I've had good chicken before but this is the best chicken i ever had. When I'm traveling I like to eat in hole in the wall joints (not worldwide franchises) When my cousin in Gary recommended this spot he got it right with JJ's. The wings are not the big jumbo steroid wings they are regular and that's what I love regular size wings. Can't wait to go back to Gary.

This was a great place to stop by and grab some fried seafood! The catfish was mediocre but the fried shrimp and oysters were VERY good. I had to give them three stars for the fish and the stank ass attitude the girl at the window had towards us. She had a HORRIBLE attitude. I even asked her what her favorite side was on the menu and she gave me an rude look and out of her mustache covered lip said, " idk" WITH AN EYE ROLL. So rude and nasty.

Ordered oysters dinner and 3 orders of gizzards because the girl at the counter said that they where very good. 4 Oysters that I got where good but the gizzards where really bad! Almost same amount of breading as there was meat and they where extremely tough Never going there again.

Disappointment for a southern girl wanting catfish nuggets. The fish wasn't catfish because catfish has flavor, and who batters fish in flour? I won't be back.

I really like this place. Good fried chicken. But what I really like are their fried oyster. Mmmm. It's not in the nicest location but so far I've never see anything happen. The workers have a thick and probably bullet resistant plastic partition between them and the customers. This is Gary, Indiana after all. They need to pass out more napkins with each order. Common on now. 'Fried' is part of their name.

Since this place was referred to us by our family while visiting in Gary, we thought we would try it out. Perfectly Fried (Perch) Fish! Surrounded by a crispy batter and juicy through and through! Just left us salivating for more and more! We were somewhat afraid that they might not give us enough fries to go along with our fish but when we open the box, we were proven to be wrong! We also noticed that the restaurant possessed a vast aray of delectable looking deserts and couldn't pass it by. So we tried two cakes (German Chocolate and Red Velvet). To say the least...we were not impressed! Both cakes did not have enough chocolate taste and the icing on the red velvet was plain and not even cream cheese...Yuk! This is the main reason for this place receiving only 4 stars. Fortunately, we saved the BEST for last! We also tried this pudding/ice cream-like desert which left an everlasting smooth, banana-fruity flavor in our mouths in which we never wanted the taste to ever leave! It was called "Manna"! Wish we would have bought 4 or 5 more of these! Just simply a bit of heaven on earth! Thanks for that experience...Lol!

I Fucking love this place I've been coming here for a year now any time I'm in Gary I stop. I know I should try other places but the hell with that if you got something good why mess it up? I've even waited an hour for it to open, ok it might not be good enough to wait for an hour but I had to get my wing dinner! anyways the wings are full sized and breaded not buffalo but the hot sause they use is awsome. They have a lot more than that though. You can get fried catfish witch is the best oysters other kinds of fish shrimp, huge shrimp. everything is fried so if you don't like fried food then go back to mars! they are always very nice hosts and they don't even have to be cause they have a bullet proof glass window for security. If you get a chance stop here they have awsome cheese cake too other home cooked sides every thing bad for you but damn it's soo good.
