My wife and I tend towards locally owned restaurants. Yet, there some chains that we patronize for a few of them, and Denny's is one of them. For me, Denny's is a part of my past. As a traveling entertainer, I've had countless late night meals while on the road, after a show. The food, while never 5 star gourmet, is always solid. The service, I've always found to be friendly in a down home sort of way, even in the big city. For me, it's not only comfort food, but comfort experience. This particular Denny's in located on one of the busiest stretches of road in Indy, but it's a nice haven to sit, enjoy a meal, and people watch. Service is good at this location, and, I gotta say...Denny's has one fine burger. Nothing fancy...just a burger iike mom used to make. Yeah, I'm a fan.

One star is for Dennys food ELSEWHERE. Waitress spilled coffee and then acted like it was my fault. Food came out cold. I ordered a salad that never came. When I asked where my salad was, the waitress's answer was "uh, I don't know. You still even want it?" NO REFILLS were offered of any kind. After 45 minutes of my life I will never get back, I asked to talk with the manager. The smart attitude waitress told me , "that manager don't work here no more." Shift change I guess. I then explained the problem with the newly hired manager(HA!) and he said he could not refund my money however he would pay for the entire meal on the next visit. I did appreciate that. Here's the problem. I DONT WANT TO GO BACK! I understand that It can be a difficult business with food. I always tip well and can appreciate someone who really makes an effort. However, this Dennys is the WORST Dennys I have every experienced. I will travel to other Dennys here in Marion county, just not this one.

Read the reviews before trying this place!! The ONE star ones are ALL TRUE!!!! My family visited here at 12:30am for a late/early breakfast. Mind you....we had a large part of people. However, that doesn't mean it's okay to not see a waiter for 20 minutes. It's not permissible to not get menus within the first 30 minutes you are there. It's not OKAY to not bring you drinks within 10 minutes after the waiter takes your order. You might think that we went at a bad time to get this POOR level of service. There was one large party that just got their food and a couple small tables that came in after we did. There were 3 waiters on staff. No manager to be seen. The group didn't work together to help each other out. The other two waiters just watched our waiter flounder. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!

This Denny's is a hit & miss, depending on who's on staff that day. We would go once or twice a month and sometimes the service and food is excellent, sometimes not. I'm giving it 4 stars because when it's good, it's pretty awesome. The wifi doesn't really work.

Enjoyed brunch with my bestie here. I had "The Thing Burger" which was very savory and filling; it is by far the best burger I have ever eaten. Our server Amber was courteous and very attentive.

Waitress polite Kitchen screwed up first order of eggs and hash browns were mushy with burnt edges. They replaced the eggs and those were good. Didn't mention the hash browns as we didn't want the second attempt. In all, ok. Still weird we were the only customers.

Walked in to eat at 1am. Stood at the counter for four minutes before anyone said anything to us. To top it off, the host had the nerve to say after he was about to seat us that the cook said the wait would be really long because there's only one tonight. We walked out, as well as the other people behind us.

Complete fail from start to finish! Took several minutes to get a server. We were ready to order, so we asked the server to take our food order at the same time as our drink order. The restaurant wasn't busy at all and there were at least 2 servers plus someone checking ketchup, sugar, etc. at the tables. We hoped that would mean good service, but we were sadly mistaken! Our food took over 35 minutes - for chicken fingers, fish, and a sandwich! None of it was very tasty or very warm. The macaroni and cheese had separated into a rather unappetizing mess. The server dumped part of my fish and shrimp onto my placemat when he set it down. Didn't even apologize. Just wrong. When there are so many places to eat, why waste money here?

This is the last and final time we will ever try this location. Worst service in the whole wide world from start to finish and it has been the same every year and every time for five years. We keep thinking that the next time might be better. They have a great menu. That's about it. All we expect is a little common courtesy. Maybe an acknowledgement that we are even inside the building. Maybe a little Hello. Maybe a waitress that can take a simple order and not mess it up. Maybe being able to get a second cup of coffee or a water refill. Maybe being able to get a check in a timely manner without errors. Maybe a little thank you for your business????? Nope. Not here. Not once. We are done forever. There are lots of restaurants that care about their customers. Without us they don't exist. Seems like a simple concept. I don't know how this Denny 's stays in business!

::Ghost Server:: Worst service ever. Waited over an hour to place just our drink order!! We Asked several times for soda refills which had to be asked to 3 different servers. They all seemed to forget what was asked of them. They could've done better knowing it was a holiday and they would've expected a lot of customers. My food was cold once it finally arrived. We're currently waiting for the check that's been asked for to 3 different people. They all seem to be all over the place yet not accomplishing anything at all. We patiently waited and waited and W. A. I. T. E. D .......... We over heard one server ask "Did they leave a tip?" ROFL!!!! Our check never made it to our hands!! Clearly there were a lot of unhappy customers complaining about their service. Supervisor redeemed himself by saying: "It's Christmas!" Im sorry but it being such holiday, is no excuse for this kind of service. Hostess asked who our server was when we finally got her attention for the check ...... Mmmmmm lets see Server 1: Took about an hour to get our Drinks Server 2: Took about 30 minutes to come and take our food order. Hostess: Never brought refills Back to server 1: who asked if we had ordered already..... I would go on but according to YELP my review is pretty EPIC ..... All this to say GET IT TOGETHER DENNYS P.S THAT STAR UP THERE IS ONLY SO I CAN BE ABLE TO POST MY REVIEW..... IJS!

Service here is superb. The food could use improvement. It is greasy, sloppy, and sometimes burnt. Seriously who burns bacon? It's simply not as good as the Denny's in Castleton.

Fast and lots of space. We, too, had Amber as a waitress (I almost never look at a name tag unless the service is incredibly good or bad. She was great. Friendly, knowledgeable, and didn't roll an eye at my weird food allergies. She even got the kitchen to make me a Cobb salad with spinach instead of lettuce. Great salad, by the way! The tables could have used bussing, but it was the middle of the day, and they were clean by the time we left. Service, five stars. Food and general cleanliness four stars. Speed and accuracy on custom order: five stars. Very nice.

Quick, easy, cheap. Yes the service can be spotty; but we had Amber as a waitress and she did a great job. The food is decent and resonably priced. Amber took care of my daughter and I. She brought my daughters meal out before mine; which was perfect so it could cool off and I could cut it up. It's a Denny's, so don't set your standards too high. Just good food and cheap!
