Hubby and I and 3 friends rented "The Quarters," which is a small house right in town. Vesta was super helpful with all the arrangements and questions I had. The house, over Labor Day weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday night), cost us $440 (total) for 5 people. The house has two bedrooms and bathrooms, a nice, fully equipped kitchen and a patio/deck with a gas grill. There is a washer and dryer in the first-floor bathroom. Our third person stayed on the hideaway bed, but we also found a nice twin mattress set upstairs. The house was clean, cozy and really nice! We were within walking distance of everything in town. There was only one potential snag in the whole experience....our GPS's had us all turned around (we were on 5 motorcycles), so we ended up asking some police officers that were parked at the gas station where the house was. We would never have found it, had we not gotten an escort from the nice police officer! He knew the house and said, "Follow me--it's tricky." The street sign had two names on it, with the one we needed to see, all covered up by tree branches. Note to the lovely Vesta: Please warn people of this, because it would be nearly impossible to find in the dark. Be sure to bring TP, paper towels, a sponge and dish soap. We'll stay there again. It was a wonderful house and a great deal!

Pluto's Pizzeria is a small pizza shop on the lower level of the French Lick Resort. the puzza, calzones, stromboli, breadsticks and pretzels are all made fresh daily by Anthony, a native of Brooklyn, New York, home to the best pizza in the world. Pluto's Pizzeria is delicious and you'll think you're in Brooklyn - it's seriously that authentic. You will be glad you tried it.
One of my favorite pizza places. My husband and I like to come to west baden just for this pizza from time to time. Great quality and a great price. Friendly service every time :)
The place is a nice quaint atmosphere and a great place to go after drinking or gambling. It is also nice for kids because of the close proximity of bowling and an arcade. The pizza was OK. Nothing great, but it was not bad either. I had a slice of pepperoni and a Deep Dish Chicago Style slice. The Pepperoni Pizza was tasty, but the cheese was a little bland. The crust was flavorful and the pizza sauce had some character. The Chicago Deep Dish slice left me a little disappointed. While it looked really good, it was void of flavor for the most part. While it did have a great base sauce, the cheese was just not all that good. The sausage had no spice at all, and I believed it to be a little undercooked. It was pretty doughy but edible. The price for a slice is pretty steep, but since its in the resort, it's par for the course. I REALLY wish they would have a better selection of beer there. Just Bud products....sad. If you are selling gourmet pizza, you need to have some great beer to go with it. May I suggest Upland Brewing or New Albanian Brewing to showcase some Indiana beers in French Lick. I will say I will order from them again. Just better have crushed red pepper in hand to add some bite to their pizza pie!

Lasagna and deep dish pizza!!! So good!! Their sauce is a little sweet. Service was great!
Service was great and the restauant was a relaxing atmosphere. Pizza was good. A little greasy for my taste, but that was from the meat. The breadsticks were some of the best ones I've had. Good lunch choice.
A good pizza buffet if you want a quick, cheap lunch. Iceberg mix with tons of salad toppings. A few cold pasta salads. On the hot size, a mix of at least 4 different pizzas at a time. The breadsticks are unseasoned, but soft and chewy. They have regular cheese, nacho cheese, and marinara for dipping. They also have one cinnamon sugar pizza that is very good. When I requested a cheese pizza, they had one hot and ready within 10 minutes and even delivered a couple slices to my table.

Rowboat Cafe

As far as breakfast goes, this is a great stop in French Lick. From the road, it doesn't look like much. Inside, most of the "rowboat themed" decorations look like they were last hung up in the 1980's. However, the food is delightful and the people are great too. (also of note: Rowboat Cafe and Denny's are the 2 "sit-down" breakfast places in town... McDonald's doesn't count) Basically, it's extremely affordable and they give you a plateful of food. I like the Rowboat Special. You get 2 eggs, choice of meat, hashbrowns, and a biscuit with a coffee. $7.99. I have heard the catfish sandwich is good too!
There aren't many dining options in French Lick outside of the casino, but the Rowboat Cafe is a great place to go for a reasonably priced breakfast. Nothing fancy. Just good eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, coffee.
Poor service for breakfast before noon. Had to wait for everything, even menu's... Hash browns delivered last when we were ready to leave. Eggs not as ordered. Forgot the butter, lemon, etc. Sorry, can't even rate this place...but yelp made me.

Don't go here Worse service in town Sat Down and waited 15 minutes- no hello no welcome no go somewhere else The place was NOT busy 2 people in the bar Two tables with people 3 people standing in the corner talking- all 3 work there As we left, we told 2 people walking in that we'd been there 15 minutes and no acknowledgement We all walked out together
I wanted to visit this place for lunch because of the Larry Bird memorabilia. My wife wanted to eat at a different local restaurant - - - I should have listened to her. The buffalo chicken wrap was just OK, but the chips that were served with the sandwich had no taste what-so-ever. Overall , a very mediocre place for lunch. My wife was not impressed either!
The service was wonderful, and I enjoyed the atmosphere. However, I found the food to be mediocre and the prices to be a tad high for the quality.

Now, this is still a Denny's.... Don't misconstrue the 5 Stars for being the best food I have ever eaten. I give it that rating considering the cleanliness, atmosphere (lots of TV's), location (right in the middle of French Lick), and overall quality of food. I have come in at various times of the day and the food is always great. I can highly recommend this place for breakfast as a way to spend some of your early morning gambling money.
The service has declined substancially since our last visit. It took a really long time to order, and we were only able to because I finally insisted to our server that she take our order -- she was running around refilling coffee multiple times before we could order. I saw a lot of customers huffing, trying to get their checks and put in orders. The front check out desk was never staffed, so people had to wait to pay their checks as well. I counted at least five people that appeared to be bussers and/or cashiers, but there was only one "server" who was taking orders. The place was packed, there were a million tables that were not cleared, I don't know what everyone was doing. Our poor server was hustling, but she wasn't able to cover all her tables. No one came to our table during our entire meal to see if it was ok, if we needed refills, etc. The food was fine and the price was right, considering the hotel breakfast buffet across the street was $15 per person. Pros - they will give you a to-go cup for coffee and cold beverages. Breakfast for two was just under $20. They had free wifi. They are located directly across the street from the French Lick resort. Very conveniently located.
We waited 10 minutes to be seated. 10 minutes to be asked for our drink order. We ordered drinks and breakfast at the same time. 35 minutes later we have drinks and NO FOOD. No checking on by server, no sorry for the delay. No manager checking on us. The absolute worst service EVER. One of the poorest ran restaurants I have EVER been to. They do not know what the term" "customer service" is. Avoid this place at all costs.
