Favorite place to hang out in Broad Ripple. Prices are right. Good, cheap pizza. They have a jukebox so you can listen to your own music. The garage windows open up so you can enjoy the view of Broad Ripple when it's nice out. It doesn't matter what you like here. Casual place; no judging.

Awwwww yeah the MLB Ticket with volume and, yeah, Shirley Temples on tap! Just another typical OPT experience for a designated driver like myself. I gotta say...I had always been highly standoffish to playing pool late at night in a crowded room like this...and I finally gave it a go. Everyone was cordial. Everyone moved when necessary. I think the Sailors punching and headbutting that headbutt and punch this thing for a dollar machine was a distraction for some folks. Yeah. Whoa, Meat, Whoa. A local sports bar through and through. Taps a bit dirty. Taps a bit flat. Shiner here tastes more like newcastle here and newcastle tastes more like coca cola here. In these large establishments I suggest sticking to the bottled & canned. They have a kitchen? Hmmm...scary. This reminds me...what's up with the bars in Broad Ripple being so large? Really...does anyone know why bar owners feel we would have a proclivity of such an abundance of smoke, striped shirts, cargo shorts with little white socks poking out of everyone's tennies? It's just...so...big...I mean...does Joan Crawford live upstairs and run her own business? I'm just befuddled by the size of places like this. And, then, one stall & a trough? Really. A trough? This is what everyone is okay with? So, everyone's okay with feeling like a heathen? Hell..whatdoIknow..I'm the one ordering Shirley Temples and watching Baseball in Indy.

As far as the less classy end of Broad Ripple bars go, this is certainly a favorite. The space is limited and God forbid you have to get your own drinks at the bar, because you have to knock a lot of folks out of your way to get there. But they have a rockin' juke box and you can usually find a seat pretty easily. The window seats are a treasure and offer a view across the street to the lines of morons waiting in line to have a terrible time at Landsharks. The specials aren't anything to speak of, but this is still one of the best if not one of the only places to get a good game of pool in. In the winter it's a cool place to watch a game and there is something about the fire place that I find warm and comforting. I don't go here as often as I once did, but sometimes I miss it.

Been going here for awhile, and like most b-rip bars these days, this place carries a wide range of age...well, up to your 30s. They just added a new bar in the back which is great, they really needed it. However, it's awfully hard to get to when it's really crowded because it's behind all of the pool tables. There is a great fireplace when you walk in that creates more of a barrier between rooms, but it too is always hard to maneuveur around. All in all, I like to come here because it's never sickly crowded and they always have good music. I tend to see everyone I know in this bar, but you can always escape to another section, if need be :) ** long islands are cheap, but they don't pull all the alcohol that a regular one has in it....bummmmer

Ah, the fabled OPT (vernacular for Old Pro's Table). I say "fabled" because one of my boyfriend's friends came here to sever a two-year relationship. The choice of venue is especially comical, given that the scantily-clad, boozy atmosphere would provide for obviously quick rebound material. Things that are true-to-genre: pool tables, darts, a jukebox, and a full bar. Things that are different: A large, open side for outdoor-esque seating; drinks that are more expensive than they need to be; and the fact that this place isn't a sausage fest--though you will find the "traditional" sportsbar guys here.

It seems to be a trend when I review bars in Broad Ripple. Just a basic sports bar that is great for cheap drinks and a good time. I stick to the weeknights to venture to broad ripple and OPT's. Its clear of the college scene and they do have pretty good tables.

Went to Old Pro's Table this past Saturday after not getting any service at another Broad Ripple establishment. A friend and I figured this was as good a place as any to eat, and we were HUNGRY. Service was prompt. I ordered a Southwest Garden Burger and it was very tasty. It probably could have done without the black beans but I ate them without protest. I thought it was really overpriced though. The burgers come with chips, or for like $1.50 you can substitute fries. I took the chance on the fries. For $1.50 I think the fries should be something more than crinkle cut frozen fries. Basically after a burger, fries, and ONE beer it was almost $20 for my meal after tip. It's good but I could have had a steak dinner at Texas Roadhouse for that price. I had a veggie burger and fries for crying out loud. The little fireplace in the middle of the room is pretty neat and it's clearly a bar geared to the sports fan crowd. However the bathroom stalls are SMALL. I sat on the toilet and my shoes were sticking out from under the door. I'm 5'8" so it's not like I'm unusually tall for a woman. If my knees bump the door when I close it the stall's too small. The food was good, but overall it's wasn't worth the price. I probably won't eat here again.

What can I say about this Broadripple Staple? Dingy, Dark, Loud and full of 20-somethings doing shots. What else do you expect in Broadripple. No specials really, and food is mediocre as you'd expect in a college type bar. For a place named Old Pro's Tables, you'd think more pool tables would be available, but there aren't. Good luck ever getting a table here. :( Of all the options in Broadripple to grab a drink, this does not rank high up on my list. I feel that most people come here out of the nostalgia from when they were younger coming to Broadripple as well as the younger crowd trying the place out to do a shot and then moving on.

A few of us stopped in here after riding our bikes on a trip that was originally scheduled, then cancelled, and re-scheduled under different terms and times. We had ridden from downtown to 86th Street, and were on our way back when we decided a beer sounded good. Since we were going through Broadripple, we figured we might as well stop and find a beverage to quench our thirst. Our first destination decided not to open on Memorial Day, so we locked the bikes and took off on foot through the streets of Broadripple in search of a place where we could be inside yet be near an open area so it made us THINK we were outside. We also wanted something not packed, and our search led us to OPT. Thankfully they had opened only 20 minutes earlier and only the usuals were at the bar, so we got in and grabbed a great seat. Within a couple of seconds, our bartender came up, took our orders, and came back with the refreshing drink we so desperately needed (and water for good measure!) I'm sure this place gets crazy on weekend evenings, but it was a nice spot to relax and cool off as we continued our ride back downtown. It wasn't loud, there were multiples TV's in every direction, and the bartender kept our waters filled and made sure we were okay. In my opionion, that's not too shabby.

I've wound up at OPT twice on nights out in Broad Ripple. I'm a bigger fan of the cozy fireplace than I am of the craft beer selection. Still, since I'm not a young twentysomething fresh out of college I would rather hang out here for beer and conversation than I would at a neighboring sweaty, dingy, wannabe club.

I like OPT. It could best be compared to Average Joe's or Broad Ripple Tavern in the world of Broad Ripple bars. I'd say I find myself here more often after work during the week or earlier in the day on a Saturday than I do late at night on a weekend, but it is a great place to go grab a beer or two and watch some sports in a more chill spot than some of the surrounding options. This is a pretty large place with a few different areas inside. They have the main bar with a dozen or more barstools and a scattering of TVs all around the room. There are quite a few tables in this area also, along with a neat fireplace thing that has seating around it. There is another room that has more tables along with a long drink ledge that you can sit at in front of huge windows that open up to Broad Ripple Avenue on nicer days. It's a nice spot to go do some people watching and get some fresh air. There are a couple TVs in this area, but it's not the best place to come watch anything. Finally, there is the second bar in the back which is where the games section is located. This area has some high top tables to sit at and a decent sized bar, but mostly contains the pool tables along with a few other games like a couple Golden Tees and a Big Buck Hunter. This second bar also has a bunch of TVs around it to keep up with sports on. They always have drink specials, and usually some pretty good ones during the week that involve cheap domestics and well drinks along with a scattering of better liquors or shot specials. This is predominantly a place to come get cheap beers and shots, but they do have a handful of taps that they keep some decent local beers on along with a few good craft offerings. I have never actually eaten anything here, but they do have the typical bar food offerings. I know a couple of the other places on B-Rip Ave have free pool nights, but I am not sure I have ever seen that advertised here. Their bathrooms are pretty rough, and are much more indicative of a late night party place than the lower key vibe that the rest of the bar has. I don't make my way here too often late on a weekend night because it ends up just being a big room where people stand around being crowded and struggling to order drinks at the bar. If I'm going to deal with that, I'm probably going to go to a place that at least has dancing and fun music. Although, I'd be lying if I said there weren't times that I came in here late at night and found a table that I could sit down at, so it might be worth checking for. The short of it is that this is a nice sized sports bar and is a nice lower key place to come chat with friends, watch some sports, and have a few beers after work or during the day on the weekend. Friday and Saturday night it turns into a crowded bar that really doesn't have a lot of draw other than a place to yell over the crowd and stand around watching other people do the same, although that pretty much describes every Broad Ripple bar after 10:00 on the weekend anyway.

It's a pub. The fireplace is nice, the pool tables are nice and the beer and liquor selection is nothing out of the ordinary, but completely adequate. The food is not that great. We ordered soft pretzels and they were deep fried (or at least they tasted like it) and the bbq chicken pizza was not good. The chicken tasted like someone opened a can of chicken, sprinkled it with oregano and then let it sit out for half the day. All that said, it's a fine place to hang out and have a beer. The music and/or sports isn't so loud that you can't talk and there are plenty of TV's to watch the Hoosiers play.

Free admission into a sports bar. And in Broad Ripple. Of course, be sure to bring your identification. Fire pit near the entry. Over 15 big screen TVs showing many different sports. Beware of the parking meters in the front but I found free street parking. Save that change for the pool tables. Oh, I went there to see Pub Theology. Random act of kindness theme. They put on a form of The Bachelorette (in light of the love month). What a show!

Great laid back place to play pool, do late night trivia, and drink some cheap beers. The food is actually pretty good for pub fair- tenderloins, chicken strips, the standard fair but tasty when you're drunk. It gets pretty crowded but there's a nice fire in the winter and a big window to watch the debauchery stroll by.

This is more of a chill spot or pregame bar on weekends. Great to get a drink and sit on the patio and people watch. Good drink specials and fun games as well.

My best friend is a regular at OPT's, so I invariably have a few drinks there when I'm visiting Indianapolis. The bar stools next to the open windows are a plus on a nice afternoon, as is the fireplace in the middle of the bar on a rainy or snowy night. The food is typical of what you'd expect from a sport's bar. A juke box, some pool tables, and TVs make OPT's a good spot for dancing, hanging with a group, or just watching a game at the bar. All the bartenders I've met through the years have been super nice, but I guess that's to be expected when you're with a regular. All in all, a decent place for shots or beers. My only complaint is the women's room...too small and kinda gross.

Broad Ripple, you're letting me down. Here's the deal, I basically went here after not getting any service at Broad Ripple Tavern. I was in a hurry, and I needed some food and some booze to fuel me up for the night. Pros: -Service was prompt and super-friendly. Our waitress was really nice and personable and I liked her. -BBQ burger was baaangin'. I was really hungry, and it was really awesome. Cons: Here we move away from executive format and move into more of a civilized fashion because I have a lot to say. I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY! For a $2 upcharge you can add fries to your burger instead of the chips that come standard. I did it. I like fries, I had deuce bucks, so I decided to go big or go home. I wish I had just gone home. I got frozen crinkle cut fries that were a little overcooked. Not baller status, Old Pro's. Not ballin' at all. I asked if they had any Magners or Strongbow on tap and they did not, nor did they have any in bottles or cans. I ended up with a woodchuck-in a bottle-for $5.50. I repeat: A BOTTLE of woodchuck was $5.50. let that sink in for a minute and be as sad as I was. In the end, a burger, fries, and BOTTLE of cider cost $20 after a 15% tip. At the end of the meal my friend and I both went to the restroom. The restrooms are hilarious and awful all combined into one horrific little package. On the walls is an old Corona advertisement that is peeling and coming off. Not exactly the latitude I feel like staring at. I'm 5'7" and my friend is 5'8". We sat down in neighboring stalls to pee and both noticed that our knees were touching the door and our feet were sticking out under it. We're taller than the average woman, this is true...but we are not behemoth amazonian mountain women. Our knees should be touching nothing. It was so weird! Then when she went to flush there was no handle. When we got out to wash our hands, her flusher was on the countertop. Dude....what the hell is that about? tl'dr version: dive bar with fire pit in middle, creepy old men slinking around. Burger good. Fries expensive and taste bad. Woodchuck in bottle and overpriced. Bathrooms hilariously awful. My burger, fries and cider were $20 after 15% tip. overpriced dive bar. does not compute. So I won't be going back.

This is a bar. It has people in it. There is booze and OK beer. It's about as exciting as this review. I think the reason I don't really care for this place is why the people that like it, like it. If you're looking for the trendy, college equivalent of a "dive bar", you're almost there. It's not dirty like a dive bar, but it has kitchy games around the building, like a how hard can you punch boxing game. I might consider returning here if they buy a "how hard can you kick", donkey simulation game.

I feel very "meh" about this bar, and I really can't put my finger on why. They have several pool tables, and two bars in two different rooms, so if watching dudes play pool isn't your thing, you can sit in the other room. They also have...and i'm not making this up...a boxing video game where an honest to god punching bag drops out of the top and guys with too much machismo go to town on it. It was a bit bizarre and distracting. Truthfully, it kind of made me want to start a fight. I had a mixed drink, and it was pretty standard, but they did have some seasonal craft beers on draft (my husband was very excited to drink his first Oberon of the summer). It's an alright place, no huge complaints, I think it's just not my scene.

I've been unintentionally avoiding this bar for a while now. Not that it seemed bad or anything, it just didn't seem like my crowd of people would be drinking there. Finally going with a group of friends, I did however enjoy myself. I was right about the people--party bros and broettes drinking Bud Lite and such--but overall it was fine and nothing terrible happened. They have pool, a really neat indoor fireplace for when it's colder, and decent drink specials on the weekends. I believe there were $3.50 wells available and $4 20oz domestic beers on Fridays and Saturdays and a tad bit cheaper on Sundays. Monday through Thursday is even better with $2 wells and cheaper beers. They serve food also, but I've yet to try it. I'm sure it's reasonably priced and decently tasty. I guess don't judge a book by its cover.

This place used to be my favorite place to go, now however, Im finding it more and more lame. Maybe its becasue Im growing up, but its just way different. Not really the place to go if you want to watch a game but more of a place to go if you just want to chill. It ends up being my after hours hangout more often than not.

Old Pro's Table (OPT's) was the first bar I went to in Broad Ripple, so it has always been a sentimental favorite of mine. However, much has happen in the 10 years since my first visit. Two different presidents, three different governors, Angelina Jolie going from being psycho with Billy Bob Thorton to breaking up Brad and Jennifer to becoming "Bradgelina"...man, how time flies! Where was I? Oh yeah, 10 years has passed and like many things, my tastes have changed. My watering holes of choice are less like the college bars of my youth, and more "adult". However, no matter how old I should age, Old Pro's Table will always be a favorite. Like others have commented, OPT's has pool tables, Golden Tee, the boxing bag game thing that I have never known the name of, and pretty decent drink specials. If you ask me, OPT's true "x factor" is the fireplace! Where else can you run the risk of being set ablaze by an open indoor fire pit?!?!. If you're a visitor to Broad Ripple, and are under the age of 25, you'll LOVE this bar. If you're older, I can make no promises but I still recommend stopping by.

Oh, Old Pro, how I'll always remember you as the start to my last night in Indiana. It was midnight, and we were ready to pass out after watching Indiana Jones at the Museum of Art. But was the movie enough to end our three-day visit to our college buddy who moved out here? A big, fat no. The Old Pro wasn't kickin' on a Sunday night, but it was decent and the red bull vodkas got us going. It looks like a place where the floors should be grossly sticky, but surprisingly, it wasn't. We even had friendly games of pool with strangers (Indianapolis is so nice!) and exchanged Game of Thrones-nerdy talk. Overall, good place to start the night for bar hopping in Broad Ripple!

Five stars based on customer service. I left very valuable glasses there on a Saturday bar crawl. How many bars can you trust their employees to use a lost and found and not just keep things?! They held on to them for days until I finally called to ask if they had turned up. Sure they can use a face-lift, but they've earned my business. Great atmosphere with the fireplace in the winter as well!

It's not the decor, the pool tables, jukebox, or televised sports that keep us coming back to this sports bar located in the center of the Broad Ripple strip; it's the location. OPTs has become our favorite summertime hang out for happy hour on Friday evenings. We love heading out after a long week, sitting at a table by the windows, enjoying an IPA or Oberon off the tap, and watching the traffic go by. Since we are usually there pretty early in the evening, there are always plenty of tables available, plenty of close parking, and the servers are attentive. A nice alternative to Chumley's, which is located across the street and usually packed. The food is good, but not a drawing point. Although we sometimes eat while we're there, we don't go to OPT "for the food." They have a good variety of sandwiches, burgers, apps, and pizza, and we have always been pleased with our choices. To be honest, the bar is pretty average and nothing special, but there's comfort in that for me. It helps getting through a stressful work week knowing that Friday will come and I will be plopping down at my favorite table and watching my worries drift away with the passing traffic.

I love this place! It is dark and smoky and has a fun vibe. Very much a college bar. Waiters and bartenders are friendly, but there's always a crush to get drinks. The punching game in the back is great.

The bathroom sucks. I feel like I'm at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway when I'm taking a leak. No door on the stall either... just a bit of privacy please? That's my worst complaint. I guess the food is a bit pricey. Not exorbitant, but just a touch more than I want to pay for a burger. The quality of the food is decent though. I give them props for introducing me to sriracha hot sauce which they'll bring out with their pizza or upon request. Soooo good. I've been addicted ever since. All the sandwiches I've had have been good. I often prefer to just get chips and queso and whatever IPA they have on draft. They usually have at least one hoppy selection with a couple other choices for those wanting something more than Coors Light. Go the domestic route if you want to drink cheaply, though. The service is pretty good, although they rarely seem to know what they have on draft. My favorite things about this bar are that its rarely ever crowded, and its the best place to people watch on the Broad Ripple strip. I never stay here later than 8pm or so as Broad Ripple isn't my scene much past that time so i can't comment on what this place is like during the later hours. But for a 30 something year old guy who just wants a beer after work and to have a conversation with friends while making fun of passersby, this place is perfect.

this has become my favorite Broad Ripple "sports bar." since the aesthetic renovations there's really nothing bad about this bar at all. a little something for everyone. sports on the tv's, beers on tap, pool tables, nice sized tables for groups to sit and hang and everyone i've ever encountered that works there has been very friendly and helpful. this is the anti-Brothers. will continue to frequent for a long time to come.
