I'm very disappointed that the owners of this establishment allow their customers to eat disgusting Mexican food. They reheat dishes or perhaps refry food if it wasn't eaten the day before. For much better food (although they don't have a beer license) go to El Rancherito which is north on Michigan St. in New Chicago!

The owner of this place doesn't exactly care when they screw up your order. I've had 3 mistakes on past orders and all I got was "sorry..." and it wasn't genuine. The ONLY good thing about this place was Monday night...$1.25 taco night.....minus steak tacos...you can get any other meat for that price. The past few times I've ordered from them have been bad. The food was very greasy. The very last time we ate there howevehowever, it made my family sick. Don't even think about getting the quacamole. Hardly any flavor, overpriced, and not well blended. You get (really greasy) chips with a large order but the container of quac is the same exact size as the small...which costs almost $6. 00. In essence, you're paying $2.00 more just for greasy chips.

We have been here many times and have never had a bad experience. The dining room is clean, the staff is friendly, and the food has always been served in a reasonable amount of time and hot. The drinks have also been good and we have found it to be very affordable compared to other restaurants in the area.

This is my favorite sit-down Mexican restaurant in The Region. Everything I've ever ordered has always been fantastic. I usually go with their Chile con Carne. It's the best I've ever had and spiced just right. Tamales and burritos are also good, as are tostadas. And, their salsa is one of the best. They also make a really good blue margarita.

I've gone to San Pedro's off and on for a number of years and always enjoyed the place. Friendly staff and good food.

i almost didn't want to try this restaurant because of the other very bad review on here, but my boyfriend talked me into it because he had had it before and said it was good, plus they're on restaurant.com . So we decided to give it a try a few nights ago, and it was great! the service was friendly and quick, the food arrived quickly and it was fresh and delicious and served exactly as it was ordered. absolutely no complaints whatsoever with the food, and i am a huge fan of mexican food and I've had many different places that were just average. i definitely rate San Pedro's above most of the others! my only complaint is that the hostess seemed very annoyed about us using the restaurant.com certificate (since they have to call to verify them). i already have plans to return. hopefully the second experience is just as good!

Some of the best homemade mexican food you can get. The 3 tacos special is a great deal. The chips and salsa are awesome too! Great quality food and you can tell its authentic. We get their food to go at least one a week and they are really fast.

The food is just okay I ordered the 3 chicken tacos platter which includes rice and refried beans and the refried beans so happened to be the best part of meal. I was turned off after biting into one of my chicken tacos and feeling a bone still attached to the meat and that's a no-no as I had to shift through my other tacos to make sure no bones were in it. Other than that, the staff was friendly just wish there wasn't any bones it my food.

This is my second time here, and for some reason I don't think I was impressed with it the first time. My second visit was definitely worth the trip. The fideo soup they give you as a free appetizer was delicious. I got the burrito ranchero, it was very fresh and delicious as well. The service was excellent, and I can't wait to come back for dinner some other time. This is the place I will be going to when j want to sit down for some good, fresh Mexican food!!

Will not be returning... Waited at door to be seated while the hostess was oblivious to us. Another set of diners told their waitress about us, who then got the hostess to seat us. Service was not outstanding. Waitress could not pronounce and of the food names, and came to our table asking a follow question about an entree order we never placed. She has mixed up out table with the one next to ours. Food was average. No hot sauce on the tables. The best part of the meal was the complimentary soup at the beginning of the dining experience. Too bad it was downhill from there, I wanted to like it more.

GREAT FOOD! Everything was fresh, hot & delicious. The flavor was right on point. It wasn't crowded, we were seated & served quickly & dinner for two was only $20.22. I had forgotten what a great place this was, we are coming back more often.

So for a birthday lunch we ordered as we aways do. We are regular customers. Boy did they ever screw this order up and when we called to complain they set the phone down so we can hear them laughing "you take it- no, you take it ha ha . Not professional. We will rethink our Mexican restaurant order next time.

The food is great, the service is okay. This is my favorite local Mexican Restaurant. The Spicy Pork Tacos are my go to dish, but I have never had a bad meal here. The House Chips are better than the free basket you normally get, I recommend paying the dollar and getting a basket. The staff is friendly and they know us. If they were a little quicker and you were asked if you needed a refill, I would have given it 5 stars.

One of the worst Mexican restaurants I've ever been to, the food is absolutely terrible and way over priced. You're seriously better off eating Taco Bell, now that's bad. Save your money, don't bother with this place.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
