Bynum’s Steakhouse Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

So the food was great. Little pricey in my opinion. We had to go thru 3 dirty spoons to get 1 clean spoon. The lights hung down so low u could barely see the person across from u. And the salad comes on a plate so small u cannot mix it without making a mess. Like I aid food was great, but a few issues.

I've only ever been here for lunch, so I'm only reviewing them for that. Mkay? Bynum's is close to work for me and we have some guys that really like coming here, so I end up here every so often. I can't really complain though, since the lunch prices are pretty good and they have some delicious options. The group favorite is the blue cheese burger (ask to add bacon!) with fries. They seriously have some of the best steak fries I've ever had. And their burgers have always come out cooked to the medium rare that I ask for, which seems like too much to ask from many places. Their service, however, usually leaves a little something to be desired. Lunch can drag on sometimes, as they never seem to be in too much of a rush. Plus there have been multiple times we've ordered an app and not received it or something was left off a plate and took forever to come out. But overall it's still a decent place to get a good lunch.

I love this place! You get giant steaks and they are always delicious. We always get the bang shrimp appetizer which is sweet and spicy. The onion soup comes with the meal and it is great. The service is usually great. However, I'm sure there are some exceptions. The only thing I would change about this place is the limited alcohol selection. Especially the beer. I think they only have two or three on tap. Other than that this place is well worth your time and money.

I really wanted this place to be the hidden gem I thought it was. So desperately, I tried to maintain a positive outlook far beyond anyone else at our table of six. By the time I bowed my head and mumbled, "you're right, it's terrible", we all felt like hostages caught in a live page of a Where's Waldo book. Waldo being our server, of course. Husband and I arrived early, my family was running late. It was my mother's 60th birthday. We needed a location for a celebratory meal around the halfway point between Carmel and Bloomington. We tossed a few possibilities around and mom decided on Bynum's - she was looking for a really good steak. Let's just say I still owe Mom a really good steak. While we were waiting, Husband ordered a glass of pinot noir and water, as driver I requested a soda and water. Our meal extended to a just over three hour event and, even with multiple requests, I never received my water. Seriously. I had to share with Husband. Looking back now, I should have just gone to the bar to get my own water. Didn't dawn on me at the time - I was enjoying one of the rare occasions I get to see most of my family! We also ordered potato skins for the table. These were immediately devoured upon arrival and probably the best thing we ate all night, hence the Last Bite photo provided. The onion soup was good, salad decent. I'm not going to walk you through the agony of waiting to order, Husband's 45 minute wait for his Knob Creek and coke, the disaster that was trying to get our correct salads and entrees, or the million other little things that would have made this such a miserable evening if my family were not champs of overcoming adversity and enjoying our rare moments of time together. My NY Strip was terrible. Probably good to note that these are wet aged, not dry aged as I had assumed. On a positive note, Husband really enjoyed his Bone-in Ribeye despite being over temped. Actually, it wasn't over temped - it was actually Sister's Not-Husband's order. Not-Husband ate, but did not quite as much enjoy, Husband's mid rare order. Too bad we discovered this error late. Nephew never got his fries and Mom was pretty much done eating when the horseradish for her prime rib showed up. My steak was chewy with un-rendered fat. Then the hostage crisis began. It took us 27 minutes to locate our server to ask for boxes and checks. Another 18 passed before the hostess showed up with the styrofoam containers. Logged another 14 waiting to just ask him for the check AGAIN. Another 12 before they showed up. I don't remember the count on how long it took for him to return with our card and set us free. That's right, folks. We spent half our dining experience desperately trying to leave and staring at the time as it slowly. ticked. by. While the food ran from decent to awful, the service was what killed the hidden gem possibility here for us. It may have been an A-List finalist for several years, but the only thing in common with Ruth's Chris, St. Elmo's, Eddie Merlot's, and the others on that list is price. For Husband and I, plus mom, dinner and a few drinks came to around $200. For that kind of money I'd at least expect an edible entree and decent service. Instead, I'll be taking Mom out again to get her that really good steak she's still craving.

Had a great meal, Onion soup was kind of blah but the bread, Prime Rim and fries were fantastic. I decided to eat here for the first time instead of going to St. Elmo's and I'm glad I did. I will definitely be back.

In the mood for a gigantic steak? This is the place to go. The French onion soup that comes with every dinner is delicious. The prime rib literally takes up it's own plate-it could easily feed 4 people, and that's not an exaggeration, just make sure you reserve one in advance or they might be out. Personally I think the bone-in ribeye is the way to go. The service is a little hit-or-miss, but mostly decent. I've been here many times, so I guess it's never been bad enough to keep me away. I was disappointed to realize that there isn't a changing station at all, which I'd never noticed because I don't have children, but a family dinner with my nephew had us scrambling. It's not cheap, and honestly I'd probably say it's overpriced, but it is good.

Huge prime-rib. Very attentive waitress. French onion soup and bread was amazing. Salad was sub par. Prime rib was great on the outside, but less flavorful on the inside. All in all was a great dinner. A lot of food for the price.

Ugh. High prices for low quality. Steak was chewy and not tasty. The baked potato must have been sitting on a warming tray for hours. The grilled mushrooms were swimming in brine. Service was distracted.

Used Groupon - get one if they still are selling it! Boyfriend got bone in ribeye - everything he was hoping for. Good seasonings. Also got ribs - not greatest flavor but most tender he has ever had and he has had a LOT of ribs! Steak fries were seasoned like curly fries. Not typically a fan of steak fries but he enjoyed them. I got sirloin - excellent! Great crust and wonderful flavor. Got the loaded baked potato which was tender and great bacon. Homemade honey mustard on the salad was a must and the chopped walnuts were an excellent addition. We would definitely go back! Glad we found this place via Groupon because we wouldn't have stumbled upon it otherwise.

It's a lot of food for the money, however I can't tell you if it was any good. I ordered carryout on my lunch break and when I arrived to pick up the order, I asked for to go cutlery. They don't have it. Now I'm sitting here, gigantically pregnant, craving a steak, with $34 worth of food that I have no way to eat.

Went in hopes of a top notch steak, and was not disappointed! It was a toss-up between the 32 oz bone in prime rib and the ribeye. We ordered both - they were both excellent. We had enough prime rib left over for dinner the next day for our family of 4! Best onion soup I've ever had!

Please get a more knowledgable hostess. I called at 6pm to see if we could get in with our party of 7 on a Thursday. She said to come at 6:30 and we would probably wait 15-20 minutes. We arrived at 6:30. At 6:50 I asked about a table. The hostess said it would be 15-20 minutes. I asked her to be honest. If it would be longer we would have been happy to come another time. At 7:10 I asked about our table. She left to check and said it would be 15-20 minutes again! At 7:30 I inquired again and she said it would be 15-20 minutes!!!! This was absolutely crazy! If she had been honest from the beginning we wouldn't have left with the vow of never to return. I have no idea about the food because we never got to eat anything!!! Update - Bynums contacted me to explain. They were very nice!!

Myself, My Husband and a friend went to Bynum's Steakhouse for Dinner Friday evening. We were greeted warmly and sat almost immediately. Our waiter took our drink orders and I ordered a Ice Tea with extra ice. (FYI, I am a ice freak .lol.) My friend wanted a alcoholic beverage and wasn't sure what he wanted, the waiter asked what kind of drinks he liked. My friend told the waiter several drinks he liked and the waiter told him he would make a drink he thought my friend would like. when the waiter returned with our drinks he actually had a mini pitcher of ice for me. the drink he made my friend was Delicious. Our French Onion Soup was hot and had a lot of Cheese. Our Bread Was warm. The Salads were lacking a bit. No croutons or cheese. We ordered 2 Appetizers The Boom Boom Shrimp and the Shrimp Cocktail. The Shrimp Cocktail was AWESOME. The Shrimp Cocktail Sauce is to die for. The Boom Boom Shrimp was overcooked. I ordered the Rib Eye, it was Melt in your mouth and large enough to share with my Husband. My friend ordered the New York Strip it was cooked to perfection. My baked potato was undercooked. No room for Dessert. Def. would go again. Waiter did take forever to bring check then to pick up our card.

Any steakhouse that has not 1, not 2 BUT 3 life-size cows out front has to be good. I loved the sign hanging near the cows "Now Hiring" . . . . for short term job employment if you're a cow ;-) 4 miles south of Lucas Stadium, this place is old-school but worth the drive and money -- a 20 oz NY Strip, done to perfection with passable french onion soup and a laughable salad makes this a real bargain at $28. It's the kind of place for the in-the-know-high-colesteral crowd -- and since I'm one of them, that makes me a fan. Service was a tad slow but I can live with that - good steak trumps that every time.

This was not good at all. Started off with a dirty glass and something floating in my water. Then got their famous "onion soup" that basically was shredded cheese on the bottom with lukewarm instant onion soup. The salad was confusing as it had a spring mix with iceberg lettuce which was room temperature as was the dressing. I asked for horseradish sauce which she forgot then took her 15 minutes to bring to me which by then I needed my undercooked filet warmed up. Not impressed and will not return!

We had a bad experience from the moment we entered. I had made a reservation, and went to the hostess to say our name. TWICE she took a phone call, even walked back to kitchen to talk to them, before greeting me. They need to seriously work on their customer service with the customer standing right in front of them. Then, we got seated at a table, and moments later water started dripping on our table from the ceiling (it was raining outside). When we asked to move to another table, they said we had to ask the hostess if it was ok and where to sit and made us feel bad for wanting to move. 80% of the tables were open, and water had been dripping on us. Three other tables got up to move within 10 minutes because of water. Two people dressed in gross clothes (one woman in pajamas!!!!) came to check on he water situation and crawled under the tables to check the wet carpet. This is not appropriate for a restaurant that charges $38-40 for steak. The onion soup tasted good (but cheese was in a lump at bottom of cup instead of melted over the top), bread was good, and salad was ok. My steak came out and was very undercooked. After waiting 15 minutes for the waitress to return, I asked nicely if they could please cook it longer. She was nice and took it, but came back 5 min later to tell me it was cooked properly. Seriously!!! I didn't even initially say it wasn't cooked properly, I just asked for it to please be cooked longer. It was totally rude, and I think the waitress was relaying a message from the kitchen, but it was SO rude. When she said that to me, I gave up. I asked them to keep it because I didn't feel like arguing with them. So, I didn't ever get steak to actually eat. In addition, I ordered mushrooms on top of my steak (menu said $5 for whole mushrooms). I received about 10 slices of mushrooms (maybe 2 mushrooms total) for $5. The service was slow. From start to finish our meal took 2.5 hours (and I never did get to eat my steak). It took almost 20 min to get our wine we ordered. Bar drinks seem to be an issue. Soda and water was brought quickly and refilled as needed. Thankfully, they did remove my steak from the check but I left hungry and since we were from out of town I had to get food from our hotel at 10 pm. Not cool.

This place is super interesting. It's tucked away on the south side of town and very unassuming. The prices are pretty high, but the steak you'll get is as big as your face! I never understood why so many people raved about that little place with the cows out front, until Jon and I visited a few months ago. The French Onion we got was a little weird, the cheese was at the bottom, as if it were placed on the bottom of the bowl before the soup was ladled in. There was one BIG crouton, which was awesome, but I did miss fighting my way through the normal cheesy layer of F.O. The salad was decent. Simple, nothing to really write about. But the steak. Oh the steak. It was juicy and hearty. You could taste the age and the love and the seasoning and and annnnd. I could've been given two saucers of soggy crackers before that steak and I STILL would give 5 stars. I'm definitely ready to go back, although I don't think my wallet is.

Awesome and offbeat. If you're avoiding the big chains and still want a fine piece of beef, this place is for you. I enjoyed a red-wine reduction sauce covered filet and my friend had a prime rib big enough to feed a saber tooth tiger. The drinks, beef, salads, and soups wear all good to great. The bake potato's were a bit undercooked, but edible. The coffee was awful, so I'd skip that if I find myself back there.

I ordered the chipotle rum steak and it was one of the best steaks I have ever had. I was disappointed in the service which is why I only gave 4 stars. The steaks are great though and the house onion soup is delicious.

Best Prime Rib hands down! Friendly and fast wait staff. You wanna try a "hole in the wall" type of place for great steaks, this is the place! Been here numerous times every time I visit Indy.

Loved it! I normally don't even order steak but I decided that I wanted to try it. My steak was great. My husband had the ribs & they were great. We both love good ribs & were impressed with their ribs. The creme brulee was just okay but the rest of the meal was great. Also you can order from the dinner menu anytime during the day. The staff was really friendly. The outside might not seem like much but the inside is nice & big. We will definitely go again when we are in indy.

Went here for my honey's birthday. He's a huge fan of prime rib, but we didn't want to spend a fortune for St. Elmo's or Mo's. Bynum's came up on Gyots's 10 best list of steakhouses in the Indy area, so we decided to give it a try. The decor is western - lots of dark wood, nevermind the gigantic plastic cows outside haha. We were promptly seated (we had a reservation but they weren't busy). The waitress brought us a pitcher of iced tea when we both ordered it. That's a huge plus in my book - it seems like we're always waiting for refills. When you order an entree, it comes with onion soup, house salad and a side of baked potato, rice or fries. We ordered the blooming onion type appetizer. It was wayyyy too much food. I had the regular cut filet and it was pretty tasty, although I didn't eat much because I was so stuffed. I'm not a big prime rib eater, but my fiance said it was fantastic. It's huge too - like 32oz or something. I tried their Chocolate Suicide dessert and he got a complementary cheesecake since it was his birthday. Best part - total bill was $81. That would be just two steak, nothing else, at Morton's or something equivalent. We definitely enjoyed the dinner. Our waitress was attentive, the food was good, the price was perfect. Definitely a good choice.

The last time I ate at Bynum's I'm pretty sure the internet was a figment of someones imagination. I stopped in on a whim one Tuesday evening around 7 PM. I was a little concerned at first with only 2 cars in the lot. But thankfully the flashing OPEN sign let me know they were simply slow that Tue evening. I knew what I wanted, steak, a big one. I chose the Bone In Ribeye cooked medium rare. Baked potato butter & sour cream. Salad blu cheese. Meal was served with a hearty loaf of warm bread which was delicious. Full disclosure however I am a sucker for warm bread and butter. Also, meals come with onion soup. Not French onion. I prefer the French version but I do like the old fashioned way as well. This one was hot had a fresh taste. The salad came with blu cheese crumbles and the blu cheese dressing was delicious. I'm not a salad snob by no means. Give me iceberg lettuce a few cut up veggies, homemade dressing, crumbles and serve it on a ice cold metal plate and I'm more than satisfied. Finally the main course. The ribeye filled the plate and was beautifully cooked. The outside lacked a nice crust but inside the meat was cooked perfect. Typically a med-rare steak with have a good amount of juices but not this one for some reason. If it were cooked any longer then to med-rare it would have been dry. It had a good taste but not fantastic as one would expect from a $29 steak. The baked potato was delicious and I devoured it all including the salty crusted skin. I left no room for dessert but I left full and equally satisfied. I drank water and total bill was $31. This place has been around for yrs and I remember eating here many times with the parents. I will go back again and probably soon. Their specialty is Prime Rib and it's been a long while since Mr. Rib and I have had a sit down.

Canned soup, old salad, steak under seasoned, burnt on the outside raw on the inside. There was a weird fruit chutney on the side on a flabby piece of kale. I traded the rice side dish with frozen wrinkled peas and carrots in for a baked potato that tasted like it was cooked days ago. Very dated decor and experience. Wish I could give it a better recommendation because the service was very friendly - sadly the food wasn't worth the price.

Went here on a business dinner and had a great piece of meat. The service was excellent but that maybe because I was with a regular. I had the 32 ounce prime rib which came with a soup, salad and a side. There was too much food but the medium rare meat was prepared nicely and delicious.

  • Brandon S.

This place is old and ran down on the outside and in a boring location. But it's AWESOME. Go for the prime rib $32 comes with salad, french onion soup, a side, and bread. They serve a bone in prime rib that is so massive I took most of it home and got two sandwiches out of the leftovers. I got the cheese and cracker appetizer which was just a mild garlicky cheese spread on a plate with "packaged crackers" and a poor "very old school" presentation that I wouldn't recommend. With all the food I really shouldn't have ordered an app anyways. If your looking for modern sophistication and a fun atmosphere this is not the place. If you want a HUGE piece of meat and a dinner that would cost you $80 downtown easily, head to Bynum's. They have lots of different cuts, seafood "even swordfish", and other entrees on the menu that are all inclusive meals as well.

  • Diana M.

Steak was awesome. Maybe best filet mignon ever. Perfectly cooked. An amazing piece of meat. The rest, however.......the soup was like canned bullion so salty it was tinny with some cheese thrown in the bottom. The dinner salad was average, like you get at a diner. They don't serve a wedge salad (like a 1/4 of iceberg lettuce is so challenging?) So if I went there again, I'd get steak with a side of steak and some steak for dessert. And maybe a baked potato.

Food good. Service good. I ate the HUGE as in monster Prime rib. Cooked well. I ate it all and left stuffed. Decor is a little dark for me. I would go soon if you like steak...

My husband and I drove 40 minutes to go to Bynum's last Friday for a groupon we purchased. We sat down and got ready to order and I told them we had a groupon that stated $35 for value of $50 to use on anything on the menu, including beverages. We decided we are going to share the yummy looking prime rib and the waitress informs us that the groupon requires that you order 2 entree's (which an entree is a minimum of $20 or higher). I point out that this is not listed on the groupon as advertised nor in the fine print and the server says that they are covered under "restrictions can be applied." I explain that is a big "restriction" and ask for the manager. We wait for about 15 minutes and the server comes over and says the manager is busy and that she would say the same thing that the server said. I then ask if we can wait for the manager and the servers says she is not going to come over but can ask her again if we like but was pretty adamant about not coming over. I then asked for the general manager and the server said that was the manager she talked too. We were so appalled at the lack of customer service that we walked out. I worked in the restaurant business for 8 years and am now in the customer service industry and could not believe that the manager couldn't even come over. I wouldn't even recommend my worst enemy to go there because if they treat me like this who is to say how they treat others. Not only did they completely change what they advertised on groupon but terrible customer service on top of it.

Somewhere along the cattle trail, before the cows get to Indianapolis, is a weird barn where they drop off all the good steaks. Bynum Steakhouse is that barn. So, I went to St. Elmo's expecting an incredible steak. After all, it's a place that is known outside of the state of Indiana (I cannot vouch for this though. In New York, when people talk about great steaks, only places in New York come up). I was expecting the most delicious cut of meat, perfectly aged, and for the price, somethign that would blow away Peter Lugars. I didn't find it there. And given how much that cost, I was a bit disappointed. Then I found Bynums. Now, if you want to go out for an incredible cut, and you don't want to pay through the nose for it, Bynum's should be your destination. However, if you're looking for world class service and an overall amazing dining experience within the greatest looking restaurant, you may want to skip this place. First date place this is not. After all, it looks like the barn where the steak was raised. But, if the girl is good enough, and knows what a good steak is, you can take her here after a month or two of dating. The only thing I don't understand - Why did I get a cup of French onion soup?

I really like this place. Very quaint. Food has always been good. Service good. A nice place to eat that isn't a chain. It might be a little more money than a chain, but well worth the extra money.,

Just went tonight for the amazing prime rib. Service was great. Atmosphere is casual...I kind of prefer to get a good steak somewhere that is less pretentious (and less expensive) than the downtown steakhouses. Great homemade blue cheese dressing, lots of delicious chunks. Two recommendations: a) do not charge $7.95 for ONE 20 oz draft Blue Moon. That is REE-diculous! b) don't use iceberg salad mix. If it must be iceberg, do a wedge. Or use a spring mix instead. One prime rib dinner is plenty for 2 people to share. My husband and I are not dainty and we did this tonight, paid $9 extra to double the sides included with entrees: bread, soup, salad and choice of potato/vegetable. We ended up bringing leftover steak home. Love how they wrap it up in foil shaped like a bull's head, very cute! That's it... I would go here any time I wanted an amazing prime rib in a low-key, friendly atmosphere. Just look for the big tacky bulls out front! ;)

I've eaten at Bynum's for a number of years now. It is one of the city's hidden gems. Their steak's are as good as anyone's in Indy. Their onion soup is ok, their salads are small but the only one I know of that comes with walnuts (which I like). The only "bad" thing here is their service. The service here is slower than the post office. I took some clients here a few months ago and we had to leave, before our entree's came out. We waited 1.5 hours for lunch, they had to get back to work. I dont know why they are so slow, but other than slow service it is a great place to have a good meal for a reasonable price. Fix the slow service and it would be a 5 star.

Generous portions and friendly service have been our experiences the two times we have eaten here. However it's not a place you can afford to eat at often. We had a groupon which helped my wallet. When you pull into the parking lot and see the steer greeting guests, you know there are not going to be any vegetarian options on the menu. Stepping inside has you feelin like you're deep in the heart of Texas with the smell of meat cooking and deep wood trim everywhere. The large wood beams across the dining areas had different life lessons and quotes written out. They were neat to read while taking in the atmosphere. Also, Even though it was dark with no windows looking outside, we didn't feel enclosed sitting in our booth in the back (same place both times). The front area is more cozy and the full bar area is neat to sit at too. I would have liked to been in front but We had to sit in the back because with a stroller since we couldn't get up or down the stairs. They had us come the through the service door which was nice of them. My wife and I laugh at the randomness of the music selection that's played while dinning. They will play early 2000s alt and then a deep country track followed by a today's top pop hit. Overall, great place to go for special occasions. Good food that you can Expect to take home for the next day. 32oz prime rib.. Wow!! The filet was amazingly seasoned and so tender. You have to save room for dessert!!! Very good and house made. Also the blue cheese salad dressing was great.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST.... Prime Rib I have EVER Eaten !!! The French Onion Soup is a nice Prelude to a Huge Cut of Bone In Prime The SERVICE IS EXCELLENT ...... a tip to avoid being disappointed is to CALL AHEAD and Reserve your Prime Rib ......

Very disappointed! Took my son out for his 22nd birthday...called ahead to make sure we our favorite prime rib would be reserved. They saved the end piece even though we ordered rare and medium rare. What a disappointment to have a medium-well rib roast. lost a loyal customer!

We enjoyed dining here during our visit to Indianapolis. Julie had the porterhouse, and I had a bone-in ribeye. Here is the play-by-play: Drinks - Hard to screw up bourbon on the rocks and draft beer, but I would say the bourbon selection could be a bit better. Maybe add a local bourbon to the mix? French Onion Soup - I found this to be a bit weird and a bit too salty. My recommendation would be to skip this. Salad - We found the dressing to be very good, especially with added walnuts. The rest of the salad was just ok. Steak/Potatoes - Both steaks were very good and prepared correctly to order. You won't find a better steak for the price. We won't be going back to St. Elmo's after this! The baked potatoes were fine, but nothing special. Dessert - The carrot cake was very good. Atmosphere - This place is kind of a family restaurant with better food. If you are looking for "fine dining", this isn't it. Just great steaks at good prices. We will leave the fine dining steakhouses to the expense account set. Service - Top notch. Everything was timed perfectly. All in all, 4 stars. A little improvement to the bar and a big improvement to the sides would bring this place up to 5 stars.

After all the hype about Bynum's Steakhouse on Yelp, I was excited to try this place! But the food was pretty underwhelming, and I left very disappointed. When we got to the restaurant, it was surprisingly empty at 6:30 PM. The server seated us with our party very quickly and we got our drinks right away. For appetizers, cheese bread was ordered and it was SO. SALTY. I'm not sure why anyone would put salt on cheese bread, but it happened and it was terrible. The potato skins were okay. The salad was a typical, underwhelming salad that you would expect at a not so good steakhouse. The onion soup was just bad. There was one crouton floating at the top that was burnt, and the cheese was at the bottom (...why?) of the soup. This left it very rubbery and not very appetizing. But the worst part of the soup was how SALTY it was! Half our table couldn't finish it due to the saltiness. A friend commented that the cook must have a very bland palate. I agree. For the entree, I got the NY Strip with sauteed onions and mushrooms. I must admit, I have never had a NY Strip like this before. I was the fattiest, chewiest Strip I have ever eaten. My jaw still aches when I think about it. The steak was also very (almost blue) when I ordered it medium rare, but being the carnivore I am, it was acceptable. The sauteed mushrooms were obviously canned mushrooms....I paid an extra $2 for a little bit of canned mushrooms sauteed in bottled chopped garlic (like the one we lazy people buy from Walmart because we don't want to chop our own garlic). But this is supposed to be a great steakhouse, so what the heck?!? Anyway, I couldn't finish half the steak because my jaw hurt so much from chewing. My boyfriend got the special, which was a 7 oz filet covered in bernaise sauce and topped with a jumbo shrimp. It would have been a really good dish, but somehow that bernaise sauce tasted funky. My boyfriend and I both agreed that the sacue completely ruined what would have been a well-cooked filet. Overall, I will not be going back to Bynum's, and I would not recommend it to my friends (or anyone who has high blood pressure). The service was great, but it wasn't good enough to make up for the terrible food.

Below average experience. We had reservations for two at 7 pm. We arrived by 6:45 and waited until 7:25 to be seated. Not OK. Other tables were offered apologies for the wait but I guess our small party was not important enough... Second, we ordered drinks when we sat down. My lemon drop cocktail barely took up half the glass it was served in, was neither sweet nor sour, and neither my husband nor myself detected any liquor. For 8 dollars it was beyond unacceptable. Third, our salads that came with our dinner were strange. Mine had onions, my husband's had tomatoes. We definitely ordered the same salad... The deal-breaker: the steaks were just OK. For 30 bucks each I wanted good steaks. Our vegetable sides were overcooked and bland. I won't be back. Service was OK but not personable. The only thing I liked was the soup!

I've been meaning to eat here for awhile now and finally found some time tonight...so glad I did! The meal started off with a cup of French onion soup, which was a nice surprise on such a cold night but apparently included with my meal. This came with some warm bread, which was okay but not that memorable. Next came a salad with the house blue cheese dressing. The dressing was incredibly thick and pungent, just the way it ought to be. Next I ordered the special, a 7 oz chipotle glazed filet mignon with a baked potato. I paired the steak with a nice red blend and what a great combination! The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare and was incredibly tender. The quality of the meat was top notch and the plate came with a fruit relish, which added hint of sweetness to the meal. The waitress was on top of her game too. She was attentive but not overbearing and made sure my glass was never empty. An overall very enjoyable experience and a solid restaurant.

My husband and I went there tonight to celebrate my birthday. Fantastic atmosphere, food and service. We had overlooked it for years because of the tacky cows out front. Don't let the exterior scare you, this place is a gem;)
