I have been driving pass this place for to long today was the day that I was ready to check this place out. I'm so happy that I stopped I have a amazing experience. Our food was great it was plenty to take home. We all enjoyed everything We even ordered a side order of pan cakes to make our brunch complete. My chicken a dumplings was so good. And my side okra and Mac and cheese. I also enjoyed the shopping area I was able to get a few gifts and some sale items Very nice store with lots of stuff to choose from I easily spent $60.00 before having my food. All was worth it. My waiter was on her A games great great great service ( Thitania) I really enjoyed me service today and will be back soon. maybe I will have some room for dessert next time.

My mother and I stopped at Cracker Barrel on our way home today. Our waitress asked what we'd like to drink; Mom ordered decaf coffee, and I asked for a Coke. The drinks came; mine tasted funny, not quite like diet, but there was definitely diet pop in there - the metallic aftertaste is a dead giveaway. When I mentioned to the waitress that I'd expected a non-diet Coke, she explained that there was something wrong with the lines in the pop dispenser, something about the two being mixed, and that until the lines were cleared, the regular and diet Cokes would continue coming out as a mixture. If this is true, it should have been mentioned up front - there are enough people who have serious problems with artificial sweeteners that this situation could have become a major problem. Fortunately, I just don't like the artificial stuff, so a replacement drink was good enough. Then there was my salad. Being allergic to tomatoes, I specifically ordered my grilled chicken Caesar salad without tomatoes. It arrived with tomatoes. Waitress brings a salad with tomatoes. I tell here there's a problem; she says, oh, she didn't write it down; would I like it redone? Yes, I would. She comes back a couple minutes later saying she's grabbed the wrong one, that while she hadn't written it down, she did tell the kitchen folks to leave out the tomatoes. One question - just how stupid do you think I am? She missed removing a couple of the tomatoes. Had I not noticed that, this could, again, have been a very serious situation. I don't expect a whole heck of a lot from Cracker Barrel. I don't ask for anything that's not on the menu. I don't ask for high-maintenance changes to menu items. All I ask for is that (1) I get what I asked for, and (2) I get it the way I ordered it. I don't believe that's asking too much.

Our server Bruce was awesome! Wish I could say the same for the cook! Ordered eggs over easy, got over cooked eggs that were like rubber!

I have been here a few times, never was impressed. Always took forever to get a table and their breakfast has always been sort of ok.

Brought my grandson here, I never saw him eat so fast, he said it was so good. Our server Ashley was fast getting the food to us and very nice and professional, will ask for again.

I came here with a group of friends on a Friday evening. We were seated almost immediately so that was nice. I wouldn't mind the "waiting area" in this store since they have a lot of interesting things to look at like moon pies-works well for someone that gets easily distracted like me.. Food Country Fried Steaks (comes with 2 sides) - the steaks were delicious because it was soo warm/hot/fresh and the sauce complements the meat well. Portion is huge because it comes with 2 sides. Good to share with another person or if you are big eater, this should be adequate as meal. Fried Fish (comes with coleslaw & steak fries & cornbread/biscuit) - option of cod or catfish, there's 4 pieces of fried fish so it might not be as filling if you share with another person, but good for one person. Sides -Hashbrown casserole - delicious, especially when it's warm! -Macaroni and Cheese - cheesy and good -cornbread - tasted just ok, tastes better when heated -biscuit-good and soft, I would go with the biscuit instead of the cornbread Portions: are average to huge Costs: expect to pay around ~$12+ for a filling meal Atmosphere: a home-like/family atmosphere, very laid back and spacious Customer Service: friendly waiters/waitresses/hostess *you pay at the store after you are done eating I don't live close to a Cracker Barrel store, but would come again just to browse/eat if I'm hungry...not sure i would come out of my way to eat here though..

Worst service ever!!! Placed a pick up order was told 10-15; got there was told I had to stand in line and pay first then they would start getting my order together! (Line was more than 12 people w/ only one check out lady) I finally paid for my order then waited 15 more mins to get my food. Items were missing that I had asked for during my telephone call which I waited like six mins to even place. Finally get my food being carried out to me almost flipped upside down; to get back to home and realize there's no gravy for my dry hamburger steak patty and an old sweet potato. Called to complain and the manager on duty was not any help; they need to be re trained!! I will not returned!!!!!

All I have to say is...if you have not had Cracker Barrel's Apple Dumpling Dessert, you are missing out on one of the WONDERFUL foods of the culinary arts! First of all, it was unexpectedly HUGE! No one person should be allowed to eat this by themselves. Second, it was sooooo....delicious and surrounded by a thick cobbler along with two nice sized scoops of vanilla bean ice cream! Our server was so sweet as well!

I have been coming to this Cracker Barrel for years and the reason I give it 3 stars is because you never know what you are going to get. Sometimes the service and the food are excellent, sometimes they suck. The best thing I can tell you is to try and get a server with at least two stars or more although that doesn't always guarantee a good experience either. But all in all the food is pretty good usually.

If you are looking for a great place to eat. This is your restaurant. This morning I had the Momma's breakfast. Btw, I always get this when I come here for breakfast. Another great choice is the chicken fried chicken, yummy! Everything is great here at the CB. I love the fact that they offer Sweet Tea! Not too many restaurants offer sweet tea unless you are in the south. Oh, I forgot to mention, they have the best pancakes around this area. When we visit the CB, we take home a bottle of their pancake syrup! A great restaurant chain that offers great food. Enjoy! #SeñorFood

Went here for lunch the other day with a friend. Apparently the air conditioning was not working properly in the dining room, as the air was close and almost had an odor to it that wasn't food. We were finally recognized by a wait staff member who wasn't even our server who took a beverage order. For some reason, my food came out in multiple deliveries with the fried okra being delivered last - and cold, like my entree. Couldn't find the server to send it back, so I ate it for fear of never seeing food again. My companion had to request condiments for her sandwich and the server had to be tracked down yet again for drink refills. The dining room gave the appearance of being messy and chaotic; I understand it was lunch time, but why sacrifice quality? I live quite near this Cracker Barrel, but will give it a very wide berth from now on.

The service was okay were handed the check before we were even halfway done. Kids burger was bland and overdone. The pancakes they bought out looked terrible and were hard and crunchy. Every other item on the menu is covered in gravy or fattening butter. The problem is sometimes you will get good food sometimes not. They way the pancakes looked they never should have been bought out. First time I left a restaurant hungry.

Dinner at Cracker Barrel close to the State line-- Hammond, Indiana. My wife had catfish, sweet potato, greens, mac & cheese, corn muffins. I had boneless homestyle fried chicken, salad, sweet potato, corn muffins. Enjoyed the meal: the salad was small, but fresh; the fried chicken was tender and tasty. The sweet potatoes and corn muffins took longer to arrive, but were fresh, hot and delicious when they did--so they were worth the wait to us. (Some patrons however prefer for their entire meal to arrive at the same time, so it might be wise to ask wait staff to bring the entire platter at the same time. Otherwise you might finish your entree well before your sides arrive...). Our server was pleasant and courteous on a busy night--which was appreciated by us as well.

I knew the place would be busy on a weekend, but DAMN!!! Called an order for carryout at 11:40am on a Saturday, was told 15-20 mins, arrived at 12 to pickup, food did not come out until 12:50pm and of course it was barely warm. However, the food is great, it re-heats well. I ordered pancakes and the double meat combo. Would go back again, but it'll be a while.

Worst. Place. EVER. I don't know what was worse, the food or the service. Waited more than 10 min for the sides that came with my meal. The tomato cucumber SALAD was a joke. 4 slices of cucumber with 3 cherry tomatoes a couple of diced onions and water with salt and pepper dressing. Sad fried chicken. Cold gravy with the biscuits and had to ask other people for more coffee. If i could give this place negative stars I would. Don't waste your time

Most of the food is incredibly delicious! Think of Grandma's cooking. I have been to this location at least five times in one month and have had outstanding customer service every visit. Everyone is happy to help you and I like that the manager is out on the floor helping too. The gift shop is really cute too. If you are there on a Sunday get the home style chicken with mash potatoes.

This location is my favorite, but the service that I received as of late is uncharacteristic, but yelp worthy nonetheless. I am patient with the Cracker Barrel as I understand that it is a popular restaurant. I am not typically bothered when they run out of my favorite, meat loaf. I am, however, bothered when they wait 30 minutes after I ordered only to return to my table to inform me that they have exhausted their meat loaf supply for the evening. I now have to wait an additional 30 minutes to eat because of this hiccup. Am I to believe that it took 30 minutes for my order to appear on the docket or am I to believe that my waitress took that long to go back to retrieve my order and just found out that the meat loaf was no longer available. Either way, the customer is the one left in a bind and at the very least the manager could have come to the table to acknowledge the hiccup. Where is Tom? This would not have happened if he were still there.

This location is pretty consistent. Service is prompt. The food is always good. Carry out is not always timely. But over all I almost always leave satisfied.

The blueberry pancakes are very good, better than most places, but they're not as good as the pecan pancakes!!

This review is based on a Sunday dining experience... We came at around 5pm, it was quite a wait, but we did indeed have a large party. They couldn't really accommodate such a large party but were nice enough to split us in two tables. At my table, there were four of us.. we also had our own server apart from the other half of our party... Having said that.. I felt like the service was fairly mediocre. The server was definitely very friendly, but never came back to offer us more water. Also, our meal was accompanied by biscuits and she completely forgot. We reminded her about the bread, but by the time they got to us we were pretty much done with our meal.... I ordered the grilled chicken, but when it was served to me it was far from warm or hot... I imagine it may have been sitting out for a while... but I was too hungry to send it back.. I am a big fan of Cracker Barrel, but not this one...

I had the sampler platter, and most of the food was pretty good, but the cheese grits tasted like they had mold in them or something. The place wasn't very busy, but the service was still horrible. Another person and I waited by the hostess station for several minutes, and nobody even acted like they cared. Finally the hostess waddled out and set us close to the entrance. My waitress seemed to be more interested in playing grab arse then passing attention to her customers. Really disappointed with the whole experience.

Bland and tasteless, the only thing good here is the gift shop if you're into those sort of nick knacks. The pork chops were utterly tasteless, not even salt was put on them. The meals of my friends were equally disappointing, well you try everything once, so this is my first and last time. Cracker Barrel I had high hopes, but never again.

Bad can we say horrible service. This restaurant wasn't overly crowded, yet it took two waitresses to take my order and two waitresses to get it wrong. I sat waiting for my breakfast sampler for over 15 minutes. Finally when my food came the eggs which were supposed to be scrambled, with cheese added at the waitresses suggestion, were something resembling an egg that was hard cooked thrown onto my plate, no cheese on them. I didn't see my waitress again until I was more than half finished with my meal. I told her about the eggs she said well yea I won't charge you for your drink, fair enough. It's not the waitresses fault unless she didn't write down my order correctly. Also the restaurant was freezing. I eat out alone all the time and noticed when your alone you get less great service.

I am literally obsessed with Cracker Barrel. We don't have these on the west coast, so I eat at one any time I get the chance. Our waiter was.... confused to say the least. He didn't know the menu, he was not very professional, and he forgot to bring me my biscuit, THE HORROR! I had chicken and dumplings, yummy, exactly what I wanted. I love the little store, I got a super cute Christmas ornament for under $2 so I was a happy camper. Great experience, except for the less than intelligent waiter.

A hit or miss on whether your food will be great or bland. Recently decided to never return here because of Cracker Barrels decision to stop carrying Duck Dynasty products. A company that does not support freedom of speech and religion will receive no income from me.

I do like this restaurant because you can shop while you wait to eat. I do like the food as well. I like their breakfast menu and like catfish. My sister knew people who worked there in the past and they said the level of cleanliness was strict. I just found out that an vindictive person in my past just got hired there so I will have to phone first before I go there or order out.

If could give zero stars I would. Was with 5 others, and for myself had only ordered 1 egg and bacon which took forever to come out and when it did was cold and runny. The biscuts and gravey they give every table had no taste and would of been used better as a kids glue and the grits my friend had were as solid as a jelly and actually held 3 slices of orange before sinking slowly. Everyone's meal also cold as well. It's sad when the person whose on a restricted diet's meal looked more appetizing than any of ours. Between the crying baby, crappy food and ever worse service had to be one of the worst breakfasts ever and the only reason I had a decent time was who I was with.

I have been here before many times but I never had a bad meal. Its not like your eating high concept food here its straight up all american heart attack food that taste delicious. On this occasion I ordered the Cowboy combo plate and got the ham with it. The smoked ham was amazing and it tasted so good. They give you alot of side dishes and I even got 4 biscuits with gravy. Obviously I couldn't eat it all. After a long day at the beach this was a perfect diner to have after.

For some reason my family decided that this was the place to go for Sunday Brunch. I voted No, but I was in the minority. I've been to Cracker Barrel 2 other times before and based upon both previous times I knew I would not want to go back... But in the end I lost out. It was so insanely busy, I must of said Pardon Me or Excuse me to the 100 people waiting around in the "Country Store" portion of the eatery. I have no idea what the time wait was as by the time I was able to find a parking spot ( I think I parked in Illinois to be honest ) when I got in, my family of 20 people were all sitting down in the restaurant. It took well over 15 mins before a Waiter came to the table. Meanwhile one of my Aunties kept telling us all the "wonderful" food we should order. I really did not want to eat anything there. But I was hungry and I was not paying, so I made an effort to find something that I had hoped was palatable. Although this was supposed to be Brunch, the menus were only Lunch/Dinner offerings. Another big thing I despised was this place is NOT SMOKE FREE. Apparently Indiana is ass-backwards with this concept. I was livid when I found out our family group was seated 2ft away from the Smoking Section. I attempted to order the Grilled Chicken tenderloin dinner. It was supposed to be 6 marinated grilled chicken breast tenderloins with 3 sides and bread. I chose applesauce, tossed salad, and baby carrots, with corn bread. I stuck with Water hoping it was safe. I noticed my brother-in-law ordered a cheeseburger and a chicken sandwich. My mother-in-law and my Wife ordered some sort of Grandma's Breakfast special. I have no clue what my other family members ordered as they were at another table next to us. As I said earlier the restaurant was insanely busy. I cannot fathom all the other customers who chose to eat there. Although the Servers were running all over the restaurant, the Service was SLOW AS HELL. We did not order anything that was complex. And 2 Servers were working our tables. The Cracker Barrel is a chain restaurant that has the same bland recipes for every store. When the food arrived it was not even hot. my tossed salad was supposed to have no onions, and sitting on top were two thin red onion slices. also I asked for no dressing, and the salad had been tossed in some italian dressing. It was edible but was not what I had asked for. the applesauce had no flavor, I had to add a packet of splenda to make it palatable. the carrots were the worst of the 3 sides... they were cooked in heavy buttery sauce to the point that they only looked like carrots - they were in fact no longer carrots they were baby food. I picked one up and it squished. I almost vomited from the smell and texture. The corn bread muffins were dry and mealy. My cats could of baked a better batch from sawdust that would of tasted better. The chicken tenderloins were very thin and very small. Almost the size of a Chicken Nugget. they tasted like they had been grilled in some italian dressing - they tasted fine - however each piece had several "inedible" parts to each tenderloin. So after cutting the inedible unknown parts off then the Chicken was ready to be eaten. The portion size was supposed to be for dinner however it looked like a Child's portion. This was pitiful for an $9 Country Dinner. The Waiter came back to our table several times and I told her the Carrots were not edible they were baby food. I asked for a different side item... It seems that Cracker Barrel seems to think all Vegetables either Must be cooked in 8 pounds of Butter or some sort of over salted Pork meat by-product.... Green Beans - have onions & pork; Pinto Beans - have Pork "meat" in it; and the Greens - have some sort of "meat" as well; the Corn has enough Butter to supply a small German platoon; and the Potatoes are either Mashed with Butter n Milk or Deep Fried to the point where all Potato content has been cooked away. I made the mistake of ordering the Greens. I've eaten my Mima's Greens and usually like them. Big Mistake.... the Cracker Barrel greens are also heavily mixed with "meat" and enough salt to be on par with the Salt flats in Utah. My wife tasted them and spit them out into a napkin, and I attempted to Smell the greens and was repulsed by the sulfuric odor it emanated. THIS WAS NOT FOOD, IT WAS AN EXPERIMENT GONE WRONG. I haven't the faintest idea who people continue to pay Cracker Barrel money for such nasty and disgusting food. I know why there are so many Hungry Children in the world - because someone attempted to feed them food from Cracker Barrel. My main vindication was when my brother-in-law spent literally 10minutes with the Pepper shaker attempting to "season" his food. He agreed that the food was abysmal. He said that he could of had better flavor from creme colored sheer paint. He looked at me and shook his head.

I love cracker barrels food because they have generous portions and they are the epitome of country-southern food. I have went here for numerous of different things. The country store that they have tempts you to buy more than what you bargained for with toys, candy, clothing, and other knick-knacks... Other than that you should be okay...

Been there a million times. Awesome food and service. There's just no pleasing some people though. Some folks have one bad experience and suddenly you're zero stars. People are more likely to go out of their way to go online to smear and besmirch someone's reputation than they are to go online to give them a high review when everything goes well. That's why ratings and reviews are pretty much useless in the first place. Including this one. LOL!

The food here is ok it may not be the best tasting food but it is good. The collard greens were really good as well as well as the pinto beans, tartar sauce and strawberry lemonade. It reminds me of sitting on my grandfathers porch at summer having fun with all my cousins.

I guess I do like potatoes: Great chain restaurant, friendly home setting and the staff are excellent in execution. The prices are reasonable, and when the AM comes I guarantee it's the first place you're looking to dine after your long night at any hotel. My favorite dishes on the menu are the country chicken pot pie, and the hash brown casserole.

Not a bad one... just be careful of going on sunday mornings... church crowd... foor is consistant... my only negative is that they will not fry a pork chop except for certain times on i think tuesday nights!

This restaurant is your typical Cracker Barrel. Nothing surprising here. The staff has always been helpful and kind. The only downside is the serving sized of some of the meals. My husband ordered the Smothered Chicken. When it arrived my husband poked it and the waitress said, "I assure you it's in here." Other than that, this place is alright . If it was up to my husband we would rather go to another restaurant on Indy. Oh well. I prefer Red Robin anyway. Their Guacamole bacon burger is great.

I always had great experiences at Cracker Barrel until recently. I ordered chicken and dumplings with fries as a side and they brought out someone else's old fries. How do I know that? Well, the first bite I took I got an odd taste of ketchup which I didn't add. I looked at the other fries and underneath there was old, crusty ketchup on some of the fries. I was disgusted!!!! The waitress was there as I discovered it and didn't seem to care too much, just brought me out a new batch. Yeah, I definitely want to eat another batch of fries. Ick!!! My boyfriend and I will never go back again. Beware if you order fries, they may have been someone else's that they recycled!!!
