While I'm always a bit hesitant to review my chain experiences, the simple truth is that chain restaurants are no less deserving of reviews even if they do tend to lean toward a consistency that can be maddening. If I had any hesitation to review my experience at O'Charley's today, that hesitation went away when I saw its abundance of 1 and 2-star reviews that were quite the opposite of my experience on this Easter holiday. I was meeting a friend for lunch and, to be honest, we tried the nearby Monical's Pizza first but they were closed. So, we decided it was so beautiful that we would ditch the cars and travel across the Glendale parking lot toward O'Charley's. Now then, my silly little self entered the restaurant and spied their overhead sign that reads something along the lines of "Whoever walks through these doors is a friend," though I can't remember the exact wording. I chuckled because, of course, I don't have feet and I don't walk. So, I asked the already friendly hostess if I could still be her friend even though I didn't walk through the door. Yeah, that's the way I am. I could be wrong, but I think we're BFF's now. It was about 1pm and the restaurant was definitely not that crowded, though there was definitely an after church presence going on. My friend and I were taken to a four-top table and greeted by a super friendly server by the name of Jessica with whom I've fallen madly in love (in the most chaste sense, of course!). The layout for O'Charley's is definitely wheelchair friendly with a variety of seating options. The front door, and there's only one set, is rather light and easily workable. For those times when there is a wait, there's a nice lobby area that keeps someone in a wheelchair from feeling overwhelmed. It's a relaxed and pleasing dining atmosphere and, yes, there's a familiarity to it as many O'Charley's locations have a similar decor. O'Charley's has a pretty full menu that includes everything from sandwiches to fish to chicken to burgers to steaks and on and on. While I frequently order a burger, today I opted for one of their $9.99 deals (they have several) - chicken tenders with twisted chips. My friend enjoyed their brunch that goes until 3pm on Sundays. I'm used to your usual chicken tender meal including 3, maybe four if you're lucky, chicken tenders along with a modestly sized order of chips or fries. So, I was honestly not expecting much. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised. There were several chicken tenders of a decent size (I believe it was six) and a plate filled to the brim with the twisted chips. It was a healthy sized meal and a definite good value for the money. The chicken was fresh, well cooked, moist, and tasty. I loved them. The twisted chips were a delightful change of pace and mixed really well with the chicken. I ordered my usual iced tea and it was delicious. Let's talk about Jessica. I think I'd forgotten what it was like to be truly doted over. She was friendly, attentive, perfectly paced, and just added a refreshing spirit to the meal. I not only got my usual iced tea refill, but actually multiple refills and one to go. It was amazing and wonderful. It was even more impressive that the positive service continued even after we'd paid our bill and were lingering. It was one of the best service encounters I've had in quite some time. If O'Charley's could clone her, I can't imagine they'd see a one-star review again. Now then, I'll admit that I tend to be friendly and outgoing with servers. I also think that, at times, my disability relaxes them. I'm not sure why, but I think it's true. I don't know if that was the case with Jessica, but I will also say that I noticed another server serving someone whom I happened to know with an intellectual disability and this server was simply magnificent with him in every moment. Quite honestly, she was more attentive than his staff. There's something about a server who makes a genuine effort to connect on a human level - Jessica did it with my friend and I and this other server did it with this other gentleman. I've been to this location before and, quite honestly, I've had average but never a bad experience. Today, was simply a beautiful experience on a beautiful day and I left O'Charley's feeling well fed and grateful for the relaxing, genuine, and kind service.

So I've never eaten inside this particular O'charley's; I work in the vicinity and I often order to-go. So yesterday I decided to have a lunch date here. So far I've been satisfied with the food. I had not really experienced their service before yesterday. At times when I would ordered to-go I felt like there's no system to how to deal with to-go orders. Normally the host/hostess greets you and brings you to a table before handing the baton over to the waitress. Well the only reason I feel like I knew what to do to pick up a to-go order, is because I've visited a couple times and I now know to go straight the to-go window. So one might say, what's the big deal? Well for a first-timer it could be confusing (with no one to greet you). And it seems like there's never anyone at the hosts station. But anyway.... So they get 3-stars for their food good portion sizes for the price and 1-star for their service. The young lady that served us was not very good. She barely checked on us. It was very annoying.

Too tired to cook, we opted to grab dinner after Z's track meet. This is your standard neighborhood family restaurant with average food. Despite many open tables, the hostess took some time to get us and the family in front of us seated. Service is slow, but there are only a few servers that are handling most of the restaurant. Dirty Martini was awful & sent back and requested a tall Bud Light. Z & I ordered cheeseburgers (mine Med Rare), but they both came out raw in the middle & I had to send them back as well. My dinner consisted of fries and an adult beverage. Things were good second time around, but we took it to go because it was late & everyone else was done with their food and it was past 9pm on a school night. *Update - I didn't take a bite of my burger before we left, but I looked and it was no longer pink so I just asked for a box. I took a bite later after getting home and it was cooked well and was dried out. I told her if raw was their Med Rare, I'd like it Medium instead. My fault for expecting any better from a chain. :(

Out running errands yesterday, my fiancé and I had some extra time to blow before picking up our daughter from school so we stopped at Ocharleys for lunch. We got seated pretty quickly but had to wait for 10-15 min just to get our waiter to come over and speak and take our drink order. Could already tell at this point that our service was going to be horrible, but decided to go ahead and stay. After about 30 minutes our food order was finally took. I had the chicken tenders and curly chips and he had the chicken tacos. While waiting for our food, we had no drink refills and no bread. While looking around the room waiting, I noticed a mother and seemed to be her daughter keep looking at there watches and laughing and looking around for our waiter. They had been done eating since we were seated and still hadn't received their check. Finally, our food came out. My order was completly wrong!!!! So, his food was there and I had to wait for a whole new order. The second time my food came out it was still wrong!!!! Finally, the waiter got the manager and went back and personally fixed my plate. So, by this time we had been there a hour and he was completly done with his food and I had yet to receive anything. The manager ended up bringing me the right food and said he was going to take my food off the bill. So, now awkwardly eating by myself and trying to rush because we were close on time, I didn't even want to eat. Still no refills, no bread, and no sign of our server. I finally wave him down for our check and the manager hadn't took my meal off. So, now I had to wait even longer for him to go find the manager and fix my bill. I was soooooo mad and irritated at this point I just wanted to leave. Once our food was paid for I walked as fast as I could outside. I have never been so unsatisfied with a restaurant in my life. I will never go back to this location. I will make sure that I drive out of my way to go to another location or even another restaurant chain.

I walked into this restaurant earlier today and there was no hostess seating anyone. One of the younger wait staff members came by and stated that someone will be with you shortly. He stated this twice and did not seat anyone. The manger walked by and looked at the number of people coming in and standing at the waiting to be seated, but did not seat anyone. Several servers looked at the number of people and did nothing to help anyone. I went to sit in the bar area and attempted to be seated went the bar tender tells me that I could not sit at the table because no one would be able to serve me. So, no one will sit me at a table and when I try sit myself, I'm told I can't sit there. So I went to MCL and got the best service possible!

We had a gift card and other errands to run, so we stopped in here for lunch. Ordered the prime rib for 2 for lunch ... yeah, I know. It was ok. Not the most tender prime rib but it was passable. You get a crapton of food, which made my husband happy. A side came with the prime rib, plus you get a choice of one of 3 appetizers and, of course, the rolls. I took the majority of my prime rib home. We sat in the bar and the bartender/server was friendly and kept our drinks refilled. I'm a big coleslaw fan but the slaw here was waaay too sweet for me. My husband's mashed potatoes came with bacon and looked tasty.

Went in on a Tuesday evening, the place was not even close to half full, waited 15 minutes for them to get a table for 5 ready. Once we ordered our food, it took more than 40 mins. for it to arrive. Our waitress was very sweet, but that was the only positive. Food was mediocre and the Margarita tasted like lemonade. I would hate to see this place when it's packed!

I have been going to this location for years and it seems to get worse and worse from a service and also from a quality of food perspective. After today, I don't think I'll be heading back. The prime rib seem to have Parmesan cheese on it, my eggs Benedict was poor and I was served a drink that was not what I ordered but was asked if I wanted to buy it anyway.

As stated in a previous review, this chain is comparable to Applebee's, Chili's, or Sizzler. My son ordered the Mac & Cheese with carrots. Carrots were served horizontally sliced and not steamed. I ordered the steak with chicken tenders. My sides were the southern coleslaw and steamed broccoli. The steamed brocolli was over cooked. They were too soft and had a stale after-taste, which comes with over cooking them. Service was mediocre. Food isn't anything to rave about. Overall, I would still comeback for American comfort food.

Basic chain bar and grill restaurant. I'd compare it to Applebee's, Friday's, or Chilli's. That doesn't make it a bad thing but, if you know what you're getting into the menus not bad and the food is more than tolerable. Today my service wasn't too bad. I've never had a bad experience here. Nothing to write home about but overall if you're looking for a quick bite it's a good option between shopping (which is when I usually end up stopping in).

Very slow service. Waited 10 min just for server to stop by. It took 25 min to get my steak & shrimp- which were good- but the side of broccoli was mushy. It took another 15 min to get a replacement side. The restaurant was only about half full. Disappointed.

Had this for dinner tonight and boy it was embarrassing.ordered curbside to go which was a very big mistake. I literally was on hold for 20 minutes so I called on my other line to speak to the manager, when Patrick Gaines got to the phone he told me he apologized but they were busy but he didn't know I had drove up there while holding on the other line so when he said that I was standing in the building which I could clearly see that they were not.after approaching curbside to go and paying for my food from an employee who seemed like she was doing me a favor my order was incomplete.she swore that that was all I ordered so I had to place another order to make my original complete.while standing in the curbside window waiting on the rest of my food I started to look around the kitchen at the cleanliness.oh my God'I had to say a prayer right then.all I can say is just nasty.to make a longer story short service was horrible for takeout and Patrick Gaines lied right in my face but he didn't know it.ocharleys you have definetly lost five good customers behind this and I posted this on facebook ,twitter and instagram because I work to hard to give my money away to a hospitality chain that truly does not care.I'm calling the board of health ........nasty

Typical chain restaurant, every once and again you get a excellent server every once and every so often you get just a ok server. The food is pretty consistent and O Charleys rolls are always awesome!

Maybe 2-3 times a year, I reconcile my red meat craving, dislike for chains, and cheap budget to visit O'Charley's and order the Louisiana sirloin medium-rare. The sirloin is pretty decent for the price, cooked appropriately per my med-rare request, and rubbed in a generic Cajun seasoning and topped with butter. The portion is so huge that I always have enough leftovers to make killer steak & egg burritos for 2-3 people the next morning. I typically order the loaded potato soap calorie/fat bomb as a side, and add heaps of black pepper and torn-up bits of the buttered rolls. The rolls are addictive, so we typically stick to one basket. My visit to this particular location started off to be not very promising, a potential 2-star experience due to a longer-than-quoted wait and a hoard of screaming children in the waiting area. We were luckily seated away from the hoard in the bar section, and enjoyed some privacy and average service while giving in to my semi-annual craving. O'Charleys is maybe one baby notch better than the comparable TGI-Chili-bees.

Piggy backing off the other review for this place....I don't really compare them to Applebee's, Friday's or Chili's! I think they have a whole different taste than O'Charley's! I went here & I turned back around & ate here again the next day! I took my two favorite friends with me! I love hanging with people in the same camaraderie. .....! I ordered the chicken bruschetta with broccoli casserole for my side, with a house salad & brownie with caramel, toffee, chocolate chips & nuts! I have to say it was sinfully delicious! I love the spring because it brings out the romance in people. So I saw a lot of couples here romanticizing. Although I was by myself & my friends are a married couple, Brandon made it all the better, literally!;) Brandon was the name of the waiter! He really was a true sport. He had a wonderful demeanor & disposition about himself. I will go here again just to have the privilege of being served by him alone! This time I'm going by myself & I think I keep asking for bread, just to see him in my presence! Hey, don't judge me! Ladies if you saw him you'll understand my plight! We also ordered their cheese squares which was a hit! The waiter was very knowledgeable in explaining the menu & the menu choices. I think that O'Charley's everywhere needs to make a bunch of carbon copies of him. For the eye candy of course & for the service too! He actually exceeded all of our expectations. My friend asked to speak to his manager for commendation, that's how good the service was. All & all through & through, I give them a A plus hands down or up! lol! Even on a scale from 1-10 I rate him a 20!!

I can't believe I haven't rated this place before, because I really dislike it. Their menu is limited and not particulary healthy, altough they do have lunch combos which are not bad. But their food and service really suck. If I wanted this type of thing, I'd choose Chili's or even Ruby Tuesday -- but for this location near Broad Ripple and for the same type of food, you are much better off at Union Jack or Binkley's.

Not a favorite place to go because, in my opinion, this restaurant is in the same category as Friday's, Applebee's and Chili's, and I am not a fan of those restaurants either. My dining partner wanted something quick to eat, so this is where we went. From the start service was excellent, the server was very attentive, positive and always had a genuine smile on his face with each encounter. Rolls were hot from the oven on both baskets that we rec'd. I opted for a salad with some ingredients omitted and something to munch on. I wanted tortilla chips and the server was unsure if he could provide them to me, but he did and they were warm and free of charge---even better! The salad was good as well. I just wanted to rant and rave about the service I rec'd, because the server was EXCELLENT for this type of establishment and nowadays good service is hard to come by in all aspects of dining out sometimes. I did tip him $10 on a $24 check. All in all, a rating of 3.5 is appropriate. I just wish the food selections were better.

There's something near and dear to my heart about O'Charley's. Oh yeah - it's the rolls that stick between my lungs and my rib cage. God are those good. This location has always been a great spot to bring a group of friends or a date. I've made friends with several members of their wait staff so it's a friendly atmosphere. The food is consistently good and has contributed well to my overhanging gut. I would definitely suggest this place if your looking to sit down but don't want to get fancy or overpay for anything. And ask for more rolls.

The service here is okay, kind of slow even on a slow day but I love the potatoe soup. They have taken alot of things off the menu that I enjoy so unfortunately this chain is no longer one of my favorites:( either way great location and great for families.

Avoid this place like the plague. Broad ripple is only two miles away for God's sake!

Typical chain restaurant, every once and again you get a excellent server every once and every so often you get just a ok server. The food is pretty consistent and O Charleys rolls are always awesome!
