Very cute little place and the best part was the food was delicious! I had never heard of saba fish before but upon the waitress' recommendation, my father and I ordered it. It was very fresh, hot and so delicious! I also had the macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy and cornbread. It was all very delicious and on point! We were visiting from out of town and had a craving for soul food and they did not disappoint! Very happy we found this place!

Poor service. Bad quality chicken. Simply rude and not worth the southern fare chicken. I've had so much better.

It is so easy to drive past this small southern/soul food restaurant. It's located between Speedway Gas and Rudy's car repair by the train overpass. Note the hours if you've never been before. They are only open till 5:00 pm Wednesday thru Sunday so if you plan on picking up dinner, leave work early or pick up at lunch time. Many items are sold out by 4:00 so plan ahead. This isn't fast food so you will have a small wait as they prepare your order and it comes out hot. Carry out is very popular and they do it well. They have a large patio area which will be open as weather permits. We've tried the Fried fish which has 4 filets with light breading and isn't greasy. Mac and cheese is very good, greens just okay for me but great for my son. Smothered pork chops (2) are thin cut and very tender smothered in a light brown gravy sauce. The salmon patties dinner comes with 2 nice size patties and per my husband, okay, but he'd enjoy more flavor/seasoning. Mashed potatoes, yams, cabbage and corn bread are yummy. Overall, the food is respectable southern/soul food and I certainly would recommend to soul food lovers. Desserts appear to be a must here as I heard from every returning customer who entered the restaurant. So I did...Caramel cake is a nice size portion of a moist, dense yellow cake with an excellent caramel icing that reminds me of a caramel apple consistency. I've been told the peach cobbler is insanely good and next on my list.

DeeGusto's has a following and I'm not going to detail anything bad. Food was fine - I was just underwhelmed about what I expected. I'd rather go to MCL.

So..don't know if this will help anyone...but I didn't get to eat there...though I did get a bite!! I had purchased a Groupon...but only hubby and the kids could use it...But...from their reaction and my kid's constant request to go back....IT WAS AWESOME...they got the fish and the chicken wings...the wings were sooo flavorful and juicy. The fish was perfectly fried and full of flavor without being soggy or being undercooked. The sides were pretty awesome as well...I got to taste the mac and cheese!! I wish they were opened longer especially since I live on the otherside of town...but definately a gem of Indy!!

This was a great little restaurant that I found off of Groupon. It had great reviews so I thought I'd give it a go. It was delicious! I got the fried chicken dinner, it came with two sides. I chose fried potatoes and macaroni and cheese. Also delicious! Topped it off with peach cobbler ala mode. Yep...delicious! The dinner was huge. I recommend sharing it with someone The staff was very attentive and polite.

Ok, my restaurant reviews are WAY too wordy. So, here goes ...... DeeGusto's serves, by far, the best southern cooked fare I have ever had. Sampled recently: smothered pork chop, cooked cabbage, greens, corn bread, fried fish fillets, mac & cheese and home fried potatoes. All were 5++++ star superb! And, the portions are BIG. The owners who also run the restaurant are quite charming even though I was chastised for not ordering dessert. Next time I'll plan accordingly and save room for some peach cobbler or apple dumplings.

Ok, I can only say Wow. We ordered the chicken wings and they were delicious all the way through. The fried corn, potatoes and mac and cheese did not disappoint. Small place but the atmosphere was welcoming. We didn't wait long for our food and it came out hot! We will certainly be visiting again.

Chicken was good. The wife had biscuits and gravy. Said it tasted pre packaged. There was a hair in the eggs. Don't think I'd go back. Bit out of the way.

This place is perfect for what it is--hole in the wall soul food. Nothing fancy, nothing fashionable, plastic on the tables. I really dig their caramel cake, like REALLY it. The staff was nice.

My first 5 star review. Where do I start? It feels like grandma's kitchen. The food was so unbelievable I hugged the waitress. It's southern home cooking from the heart. You could taste the love put into this meal. The batter was perfectly seasoned and crispy on my chicken wings. The food, like the south, is slow, but the perfection makes it worth it. So make sure you leave at least an hour and half open for this experience. I had the mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy and greens. Everything had complex and perfect seasonings. I could taste bay leaf in the mac and cheese! The greens had a nice smokey bacon flavor that made it so delightful I stuffed myself to the brim and kept going. Dessert was the peach cobbler which did not disappoint. I will definitely be going back. Reasonably priced as well.

GREAT cornbread. Awesome greens. Beautifully breaded fried chicken wings. Superb smothered pork chops. The best:? The owners and servers are amazingly friendly and welcoming. It's a tiny place, but quite charming. And yeah, the food is delicious.

Great southern food! This place has the best fried chicken that I've had in IN. It's a no frills type of restaurant that relies on great food and solid hospitality to bring in customers. The owner and staff were great - they were very friendly and made sure service was good. I will definitely be back for more!
