I've eaten here a few times, and have never been disappointed. The wait staff and the time I have to wait for the food I've ordered is always quick. The owner has been present every time I've been here, and the staff is very knowledgeable about all items on the menu. I can understand why several different organizations hold their annual luncheon here. If you're looking for a good meal that's healthy and will fill you up, at good price, I'd recommend you go here. Jane and her staff will not disappoint you.

this place is alright for lunch if you're in the area. dining inside i found to be a bit awkward. staff is friendly enough, but the space just seemed cramped, as there were tables were more or less adjacent to a shopping area. i'd recommend takeout.

Short: - Try once and you will fall in love - Panini here are best - made with different kind of bread - They have nice dessert selection and delicious chocolates for sale - Get free cake on your birthday - Check-in with four-square app to get 10% off your orders Long: This place is just awesome! Must try. Its location is kind of hidden, but once you here, you will keep visiting. The food has nice home-made flavor and delicious taste. This place is only open for lunch Mon-Saturday. We tried grilled veggie sandwich and Panini Rustica. Both were good but Panini was out of this world. You must try at least one Panini of your choice. They use a different kind of bread for Panini. You can make it meal with soup and side for $3 extra. Other choices were salad, burger, fruit plates etc. They also have awesome dessert selection. We tried Chocolate confusion cake and was very delicious. (Its quite heavy and should be enough to feed three people after the meal). They also have home-made chocolates for sale and you cannot resist to buy after seeing them on display. The owner Jane was also roaming around and making sure that everything is good (very nice lady). They also treat you with free cake on birthday and sing a nice song for you. Check-in with four-square app to receive 10% discount.

Had a business appointment in this area and decided to try something local. Very quaint atmosphere. Food was very fresh with a nice presentation. The lentil soup was the best I have ever had. The only complaint I have is regarding the service. It took several minutes for a server to come over with a menu and forever to get the check. This was probably due to the fact that I had several different people waiting on me-which made things very inconsistent. I would come here again because the food was great-but I really hope the service is better next time.

I am sitting here right now but I am very disappointed. For the record I am a veterinarian so I can't comment on the non veterinarian menu but the veggie burger was very disappointing. The patty was cold and chewy. In addition it was a square patty quiet a bit smaller than the bun, which made it worse. Won't be coming back again.

It kind of sucks that I found out about this place after living for years in Lafayette area. This is a wonderful place. Tasty food, very spacious, and front porch which is surrounded by plants is just wonderful. Will go there frequently, I am sure.

They have a great menu. Definitely something for everyone. Hot and cold sandwiches. The fruited chicken salad is awesome. As is the potato salad.

Unique, lovely, delicious. Truly a hidden gem. Go for lunch and mentally envision your next catered event while you enjoy a meal that's different from the usual or traditional. Homemade soups each day, prepared by a soup artisan. (Is that a thing? It needs to be since I don't know what else to call the soup lady.) Sandwiches range from the basics presented with a new flair to new creations that will impress you. Something for everyone. And if you are good, you might even get a cookie.

I'm always amazed at how few people who live in Lafayette actually know about this place for lunch. Granted, the clientele is mostly old ladies, but don't let that fool you. The food is fantastically fresh and I love their salads and sandwiches. I wish they still sold their frozen soups, those were great to have on hand at home! No matter what the season, their ingredients for the fruit plate and garden salads are the freshest and most tasty. Also, they have outdoor seating, something lacking in a lot of places in the area. It's in an asphalt parking lot, but they enclosed in in greenery to make it quite pleasant.

I went here on Wednesday at 12:30 pm with my wife and two kids. I called ahead to ensure they had high chairs. Bonus - the high chair buckle worked. (You don't realize how common broken buckles are until you have a wiggly kid in there.) The place was much bigger than I expected; it's the whole building. Plenty of room in there and the decor is very cozy without being kitschy. The table setups actually feel very high-end for a casual lunch place. I thought that was very nice. The clientele consisted of 25 women and three men. Kind of funny to me - another reviewer commented it was all old ladies in there and I will not argue much with that! I constructed my own sandwich of turkey, gouda, hummus, lettuce, tomato, red onion on a multigrain baguette. My wife had the salmon burger and my older daughter who can eat real food had the chicken tenders. Everything was awesome. I hate to say it, but what impressed me the most was the kids meal. The chicken tenders seemed to have been cooked on a griddle which made them crispier. Also, they came with six kinds of fruit! (cantaloupe, watermelon, grapes, orange, pineapple, strawberry) They include jelly beans too, but given that it was just Easter, we're good on candy, so I asked that they hold the jelly beans. My sandwich was fresh and delicious. The hummus is a little gritty, so if you only like super-smooth authentic stuff, you might not love it. My wife enjoyed her salmon burger and potato salad. Service was great, prices were acceptable and there is plenty of very close street parking if the lot is full. We will be back.

Excellent and a great place to take the wife on a Friday lunch date. Potions were fair for even me and the taste was delicious !

Jane's is one of my top preferred restaurants in the Lafayette area. I only wish this place were open outside of lunch hours, and I would probably visit a lot more frequently than I do. I nearly always order a sandwich platter or some variation of that. Today, my husband and I shared an egg salad sandwich along with a side of the vegetarian potato salad and a fruit garnish. It was a healthy amount of food! It was all somewhat light fare, however, so it didn't leave you feeling weighed down after the meal. Vegetarian options abound at this restaurant. They offer egg salad, artichoke, and hummus options for their sandwich platter, but they also have paninis, a veggie burger, salads, etc. And their desserts always look magnificent! Sadly, we did not order one today, but that is not an easy decision. They have a spacious dining area. The front area can seem a little busy, but we always make our way back to the second dining room. Our order was taken promptly, and our food arrived in hardly any time at all. Wonderful service, wonderful food - again, the only thing I could complain about is their limited hours.

I love this place for lunch (well, it's only open for lunch). The food is fresh and wholesome - you can't taste any chemicals in it. They have a variety of soups and salads. I love the protein salad, it is a combination of soy beans, wheat, cheese, and vegetables. The soups are tasty and many of them are vegetarian (no chicken stock). They have a great tomato-mozzarella panini, and a very good veggie burger. I think the name "gourmet deli" is very appropriate.
