meats were cooked wonderfully as ordered, arriving tasty, and juicy. However, care was lacking in the details. I had asked for the onions in my Steak Kebobs to be well done and they arrived with the edges barely browned. Additionally, presentation on my plate could be improved by centering my entree kebobs when I had no additional side to fill the platter. That was the case on both occassions. Our friends' Baked Sweet Potatoes were missing the brown sugar topping ordered. ( SNAPSHOT THOUGHTS I asked the manager, a lady with dark framed glasses, why clean bread plates were stacked right behind customers' heads, on ledges above booth seats where hair comes in direct contact with the edges of those plates. [See my photos] She did not address my question, only saying that they were high enough above customers' heads to not be a problem [Hmmm, see my photos of stacked small bread plates]. She assured me that she'll look into the reason for locating those plates where they were, throughout the patron dining areasm

We went in a got seated right away. That's always a plus. It goes downhill quickly after that. The rolls were very disappointing- burnt and left a bad after taste. We were brought a second basket of more burnt rolls that weren't edible. I ordered a hamburger plain and without cheese (yes, just a bun and a patty). My hamburger comes out with everything on it. There were hardly any seasoning on the fries. The size of my patty would be something I could get at Burger King. The food was good, but nothing to brag about. The service, atmosphere and management wasn't any better. The ladies seating were very nice and friendly. We got seated in the bar area. It felt like we were at a local bar. Workers were all huddled around together talking- not doing much work. We weren't asked if we wanted an appetizer. The server was not friendly. I did not get asked if I would like a refill until after I was done with my meal. The server didn't care that my food was wrong. They all were too concerned about going and hanging at the bar with everyone. They all were being unprofessional.

Oh if the health department only did unannounced visits... Poor management, dilapidated building, lackluster service, four-legged kitchen residents, employees who pick at your food beforehand. I won't expand. All of this I've seen from the dining room as a customer. Dare I dream several years ago of the restaurant it used to be? The only redeemable aspect is the rolls.

Service was warm, friendly and attentive. The place has folksy charm and always seems packed, which is why I was confused when the food came. I ordered the roasted chicken paired with ribs, with fries, steamed veggies and a salad on the side. What they call "fall off the bone" ribs were really just meat that was overcooked to mush and the sauce was bland. The chicken was well seasoned all the way through, no doubt from a brine, but undercooked with pink in the breast. The broccoli was ridiculously overcooked, while somehow the carrots were perfect. The fries came with an inedible amount of seasoning on them. The salad and the rolls were the only things that were issue free. Even the tea was watery due to some sort of mechanical malfunction. The server, whose name was Jessica, strove diligently to fix every issue I had. She replaced the ribs with a sirloin and brought me new fries and allowed me to season them myself. Despite the numerous issues, I still enjoyed the meal purely because of the excellent service.

UPDATE: This location refuses to accept their check in offer. The manager, Mark, tried to say they have nothing to do with Yelp and it is all 3rd party affiliation. He had no advice or suggestions as to how to handle the situation. After some back and forth talk in which I explained to him how Yelp works. he decided to let my mom try the pickle chips. Thank you sir but your attitude could have been far friendlier since it is your store that has the problem not your customers. The food is so amazing! We love the steak and ribs combo, its the best of both worlds. Their ribs are literally falling off of the bone and it is all edible meat, none of that mystery gristle. Steaks are always cooked to order and I have only had to send them back on two occassions in the 15 years I've been going here. I recommend trying the Greenbeans and salad as sides. I love the frozen margaritas as well! I now live out of town but always try to squeeze in a visit here when I'm back visiting and my family is more than happy to comply. Obviously the servers tend to be college kids and this place is a great opportunity for them to be able to work through school. The down side to that is sometimes you get a server that isn't up to par but even then the service isn't bad. All in all I would recommend this place!

A favorite dinner spot for the family, reasonably priced meals. Every time we're here we get excellent service and the food is always cooked to order ....

This is the only place my girlfriend's family every wants to patronize, so I get dragged along often enough. Service is generally excellent. I usually get a rare sirloin and a baked sweet potato. No frills but it's always good. I loathe dining on McGalliard, but it could be a lot worse.

Every time I come here I know I'm gonna get great service, and good food. It's not gourmet but the service is great and no matter how hard I try to stay on a diet their fresh rolls with their cinnamon butter gets me every time. If you want great country food with excellent service and a laid back place to watch a football or basketball game, I highly recommend Texas Roadhouse

Very poor customer service. Arrived on a Tuesday evening early to get tables for a party of 10 around 5:30. Was informed they could only accommodate 7 at the largest table. They said they could not guarantee seating in close proximity. No big deal. Then, with plenty of tables open, they would not seat me until everyone in the party arrived. We had people coming in from various areas in Muncie so I knew it would be 20 minutes or so. In the mean time, other large parties arrived and I got the feeling it would be whose ever party arrived (in full) first would get the one and only large table. Atmosphere is dark and dreary with very loud music. Young ladies at the front could use customer service training. I called Applebee's and they held a table for us with no questions. We left. Sorry Texas Roadhouse, you missed out on a $60 tip for 2 hrs work.

One of the few places you can take the family to after 10 pm on a weekend. At least at that time, you do not have to wait for a seat. This place is a definite favorite for Munsonians. A part owner told me this location is consistently at the top of the country for sales. The gift certificate trailer they have out around Christmas time accounts for more sales while it is there than some of their restaurants do for the whole year. The restaurant is busy--always. Having said that, I just gave it a three star rating. The health department had to shut the place down after they did not take corrective action on a cleaning issue. There are a lot of restaurants in Muncie, but only a few push it so far as to actually get shut down. The restaurant lives on, but the health inspector at that time is now seeking other opportunities. Too bad, as I kind of like to eat my food in restaurants without fear of getting sick afterwards. The sweet rolls are good. The blooming onion now just comes in a miniature version. The french fried pickles slices were good, but I like spears better. For the lighter appetite, you can't go wrong with the six ounce steak, Caesar salad (but no anchovies) and their green beans. They have a full service bar with friendly bartenders. The bathrooms get a workout from the patrons, and get pretty "ripe" by the end of the day..

I've always somewhat enjoyed the food at Texas Roadhouse, but this particular one in Muncie was just not a pleasant dining experience. We were in town for the 70.3 Ironman, so of course all the restaurants were jam packed in Muncie. We saw the Texas Roadhouse didn't have a line so we decided to go in. We got seated right away which was nice, and our waitress came and was nice as well. She however kept saying how she is new so blah blah blah... i hate waitresses that do that. don't use your newness as an excuse! just do your job and if you're good we won't even know the difference! Unfortunately, she did not do such a great job; not only did we pretty much wait an hour for our food to finally come out, but throughout that hour, the like two times she came to our table, she had bad news. First, they ran out of baked potatoes. 3 out the 4 of us had baked potatoes.... ok they'll go with the mashed instead. 15 minutes later, "I'm sorry we are out of mashed potatoes too". let me tell you that it was about 6pm in the evening.... how do you run out of potatoes already?!?! Ok, that might not have been the waitresses fault, but what WAS her fault was the fact that she never came back to check on us, or clear our table! so we pretty much sat there with our dirty salad and bread plates and empty glasses. Now, what I was more pissed about than anything was when I started feeling incredibly hot and sweaty. After asking for the manager, he proceeds to tell us that their air conditioning unit broke. Whhhhat??! Let me remind you that the weather was 100+ outside!! you are letting your customers in without telling them this?? Put a sign at the door or something - it is so dangerous to have people inside with that much heat! anyway, the food finally came and i was way too hot to even eat it. my this time, not only was my body temperature boiling, so was my blood pressure. the food actually tasted really good, but i ended up only eating a few bites and packing up the rest of it and bringing it home to eat in my air conditioned B&B. i gave this place 2 stars for at least the staff being nice and the food (what they actually had in stock!) being good.

Hot bread with Cinnamon butter: 9/10 Everything else: 5/10 We had our waitress fumbling with credit cards. Not so pleasant in the end.

If I were writing this review 10 years ago, I would be giving this place five stars. The novelty of throwing peanut shells on the floor impressed me more then, and I had very little to compare the food to. Now, after having lived in Chicago, on the east coast and for the last 6 years, in the international city of Honolulu, all that I can say is, "I've had better". My memories are fond ones, but sadly the Texas Roadhouse doesn't live up to them. The Filet Medallions (seriously, WTH are medallions?) are dry and bland even when ordered medium rare. The seasoning on the stale fries is a bit heavy handed. The steamed vegetables were soggy and overcooked. Whatever my wife ordered displeased her to the point where she wouldn't even eat it, but she was too polite to raise a fuss in front of my family (who, by the way, were enjoying the food tremendously). Because of my memories of enjoying the food here (before I had experienced better), I had thought that this place would be on my must visit list any time that I was back in town. Well, no longer, I've said my goodbyes to Texas Roadhouse. If I never make it back, I'll be just fine. The menu prices are very fair for this type of food however! Also, they used to be able to move tables around to accommodate large groups. On my last visit we were told that the tables are now bolted down so this can't be done. Was this just so they wouldn't have to move tables any more? Either way, they lost versatility in the process.

Well this was a great place to go back years ago......but seems to need a good cleaning everywhere.....just kinda dirty and feels like no money has been put in to spruce this place up......HQ needs to close this one for a few weeks and revamp everything! Too bad as it used to be a good one.....
