We stopped in to try this new place we had heard about. We both ordered the brisket and sides with fountain drinks. The place is spotless ad spacious. The kitchen is clean and in view of the dining area. The owners were on hand to greet and welcome us. Nicest people ever. Jim explained about his smokers and the history behind J $ M. Our food came quickly. we had heard about the Brisket here and it lived up to its reputation! the Brisket is hand sliced. I watched the cook slice it. It was thick and juicey and melts in your mouth tender. Pick your own sauce too! from mild to Volcano hot. Great sides and desserts too! We are going back on the weekend for the Live Music and the rib tips. You have got to try this place. I hear they will be getting their Beer and Wine license too. Good Luck to you folks. Great food and reasonable price.

First, I really wanted to like this place. A family starting a new restaurant is a great story. Between two people we ordered two brisket sandwiches with beans, an order of wings and smokebombs. The wings have a great smoke flavor but were microwaved and previously smoking days earlier. I actually saw the cook take them out of the microwave. The 5 wings were very, very small but that is a minor complaint compared to the microwave abuse. The smokebombs are their creation so they may have tasted like the owner wanted, but again microwaved (did not see these come out but tasted like they were). The brisket sandwich is small but reasonably priced. The brisket was the worst I have ever had. There was a smoke ring but again not smoked recently. Not sure how they reheated the meat because it was grey and flavorless. The meat does not lay flat as brisket does after being cut but was crinkled. Unlike any brisket I have ever seen. Looked like the meat in a bad Italian beef sandwich. It appeared to have been cut thin after being smoked then put in the fridge or freezer and then reheated aggressively. I could not bite through some pieces. This was the only time I wish I took pictures because it looked worse than I can describe in print. Help was very nice. I was not going to write this but then I thought about being served what any cook knows is poor food and figured if they do not want the review he should not have served it or prepared it that way. From their website, the owners know what good bbq is but decide to service what they serve. Insult to injury, $16.50 for each of us without drink.

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for some lunch. The place was spotless and the owners/employees were busy but very friendly and attentive. My son and I had the smoke bombs. Wow! If you like spicy and smokey you gotta try them. We both had an order of rib tips on the servers recommendation. They were very good but messy. Just like they are supposed to be. This is a local family owned place not some franchise. I was very impressed and will be back.

Everything was delicious! It definitely had the feel of a family owned shop. Some bbq aficionados may not like it because it does not taste like Memphis or KC bbq, but I like it because they have their own unique taste and flavor, and they do it well. They are great for lunch.

We were excited to try this place as it's just around the corner and we like to support local restaurants. we ordered pulled pork, brisket, 1/2 slab of ribs and corn bread. While it was a small serving and we hoped to order a family portion, the corn bread was delicious! But the ribs were tough and seemed like they were from an old pig. My dad had to put them in the oven to get them more tender. The brisket and pulled pork didn't have any flavor and didn't seem like they were smoked. We were very disappointed. We hope that this is some constructive criticism because we love to support our neighborhood establishments.

Driving by and saw a new bbq spot and stopped with a friend. Service was good and they seemed to be proud of the food. Unfortunately I wasn't impressed with anything. We ordered the pork nachos which weren't terrible but they did not layer the nachos so everything was on top and the pork which should shine here wasn't anything special. After eating the top ingredients we were left with an expensive basket of chips. My friend got the THE BIG BAD WOLF which the owner was really excited about lol in a good way but we asked what it was and they said ground beef and our "world" famous mac and cheese. It came out more like a hamburger patty inside a tortilla which is kinda awkward to eat and Id recommend just using seasoned ground beef. I ordered a brisket sandwich and "world famous" mac and cheese. Brisket was not flavorful and pretty dry. What is up with all these bbq places not having unbelievable meat? Anyways wasn't thrilled about it. The Mac and cheese taste like my mom made when I was little covered in a creamy velveeta milky cheese sauce. This however is not what I'd call world famous and not the typical Mac and cheese I want as adult. I'd recommend using a more roux based baked mac and cheese that is more common to bbq and comfort food.

I am not a BBQ connoisseur, I just like what I like. That being said, I liked the food at J&M's. When I visited this establishment, the brisket was very tender, the pulled pork was moist and delicious, the order was easy to place over the phone, and the lady at the counter was very pleasant. I don't know anything about smoke rings or any other BBQ cooking terms, but I do know I will be back. I will give a few nitpick critiques for informative purposes only. The smokebombs are good, but the ones I ordered did not have any volcano sauce to speak of, but this can easily be remedied by dipping them in said sauce. Also, all the seeds had been removed, so they were very mild. They were still good, but too mild for my personal taste. The greens had more meat than greens. Still very good, but I ordered greens, not meat with greens for garnish lol. Lastly, it is a tad expensive, but then all BBQ in this area seems to be expensive. I have a recommendation on the sauce. The hottest sauce has a nice bite, but it lacked a little zing for my taste. I ended up mixing the hottest sauce with their mustard based sauce (volcano + good stuff), and the result was fantastic. I got the heat and the zing I wanted.

Some of the most tender smoked BBQ we've ever had. The "Sassy Mild" BBQ sauce is the best sauce I've ever had. Atmosphere is new, clean, but boring; but they will have live music this Friday night.

Went for lunch with a couple guys from work. The sampler platter was the way to go. The pulled pork was my favorite. The service was friendly. I would stop by again if I was on that side of town.
