I was very happy to find this pizza place. I'm fairly picky about my pizza and pretty much dislike all the chains. Monicals has a great thin crust that is actually thin with a crunch & seasoning. I've ordered the deluxe and delight pizzas and both were pretty good. If you like green olives go for the deluxe its covered in them and your salt loving tastebuds will appreciate you for it. I've gotten delivery both times and the service was speedy and nice. Think this might be my go to Greenwood delivery pizza place!

There is one pie I really like at Monicals. Go for the BBQ Chicken Pizza in "deep dish" which is not terribly deep. It's just the right mix of toppings and sauce. Big tables for groups and a party room for a party of a meeting. Bread sticks are like no other - the dough is comparable to my grandmother's yeast rolls, which is good but very unusual. They've got individual pizzas, which can be convenient. Order online, delivery, frequent buyers club

Good pizza if you like thin crust pizza, typical monicals experience. Not too upscale, more of a home style pizza joint. Prices are a bit high if you ask me but it's a staple for those who grew up in central illinois

There was nothing awful, but nothing really great about this place. Our server was fine, if a tiny bit under attentive. We mentioned that we'd never been there before, yet she didn't bother to tell us to pay at the front. So we sat there waiting for a while until she finally came back over. The counter where we had to pay was frustrating, with a bunch of teens joking around instead of helping us. The breadsticks were not bad, but nothing very distinguishing. I am pretty sure the only thing on them was coarse salt -- no seasoning, no butter. The containers of dip (and we even asked for an extra one) were too small for such flavorless breadsticks. The thin crust pizza was decent -- my husband kept referring to it as party pizza. It did kind of remind me of generic Totino's pizza. Again, not bad, but DEFINITELY not worth the $17 it cost for a four-topping. On the plus side, it looks like they do a lot of neighborhood sponsorships, so if you live close, this is probably a good place to go to put money back into your community. But if you are going solely to get a great pizza at a good price, go somewhere else.

Pizza is good...breadsticks are put in the microwave to warm and then serve. ( I saw it myself) . Wings are frozen( like the type you can buy at store) and they taste like it as well. If you just want pizza and a salad it is alright.

Stopped in the other day to feed the children. The service was good and pizza was tasty. Ordered a large half deluxe and half pepperoni and a 8 in BBQ chicken. My son loved the BBQ chicken. We will defiantly be back.

I grew up by a Monical's Pizza and it is very possibly the first pizza I ever ate. Thought the entire chain went out of business but a few tears ago WHAM I saw (and ate at) one in Champaign, Illinois. Now there is one in Greenwood and I LOVE it! Thin crispy crust, square-cut. It's no Bobe's of Washington but I recommend!!

Excellent pizza. Never been disappointed. A little pricey, but very good.

I wish I could rate this place better. I really do, the guys that run the place and the employees have been extremely nice to us when we have gone. The only reason I go back is that my son likes the pizza, if it wasn't for that I would never step foot in the place. Super thin crust pizza, there is another, but I am not a fan of that either. Don't get the sausage, unless they changed it since the last time it is basically a salt lick. Overall unless you actually like Pizza King, this place will probably disappoint. Worth a shot some people like this style of pizza. But I will have to pass.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century.
