Please pass up this place, it is not the real Damons, the place for ribs! Apparently that restaurant has gone out of business and new owners kept the name Damons and just added "Grill" on the sign. I went with two of my friends thinking this was the original Damons since we did like the ribs. What a big mistake! The place was almost empty at 6pm which should have been a hint as to what we did experience. We were seated and drink order was taken and we did not see our waitress for almost twenty minutes! All we wanted was two waters and one beer. We waited again as the waitress took off immediatly and finally came back to tke our order. We ordered half a loaf of onion strings and entrees which included salads. We got the salads first instead of the appetizers. The waitress took off so quickly we could not ask her about the onion strings which usually come out first. The salad looked like it had been made up hours earlier with wilted lettace all around the edges. I had to pick off the wilted lettuce and placed it on the table. Finally out comes the waitress to say that someone else took her order of onion strings so she had to wait for another one. The onon strings looked ok bur did not come with any dipping sauce. We asked for some sauce and she brought out something white, we tasted it and it was horseradish sauce! We had to wait again to find our waitress to ask her why we got horseradish sauce and not the spicy mayo sauce. She said she would ask the kitchen. She brought out some sauce and said 'this is the sauce we usually serve with the onion straws' we looked at each other and laughed. Why did we not get this in the first place? The sauce still was not the one that the real Damons served. Finally we got our entrees and I ordered the prime rib and the bbq rib combo with salad and baked beans. The prime rib looked like it had sat out for a very long time as it was dry and very dark brown in color. I flipped over the steak and it looked better on the bottom side. The ribs were ok with some sauce on the side which we had to ask for. The prime rib was ok, she also never asked me how I wanted it cooked. The baked beans were terrible and were left alone. I would not ever recommend this place and would warn everyone not to try it. You can just about go anywhere and get a much better meal for the price!

I have always been a fan of Damon's and this location didn't let me down. A awesome place to watch sports and play their in-house trivia games on the TV. Their wings and burgers are solid and the service was friendly.

Food is very dry and very old tasting. I'm normally very forgiving at bars with little expectations, but honestly it was just bad.

Damon's used to be known for good ribs but no longer. Terrible dry, tough and overcooked ribs. Poor service, too. Recommend nearby "His Place" soul food restaurant for good tasting ribs.

Yes, it's a chain, and I try not to go to chains. BUT my partner wanted a burger and those little stringy onions, and this was where he wanted to go. Off we went...to the chain restaurant...in a hotel. We got great service! The food was good too. I had little southwest egg roll type things off the appetizer menu, and he ordered a cheeseburger which was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, as requested. It was "happy hour" so we also ordered one of those onion bricks and it was 99 cents. We could only finish about a third of it between the 2 of us. We spent $20 on dinner, and not only was our waitress really pleasant, the other 2 waitresses were too. Next time we want a burger close to home, we may just stop in...chain or not.

This used to be a really nice place to eat ribs, but something went wrong. Often times, a large group of us would go there after church. One Friday evening while entertaining some friends from out of town, we were asked to wait briefly. No problem because there were at least 16 in our party. While waiting, one of the children with us said there was a bird in the room that was closed off and it was crawling quickly on the floor. Well, you can probably guess that it wasn't a bird. All of the women were afraid to pit there purses on the floor. Now to the food......mediocre at best. Ribs were cold and when we asked to have them reheated, zapped in the microwave or put back on the grill, the server agreed, but they were still cold when brought back to the table. Salad greens were not crispy, a bit soggy. It took them 25 minutes to get one guys ribs out because they said they were very busy. He decided to get them to go, so if they had already started cooking them, why did it take another 20 minutes to get his food? This place is horrible. When the other Damon's was open,, service and food were great. In all fairness, it has been about 5 yrs ago since this incident, but needless to say the 'bird running on the floor" played a big part in our decision not to go back.

Horrible service. The wait expect you to come to them, to find out where they put the menu and to wait over 20 minutes to put in your order. This is not the first time crap like this has happened. People have said that the food is delicious but I can never order any. Very disappointing. I'm a server and I know what it is to serve and I know what to expect while being served. I don't look for stellar service for a bar restaurant that is attached to a hotel, but I would like some common courtesy.

Horrible, anything you need they don't have , the waitresses are clueless, it's like why give a menu, we don't have this or that, on a Sunday less than 20 people, should of been my first clue to run, the food we did order was old the so called crispy chicken salad, old chicken, I don't write reviews but this is a DUMP!!!!!!

I joined yelp just to review this place; it was THAT BAD. It took 20 minutes to get our beers and they brought me a Miller lite instead of a bud light. I let the waitress know and she disappeared behind the bar wall for no more than 5 seconds and obviously brought me back the same beer. We ordered nachos with everything on them. The chips were stale, the cheese cooked almost black, and they forgot the jalapenos, tomatoes, and scallions. We could hear other tables either telling their servers that they didn't order whatever meal they were brought or were getting frustrated cause no server had been by their table in 15 minutes. They brand this place as the New Damon's but I don't know if there's any way the old place could've been worse. This sad, pathetic excuse for a sports bar is lucky to be open.

Gave it a 1 star because Zero was not an option! Came in town from Akron, oh to watch the big ten championship game on Dec 6, 2014. After a 5 hours drive checked into our hotel across the street and saw the Damon's name so we got excited, ASSUMING it was the Damon's we were used to in Northeast Ohio, and we didn't have time to drive around looking for a place since the game started in a couple of hours. The empty dining room should have been a red flag. They were out of prime rib and several of the steaks - at 5pm on a Saturday - another red flag! We waited over an hour for our dinner, had to flag multiple servers to re-fill empty glasses because ours disappeared, one server was wearing sweat pants (really?). 1 steak was ordered rare - was cooked well done. 2 orders of burgers were overcooked into beef jerky - the burgers were not fresh they tasted like they were deep frozen. On our way out we complained to the manager and he told us they were not part of the Damon's chain - we told him to change the name! My wife and I Never complain - I joined YELP because of my experience at this place. I even downloaded the YELP app on my phone and next time I will check it before I go into a new place. Avoid this place.

I would give a zero if I could. Unfortunately we made no reservations for valentine's day and found all the local great eats full. We (2 couples) found this place... should have know better since it was empty... with a sign stating new management and all new! To summarize our experience, our evening was horrible. Slow service, watered down alcoholic drinks, flat soda, cold/unseasoned appetizers, and the worst entrees any of us had ever had. French onion soup: oily, canned, with soggy croutons and generic cheese. Cesar salad: finely diced ice berg lettuce with strange dressing. Fish and chips: basically generic frozen french fries and perfectly same sized Gordon fish filets. Steak dinners: both not cooked to specified temp, tough and chewy. Had ordered loaded baked potatoes with steaks... waiter brought out meals without them and said they would be out. ... never did. Manager only took a little off our checks after talking with her. Do yourself a favor and stay away!

Stayed in the hotel attached. Got a discount on the food. Everything was fresh! Great portions! Yummy prime rib, wings, and ribs! The waitress was fabulous and very helpful. Took home lots of food. Very pleased ...quality food...affordable price. Cool twist on loaded fries! Buffalo sauce and blue cheese crumbles ...yummy!

Absolutely horrible. We called yesterday to see if this was the same food and specifically asked if the onion loaf and BBQ sauce was the same as the old Damon's. We arrived today and found out that we were told a lie. Not even close.

Second trip in the last few months to Damon's and second straight disappointing meal. We ordered the 2 for $22 special, which kicked off with the giant onion loaf, which turned out to be a greasy pile of soggy, lukewarm onion rings accompanied by a gross spicy mayo. We asked for some Louisiana Hot Sauce to hopefully cut the grease, but all they had was Tabasco. Our entrees came--a half rack of ribs and a 6 oz sirloin. I couldn't stand the steak because it was very peculiarly flavored; I still can't identify the odd seasoning. My companion took it off my hands, it didn't bother her. I ate the ribs which were at best, so so. I asked for and received a side of spicy BBQ sauce which helped. Weirdly, the steak came accompanied with--ready for it--more onion rings, along with the expected fries. More grease. A few years ago I worked on the west side of Indy and frequently ate lunch at the Damon's on that side of town. Usually stuck to the pulled pork sandwich and it was fine, perhaps that's the best strategy for dinner as well. Not sure I'm going to find out though. Despite cheerful and attentive service from an overly busy waitress, I don't know if this is worth doing again.
