This place was so bad I really want to save anyone else the trouble. The reviews stating cold and frozen food are absolutely true. It took us over an hour to get 2 cups of cold soup and half frozen bread. At that point we should have left but did shortly after when the entrees came out cold and obviously old food as well. I really feel that I dodged a food poisoning bullet. The waitress wad very nice. I just felt bad for her. Everyone has to work. This place is an absolute dumpster.

The Pie Pan will make you an average breakfast. The breakfast menu is simple. Eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, etc. The staff is very friendly. It has a local feel. This place wins lots of local awards, which says more about the area selection than it does about the Pie Pan. I think the attitude of the staff and the homey atmosphere goes a long way with locals. They have lots of regulars, mostly old people. If you want a totally ordinary breakfast experience, this restaurant will do the trick. Two stars instead of three because they don't make anything you couldn't make yourself (and better) at home.

I just had the pie here, as I was too late for breakfast and wasn't interested in their lunch menu. I had the German chocolate pie. This place is a good place for pie, but the pie is as good as you'd get from a village inn. It's a place for pie and coffee. Staff was friendly, but this just wasn't my kind of place.

Best bacon in the world. Great service. Breakfast is the epitome. Have very good lunches as well. Love this place.

I've been here several times over the years, usually with my mom. I have not once had good service. Not once. They're usually mean and angry old ladies, and the food isn't good enough to put up with that.

The Pie Pan just won the Platinum award from the Courier and Press for Best Dessert. The person that awarded them must not have taste buds because their pie is NOT GOOD. I could have made a better pie than this, and I don't have a restaurant called THE PIE PAN! Their food is horrible. And I mean that. The chicken pot pie was literally disgusting. Stoffer's frozen pot pie is way better. I'm disgusted that this place has won so many awards for horrible food. Lorenzo's is where you need to go for the best dessert in Evansville. I'm ashamed that anyone in Evansville finds this food to be edible.

This is not a fancy place as you would expect.. The staff is friendly and it has a feel that the waitresses know a lot of the customers. At checkout, the woman was on the phone chastising someone I assume was her son for not being able to find his shirt. However, the pancakes were some of the best I've had in a long time. Bacon, eggs also pretty good. Sausage overlooked. I ordered the pie. I suggest you ask for the ice cream on a separate plate unless you like you pie doused with soft serve. The cheery pie was ok, not great and a bit undercooked crust. My bill was $11. Overall, close to what was expected and I would eat there again.

Very Disappointed! I recently ate dinner & tried the pie but I wasn't impressed. Wait staff is mediocre & has been mediocre all 3 times. I have eaten breakfast there twice & it was really good. My omelette was really good. My husband's biscuits & gravy were really good & homemade. We recently went back for supper & to try the pie. I had pork tenderloin which was good but the dressing was just okay & the green beans seemed to have only been warmed up & were definitely not cooked very long (squeeked when I ate them which is a sign that they were just warmed up & not really cooked). My husband had the meatloaf which seemed more like a chopped steak instead of meatloaf. Neither of us thought that it seemed like meatloaf & the piece wasn't very big plus it was covered in nasty looking brown gravy that looked a little too jell-o like. His mashed potatoes were okay but again they were covered in nasty brown gravy. We were surprised that the waitress didn't ask if he wanted gravy on his mashed potatoes since it didn't mention the gravy on the menu. We were disappointed in the supper but were excited to try the pie. The pie was just okay. I have had much better pie at restaurants that don't claim to have great pie & don't have Pie in their name. If we go back it will be for the homemade biscuits & not for the other food or pie.

I wasn't really a fan of this as a kid, but I went and stopped in back in September on a trip I took to Evansville. I loooved it. So did my boyfriend who'd never been to Indiana and my sister who didn't remember anything about the restaurant. If you go, try a slice of pie. The service was quick and the ladies there were really friendly. There were a bunch of old people (as to be expected of a place like that), but don't let that scare you away. They have really good food and really cheap prices.

Comfort food in a strip-mall setting. Delicious lunch, save room for a slice of pie. They have a big selection of pies and cakes. Reasonable prices.

Excellent Diner style food. The breakfast is the Best. Fast service, large menu and great tasting food. The biscuits and gravy are like Mom's. The lunch and dinner menu is excellent with large portions.

Expect to leave here full! Very good food and the service was nice! Cheap for the amount of food you get too.

The food at Pie Pan is just fine and dandy. Just plain ole Midwestern food. My parents like to come here for breakfast because it is cheap, but not really. However, the service is completely awful to the point that the food is not longer even a topic. The staff here hates the customers... They will completely ignore you for an uncomfortably long time. To serve your table is just not a priority. Then, if you do get a server, she will start whining about personal problems to your table. My experience here was so bad that it was laughable.

Food was just ok and the food took forever to come out. The slowness would be understandable if they were busy but that was not the case.
