Love this place! It's not about flashiness, it's all about the food. Prices are very reasonable and if you can get over the location you'll appreciate what this place has to offer. Try the taco salad and chips with queso. My personal favorite!

I had a milanesa torta... it was OK. I like the decorations, food came out pretty quick. Needed the salsa to be WAY hotter though. Parking lot was a little tight, clean restrooms.

Everyone needs a cheap Mexican place in their neighborhood and Paco's is apparently the one assigned to me. Friendly service, my food was cooked to order, ginormous burrito with everything I specified, cost less than $8.00. I will be back. (Because it is my locally assigned mexican place)

Pacos Tacos location is not the greatest, so I was already skeptical.... but my husband's groupon led us to this place. Although it was small, it was very clean. I had Arroz con pollo, served with corn tortillas. The tortillas, rice, & cheese were great, the chicken quality wasn't the best. My husband got steak nachos... his portion seemed small & the steak quality wasn't that great either. I wished he had more chips... he had more toppings than chips. Plus I needed chips for my giacamole. The guacamole was top notch. Amazing. 75 cents for a nice big 4 oz or better tub of guac. Homemade... delicious. Best part of the experience.

I happened to see this place driving by and thought I would give it a try. They claim authentic Mexican food and I would agree. I've had real home cooked Mexican and it was pretty comparable. I had the steak burrito and the kids had tacos. They said it was the best mexican they've ever had.

Very good! I've been here twice. They have decent guacamole at a good price. Their burritos are good. Had carnitas tacos (they didn't have shredded beef that day) they were very yummy. I also got the pork tamales to go. They weren't bad. Good sized, I'd get them again. I am a little disappointed in the salsa though.. Wish they had more flavor.. I still look forward to eating Pacos tacos again though!

I would really put the set 3 1/2, but I will go back for sure. First things first lets get to the guacamole, it's made right there fresh right in front of you! Bombdotcom. The tacos are authentic and delicious! The chips and salsa were amazing. I would stay away from the steak it was flavored very well but there is lots of fatty pieces mixed in there. Not cool. Had a beef chimichanga choosing which was flavored really well! They've got a couple different drinks that they make there, a grenadine drink and some sort of a cinnamon rice drink, both were excellent. Must have ! If you like rice pudding you'll love it, it was like drinking it.

Great tasting tacos, love the guacamole made from scratch. Authentic Mexican restaurant at a reasonable price.

Amazing food. Came in about 15 minutes before they closed, and was hesitant to eat because I did not want to keep the workers late. They assured me it was OK, and so I ordered a chicken burrito. I have eaten at many Mexican places around all of Indianapolis, and cannot speak highly enough about this place.

This family restaurant takes pride in serving up authentic Mexican dishes for dining in or carry out. Located in a former Taco Bell (also formerly Mr. Dan's) building, they have put their love and flavor into this establishment through beautiful murals on the wall, music playing and imported sweet treats at the counter. My youngest especially loves the Jarrito's flavored drinks. My favorite is the Lorenza salad, complete with chicken, lettace, tomatoes, avocados, black olives, red & bell peppers. We've been several times and try something new each trip!

I was here yesterday on Memorial Day to finally use my groupon for this place. It took a while for someone to acknowledge that there were customers waiting, it was around 12 pm, not sure if they just opened. The food we ordered was ready fast! We didn't have to wait long for our order. I love tacos, so every Mexican restaurant I go too, tacos are my go to food. I got one carne asada, one al pastor, and one carnitas. Carne asada and Carnitas were delicious and the al pastor was spicy pork flavor. This is my 2nd favorite place for tacos, Carniceria Guanajuato being my first choice. The tacos are similar to tacos i have eaten in Los Angeles and Mexico. Also, ask for lime! It really enhances the tacos. They had self serve red and green squeezable sauce. The green is mild, but the red was smokin hot! It was very good, just because i love spicy. If you don't like spicy stay away. My boyfriend got the steak mexican sandwich. It was very good. It was like eating a taco sandwich. It works somehow. Even though we were full at this point, we still attempted to eat some more and ordered tamales just to try it. We did one of each (chicken and pork) and the tamales were just okay. I think I was probably to full to enjoy the food, but it didn't wow me. It felt too lard overloaded. Overall the food is amazingly good and I am going to attempt to come on Sundays so i can chow down on $1.25 tacos!

Carnita Mexican Sandwhich is delish! Loaded with all kind of tasty goodies and grilled to add the perfect touch. Chips and salsa cooked to order and enough for 2-3 pp. Seriously great food in a quaint little fooler when you drive up.

First time here and the staff was very nice and extremely helpful! Restaurant was very clean and well organized. My food was prepared right in from of me and was ready in no time at all. The was absolutely amazing! I can see this place becoming a regular stop for myself and my roommates! 10/10 would definitely eat here again!

First day in town and hit it up on a whim. A dive that shares space with a carwash space, the food was excellent. We got tacos al pastor with chipotle salsa and a pork tamale. The meat and tortilla/tamale quality were excellent. My only complaint was the price. I figured this would be a $1-1.50 taco place.....but they were $2.50 (or maybe more!). In other words, come to this place to get a great taco or a tamale but not as a mega cheap eat. I think I'd need to drop $15-20 to be full, but then again I'm a big dude......anyway, I got the frequent customer card, so I'm committed to a second try!

Apparently they are not open until 10pm. I showed up at 930 on a Friday and while all the lights were on, the restaurant was closed. I have attempted to visit the place more than once...business hours are open to interpretation.

Second time is a charm for getting tamales. I came before and was disappointed that no tamales were sold that night. But I had the pork tacos, which were great and vowed to be back. I happened to pass by today on an empty stomach, so stopped to try the tamales. Greeted by friendly service again, they were happy to report they did have tamales. I prefer pork tamles, so I ordered two and one chicken. Finally, I had found a pork tamale in indy that held a candle to Chicago! The pork meat was in healthy portion within the mesa. Just yum! I was not too thrilled with the chicken, but it was seasoned well, with some spice to it. But im not usually into chicken tamales if its not with cheese. I just got it to try. Both were large, but for the $2.50 it was a right price for the amount of food you get. Two filled me up without anything else. I overheard the owner talking about upgrade she is making, which sound exciting. I look foward to seeing those changes and eating more yummy pork tamales and tacos in the future! She did ask me if I was enjoying my food, which I stated I was (true), so I appreciated that. Tips: Cash only for the time being. They serve breakfast. I've never seen them open after 10pm, hours are not posted and to be honest, I'm not in the area that much.

Check this place out. Its a hidden little place off of keystone ave. If you like Mexican food, this is the place to visit. I've come here about 6-7 times in the last 30 days just to get a chicken burrito. Their menu has tons of variety, but I just can't get past how delicious their chicken burritos actually are. I'm totally and utterly addicted to the perfect combination of sour cream, beans, rice and chicken on a golden brown tortilla. I find myself craving their food on a weekly basis. Definitely check this hidden gem out. This place should be packed 24/7!

I've driven past this place a MILLION times and never paid much attention to it, never will I make that mistake again. The establishment used to be a Taco Bell but they have completely transformed it into a nice restaurant. It is clean, the food is made to order right before your eyes and their guacamole is to die for! They are very fairly priced, have a diverse menu, and the staff is friendly. For now on whenever I have a craving for Authentic Mexican food they will be one of the first, if not THE very first places that I consider going. 5 stars from me across the board!

They have a good small menu, prices were pretty cheap. i had the Lorenzo salad with chicken. I love that they make the protein to order. the This place is so neat on the inside, so many vibrant colors. Music was fun as well. Staff was very courteous. Will definitely be back.

Often overlooked on the corner of Fall Creek and Keystone Pacos is a nice little spot for some good Mexican food. Family run, it boasts a wonderful made -while -u-watch guacamole. The food is also prepared on a grill that is in plain site. The servings are large and flavorful. inside you'll find Mexican Television playing and a assortment of clients from from the neighborhood!!! The best deal is their $1.25 tacos on Sunday made from your choice of beef chicken chorizo pork and even veggies! ! It's definitely worth the visit!!

Went here for lunch on Cinco De Mayo. First time there even tho I've driven by it bazillions of times. I "ordered" one taco, ONE chicken enchilada, side of rice and beans. My daughter ordered con queso, chips and a chicken quesadilla. Overall we loved the food. The enchilada(S) were great. Best refried beans that Ive had anywhere. Spicy! Queso was good. Chips werent very good. Limp and greasy. MAYBE they were special chips for Cinco since they were red and green?? Anyway, not the end of the world. My daughter said that it was the best quesadilla that she ever had! And we do a LOT of mexican eats Now the downside. Seems like we were "up-sold" for what we wanted to order. I told the order-taker at the counter that i wanted ONE enchilada. Well, i was given a full enchilada meal that came with rice and beans. And then was given another side order of both which was overkill. My daughter ordered her own food---so there would have been no confusing that I myself didnt want 2 orders of sides. The total was $28 just for a quick lunch for 2. Learned my lesson---just make it very clear what you want and leave nothing to chance. All orders are placed at the counter. No atmosphere. Feels like you're still in Mr Dans Hamburger joint! But it doesn't matter. The food was really good! Suggest giving it a try...

By far the best Mexican food I've found in Indianapolis. The restaurant is fairly small but the customer service is on point. The Arroz con pollo was what I ordered and devoured but I also heard the tacos were delicious. And though the location isn't convenient compared to where I live; this will not stop me from returning every time I crave some good Mexican.

This place is the real deal. Flavorful, made before your eyes, fresh as hell. Prices are beyond reasonable, and you'll never leave hungry. Very fast for the quality, and very casual. As a plain white dude, I've felt very out of place in many "authentic" restaurants in town, but never at Pacos. Very friendly and accommodating. Try the 3 tacos al pastor with a touch of red and green sauce. Get that with the chips and fresh guac for an amazing lunch that's fresh to death.

  • Derek S.

I love this place! It started off as a pretty good nearby option, but as they've grown their business they have become my favorite Mexican place in town. The staff is always super friendly and the food is phenomenal. You have to eat here

Some of the best tacos I've had in Indy. They serve generous portions, and the guacamole is homemade to order. Overall, a great little joint worth the stop for lunch or dinner.

If you haven't tried this little gem drop everything you're doing and go right now! I tried it because I was tired of going to all of the same old places and wanted to try something different. And boy am I glad I did! The restaurant is small and has a very colorful Day of the Dead style mural. Part of the kitchen is visible (which is always nice to see) and the staff is very polite and friendly. It is cash only so be prepared! I had the chicken chilaquiles with half salsa verde (medium) and salsa roja (spicy). They come with a fried egg on top which was cooked perfectly. Usually I add some additional salsas to my dishes but this needed NOTHING! No salt, no pepper and no more heat... It was perfect. I had the large plate which came with rice and beans (which were definitely homemade and delicious) and it was enough for 2 people for lunch. My boyfriend had 3 tacos: 1 chicken, 1 al pastor and 1 carnitas. They were huge for the price ($2.25/taco) and he thought they were very delicious. They were fresh, well seasoned and authentic. I highly recommend going here and trying Pacos out. We are excited to go back and try other things on the menu which I am confident will be just as tasty. As in the words of Paco: Stay hungry amigos!

Great food for the price! If you love authentic tacos, you should try it. We each got the three taco meal at $6.50/each and we both got one steak, one carnitas & one chicken. The steak & carnitas were very well seasoned & juicy. The chicken was more plain and a little dry, but still good - probably would get two of one of the others instead. My carnitas taco had a couple huge pieces of fat in it. Luckily I saw them before eating and just pulled them out. Still plenty of meat left (plenty in each taco), but I would recommend looking before you take a bite - would have been really gross to bite into such large pieces of fat. My husband's didn't have any fat in it. No big deal, probably what gives it so much flavor in the cooking process, you just would not want to bite into it. We would definitely go back. We love authentic tacos. My husband was excited to get the Mexican coke with real sugar & I got a sangria. Delish!

Great food. muy auténtico! If you want tacos, burrito, etc. that is as close as you can get to the real thing, then go here. The location is kinda meh...but so are most joints that are good. The food here is not your typical greasy Mexican joint, IMO. It's street fair food from Mexico. They have the basics, so don't go looking for an extensive menu. Definitely worth a try if you're ready to stray from the mundane usual spots!

As I sit here eating my carne asada torta I confirmed for the third time that this place is good. Had steak and chicken tacos last time. Definitely go for lunch or pick up dinner on the way home from work. They speak English and take credit card so don't be scared to try it.

Phenomenal Authentic Mexican burritos and tacos. I eat at many restaurants in the city for work.. and enjoy Mexican food. I used to think my favorite Mexican food spot was on the west side, El Pastorcito but I like this one much more. They have an awesome amount of Salsa's to try.. some that are very hot.. which I like.. Check this place out.. you'll be happy you did.

I love Pacos, I really do. Their tacos are delicious and reasonably priced. Other highlights include tortas, tamales, and good queso. The only reason for the four stars is because they often mess up the order for takeout. Tonight they forgot the chips, last time they gave me the wrong type of tacos, etc. So, the mistakes are minor but it can quickly send you to bummer town. My advice is to always check your takeout order before you leave!

Located at the SW corner of 44th and Keystone. Enter via 44th Street. If the small parking lot North of the building is full, there are some parking spaces East of the building as you head to the car wash from 44th Street. Open 10am to 10pm, Mon thru Sat. Closed Sun. Like the previous reviewer said, VERY FRESH ingredients. I got to choose what all went into my burrito. The chicken was grilled to order, and was not sitting around. It was served in a little plastic basket with a paper liner. Order and pay at the counter, and they call you up when your order is ready. Self-serve plastic utensils, straws, and napkins. Bottles and cans of soda are in a self-serve cooler. Two kinds of creamy style salsa came with my burrito, in little plastic tubs. The green one was very good. The orange one was so bitingly spicey, EXCEEDINGLY HOT HOT HOT, and I used too much, that it overpowered my tongue, and took a while for the burn to wear off. So use it SPARINGLY, just one tiny drop per large mouthful would be sufficient to experience its effects. Very clean dining area, and clean unisex restroom. There's a tv behind the counter, but too small to really watch. Decor is nothing special, but at least the paint job was professional, and not a slap-dash job that you often see in hole-in-the-wall places. Run by a cute young hispanic couple, and at least the wife is fluent in English. Opened about three months ago, they said. Prices are very good considering the quality of food. They also serve breakfast, but don't open until 10 am, according to the sign. Hopefully, this place will do well because I can't think of any other Mexican places in the vicinity. If you're within a few minutes drive from here around meal-time, this is a worthy place to get lunch or supper. If you were thinking of eating at the Qdoba at 74th and Keystone, come down here! As you exit, if you need to turn left (North) onto Keystone from 44th Street, look to your left... the pedestrian crossing signal has a countdown timer, letting you know when the light will change. It's a long light, and you might have to wait up to a minute to get a green light to turn North onto Keystone.

Paco's is a tiny little place across the street from Grady's Champion Deli, in a building that I think used to be Mr. Dan's Hamburgers. The lot north of the building is also tiny, holding maybe eight cars if everyone parks carefully (they may have space south of the building as well). I was introduced to their food at work; I'm not sure if they were promoting themselves to nearby businesses or someone had over-ordered for a meeting, but I got the first tamale of my life along with some tomatillo salsa that was not, as I'd thought, guacamole. Surprise! Yesterday I stopped for a chicken enchilada plate on my way downtown; besides the enchilada and cheese sauce, it came with refried beans and seasoned rice with corn. I don't know anything about Mexican or Central American food, but this is made fresh (there were tomatillos simmering on the stove while I was there) and hot right in front of you, and I find it tasty. Their menu is pretty limited, but I think this is a virtue considering how brand-new they are and the size of their space. I'm definitely going to go back to try their other items and maybe get some more of that salsa.

Fresh and authentic!! My husband and I went here for dinner. I had planned to order a tamale, but when I saw how amazing the tacos looked, I couldn't resist ordering them instead. As good as they looked, they tasted even better than I had hoped for. Being from California, I've had a lot of great tacos and these were among the best I've had. I had one veggie and two carnitas tacos. So yummy. All the ingredients, from the pico de gallo to the carnitas to the veggies to the homemade corn tortillas were delicious. My husband ordered the burrito grand with beef. It was huge! He says it was tasty and that the quacamole was the best he's ever had at any restaurant. Also, I was happy to find they had horchata to drink - yum. We live about an hour away and come to to Indy about twice a month. We will definitely be back! We are counting on the residents of Indianapolis to keep this gem open and thriving!

Awesome Tacos! The tacos big too. They make Labambas' tacos seem extra small. Great variety of salsas and good prices too.

OK so me and a buddy tried this place the other day. I was going off the reviews here and it sounded authentic. It probably is pretty authentic but was a total disaster otherwise. We got there at 6pm and they were out of nearly everthing. She said they had a large hispanic lunch crowd. Whatever. They have multiple salsas and were out of about half of them, they were out of shredded beef and something else i cant remember. We wanted to try the corn salsa and they gave us a little to try in a cup and my buddy tried a bite before i could get sat down and i sit down, put a big glob on my rice (by the way the beens and rice come in very tiny styrofoam things) and just, i mean just as im about to take a bite with my rice she says "No thats not good dont eat that". Huh? "No its no longer good" or something to that effect. Well, my buddy had already taken a bite so there goes that. Hope he made it through the night ok. She replaced my rice thankfully. The flavors were ok but really, i could go to any of my favorite American mexican places and get just as good a meal, honestly. The place is small and there were a ton of landscapers hanging around doing various yardwork around the building. As far as i could tell, only the girl behind the counter speaks english, not the cook or anyone else. Just too scary an experience for me to come back when i could go where its just more all around comfortable and safe. lol.

This place is dangerously close to my house. It's a very unassuming place that has excellent tacos. I love their creamy green salsa! And the pineapple water is delicious!

We got carryout from Paco's last night and it was a disaster. I ordered the enchiladas with sour cream sauce. I got two enchiladas covered in queso (not what I ordered), and by the time we got home (5 minutes later) the queso was already hardened. Needless to say, the meal was not good. My boyfriend ordered a burrito bowl, which was much better than my meal, but it had cheese in it when he specifically asked for no cheese. The ingredients did look fresh and it was a good sized bowl. Unfortunately, the next morning my boyfriend woke up with food poisoning. Needless to say, we won't be going back.

I have to preface this review by admitting I'm a snob. I like good things, nice things, high class things. Forgive me. Anyway, I have a long-standing rule that I will not eat at any establishment that is connected to (or inside) a gas station. By extension, I assumed that restaurants next to car washes would also be off my menu. Paco's falls into this extension of my forbidden categories, and I hadn't dropped by, despite driving by it regularly. Yesterday, that all changed. I allowed myself to be convinced to try Paco's, despite the aforementioned carwash caveat. Wow, am I glad I did, and I'm happy eat my proverbial hat (sombrero?) in this case. Paco's really is fantastic and a top Mexican choice in the city. Please don't let the car wash throw you off. The interior is sparkling clean. The prices were great, and the food is as authentic Mexican as you'll get in the midwest. I had a carnitas burrito, which was great! Really, a burrito is enough for two meals, but I pigged out and ate the whole thing. (I'm wildly curious to see what a "super burrito" is, as listed on their menu, as a regular burrito is surely enough for anyone I know.) Washed it down with a cold Corona too. We also had some chips with salsa and queso. The queso was especially good. My friends had a variety of tacos and found that the chicken tacos were perhaps their least favorite, but loved everything else. Everyone agreed that we are anxious to return. A woman ordering at the counter raved about the tamales, so that's on my radar for next time. Highly recommended, I'm pleased to say. I'm sorry to all the other car-wash adjacent establishments that I've ignored in the past. Surely my loss. I'm not changing my mind about places in gas stations, but that's only good common sense. ;) Check Paco's out. You'll love it.

This is one of the places I'll go in Indy if I want something super close to an authentic taco. Everything is fresh, the prices are pretty reasonable, the staff is friendly and the last time I went, they had real Mexican Coca-Cola. I was so happy about that! Some people hate it, but I love it. Being at Paco's almost makes me feel like I'm back in Mexico. Almost. You can't go wrong with any of the tacos. They're all yummy. About the guacamole. It's made in front of you and it's quite good! I'm a bit of a guacamole snob, so this made me happy. I'm due for another visit.

Best Mexican food in Indy! Tacos are outstanding! Very affordable, too, so every time family comes in from out of town I come to Paco's to procure our feast! Great for quick dinner out or takeout as well as lunch. Basically I have yet to find a time of the day that's not great for Paco's (yes they serve breakfast... TAMALES!!)

I love the fresh warm chips and salsa and the chorizo tacos. Try the horchata - a delicious cinnamon rice milk drink.

  • Sok L.

For authentic Mexican tacos this is the spot! The service is fast and friendly and they have Mexican coca-cola, so far so good. Here they serve unamericanized tacos, meaning no cheese or sour cream. But fear not the quality of the food is outstanding! I suggest trying different flavors your first time there. I will be going here anytime I have an attack of taco craving!

  • Gordon W.

Steak burrito was decent, but the tacos al pastor were very forgettable. The home-made chips were the best part of the meal. The worst part was a half hour later when nothing agreed with this seasoned Mexican food lover's stomach...sorry Paco, I wanted to love this place!

Delicious tacos. I had carne asada. Meet had great flavor, veggies were fresh. My husband had the pollo taco. Same outcome. Corn tortillas were fresh. Green and red salsa were delicious. Floor was dirty, but there is a lot of snow outside. Food was quick and cheap. A+

From the street Paco's doesn't look like a joint where great food can be found...but don't cheat yourself from a great meal! PARK AND GO IN!! step inside and you will be greeted wih smiles...and then the smells will take over...fresh lime and cilantro...then pork and chicken..beef..simmering in spicy sauces...your eyes are bigger than your stomach...believe me Opt for eating there...we got take out and had to reheat...so pull up a seat and enjoy...it's great to have authentic food on the near northside...our meal was fantastic!

Very solid addition to the mexican food scene. Burritos, tacos, tortas, tamales, etc. I got a carne asada burrito and it was very fresh and not at all greasy. The burrito was also huge. I'm excited to go back & try some of the other offerings.

This place is delicious! My group had guacamole, tamale with chicken and mole sauce, chicken burrito bowl with no queso and a chicken salad. Everything was so fresh, full of flavor and generous portions. I cannot wait to return back. The staff was very helpful in helping us select our menu choices. You could tell the place was good because there were a lot of walk ins from around the area. Must try!!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization.
