Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Yikes. two-words: college bar. but, if you are a guy out hunting with your best wingmen (sorry, I'm happy taken), definitely worth a look from outside. It definitely has the potential to be a target-rich environment.

Great sports bar. Really enjoyed watching some March Madness games here! Saturday night one of the managers bartends and he just might be the nicest and most outgoing bartenders I have ever met. Props to the bar for playing games and then turning up the music when they are over and letting people have fun.

Not my cup of tea. Ambiance , 1 out of 5. Loud, rowdy, typical college bar but I understand that is what they are going for. Service , 1 out of 5. Server messed up our entire order and charged us for extra drinks. I am a server myself and make mistakes so we simply wanted the manager to fix it for us but the manager was extremely rude and told us we were cheap for not being willing to pay for the drinks we did not even order. Food, 2 out of 5. Food was average bar food and not too expensive, just very slow which I anticipated at a packed bar like this one. I think it is an okay place to catch a game but I will not go back. meh i'll give it 2 stars because of the ridiculous amount of people that pack the place, they have to deal with a lot and I understand we have our bad nights in the bar/restaurant industry

Horrible service! After we sat down we waited at least 20 minutes before we got up and went to the bar to order drinks, that's when the waitress finally came over and reassured us that they did even have waitresses smh. Ordered a fish bowl to share with my boyfriend, we were told it was "like a Long Island"..... It was blue, and tasted horrible! NOTHING LIKE A LONG ISLAND. We traded it for four REAL Long Island drinks, which were close to the taste but still a little untasty. Mind you, we had to wait at least another 20 minutes when waiting for those four drinks. Our waitress was too busy chatting with friends. We ended up walking back and forth to the bar because it was faster than waiting on her. My boyfriend ordered hot wings.... They looked like extra deep fried chicken nuggets lol. Not good at all. We left by midnight. But I will say the dj there played good music.

Awesome $4 pitchers on Thursdays. Better drink specials than Kilroys. Food is typical bar food. Nice place to watch a game or people watch.

I have been here now a handful of times and have really enjoyed myself. Their food is pretty good for bar food. I was not a fan of my husband's cheese fries but their gator balls were spicy and yummy! They also had a wonderful california burger. We have recently been going for trivia nights on Wednesday with a 15 dollar fish bowl which is 8 shots and comes in what is supposed to look like a fish bowl... Yummmm!!!! Definitely one of my favorite places to go to in Broadripple!

The place was nice, no cover. They were having a Halloween contest at 1AM which I wished it was sooner because we wanted to go to other bars afterward but by the time 1 AM rolled around we were ready to just go home. They had darts and pool which were full. I had a sex on the beach, grape ape and the Long Island iced tea which was good but I really think they watered down the drinks. I'm a lightweight and after all those I was not even feeling buzzed. Frustrated that I wasted my money. It was just ok

The new buffalo fries were too soggy . There was no chance of having a problem with the cheese because there was so little. Overall the service was very slow. The restaurant wasn't crowded yet based on the time of evening it should have been . The one bar keep was over worked and couldn't keep up. The waitress was slow to return to the table Overall not to hot

IT'S SMOKE FREE!!! Fantastic selection of draft beers (and I don't just mean every subspecies of Coors, Bud, and Miller). Really great specials on these high quality beers on the weeknights. Seriously..."slap yourself in the face to make sure you're not dreaming" kind of specials. The food hovers around the $10 mark, but it's not crappy. The cheese fries use gooey sauce and melted shred to achieve a pretty fantastic overall product. The little sliders are good, and perfect for splitting with a friend--2 each. I've had the fried fish, it's fine, as are the cheese curds (they're not as good as 20 Tap though). The weeknights are also host to food specials...like ultra-cheap tacos, burgers, and wings. The potato chips are fried in-house. Definitely a step above most sports bars as far as food goes. Word to the wise though, the specials change. Call ahead to find out for sure. At certain times, on certain days of the week, Brothers is absolutely intolerable. You can probably figure out which days/times those are without trying too hard. Don't go there then, if you're going to be annoyed. If you like loud douchebaggery though, be sure to head over on a Saturday night...this is your Mecca. Wait...you don't know what that is...n/m...go get drunk! WOOOO!

Was here last Thursday (1/10) for the $1.00 burger night. Little did I know they have removed this from their weekly special. Without the $1.00 burgers this bar no longer offers any reason to frequent the establishment. The buffalo chicken sandwich also made my friend/co-worker sick all weekend. This will be my last visit to Brother's.

Decent food, but server unknowledgeable about the beer selection. Ambience and pricing as expected. Reasonably quick service. Patrons playing beer pong annoying.

This place is overrated. It's not that it's bad; it's just boring and it definitely isn't cool. Brothers is Bud Light versus a really tasty microbrew. Brothers is a shining example of how Broad Ripple has caved into the interests of philistines. If you're in Broad Ripple, you owe it to yourself to patronize non-chain establishments.

So this review is for the trivia night. Ohh Brother's, yeah it's a college chain, but this one was fairly tame compared to the one I'm used to in Champaign or other trivia nights I've been to in general. There is a ton of space and a few pool tables. It seems like a good place to catch a game or just relax and have a few beers. Their draft selection is ok, but their specials are great, which bumps it up to 4 stars for me. Went on a trivia night and had fun, I thought the questions were good and it was well run except for all the cheaters. I feel a large part of it is I didn't go in expecting filet mignon or fancy cocktails so I had a good time. We ended up ordering 8 beers and 20 wings and the tab came to $18 - not bad especially considering the wings were pretty big for what you pay, none of that pigeon looking wing crap here. The server was really nice, not too pushy but not too hard to get a hold of. Now fair warning I haven't had any of their other food at this location, but I was satisfied with what I got and I feel like I definitely got it on the cheap.

This place may very well be the seventh layer of the underworld from Dante's inferno. Extremely rude bartenders that act like waiting on you is an inconvenience to them. I've gotten heckled a handful of times by the bouncers checking my id and not believing it was real. One time the guy snapped at me,"Well what would you do if I went and showed this to that officer?" I replied, "Go ahead, he will tell you that it is my ID." So he took it to a police officer and the officer looked at him like he was brain dead and said, "Yes that is definitely her," and then the bouncer just shoved my ID back at me without apologizing. Half those bros working there need a good old fashioned curb stomping. The servers and bartenders there act like they don't even want tips. I cant tell you how many times the female bartenders have looked me straight in the face and then waited on a male customer right in front of me. Unless you are the Greek system, or looking to run into every jock you hated in high school then avoid this place. I can only be dragged to brothers if I am so drunk that I cannot form sentences. I am not much of a beer drinker but I do know that their liquor drinks are weak and a ripoff.

Brothers gets a bad rap for the patrons. If you went to a Broad Ripple bar with cheap beer and college sports on everywhere on a weekend night and were NOT expecting young people / heavy drinkers...you don't get out much. Sure the service isn't great and the college coeds are out in full force, but its non-smoking (rare in Indy) and its actually a pretty laid back atmosphere most of the time. It's a sports bar at its core, so there are flat screen TVs everywhere (good or bad depending on your perspective). I enjoyed one of my favorite IPAs on draft (Ranger) and thought the Gator Balls were amazing. FYI - Gator Balls are jalapenos mixed with cheese sauce, enveloped in chicken, wrapped in bacon, then deep fried (you can feel your blood stop moving after about three). Oh yeah, you dip them in ranch too! In my opinion, the cheap and varied beer, good food, and smokeless atmosphere outweighs the young, lush, and (sometimes) obnoxious crowd.

Allright...I know...what you're thinking fellow Yelpers..."doesn't 4 stars mean 'Yay! I'm a fan.'?" Yes, yes, it does. I'm out of my t-shirt & jeans, surrounded by scuffed up concert tickets and stacks of national geographics closet, and stepping right into the Big Box bar room, flat-screen, striped shirt, the product in my hair is the same product the street cleaners use, two-forms of ID closet that is Brother's. To boot, that "Yay! I'm a fan," comes with a Mary Poppins levitating heel-click. Brother's is a prime example of why we often should be a wise old black sheep of a consumer rather than a regular ole sheepish denizen. Sheep, with a lisp, obviously wearing clothes that they'll immediately change out of when they get home (or they find themselves in an alley): "baaaaaaaaaa...letshjustgotobrother's..." Black Sheep, strong, virile, goes out for the right reasons: It's Tuesday! Tuesday is $2 draft pints at Brother's (yeah, yeah, there's one in Columbus, too, it's a chain...) but I didn't come here for anything but what's within the friendly confines of my pint glass, and that's top-notch beer for $2 on draft. All night Tuesday. When I say top-notch I'm talking Bell's Two-hearted. Let alone that two-hearted is a hard find in Broadripple on draft, it's $2. It's more expensive at a liquor store where you don't get it cold, and on draft. And, they have at least 25 other beers on tap (including Shiner Bock...a rarity really -- other than Chammps where it's $4.50) Look at it this way...all those folks you can't stand that go to Brother's on Friday & Saturday nights...are funding our proletariat up-rising of such delightful weeknight times. Plus, there's something King-ly, and Queen-ly!, about sitting in a large space which no one is in -- i.e. Brother's on Tuesdays. Expect the wait staff to be flakey...it's Tuesday...their date via across-the-room Blackberry-ing they found on Saturday night...isn't showing on Tuesday because he's nervous about being in the open. Well, we're not. Look at this vast expanse alll to ourselves! And, really, somehow they have decent bar food. I mean, they put a fried egg on their BLT. An egg on anything is a bonus to me. Plus, on Tuesdays it'll be slow, so I'll bet they'll put an egg on just about anything... 1 star for going on the weekends. 4 stars for Tuesdays. Giving Tuesday's a definition: $2 pints of Two-Hearted!

Imagine Applebee's, Chili's or some other chain restaurant decided that they want to overhaul their restaurant and go after the college drinking crowd. They gut most of the restaurant, then double the size of the bar, add some bar arcade games, more tvs and increase their tap selection. Welcome to brothers. Now, if you're looking for some good food and great service, you may want to skip this place. If you want a place where you can drink on the cheap and try to talk over background noise while watching a game, and getting some standard appetizers or sandwiches then this is your place. The saving grace, check out the stuffed burger menu. Even Brother's can't screw something like this up, and there is a pretty big selection here.

We thought we were safe -- after all, the typical Brothers d-bag crowd comes out only at night, right? Oh how wrong we were. To boot, they even work there!! For those lucky enough to never have been, this is basically the "Best Buy" of bars -- big, loud, average priced, mediocre quality everything, & good luck finding an employee who gives a shit about anything except who (or what) they hooked up with the previous night. My favorite was the misinformed "bouncer" who attempted to quote Excise law but probably couldn't spell it if you paid him. They have decent beer (Guinness & Newcastle top the list), but nothing I would consider really stellar. Yeah, they have decent drink specials -- as noted by the giant banners draped over the fake wood paneling. If this is enough, then perhaps give it a shot. I can't not mention, however, it is smoke free. So, yeah...off topic slightly...time to get on that one Indianapolis!! I, for one, was glad to leave the d-bag bars behind in college; I suggest you do the same. So, hopefully you'll either find this useful, or you're offended. If it's the latter, enjoy your evening at Brothers.

I'll give it a 2.5- the extra half star is for the smoke free environment Went to Broad Ripple after a Pacers game last weekend, and were looking for a place that served food late, and preferably smoke-free. And there in the distance... yes, Brother's Bar and Grill can accomodate. AMBIENCE- I'm guessing that this place has a sister location, and/or was started at the University of Wisconsin (Madison) as there was a sign posted stating Brother's Bar UW Madison. Interesting set up, there's a bar in the middle, with plenty of room surrounding it for people to mix and mingle, and tables on the outskirts of the area. In the back they have pool tables, and the place seemed to be decked out with car apparel (firestone, oil, etc...). My friend inferred it had to do with the Indy 500. They also had tvs all around, though they didn't seem to be that huge. SERVICE- the place was pretty packed, but we managed to get a table. The lady helping us was nice, but seemed like she was on speed. We'd flag her down, ask her a question, and she'd run off to get the answer. At least she was attentive. MENU- typical bar and grill fare. Sandwiches, appetizers, and a couple entrees. I'll leave it at that. FOOD- A couple of us weren't starving, so we rocked a few appetizers- chilli cheese fries and jumbo pretzels. My one friend ended up ordering a burger and fries. Two of my friends cannot eat pork, and we were suprised to learn that the chilli cheese fries come with bacon on them. Luckily we caught the server in time to have her request to put the bacon on the side. The fries were good, but nothing earth shattering. For $9, I was expecting a mountain of fries, but instead saw a serving good for about 2-3 people. The pretzels were decent, though you only get 3. They came with a cheese dipping sauce, and a weird "white mustard." Yeah, I've never seen a white mustard. My friend seemed to enjoy his burger and fries well enough, but when you've been drinking, a lot of food can tast good that wouldn't otherwise. OVERALL- based solely on the food, I wouldn't go back. And since I don't drink, there really isn't much to get me to come back. I suppose if my friends wanted to go drinking, to save myself from smelling like smoke, I might come here, but only under those circumstances. Celebrity Rating- Creed

  • Keith W.

This rating comes with a caveat. It is a 3-star rating in that it EXACTLY met my expectations. Which is to say, on a Friday night, around midnight, I expected it to be a sea of drunken college kids, especially since the NCAA basketball playoffs had just begun. It was the last stop of the night for me and a drinking buddy, and we figured "what the hell..." Typical college sports bar. Show ID at the door, wade shoulder to shoulder through a throng of drunken college kids - plenty of frattys and sorostittutes to keep you amused, and actually quite a lot of young, decent men and women who just wanted to party and watch the games. We made our way to the bar, without hassle, ordered a pitcher of cheap, domestic beer, and found two random stools at the end of one of those long, standing bars. The people around us were loud, and drunk, but they were mostly yelling at the screens. If you happened to be a fan of the same team, there was lot of that instant "we're buds!" back-slapping and toasting. If you were rooting for opposing teams, it seemed like good-natured trash-talking. The place was really, really packed and there seemed to be a pretty even mix of guys to girls. I saw plenty of drunken flirting and soon-to-be-regretted hook-ups forming, but that's what college and college bars are for. Even though my drinking buddy and myself were older than the mainstream crowd, we didn't get any weird looks or bad vibes. I'm not saying I would seek this place out every weekend, but if you want to wallow in a high-energy sea of young adults (I use that term only in an age of consent meaning) and that general good-time vibe that comes with being a clueless college kid (possibly drinking on someone else's credit card), then go wander through Brothers at midnight on a Friday night. You may actually have a good time, and remember that you, too, were once a carefree college kid, and that drunk frat guys having a few too many and deciding to dance very poorly on a very public stage is always funny.

The atmosphere isn't the greatest, but I usually prefer to go here for a drink when I'm in Broad Ripple because it's NON-SMOKING. The specials are usually pretty decent too.

  • Yvonne M.

My roommate and I came here after working out and we shared a side of cheese fries and an entree of 4 mini cheeseburgers that comes with chips. The cheese fries are fantastic with 2 different kinds of cheese melted on top with bacons and green onions! We sat on the bars enjoying our food and watching IU basketball against Nebraska. It's a great place to chill, enjoy the food, and the sports channel.

Not the worst place in the world to grab a burger and a beer, unless its broad ripple party time. It's probably cool if you have a pre-distressed baseball cap and are 21, though. I do not and am not. I'd rather go to bdubs for sports bar shenanigans. But really, this rating is based pretty much on their annoying, hard to follow, print ads.

One of my favorite spots in Broad Ripple! Good service, good bar food, and good specials every day of the week. There are many TV's, pool tables, darts, Golden Tee, and trivia on Wednesday nights. It's always a full house on the weekends, but even then it's a great place to just hang out with friends.

. We have a Brothers in Columbus, OH and I have never been there. Me and some girls were trolling about Broad Ripple looking for drinks and dancing. After much strolling without success we walked into Brothers just to drink. There were people here but it wasn't overwhelming then all of a sudden we were hit by a tsunami of 22 year old bros in suits. It was at that point when I knew to pound my long island and kick rocks.

Note: I originally mistakenly published this under Average Joe's. Sorry, Average Joe's! My husband and I went over to BROTHERS to watch the U.S./England game. Yes, they have lots of TVs. And it's probably a good place to watch a big game with a huge group of people. But I was surprised to find the service was not particularly friendly, and the vegetarian food options are sparse. In 2010, what bar doesn't have vegetarian versions of their burgers?

    (2)

Service was lousy. Food was pretty good. Beers took forever to arrive. Waitress dropped one of the four meals ordered. Full delay on the one meal. Won't be back.

Ummm.....NON SMOKING and $2..00 PINTS ON TUESDAY !! Really...a fun place..decent sized...not too big...not to small...well designed for viewing sports...a good craft brew selection.....not a GREAT craft brew selection....would like to see a few more local brews ! Certainly one of the best beer selections in Indy ! Food....yuck...burgers (had them three times) are really awful...fries..pretty good...and i like the cajun dust stuff they put on them....pretzels are great...much better than some of the overly greased versions found at other establishments. Gatore balls are dry ......People rave about the chicken nachos ! Service...excellent at the bar....some terrific and fun bartenders of both the male and femal variety...handsome guys...but....kinda rather have the cute female variety ! If Kate..Mel...etc are working..you will have a good time ! While others have compalined about the table service...which is awful throughout broad ripple...and others have mentioned the weak drinks....I can tell you from the cringed expressions on my friends faces....ummm...their drinks were NOT weak in the least ! Why BR doesn't go smoke free is beyond me.... If you don't like the drunken idiot crowds on the weekends....don't go....but do come here if you like craft beer at reasonable prices....

  • Katie B.

Good drink specials and an all right place to watch a game on a weeknight. Don't bother on a weekend unless you're still in college or love listening to loud 90s pop rock. Veggie food options are nonexistent unless you want something fried. It's one of the few smoke free options in Broad Ripple though so sometimes it's a worthy pick.

Outdoor Patio is nice during the evening and the waitresses were very friendly! My 2 dogs were allowed to sit in their own chairs at our table, which I know they enjoyed all the attention they received from the staff and from people walking by the patio! I don't watch sports, which is all they had blaring on all the TV's inside the restaurant. People were nearly shouting across their tables because the TV's were so loud.

The most crowded bar I've ever been to. If I was 21 I would definitely visit this bar. It's extremely fratty or college type which is cool if you're younger. But, it gets extremely crowded and is very difficult to get a drink unless you squeeze through people with ease. The service here on Sunday day is really, really bad. Servers just loiter around the bar and give little thought of even coming to check on you or bring you a menu when you sit down. During football season, I had to go get a waitress at the bar after sitting for 10 minutes without any service. During that time period, I actually saw our waitress (that we got later) and we made eye contact a few times as I was trying to let her know that I was interested in actually ordering food or a drink. In summary: the bar is very nice on the inside and at a perfect location. It could be run so much better. But, it's always crowded and the demand is high so I guess it really doesn't matter how they run it.

Dear Indiana state legislators, Please enact a statewide smoking ban so I don't have to set foot in bastions of douchebaggery like Brothers. Truly, I hate places like this--the half-assed attempt to create ambiance by installing a million flat-panel TeeVees and tacking up a few random sports jerseys and old-school tin advertising signs that probably came from TGIFriday's reject pile. And don't even get me started on the drinks, which are so weak and sugary they probably wouldn't pass muster at a junior high party. The only reason I went here is because we wanted to shoot a game or two of pool and since I still have the remnants of a cold, smoky Alley Cat didn't seem like a good option. I ordered a Cape Cod with the vodka on special and it tasted like a glass of KoolAid. The server was nice, though, and it wasn't too loud at least. In any state or city with a smoking ban, Brothers would only rate two stars. So please, dear legislators, join the rest of the country in rejecting that false argument that smoking bans are bad for business so I don't have to resort to drinking in cultural vacuums like Brothers and I don't have to mislead the Yelp community with inflated ratings. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Emily

I'm rating this as a bar only as I've never had the food. I freaking hate this place. It's soooo packed on Friday and Saturday nights and soooooo douchey. The drinks were overpriced, the bartenders are barely competent, and the crowd is a-holes. If my friends want to start off the night here (and it's a start of the night, not a middle or end of the night type place) I go straight to OPTs and meet them later when they're done getting shoved around, having no place to sit, and having to wait 20 minutes to get near the bar to order a drink.

    (1)
  • Thu N.

So I was really torn on how many stars to give this place.....the food sucks(don't get the gator balls-they sound neat but are gross dry balls of chicken - nothing more), if anything major is going on it's impossible to find a seat, the drinks are weak, the staff is discriminatory and all rules do not apply to all customers. I'll tell ya more about that later. But...the good things are they usually always have some good drink special and the bar is NON-SMOKING! YAh! As of right now....some highlights of what's on the specials are as follows... Mon: $6 any pitcher, $12 100oz beer towers Tues: $1 well drinks,$2 ANY pint including matilda, imports, microbrews. Weds: $1 tacos, $3 margaritas Thurs: $1 burgers,$4 domestic pitchers, $1.50 long islands and well drinks Fri: $3 Olive mixers and $2 bombs(4-7pm 1.50 sliders) Sat:$3 bacardi mixers, $3.50 coors bottles. Sun: $15 domestic buckets, bloody mary bar, $12 beer towers You should always call them to confirm specials as they use to have weds wing specials and we got a huge group of people craving wings to meet there and even though signs were still posted around the bathrooms, by the dart machines and on the tables they told us they stopped running the special this week and would not honor it! Made me look like a fool for telling everyone there was a great wing special! Onto the story that made us boycott them for a while and reason they only get 2 stars instead of 3: my fiance and I were working out at cardinal fitness down the street at about 3pm on a Thursday afternoon. One of my girlfriends call to say she was in the area and wanted a drink. I suggested brothers and we walk over there. In my grungy workout outfit we sat and had a couple rounds. Then my fiance finished working out and we told him to meet us we'd have a drink ready for him then we can pay and go. He walked in....no one was at the door to check his ID so he sat down with us. As soon as he sat down one of the staff came running over and said he had to leave because he was dressed inappropriately. What??!!?!? He was dressed nicer than us. His workout outfit actually matched and mine was mismatched but I was allowed there without any problems! So annoying when bars play favortism to girls...and the rules don't apply to everyone. UGH

This was a great place to enjoy some beers and watch the games during March Madness. I highly recommend the soft pretzels with horseradish mustard and beer cheese dipping sauces. I did like that they had more than the typical Bud, Miller and Coors on tap with several Indiana microbrews and my beloved New Belgium Ranger IPA! All in all it's a Broad Ripple party bar, with a sports bar lean. I would recommend it if you're looking for a place to play pool or catch the game. It does get bonus points for being non-smoking though!

Well...the food is average bar food. The beer selection is decent. The atmosphere is typical college, sports bar. I was here football Saturday afternoon and had the place to myself. Not much else to say...

I'm pretty familiar with Brother's in terms of nightlife and what to expect from the bar since I went to Purdue and there is one located on the campus bar strip. The bar franchise is decent. I wouldn't necessarily seek this bar out as a first choice of entertainment, although I do have friends that beg to differ with my opinion, but there are definitely better bars in the area; or even right across the street. The service is mediocre at best. The bartenders and servers don't seem very happy and more so acting like it's a chore to make you a drink. The drinks are semi expensive, but you expect it as being a norm for drinks in the Broad Ripple strip. $5 for a draft Two Hearted. Bros will be bros, and hoes will be hoes, and if you're looking to bond and mingle with either of those creatures, then I'd give Brother's a walk-in. I wouldn't settle for Brother's as your first choice for an adventurous night out.

Just a disclaimer: I've been out of college for a little more than a year and I've yet to discover why college bars are allegedly 'so terrible'. Now that you've been warned about my background, allow me to commence. I like Brother's, umkay? They've got great drink specials on a Friday night (like a buck for a couple different kinds of shots and cheap domestics) and the bro's aren't really that hard to deal with. It's also smoke free, big plus. Honestly, the only thing that I can see that's really wrong with Brother's is that bro's do come to Brother's (see how they use the name to attract their target market? Clever, right?). If that's a deal breaker for you, don't bother. Just keep walking and try to find somewhere in B-Rip that's bro-free on a weekend (good luck). My advice: don't be so caught up in being cool and original, or whatever it is that people do. Just go out and have a good time! Brother's is a good place to do it, and for not that much money. Hell, even if you aren't poundin' down Jaeger bombs with the bro's, you can always watch them and have a good laughsie. I give it three stars for letting me remember some fun times, but mostly for having 2 dollar pints of Bell's (props to John A. for the mention on that one).

The best parts is the smoke free environment. This is when people aren't smoking at the pool tables. (It happens) It is usually too loud to carry on a conversation. Often times will find yourself leaving after a little while if you are there for the nightlife.

Well....finally a smoke-free bar in Broadripple!!! This place is pretty big and it just replaced the old trophy shop...oh memories. There is no much to this bar, other than a huge bar area in the middle, with pool tables and booth seats on the small upper level...where you won't find many bros or hos...(they are smashed up against the bar area) The age range here is simple. 21-25. I'd be surprised to see anyone over 25 to be honest, cuz I didn't see any!! They have a kitchen in the back, but I did not dine there...wonder if it's good. All in all, u can walk around pretty easily, even when it's crowded, and it's smoke free! What more could you want, more popped collars?

I would of gave a 3-4 star prior to my experience at Brothers on Saturday, March 26, 2011. Knowing that Brothers does take reservations (even though for some reason it says no on here.....they verified, as well as their website, that they do), I decided it would be a lot of fun to celebrate my 26th birthday there, especially because I had 30 friends joining me in my celebration! Oh boy, was I wrong! My boyfriend called the week of March 14, 2011. The girl that answered the phone advised him that the lady that does all the reservations wasn't in, and she took his name and number to have her call back when she got in. She called later that day, and he explained we have 30 people, and would like reservations on March 26. They talked about what section we wanted, etc. She confirmed that would be fine, and even double-checked with her manager to make sure they could accommodate a party that large. Awesome, we have a reservation...perfect! My boyfriend decided to call the week of March 21, just to confirm and make sure we still had a reservation and there wasn't any problems or anything. Confirmed with one of the manager's that we still had reservations, and he even said "see you Saturday at 6:30!" I will say, we were a little worried with Butler being in the tourney still, and the game being on Saturday, that we would have an issue with our reservations, but the manager confirmed that we would def still have our reservation. So, we get there at about 6:15......they were at capacity, so we waited for about 5 mins. My boyfriend lets the "door guy" know that we had reservations at 6:30. His response was "Ok? I can't do anything about it. You'll have to talk to the manager." My boyfriend responded with "ok, totally fine, just wanted to let you know." They "door guy" just looked at him with a disgusted look. 20 minutes later the "manager" finally comes over. Looks at the security guard, not us, and says "we aren't taking reservations today." My boyfriend says, "well, we made reservations two weeks ago." Manager says, "uhh, well sorry, no reservations today." This is when I start getting a little angry. Not only did nobody advise us of this, but also the manager was a complete JERK. So I calmly say "I don't understand. Why would two people, one being a manager, confirm us twice that we have a reservation for today at 6:30." He responds with "well, I don't know, but I did advise all my managers of no reservations today."--with an attitude mind you. I respond with "well, can you at least look at your reservation book and SEE that our name is there." He says, "Ha, I guess." So, he walks away. Comes back about 15 minutes later, and just says "NOPE, nothing. We took no reservations this week."-still with an attitude. I respond with "well, it was 2 weeks ago idiot." (getting a little more angry due to his attitude) He says "nope, nothing then either." I respond with "this is bullS***" He says "ha, nope, not at all." I said, "can I please talk to another manager here" He said, "nope, I'm the only one." I asked if he wanted to see the call log on our phone showing that we called. He just looked at me. I advised him that this place sucks, and so does he. He just walked away. As he walked away, he said something to two "security guards", and they were laughing, and came and asked the "door guy" "what was that about." The "door guy" responds with "that crazy girl" as he points at me. AWESOME customer service huh? Now, mind you, if they would of called us earlier in the week, and let us know that since Butler was playing on Saturday, that they weren't going to be able to do reservations, I would of been totally understanding. Not only was the "manager" rude, he never apologized once, or even heard us out about how many people we spoke with starting 2 weeks ago. We all agreed that we don't think he was even a manager. What manager wears an apron around his waste, a ball-cap, shorts, t-shirt and dirty tennis shoes, and comes over with a towel tucked in his shorts, and is all sweaty? It's clear that whoever the general manager is, lacks the skills of teaching his managers, and staff common courtesy, and good service. Everybody that I have told this story too has not only agreed, but is going to make sure that all of their friends, family members, etc., know the service Brothers gives. Most even agreed that their wait staff is rude, as well as the security guards! How embarrassing for the owner of Brothers to have such disgusting people representing his business. Peace out Brothers, YOU SUCK! I felt like it was very necessary to advise corporate of the situation that occurred. A 1/2 hour after I emailed them I received a phone call. Josh, from corporate was amazing to deal with! He was so nice, and very apologetic. He said they were very embarrassed of what happened. He wasn't like most corporate headquarters who say sorry and that's all! So, I must say I give corporate 5+++ stars!!!

Good: Smoke-free. Beer choices. Big windows. Not good: Lots of TVs, but only played 2 channels when I was there. Aren't there like 500 sports channels nowadays? Not particularly my crowd of people. Very few vegetarian options, so I won't be there anytime soon with my wife. (Can we get a veggie burger at the very least? Please?)

You can't beat $2 pints. Can't. Doesn't matter if that special is on Tuesday's. They have a good beer selection on tap, the bartenders are fast, and I can usually find a seat--even if it's crowded. The eye-candy is sublime and if you are single, there isn't a better place to be. My only complaint would be that it's really, really loud. It sounds more like a nightclub than a pub/restaurant. But, other than that, it's a good place to people watch and catch a ball game.

Broad Ripple. Hahaha... only in the mid-west! Anyway, on a visit from Los Angeles, we were told that this area was THE place to go after a disappointing night downtown the night before. It did seem to have more patrons than any other place we'd visited, but there were still plenty of seats around - something us Angelinos aren't used to ANY night of the week! I would be completely indifferent about this place but it was a $2 pint night Tuesday. I thought that meant domestic drafts or whatever, but no! After ordering a round of Stellas and Guinness, our bill was TWELVE BUCKS!!! Awesome!! THAT is something you don't find in LA. Thank you Brother's for making getting drunk on a 10-spot a real possibility!

I like brothers because its non-smoking. The bar gets pretty busy. They have decent drink specials. One thing that bothered me: I saw they sold 100 oz towers of beer. I asked for one, he said those are only on sale on Sundays. So I said I don't care if its on sale, I'll pay full price, I want one. The waiter said no, we only sell them on Sundays. Ummm....ok so now you're not going to make money on that? Weird. We got $5 pitchers (thursday) instead so I know we would have spent more money than we actually did. We thought that was weird so we left shortly after. The waiter also took a little bit, but not horribly slow. Its clean and its smoke free. It has outdoor seating....its a decent bar.

Went here a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed it. The chili cheese fries are unbelievable. Seriously - try it. The pretzels are fantastic too - big hunks of pretzel with beer cheese soup and some kind of peppercorn ranch. I think I had a burger for my meal which shows that the entree wasn't as memorable as the appetizers. The dirty martini I ordered wasn't bad either. Decent for a lower end place. Love that it's smoke free. Under 21 crowd allowed until 9pm. Also, we had a decent size group and there was no grumping about splitting the bill.

I have mixed feelings about this place but overall what tipped it to the 3 star mark is the fact that it's the ONLY smoke free place in broadripple to grab a drink. Get with it Indianapolis, smoke free is the way ALL bars should be. The beers are reasonably priced and the atmosphere is your typical sports bar/casual atmosphere with tons of TV's playing live events, pool tables, video games, darts, etc. The food however, is absolutely awful. Usually you dont have much to complain about with a menu thats 75% fried food and youve been drinking beers but im telling you, eat before you come. I have tried several things here and everything ive gotten has been over-fried, and lacked any decent flavor. The place is kind of strange too in that they sometimes want to enforce a dress code that seems out of place. I went with a buddy to watch an NBA playoff Cav's game and my larger hispanic friend was not allowed in because he was wearing a basketball jersey????? DURING AN NBA PLAYOFFS GAME YOU"RE NOT ALLOWED TO WEAR A LEBRON JERSEY INTO A BAR?????? if that makes sense to you i gues i'm the fool but i mean come on. Nevertheless, cheap beer, smoke free atmosphere, and a decent social scene is what warranted 3 stars in my opinion.

Wednesday is Cheap Chicken and $2 domestic bottles.(along with other things) Every chicken item that's not an entree is $6. Showed up around 2pm and was the only customer in the place. I had a hankering for wings after being out of the country for a week. The service was great and the wings were Brothers' regular fare. Not great, not bad but satisfying for the price. If you're craving wings and beer, Brothers is for you on Wednesdays. You'll fill your belly with chicken and yellow beer at the right price.

Smoke free, great prices, and good times with friends. I had the normal, Bacon, Blue Cheese, Ketchup burger. Came out with cheddar, sent it back, but the waitress didn't argue with me like the one at Moon Dog. I am a smoker, but I don't like smoke around me while I eat, so it was nice to enjoy a meal and actually taste it. I hope this place sticks around for a while.

This place sucks. Our awful waitress lost my debit card and tried to blame it on me. She brought the tab without my debit card that I said that she had already given it back to me earlier. Why would you bring my debit card back before I close out my tab??? The management did nothing to help but ask that I pay with another card. They took my name and number and said that they'd call me after the place closed and the people were out (it was a very busy night). There was no call so I called them. The guy put me on hold for a few minutes while he looked, came back on the phone and said "No luck" and hung up. I was visiting from out of town and luckily the toll roads now accept credit cards. I had no way of accessing cash because our bimbo waitress lost my debit card. The service was horrible and the place sucked. If you could give negative stars I would give this place a -5. PS: Don't forget your popped collar when going to this chachi infested meat-head bar.

Meh. The food is acceptable, but nothing great. It gets an extra half star for being smoke-free. The one thing I've noticed is that on game day, the television volume is so loud it's impossible to even hold a conversation. I'm all for the atmosphere being festive, but this forces you to watch the game in near silence because you can't hear what anyone's saying to you.

Frat boys will be frat boys. Indianapolis has more sports bars than any other major city i've ever been. this is one of those and not much else. cheap drinks which is a plus, mediocre pub food but the clientele is just trashy. i get it. it's in a part of town frequented by college kids so some there's a certain aspect of youth to be realized but this place is just blah.

The best thing about this basic neighborhood bar is it is smoke free. But in Broad Ripple this might just be all a place needs. This joint is packed on Friday and Saturday nights, and I must admit you can probably catch me there for a bit if i am in Broad Ripple.

The waitstaff is very sweet. The interior is always clean when I've been there. Great food too. :)

Sisters, Brothers, Everyone is welcome! Brothers is alright with me. It's in a prime location in Broad Ripple, directly across from Kilroy's and Lava. This bar is truly a bar, complete with wood seats and sticky floors. The open, garage style windows are a nice touch. I went on a Thursday evening, and they had $2 Jack Daniels, which will always be a winner in my book. The food was less than great, which is why I can't give a higher rating. You can tell that food is not the priority in this spot, and rightfully so. I imagine people come more for the drinks and a good time than for a stellar culinary experience. Still, For $10 nachos, I expect to be satisfied. I certainly recommend Brother's Bar & Grill, just eat before you come.

Had lunch here yesterday, our first visit. And it was so good. It was a tad pricey, ($8-$13 a plate) appetizers were just as expensive. The menu is huge. It took us a while to figure out what we wanted. The server, I think got a bit frustrated with us. After his third stop by he asked offered to help us pick. Going to a new place with a big menu can be overwhelming, when your goal is to get something good. There was no one else in the place, but I think Monday's are slow for the town as a whole. We (a friend and I) loved the meal and can't wait to go back. I had the burger with bbq pulled pork and bacon on it (forget what it's called) and sweet potato tots. Friend had an ultimate BLT with their house chips.

We only go here because they have pool tables, which aren't level and the last time we played our cue ball had a chip in it. The table was so messed up that the ball would completely change trajectory mid-course, making it very hard to pocket shots. Also, their beer always tastes skunky, as if the taps have never been cleaned. I suggest only ordering beer, though, because their mixed drinks have virtually no liquor in them. At least with a beer you can tell you're getting the alcohol you paid for. Although last time we were there my fiance felt his beer had been diluted. They have good specials, so it's great for people who don't care what their $10 pitcher of beer tastes like.

Love this place. Great food, great service. (The pretzel app did turn hard quickly). One disclaimer is that its VERY LOUD. Not a big negative for fans, but NOT a place for conversation.

  • Julia C.

The boyfriend and I have only been there a few times for late a lunch on the weekends. We like to sit next to the open window (sliding doors? they are freakin huge windows) and people watch while we eat and drink some beers. So far we've tried all of the wraps (BBQ Chicken wrap is very tasty) except for the Queso chicken (next on my list), chili fries and the Californian burger. It's an ok-burger, but extremely messy to eat and the pico de gallo makes the burger bun mushy after a while. We've never had a problem with service the few times we've been there. And it's probably because we are there during the non-busy times. Based on the other reviews, I would definitely steer away from coming here during party hours.

  • Gavin P.

Good, classic, easy-going, clean, friendly bar. What more can be said? Too clean for a dive bar, too many college kids to be a lounge, numerous sports programming on all the time. Love it! Great place to kick back after work.

  • D h.

a huge place with not horrible food, mostly everything you'd want to drink, and open air on nice days, but something is lacking. large square bar in the middle with high top tables surrounding it. outdoor seating to the west and pool tables in the southeast corner. a typical broad ripple bar on thursday/friday/saturday nights. decent place to stop in the afternoon of a nice day when the windows are open.

  • Courtney S.

I've never been a big fan of the Broad Ripple scene. I grew out of it at 22 (I'm now 24) although I do occasionally miss the general weekend debauchery if I want some food, beer and a sports bar feel, I'm usually all for a local dive bar. It's much easier. However, I found myself in the mood for Team Bingo so dragged some people out to Brothers. Keeping it mind it was a slow Tuesday, I was surprised at how roomy it felt. I actually really liked it. I didn't get any food but it looked good; no doubt typical greasy pub food with little complexity or real surprises. What I was really happy about were the drink prices (and selection). I had $2 beers all night. Service could've been better but I'll cut our guy some slack because he was running around like crazy and appeared to be the only one. If you're looking for a few drinks on a budget and something to do, I highly recommend Team Bingo (or maybe Trivia) and taking advantage of the specials. Or you can just go to people watch. It's not worth a long drive out of your way but if you're in the neighborhood, stop in, you'll have a good time. (Disclosure: definitely be prepared for the annoying college kids. It's inevitable.)

  • Lauren L.

Brother's is your run-of-the-mill college and twenty-somethings bar on the weekends and I do not much care for that scene anymore. I just want a table and accessible drink ordering with probably some mozz sticks, is that so much to ask?? We have met some friends there a few times and it's always so crowed, music is too loud, and the drinks take forever plus they are too expensive per the alcohol ratio. I'm only 25 and I can't even handle how nutso it is! Once we went on a night where is was not busy and that was a little bit more enjoyable. We were at a pool table in the back but it was still slow service.

  • Alicia F.

Ended up here late one night with some friends after bar-hopping in Broad Ripple. This bar is just the way I like 'em--casual, roomy, a little divey but not dirty, and completely unpretentious. And they have pool tables, which is way more fun IMO than just sitting at a table sipping on drinks all night. There seems to be a different drink special each day of the week, and I think one of those is wings, although I can't remember which night. As for the other reviews mentioning poor service, I can't really speak to that as we went to the bar for all of our drinks (of our own volition, not because we were forced to). Bartender was always quick to see us and friendly when we needed a refill. Was it loud? Yes, but then, it's a bar in a popular area. If you want quiet, go find a wine bar or have cocktails at somewhere more upscale.

  • Domonic B.

Stopped here while bar hopping in Indianapolis. We stayed here for two drinks. I must say the bartender was great! I ordered a cherry bomb & a bazooka joe's. Both drinks were great. It was a bit empty in here but I here it has certain nights where it's busy. I guess our night coming thru wasn't one of them lol. I didn't try any food here but the drinks were good and well priced & the bartender was nice & have great service. I.wanna give this a 3.5'but that's not an option so I'll bump it to a 4. When I'm in Indy again, I'll definitely give it another visit and get food as well. I feel like food has to be reviewed.

A lot has changed since my last visit which was at least a couple years ago...and not for the better. Is this still a sports bar?? Lots of flat screen TVs which isn't unexpected for a sports bar, but nearly all played videos of a neon backdrop with a black shadowy figure dancing while other music blaring throughout the bar were accompanied by the actual music video (like the ones MTV used to play back in the day). I can now say I've seen the videos to 2 Chainz - Birthday Song, Miley Cyrus dancing with her arms up, and multiple with David Guetta. If you're looking for an escape from basketball games during March Madness, you'll find refuge here. For a Sat. night, there wasn't much of a crowd. However, it was an unusually long wait, maybe 30 minutes, before a sever popped up to take our drink order. Nice server, but it was a disservice to get a glass of diet Coke when I ordered rum & diet. Oh, I should know better than to order a mixed drink here. Overall, very confusing vibe here. Several tables to sit at but what's the point of tables when the music is blaring so loud you can't even hear yourself talk, let alone person sitting next to you. May as well clear out the tables, hang up some strobe lights, and call it a dance club. I vow to never return. Decided I'm too old for bad drinks and deafening music.

Now that Kilroys has lured all the douchebags away from Brothers, I go here now and then for their $2 pint night due to their large tap list. The quality of that special, however, has rapidly deteriorated. First of all, I'm not sure how often they clean their tap lines, if ever. I had a Boston Lager on 2 different visits that was just plain disgusting, and I'm usually a big fan. I also had a rialsplitter that was not only gross, but flat. They also recently made the decision to exclude indiana beers from pint night, because apparently they hate us and freedom. On top of that, I've been a few times where their beer supply is absolutely wiped out. I'm talking over 50% of their selection being unavailable, despite them not being busy. When that happened, I decided to get a mixed drink. That was also a mistake, because their mixed drinks are among the weakest I've ever had. Also, their service is downright atrocious. Bad, apathetic service seems to be the norm here. I even saw a waitress's...lady bit...flop out once, and was still disappointed in the slow, awful service. I will say that the food is pretty OK. They have great food specials, and the gator balls are fantastic. Still...this place sucks.

This place from the outside looks cool but their customers tend to be very rude. I went there with a friend and had a few drinks. I thought its was unusual that we were not served (or spoke to) by their staff for 20minutes. It was somewhat empty so I really did not understand untill we decided to play some pool. The girl I was with asked if we could use the table. One of their "regulars" told her "you don't belong here nigger" . We decided to tell the staff instead of making a scene. They proceeded to not only kick us out but as we were leaving we saw their staff high five the girl who said it. This place looks nice but I will never go there again. The best thing about this place is you don't have to go there.

Gotta love smoke free Indy! Also, the reason why I love this place is for their wraps and sweet potato tater tots. That and a hard cider is a recipie for a good time. When I was in college I used to get a buffalo chicken wrap from the cafeteria, I know, gross right? But seriously, our university cafe was really good and operated by Sodexo, those people really knew what they were doing. The buffalo wrap at Brother's is awesome and since I'm a wimp and can't handle too much buffalo, they go light on the sauce and give me extra ranch for dipping. I've at there twice in the past month. Great bar food and good place to start the night. Their menu has some healthy options as well and next time I want to try one of their burgers. As a bar, I like it because it's so big and never overly crowded. Good location and great for outdoor dining. Pet friendly patio.

So ever since kilroy's opened brothers seem to get worse and worse. The service there is awful. Every time I go to brother and sit at a table I spend at least 20 minutes to be acknowledged and another 10 waiting on my drink. This is one of the worst establishments I have ever been to. I surely will never go back here again. I'd rather wait in line or for a table at kilroy's, than go to brothers to spend my money.

To be honest, the only reason I frequent Brother's is because it is non-smoking. I hate going out in B-Rip and coming home smelling like an ash tray. C'mon Indy, pass the no smoking ban already! This is my go-to place if I want to hang with friends and not inhale tons of second hand smoke. The drinks are weak, the service can be pretty bad, and it's full of old frat guys and screaming bachelorettes. But it's SMOKE FREE and that is the biggest perk of all.

Great sports bar. Really enjoyed watching some March Madness games here! Saturday night one of the managers bartends and he just might be the nicest and most outgoing bartenders I have ever met. Props to the bar for playing games and then turning up the music when they are over and letting people have fun.

Well...the food is average bar food. The beer selection is decent. The atmosphere is typical college, sports bar. I was here football Saturday afternoon and had the place to myself. Not much else to say...

    (4)
  • Mike V.

Yikes. two-words: college bar. but, if you are a guy out hunting with your best wingmen (sorry, I'm happy taken), definitely worth a look from outside. It definitely has the potential to be a target-rich environment.

  • Cara E.

The best thing about this basic neighborhood bar is it is smoke free. But in Broad Ripple this might just be all a place needs. This joint is packed on Friday and Saturday nights, and I must admit you can probably catch me there for a bit if i am in Broad Ripple.

It does get bonus points for being non-smoking though!

a huge place with not horrible food, mostly everything you'd want to drink, and open air on nice days, but something is lacking. large square bar in the middle with high top tables surrounding it. outdoor seating to the west and pool tables in the southeast corner. a typical broad ripple bar on thursday/friday/saturday nights. decent place to stop in the afternoon of a nice day when the windows are open.

  • Chelsea K.

Good, classic, easy-going, clean, friendly bar. What more can be said? Too clean for a dive bar, too many college kids to be a lounge, numerous sports programming on all the time. Love it! Great place to kick back after work.

Love this place. Great food, great service. (The pretzel app did turn hard quickly). One disclaimer is that its VERY LOUD. Not a big negative for fans, but NOT a place for conversation.
